Thank you! Yes, they're glass beads, but the long, thin ones. There's a wire running through them because the glue alone wouldn't hold them ... it was connected to the handle, before my queenie decided to flop it around (that arm is notoriously tricky to bend, it will snap back at the slightest touch ...)
And that book is definitely worth reading. Be warned, it will forever change the way you see playing cards

Thank you! It was fun, and the challenge helped me to stay motivated until the end and kick myself into finishing even though I was getting tired of the project It's great seeing all the different designs, your fabrics are awesome and your girl looks great as Queen of Hearts!

Thank you about my Queen The book was the first thing I thought of when the theme was posted, I couldn't not enter Maybe one day I'll make some other costumes from the book, Ace of Hearts and the impatient King of Spades ... wouldn't want the Joker in the house. He's trouble.

PRGerry, a very regal outfit. And you definitely have figured out how to do boobies! The layering just makes the outfit so adorable. She reminds me of an Alice in Wonderland-type Queen of Hearts with the distorted checkerboard pattern.
Namero - Mookie is his usual adorable self. The outfit is priceless but the wig and mustache just take it to new heights! Now that he has a real crown will he be impossible to live with?
Jany, I was surprised but very pleased that it came out exactly how I pictured it - usually something goes haywire. I'm thinking about making King of Hearts armor for my Tan Soo-Ri.

 

Mookie insists I set the record straight. He is not the model for this competition. It is his stunt body double Mickey. A while back I got another Pong on the MP because Mookie's face up and body were taking a lot of abuse with my competition efforts. Normally I just use Mickey for the fitting and testing of various techniques (that often include clay and glue) but once I got the wig on Mickey, I couldn't figure out how to get it off without ruining it because the curls were rather fragile and couldn't take a lot of handling. Therefore, Mickey got the outfit this time. Of course, Mookie was pouting about being displaced but I did point out that he got to be a god (Poseidon) and a super hero (Magneto Mookie) and king of Candy Land so he should just get over it. I did tell him that he would get to keep the crown, so all is well now.

 

No, it is not your monitor. Mickey has red eyes.
