I'd sure like an extension.

 

I can't wait to see what all of you have come up with! I'm so excited!

 

I'm lurking here too. I couldn't join this time because of too much happening on this side of the monitor, but I'm anxiously waiting to see all your finished projects!

 

The skirt portion of my gown is done but I didn't like the fit on the bodice so I scrapped that and will be restarting it with a slightly different method of constructing it. We'll see how that goes.

I'm eyeing that extension but still hoping to get everything done this weekend.

 

I'M DONE! I had the most trouble with my shirt, which I made out of an antique lace table runner I bought at a yard sale... Anyway, I'll be posting my pictures tomorrow!

No idea if it's the lighting or the camera, but full body shots were impossible to get in great quality. >_< took more than 228 shots to get one I didn't hate.

 

The peacock feather is just a prop! Teadesu, I love your dress design ! The beading in the front is very nice, and it fits her beautifully. Don't be ashamed of your photos! I thought they were great!

The outfit is stunning. I love the lil puppy prop and the peacock feather is also a nice touch. I am not too crazy about the top and the jacket alone, but together they are magic. And the HAT! So great! I just LOVE that last Glam photo! Great job!

I hate to do it, but I'm going to need to ask for an extension. I'm still struggling with my bodice. No more working with sheer fabrics! ugh!

 

I'm going to need the extension, too. I got a late start, and other things keep getting in the way.

OK, my entry is up. I'm not happy with it or the photos, but I ran out of time and had to go with what I had. Silk is a real biatch to work with. Working without a pattern is challenging, not so much figuring out the pieces needed but how to put them together and in what order. Now that I'm finished, I know how it should have been done!

 

Y'alls, I''m going to have to drop out. There's no way I can pull this out before midnight tonight. Time for Tim to tell me to clean up my workspace ...

That said, I am loving everybody's entries!

 

Gah! I thought the extensions were due tonight (3/3)? I finished last night and was planning on taking my pictures today. Oh well, I wasn't happy with my entry anyway, but now I'm really upset that I wasted so much time finishing it when I knew it wasn't going to be to my liking.

 

yes, what thegashlycrumb said! i thought the 3rd meant tonight at midnight, was going to post pictures today.

 

It was perhaps stated poorly, midnight means 12:00 AM, so 12:00 AM on the 3rd was last night. Most insurance policy terms begin and end at 12:01 AM, so as to avoid confusion as to which day midnight belongs to. In any event, this was the same as the stated ending of the challenge before the extension, and 48 hours of extension brings it to midnight last night.

 

Yeah, I saw that the stated ending before the extension was 3/1 and was surprised that it wasn't 2/28. I thought it was an extra day because of the short month, since the previous contests listed the ending day (ie 12/31, although they ended at 11:59 pm, instead of midnight) and since the 2/1 midnight deadline to enter seemed to be treated as 2/1 and not 1/31.

 

thegashlycrumb and blue oracle - could you at least post a couple pics so us thread stalkers can see your projects?

I can do that if the game organizers don't mind (although I would put them in a separate post, not edit them into my entry post to avoid confusion).

 

If it was your intention to end it tonight, it should have been stated as midnight (12:00 AM) on the 4th, not the 3rd.

Thank you for the extension. I really hated to miss the deadline due to a bad assumption on my part. I really do take commitments seriously, don't enter anything unless I intend to see it through and hate to quit. Even if I hadn't finished on time, I would have been posting pictures of my partially finished outfit.

Entry posted, at last. Thank you so much elfmoon for extending the extension I had also misunderstood, so I'm very relieved to still be able to compete! My photos are a little dark and not as clear as I'd like, but I hope they'll do.

 

Yay! I'm glad everyone got a chance to participate fully. Elfmoon and I, and our mystery judge, are getting on the entries and hopefully will have our winner by the 14th. Thank you all for your participation!

Wow, you guys all amaze me I'm glad you got the extensions, too! I really enjoyed sewing with all of you this very hectic month :3

 

Someone on the sewing thread directed me this way...totally had no clue about this going on...this is amazing! I hope to enter in the future.

@ NannaElle: beautiful work...I love the contrast patterns, I'm a fan of polka dots and animal prints and wow all the accesories are amazing!

@alicethornhehe: the little doggie is a cute little touch, love the feathers.

@blue oracle: your dress is amazing as well I love the beading work/trim it adds a nice contrast accent to the animal print.

@solstelpa: I love the color of the dress and the added beading/trim really adds a beautiful touch that compliments the print of the fabric.

 

The next challenge will begin on April 1st (no April Fool's day joke there). We hope to have it posted in the next week for people to join.

I want to thank everyone for their patience! This was a difficult challenge to judge. The scores and critiques have been submitted and they are being totaled in the morning. Once that is done, it might take a day or two for me to edit the winner's photo with the logo, since I want to do a good job of it.
