stand_up_2016 by saskha, on Flickr Sunday, November 20th, 2016, if you support BJD artists and companies that create and sell our beloved BJD's, stand up for them and show your support! Take the time to educate newbies to the hobby, and your friends of the harm illegal recast cause to our hobby. Take a photo (or more than one if you're creative like our BJD artists) of one or more of your dolls with a support message, submit it everywhere!! Post on the Facebook event page, your Facebook page and BJD groups, Tumblr, Deviant Art, Flickr, Twitter, Instagram, here on Den of Angels, and other BJD discussion forums. Be sure to add the tags #ProBJDArtists and #ProLegitBJD Let's make the love and support for the TRUE artists work go viral once again this year!! This annual event started in 2014 with Floriana Gilardenghi, and in 2015 with Kat Saskha Inconi, who deserve all the credit!! It's a great way to show our appreciation to the artists who create the dolls we love!!! Be sure to invite your friends to the "event" as well as sharing on your timelines and favorite BJD groups to make this go viral!
-7 days guys, are you ready? Don't miss the chance to support your fav artists and spread the word!! ^O^)/
@Christina in FL ... Would it be ok if I shared your picture? I am not very good with tech and such to be able to make my own!!!! And I would love to put something on my FaceBook to join in with the day and share the message too. I totally understand if you would prefer me to not share it
I don't have any dolls yet! But I'll try to post something on my Facebook anyway! I do want to support the artists who put so much time and effort into their creations (and maybe one day I'll be one of them!).
Here is a group photo of all my BJDs expressing their support : We Support BJD Artist Day#ProBJDArtists #ProLegitBJD by els82, on Flickr
I'll be posting some photos later today! But in the meantime, check out the new info DoA put up! It's information about how to spot recasts, and how they negatively affect the artists! DoA Event - Information on identifying recasts That Wiki page can be viewed even if you don't have a DoA account, so please feel free to share that on social media!
So long without posting here, wow! Hello everybody! (In the pic, Oliver and Valadhiel, my 1rst and my 2nd bjds, respectively. They've been with me for 9 years). Today is a special day for me. It's the day that remembers me the situation of the hobby I love in my country. This is the very first time that I speak openly about this, I mean, to the international community and I think it's necessary to do it. Saddly, Chile is "recast friendly" and I don't have any remorse for saying this cause it's simply the truth, even if I hate it. Some years ago some people started to purchase recasts for themselves and for selling, so they became recast dealers and that was the beginning of the end of our beautiful united coummunity. We fought each other, we offended each other and finally we became estranged. Me and some friends, the few anti-recasts people of the group, were outcasted for good (and for the better, of course!). Now, several years ago, the BJD hobby here is full of recasts and people who thinks it's ok to buy them for a number of (inexcusable) reasons. I don't care what people thinks about what I say, even if I'm the "anti-recast monster", the mean one who offenses everyone with a recast bjd, that I'm too passionate about all of this. It's just that I always say what I think. That's how I am and don't regret it. The only thing I know it's that I hate deshonesty, I hate lies and hipocresy and all this recast thing has been the mean to demonstrate the real colors of a lot of people. Because this is not only about "dolls", it's about respect and honesty too. So here I stand my ground in regards of BJD once again. My group, ABJDChile is the only one "not recast-friendly" here and I'm one of the few people in Chile who hates recasts and I'm proud of it.
My newest arrival has taken upon herself to be the spokesdoll for the resin nation at "MAITALIA's home for wayward resin"........
Wrote a mini-essay on Flickr, but I think you guys already know my feelings on the subject @Adalwolf, omg, the EXPRESSION on Pandora's face -- priceless! She will take the ARM off a recaster if she gets the chance, LOL! -- A
I have always managed to miss this day in the past, so this year is the first I got to participate! I'm glad there is a day for this... But really every day is Pro-Artist Day, amirite? Don't support art theft! #probjdartists by Jess, on Flickr
@Ashbet she seems very angry kitty xD but for a good reason! I made one more a bit late but felt like sharing her story. Soom Onyx on Impldoll resin matched Idol body.
I'm super late this year, but didn't want to miss out! Here are Lox and Helleboria speaking out against recasting.
Late too, but I saw someone complaining about it so I figured I would join in to give someone, somewhere, just a little bit more grief. Probe Ball Artist by Drone Bee, on Flickr According to her, today is "Probe Ball Artist" day -- We're still working on the teaching-literacy-to-dolls thing. And to the amazing artist who sculpted her, I just want to say: "Sorry for dishonoring your vision, Sensei."
I had posted mine on the actual day, but I wanted to share it here too Was nice to see so many pictures posted on my feed! Nothing special, but I wanted to speak up about this whole "I draw the line at artist doll recasts" argument I see pop up so often. It's just wrong, because it's a slippery slope (when does a company "deserve" to be stolen from?! When it's two people working at something? Three?) and it makes no sense anyway (it's not like you can tell that recaster when buying an Iplehouse recast "Please only use my money to steal from Volks and Soom, thanks!"). On top of obviously being a wrong thing to do anyway, but that argument just makes me groan every time it comes up
