problem with B&G (Boy & Girl)... [RESOLVED]

Sep 26, 2008

    1. I am also having problems with B&G. I hope yours gets solved.

    2. Oh, what I mean "EMS is relatively cheaper" is that when EMS compared to DHL, Fedex or anything like that with a tracking number, is relatively cheaper.
I'm not saying all EMS are bad, I always enjoy good service from EMS too...just to note that different places have different working trend.

So did B&G get back to you?:?

    3. Nope. I'm still waiting on any sort of reply. >:(

    4. Oh my... There's still no reply from them ? :(
      DUn give up~! ^^ Good luckk~

    5. No news?

I was tempted to order a Rin via this, but this thread makes me... not want to.

    6. I asked point-blank if B&G is going to send new dolls or give me a refund.

In response, I was asked to specify my address... AGAIN. :(
Geez. By now the only way my address can get more specific is if I include my latitude and longitude coordinates (which is totally not necessary, seeing as I live in a major city).

    7. tadelica>>> i know this is gonna sound weird....but my DHL was cheaper den EMS. it appears to me that EMS working in reference to areas and not as a whole >.>;;; i do hope BnG problems gets solved soon

    8. I feel really bad for you. I really hope things work out for you. They should be doing everything they can to help you out, ESPECIALLY since you made such a large purchase with them.
      Good luck!

    9. I so feel for you - how can this happen?

    10. Did you pay by CC? I'd be enquiring about charging a cashback or something or about the insurance on non-recieved goods. You could also let B&G that if you don't get any satisfaction you'll make merry hell of their reputation on one of the biggest if not THE biggest BJD forums which could drastically effect their sales.

Hope it works out for you.

    11. She paid through paypal with a bank account.

To the poster: Please DONT give up. DO try and contact your bank, even if theres the SLIGHTEST chance they might help! This is a LOT of dolls to loose. I wouldnt allow EVEN one lost, let alone 6 beautiful babies! I would be writing your reviews across DOA and any other strong resin forums, when you give B&G a bad name, they will begin to listen. Sometimes it takes making others aware of their lack of helpfulness in it. I know they didn't directly offend you, but to not work on this, I mean, I put more communication, time and effort into 30$ items I sell on ebay. If one was lost Id do EVERYTHING in my power to make my customers happy. If B&G cant do that for something Three HUNDRED dollars, EACH, then they cannot be a good seller.

I suggest you post finally with thread titles like "PLEASE help me! ITS BEEN MONTHS" etc, people will click on it, hear your story, and perhaps you can prevent the same thing from happening to them, or B&G will finally get their ACT together!

    12. I am getting the same run around from B&G. I paid over the ammount on my doll and I even told her to keep the extra, I just want my boy.... And I get.... "we cant find your payment."
I hope you get help hon... If not... I am there with ya.

    13. Ugh, I'm tempted to post a link to this thread on the recent B&G thread, but it'd feel... tacky. Is there a diplomatic way to say to a seller, 'I'd love to buy from you, but I'm concerned about your transactions with other customers'?

    14. You just nailed it, Angharad. That is the perfect way to phrase that.

    15. I'de contact a lawyer you will get a answer in less than 12 hour's when they contact the postoffice been there done that with my 2nd bjd chi was lost in the sorting room aka stolin was returned in 3 hours and sent to my door in less than 7 hours . good luck and ? pm me i'll be more than glade to help

    16. Just noting here for those who seem discouraged to order from B&G...
I ordered from them, but from their Ebay seller -not- from any other vendor/agent.
I highly recommend going through Jack for buying B&G dolls. He communicates quickly and efficiently and I have not yet heard anyone have any issues by purchasing through him.

So please, if you're interested in getting a B&G dolls, try not to avoid the entire company and pick the agents with the best rep (Jack probably being #1). On a bonus, if you order from Ebay, you get the extra protection.

