10. I can't tell you how wonderful I find this campaign... and how much I despise the re-casters and re-caste-friendlies.

Keep up the good fight, everyone!

Artists deserve respect.

12. Kaye Wiggs Pip shares her message: "Only legit dolls have a soul and a heart. The recasts are like zombies, a piece of junk, a stolen dead body with no soul. Do NOT support those who produce recasts. SUPPORT BJD ARTISTS who by creating dolls, endows us with a soul and a heart and make us alive!

Worth...

... The creativity, artistry & dedication that goes in to their creation.
... The effort involved in being able to afford them.
... Every cent of their cost.
... Every hour of the wait time.

~ SAY NO TO RECASTS! ~

I'm still trying to catch up with all your submission, Because Yesterday I've reached my max submission limit with the official page and my account too >__<
I hope to not made too much double post but my eyes are a little tired too XD
I want to start Thanks all of you! All of this is made by you!
I wanted to describe a little the "behind the scene":
It started by a simple, little idea, I posted with a bare banner and a few word posted on my group of owner friends, "BJD italia community", after a day of sadness and disappointment for the "Cerise doll case"
The idea fired some enthusiasme, so I grab my courage and my poor english and started to write, everywhere: on tumblr, at the DoA squad, at Materièl cèleste forum, at many group here on Deviant art, on FB, to try collect all the support I can have for the day. I passed 5 days writing and responding to so many PM, mail, Note, the response was beyond my dreams!
Me and my friends Killingsissy, my partner at L-doll and one of my dear owner friends here in Italy, opened a event on FB, and here some number:
we send 1,800 invitation, 701 accepted, me and her posted 243 photos each others on the official tumblr page, and so many I have still to accept and reblog!
since midnight of saturday, I started to receive submission request and I posted since 3,00am in the morning, restart it after 5H of sleep because I was so excited to the big response! XD
I was so fired up that I didn't have lunch, I forgot it! Only the tumbl block stop us, at 1 hour before sunday midnight, and this morning when the reset start I restart the post, because I want that all the people that have find the time to participate, can have his spot on this big, beautiful love letters for all The bjd artists, they need it this type of positive response!
so, again, thank you very much, all of you! I want to send personally a thanks but you're too much!!!! XD
but the success is born by your love, don't forget this day, and I hope will reach all the dolls artists ^__^

#ProBJDArtists, This is Makoto, he was my first doll: I got him 2nd hand in 2009.... something that would be hard for a newbie to do and still get a legit doll these days.

Google search for places to get BJD as of a few months ago doesn't turn up a legit company till 6 th or 7th listing.... the legit artists and makers should be the FIRST things showing in the search results.

He's an Elfdoll Mir (no longer in production, but the company still makes so many fabulous dolls) and is 60cm tall.

18. This is my little contribution, I LOVE LEGIT DOLLS (but I dont have good camera)

19. Dear BJD artists,
Thank you so much for the pleasure you have given me and so many others.
I wish you health and happiness and long productive careers as artists! <3

20. saskha A hearty thanks to you too for this idea! A lot more people have participated than I expected, and just when I thought our community might have been fragmenting, this unified campaign proved otherwise. Thank you!

21. I missed this day yesterday. but when I got on the computer today and my tumblr and facebook were covered in #proBJDartist day photos I just had to join in. so I took an hour to haul 10 dolls downstairs (where the lighting is better) plus two doll boxes for them to sit on. So thank you BJD artists for all that you do. I've been in the hobby 5 years now and can't imagine not having these little guys around. (one doll not pictured is my Iplehouse Colin who is away getting a face-up)

And a close up of the signs. Bluefairy May (not mine, belongs to fanficismything) And my DollZone Kimi who started me on this journey 5 years ago.

32. Better late than never! :sweat #proBJDArtists

To all BJD artists, and those that help them create such wonderful dolls:

I hope that you continue creating, and that you keep making people happy. You have definitely lit up my world, and changed it for the better! I now am able to see the beauty, creativity and individuality that exist in dolls that I never used to be able to see before, and for that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you.

