Project runway Dia de Muertos/Day of the Dead Challenge Game 20

I need to figure how to make it balance and I'm still looking for the scale feathers. (I'm making a dash to Michael's for the Christmas stuff when I'm well enough to drive)...she's a ChicLine, so it's going to be a challenge, but I'm hoping to find something. I'm also thinking of using individual strands of peacock feathers. Not really the colors, but hey. I have no idea what I'm going to use for fabrics. As you can tell...I'm right on schedule for this one. Oi...what a month...

 

I am sad to say that I am withdrawing. With this busy week I won't have time to work on anything. I wish everyone luck and I will keep lurking as I want to see everyone's designs! Make it work

 

I'm right on schedule going to finish the mask tonight and hopefully another fun accessory. Had to wait for my mask to dry..though it didn't turn out the way I like I may have to cover with a layer of sculpey. I attempted to use gauze plaster strips and its kinda well gauze textured..lol. We shall see.

 

I'm afraid I'll need to withdraw from this challenge too! The best of intentions and all, but I've yet to make a mask and no time to do so >_<

I'm afraid I have to withdraw I only have a half made dress that isn't really in theme without the accessories... which I won't have time to make since I got a major last minute project sprung on me yesterday... I'll keep watching the thread as I'm really excited to see what people do with the theme.

 

I have 90% of the outfit made. Just need to make the stockings and somehow make the headpiece attach to my girl's wig. Every way I have tried so far as failed. Soon I'll just glue it lol! Then I just have to get this mask figured out. I hope to be able to get everything finished Saturday, but with the holiday weekend and hunting season starting Monday I might have to withdraw too. I'm hoping not to, though!

Wildwoodflower: yea her arms just seemed too bare so it was a last minute detail with the gloves. Your mask and neck piece are great. My original design was actually going to be a full neck piece and down into the corset with bones but I just really didn't have the time. Overall I'm happy with my outfit. Can't wait to see everyone elses outfits!

Oh dear, I really did want to do this, as such a good theme for the challenge, but life has got thoroughly in the way this month, so I'm having to withdraw without even having participated, sorry...
I'm really looking forward to seeing what people come up with for their designs though - love the outfits posted so far by blue oracle, Kitty Blue, and wildwoodflower - well done guys!
And hope I can take part in another PR in the future!

Elfmoon: it breaks my heart, because I love this challenge and the design I had, but having lost two weeks to illness, I'm so far behind I just can't justify spending the next two days working on it, so...I'm bowing out. Please thank the judges for another FABULOUS challenge.

I too am going to have to bow out. I hate to do so but with deer season starting tomorrow and our family outing this afternoon I have no time to finish and then take photographs. So good luck to all who finished! They are all so amazing!

Great job everyone who entered so far. I am impressed. I am hurrying as fast as my hideous hand sewing will allow. My sewing machine loves to suck little seams into the feed dogs which I find more frustrating than productive. Mookie is being a trooper about being alternately nekkid and fit tested and I already told my husband that dinner will be whatever he finds and fixes for himself. back to work !

 

I too am caught up in a lot of hand sewing, which really seems odd for a large doll. I hope to have everything done by tomorrow. I hope that I can get the pictures to go up easily.
To those who have already posted, great work! I'm outclassed once again! But I'll keep entering; I'm having lots of fun researching the themes to make them authentic.

 

Done and posted! Whew, that was a close one. One of these days, I will learn not to leave things for the last minute.

Namaro: Mookie rocks!!!! WHERE did you find that tiny guitar? Pook's got an electric one, but it's really a bit big...about 4" long. I'd love to find him a better scale one.

It is actually not a whole guitar. It is a 3D scrapbook item. I got it in Michaels scrapbook section in a package with five of them in different sizes. I saw actual miniature guitars on ebay that I was tempted to get but I figured the weight of it plus the hat would make it difficult for him to stand.