    17. Yes, but DHL isn't very reliable in many countries. I was told at a doll meet once to never use them since they like to steal the dolls. (Truth? Rumor? I don't know, but it scared me)

    18. Jack is the best he is who i ordered my boy from quick shipping and all . i love him i only order my new dolls from him and if he doesent have 1 that im looking for he will send me to a good friend who does. Jack Rocks

    19. Just FYI, I believe my box was marked down severely. I can't give you the exact number (I don't remember and I threw away the box), but I know it wasn't the original price. However, mine came from DDE, if that makes a difference.

Man, extra gold stars to you for keeping your calm. I'd probably be in some sort of unholy rage, especially over 6 dolls. I've been following this thread on and off and I'm a fan of B&G. This situation is making me very leery...

      *sends you some good luck*

    20. B&G does mark down their packages. However, this is advertised on their main sales threads. It's not like they do it secretly and without the buyer's knowledge. A buyer can request that they not mark down the packages, but otherwise that is their standard way of shipping. This is definitely one example of a transaction gone bad, but the majority of sales from B&G (especially ones done through Jack) go just fine.

    21. I ordered my girl from Jack as well. Some people have had mix transactions from him, but nothing severe from what I remember. But I have a feeling he's going to get more bussiness now since he seems to really be the only secure way to get a B&G doll...

Still keeping my fingers crossed on this matter.

    22. JunkySpot now carries some B&G dolls as well, and they're already known to be a highly reliable dealer. They have only a small selection of the 60cm dolls, but just wanted to toss that out there.

I guess I will continue ordering only from Jack or Emory now, until whatever has happened with Layla/HerbTiger is cleared up.

    23. Hmmm.

I'm going to be filing a police report this weekend. I have enough documentation to prove that the package was stolen from the local sorting plant. Hopefully they can 'encourage' the post office to look further into this matter. >:/

    24. So sorry. I can't imagine how you must feel. Hope this works out soon for you.

    25. I'm just amazed that B&G has yet to say anything to you!
I could understand them waiting 2 weeks to figure out a solution-but this has really gone on too long now.

Prehaps have variouse people post on their board that they'll refuse to buy from them until something is resolved with their buyers, who are having trouble?
      I know it's a little extreme but hey,why not?

    26. Best of luck, Doll-Mage. I hope that the police can do something.

As for B&G, well, it's VERY sad that they've almost done nothing to help you out. Doesn't inspire confidence at all.

    27. Awww, I'm sorry Doll-Mage. I was hoping it wouldn't come down to that. But you gotta do what you gotta do. I'm also really disappointed with B&G. This sort of thing doesn't sound like them.

      *sends you more luck*

    28. Wow, I'm so sorry to hear about all of this! I can't beleive B&G has not stepped up and provided even a basic level of customer service. I was thinking of getting one of their MSD sized boys, but now I'm rethinking that.

    29. I'm sad to see it come down to this, but I am very glad that you are taking action! It's unacceptable for something like this to happen, so hopefully people taking action will help prevent it.

    30. B&G's reps are probably afraid to get involved. If the dolls really have been stolen, it's a big loss for them too. Still, I think this is not the only time Layla has not helped with a problem.

Please, let us know how this police report goes!

    31. I really hope the police report helps solve you problems Doll-Mage. :( What a really sad thing to happen. I hope everything works out well, and it looks like you are working through it all with a leveled head. Great work and keep it up!

    32. Well it is secretly if you order through a rep instead of the main site. What I mean is, the buyer shouldn't have to look on the main company website about shipping. I'm not even sure the agents know they are doing that, but anyway. As far as I know, the markdown information is not on Denver Doll's Website, Junkyspot, and I don't know if it's on the website for Herb Tiger. If the information is not, then it's not Doll-Mage's fault that they marked the price down.

    33. >.> I gave them my full work address (a design office... lots of packages go there) with all those fancy 'c/o's and 'attention' tags. Hopefully that works.

      Re: marking-down of price.
For an answer to the question: I just read through the ordering info on HerbTiger http://www.herbtiger.com/shop/show.asp?id=104
No mention of marking down the value in the shipping information. Is that written on the official Chinese website?