33. A little late to the party, but I've been up to my eyes in a work project. XP

In my personal opinion, recast are definitely NOT "doing it right". <_<

34. It's been great seeing so much support for this. :D I got a little emotional yesterday looking through these photos and messages. I'll have to remember to search the tag or come back to this thread next time I'm feeling disillusioned with the hobby/community.

35. I am a bit late but that doesn't effect my support for #proBJDartist ;)

38. I was at work all Sunday so I didn't get a chance to get everyone together until today.

And the following is from Ringo, my roommate's son who is 3 months shy of Den of Angels membership, but a long time doll owner and lover:

39. A bit late but I also wanted to voice my support for BJD artists.
There is just no justification for recasts. It is uplifting to see so many
members of DoA showing their support for the artists whose work
we have the pleasure to enjoy thanks to the artists' hard work and devotion to their craft.

40. Likewise, I was sadly occupied Sunday, and the weather has been just dreadful for photos. But I needed to participate in this. Recasters and the stigma they carry are extremely damaging to the hobby, and sadly the only way they can really be stopped at this point is if people make a conscious effort to stop purchasing illegitimate dolls.

I wish my HTT Bambee head had a body at the minute. Next year, I'd like to include dolls from individual artists as well as companies. Pro-artist all the way! :cheer

44. Sharing my girls, and the statement that I posted with this photo on Flickr:

A few of my "artist dolls" are gathered here, to state my support for the doll artists who make the beautiful dolls who we love so much.

And, while I am fortunate enough to count these individual artists among my friends, it's also really important to note that ALL BJDs are dolls created by artists.

The "big companies" often have only 5-20 employees, and regardless of the size of the business, no artist (or company that produces their work) deserves to be stolen from.

Hard work and artistic accomplishment have a value. Please don't support recasts, because recasters are seriously damaging the integrity of the hobby and the trust between collectors.

It not only impacts the companies that produce dolls, it impacts the ability of collectors to sell their own dolls, since they are not only competing against cheap recasts, they're often asked to "prove" the legitimacy of their dolls . . . and many companies didn't have an elaborate system of "papers" or copy-protection in place in the early days of the hobby.

So, older dolls are devalued because it's more difficult to provide a legitimate provenance for them, whether or not they're dolls who have even *been* recast by anyone.

And it dispirits the artists, who work so hard to produce beautiful dolls for us to enjoy -- don't let entitlement poison this amazing hobby that has brought together friends around the world!!

(Wish I'd had this photo taken/posted by Sunday, but it wound up being a super-busy few days due to some family medical issues!)

The dolls pictured are, from the left:

Zahra (Enaibi Fée-line, by Enaibi)
Nerine (Noble Dolls Raspberry, by Asella)
Sugar Shock! (Batchix Mini-Machina)
Wren (Atelier Momoni Nena01)

* * *

Lots of love to the people who came up with this idea, and everyone who has participated in taking a stand for doll artists!! :aheartbea

45. OMG YES! Thank you. I have a 2009 Fantasy Doll and he has nothing, absolutly nothing to prove he's legit. Not even the company's name on his head cap. No CoA come with him. Heck he didn't even get a proper box. He come in just a run of the mill shipping box. Now I have zero plans to sell him. But this recast issue has made me realize if I ever did sell him I have no way to prove he's legit. Heck Doll zone still doesn't send CoAs. Just a card with the company photo of the doll mold on it. Only one of my dolls actually has a CoA.

46. Better late than never (it's been a super hectic time work-wise), but here's Khai, my handsome and 100% legit hybrid guy. His Nkiru head sculpt is by the wonderful Liz Stine of Simply Divine, and his body is by Dollshe. His face-up and necklace are by me (earthspirits).

As an artist myself, I empathize with, and always support our wonderful BJD artists and companies. Please don't buy recast - support our talented artists! Without them, we would have no BJD's to enjoy.

50. Very late late here, but support this initiative :aheartbea
[IMG]

51. Honestly, I think we should keep this going -- it's important to show BJD creators that we love and support them, and it's a reminder of which people in the hobby share our feelings about recasts and the harm that they do!

-- A <3

52. Yay that would be great i have some time off work next week so could do one..