    34. That's part of my point though. It depends on what agent you go through, rather than B&G as a company itself. Rather than everyone blaming B&G for the mistake, it's the agent that should have the blame. It's like ordering a game from Gamestop and then saying it's Nintendo's fault for not delivering it properly. There are good and bad agents for most companies.

As for whether or not it says the markdown on the Chinese site, I do not know. I cannot read Chinese. When I ordered earlier, it did say on their old English order site then, but I do not see it any longer. I do agree that it is also the agent's responsibility to lay out all the shipping information ahead of time.

    35. It is the main companies fault if the company is the one doing the sending. For instance, Junkyspot gets the doll then ships the doll to the customer. Hence, if the doll doesn't make it, it's Emory's responsibility. Most agents though have the doll shipped to them first. Given that the doll was directly coming from B&G, I'm not sure the Herb Tiger store is a an agent but rather a partnership.

Provided that they know that information... If the agent knew ahead of time, they are partially to blame *but* as BnG is the one doing the shipping, they need to make the insurance claim. At least try to recover some of the funds.

    36. I wasn't told this when I ordered from Jack. So that's news to me.

    37. Tried to read through all the stuff that happened but I am still confused.

If this is CanadaPost than I am not surprised. They have sent me "parcel notifications" and when I got to the post office, the parcel "mysteriously" disappeared. Meaning it got to Canada, through the sorting plant and even to my local post office. Just wasn't there when I had my notice in hand ready to claim it. :barf

      CP sucks large.

So if it was lost at CanadaPost it is their fault. As it is Crown Corp, I was told that I should call/mail/email my local MP to complain about their service with specifics and perhaps that would influence the forces that be there.

Not sure what other advice I can give. How large was the box?

I have a friend who works at CP.

I will ask him if there is anything else you can do for resolution.

I think I got all the info in the thread correct to give appropriate advice. If I missed something, I apologize.

I hope you get your dolls. :(

    38. But did Jack know ahead of time that B & G is doing that? If he simply acts as go between you and the company, then he might not know that they are marking the packages down. Granted if they're upfront about it, he should know, but if they aren't. Well anyway regardless B&G needs to start and insurance claim and try to recoup some money, if the Herb Tiger Representative knew about it and didn't inform Doll-mage then they need to get start helping get reimbursement for Doll-mage. Either way everyone needs to get their rears in gear because this is ridiculous. <.<

    39. doll-mage: you're better then me, i think i would have gone crazy the minute i had learned that one of my dolls had gone missing.

the police better do something about this. it is so ridiculous that company would purposefully fall off the map because they are afraid to deal with you. like you said, they need to either refund your money or send you replacment dolls. that is way to much money for a company to attempt to overlook the situation.

best of luck to you. i will try and see if there is any useful info i can get for you about all of this craziness~

    40. And this is one reason I am not very impressed with the idea of oversees shipping. To many opportunities to loose something.

    41. @ rainyday;
The package went missing from the sortation plant. No delivery attempt was ever made. It was also from the same sortation plant where a couple of workers were recently busted for stealing packages and bringing them home. EMS did investigate, and they could not locate the package. So it's completely gone, not just shoved off in a corner or backlogged or anything.
The package was HUGE. I have the dimensions written down somewhere, as recorded by customs, and it weighed 11kg, so it would have also had one of those "overweight parcel" stickers slapped on it.

Apparantly the Police and the people who run Canada Post have some sort of system about what happens with stolen parcels, so the head people of the Post way out East are handling it.

      ---

      Unfortunately, mail theft of this kind is not considered as severe a crime as it is in the States, so there is not much legally I can do from my end. ;_;

    42. I've got it opposite here. I can't trust CanadaPost for anything, even a damn birthday card.

      But EMS rocks my world.

    43. I remember hearing about this on the news and cursing CP.
:( That's terrible. I can't believe just how thieving those CP workers can be. They give a really bad name to anyone who works at a sortation plant.

I'm sorry about your misfortune. I hope loads of good luck come your way after this to make up for it.

    44. Well it kind of depends who and how you are shipping. In her case, it actually made it to Canada fine. It's what happened after it made it to Canada. So basically it could have happened if someone had shipped from Canada <--> Canada. The fact that it's international is just making it harder for her to get compensation. As she put it, the Canada isn't as strict as the US about mail crimes.

    45. Wow.. that sucks terribly, but at least they're starting to look into it. I hope they find something, and that your dolls get to you. Or that whoever stole them at least compensates you for their price. ;.; That just really sucks, and now I'm really hoping none of my stuff goes through that particular sorting plant.

    46. I just remembered. I've heard things like that happeing with DHL, but never with any other mail service.

Surely there are cameras in this post office right? Couldn't they check to see if the box was taken by someone it shouldn't have been? (Sorry if this has been mentioned)

    47. I can't believe they're that lenient about it? How can mail theft not be a big deal? It's one of the main areas of access for identity theft, not to mention the potential valuables that go through the system. I fail to see how mail theft, especially by people who are getting PAID to look after said mail (!!), is any less serious then common house-burglarly.

:/ well, not much ranting can do about it, no matter how aghast I am at it. But I really do hope that a) the police get onto them and actually investigate it (who knows, maybe this sort of thing is what lead to the earlier arrest?) and b) that B&G do right by you and help you persue the situation and reclaim on whatever insurance they put on the package.

      Good luck!

    48. This is just so sad for you! I've been following your story and I just feel so frustrated for you. B&G really need to pull their finger out! It should be down to them to get refund- not you. They should send you replacement dolls and they get their money back from the postal people but claiming on the insurance. It's very bad form of them to think that you should deal with it. I so hope it gets sorted soon.

    49. I agree with you there. Perhaps there's a way though, don't give up hope! Have you heard any news since filing the police report?

    50. Just read this thread all the way through and feel so angry this happens. I've had similar problems with almost every mail carrier and NONE of them would take responsibility and help me. EMS tracks every stop a package makes and they know where the package ended it journey.

But from the lack of response by B&G, I will never buy from them again, argh! A boycott is very powerful.

I am so sorry this happened to you Doll-Mage...please don't give up and keep all of us updated.

    51. Hello dear, is there any updates ?
I'm wishing you all the best, hope you'll get the best solution for this problem. *hug tight

    52. No updates yet. ;_;

    53. I would be sending B&G a message a day until they tell me how they are going to resolve the problem

    54. 6 dolls?
      Oh my, how horrible D:
I hope everything will end fine for you...ha, 6 dolls, I can't believe it o_O°

    55. I wish you well and hope that you get replacement dolls

    56. Well, it's been four months without any response as to how B&G plans on compensating me for this.

;_; and all I really wanted was an Afra...

I'm going to go cry now.

    57. If EMS have investigated and not been able to find your package surely B&G should be able to claim the insurace now and get your dolls sent back out to you?

    58. They could if they would. B&G seems to be delaying this as long as possible. I hate thinking bad of them since my girl came from them, but seriously, they've changed. I wonder if they got taken over by a new owner or somehting.
Also, as has been stated before, they mark down the packages. So they'd rather them be found then loosing money on them.

Doll-Mage - Don't loose hope, surely something will be done soon. **hug**

    59. God thats awful.
I think I missed the page that said they mark down.

    60. I am distraught to read that B&G have not done anything. They have had long enough and the OP has been more than linient with them. This is their problem; not hers. I for one will never be buying from B&G. They should be ahsmaed of themselves and I hope they realise that this forum is very powerful within the BJD community and if they cannot deal with something such as lost dolls then I don't want anything to do with them- and it seems like quite a few people have the same feelings.

I agree on boycotting the company: and an email a day should help a bit. Do you have any kind of trading standards in Canada that might be able to help you?
