This is Shion's head when I first got him...


Got him a body and new faceup, eyes and wig...so this is him now.

 

Havid came to me blank... and very white.

I popped his eyes in and put his wig on first.

His face up. My first one.

He's got a body blushing too. I changed his eyes.

Didn't like those super bright eyes so i put his defaults back in. They look so much more real. And i made him a wig that looks natural on him.



Melial came with his default faceup and he still has it. I don't have any intention of changing it.

I made him a crappy little white fuzzy mohawk wig just 'cause.

Didn't care for the eyes.. they didn't match his character.

Finally got around to making him a nice wig. Turquise mohawk! And he has a little hand-made roman-esque outfit.

 

Oh how fun! I wanna do this with my boys! My other dolls haven't changed nearly as much as these two have.

My boy that has gone through the most changes is Yaris. Its been a long journey for him but I'm satisfied with his current look though he's still lacking the scars, tattoos and possible piercings that will fully complete him. As well as the style of clothing he enjoys >.< Dollmore here I come xD

Anyway here is what he looked like when he first came to me:


A couple months later he got a new face-up and a crappy wig that he was forced to wear a hat with just so it would stay. He also got his skeleton finger around this time but I wasn't able to get good pictures of it yet:


Then I tormented him with super feminine look and blue eyes for a bit:


Then I decided I wanted an ear tail short cut (wish I had kept the wig cut like this >.<):

I'm considering getting him a twin >.> Love the Chen mold so much.

 

All of my dolls seem to constantly be in a state of flux...Apollo has gone through the most, I think.

Here he was, first day I got him. He was my first 60cm doll.



After a bit, I changed his story so I could get him the groovy glasses I wanted him to wear *evil*, new faceup, new wig, new eyes.



Then, er, I changed him to a Kohya, though I knew immediately the hot pink/ purple faceup had to go.



His eyes and mouth were modded, and faceup redone to make him a little more Western looking.



And then just recently, I got Armeleia to redo his old faceup. Mm...Apollo. XD

 

Alex (DM Kara Klum) is the only doll i have who has gone through any real evolution as he was my first...sadly enough he still a little ways to go....

DM was out of blond wigs, my last choice was the silver one he has on...and the eyes were more purple than blue, and the DM default faceup wasnt right for a manic-depressive vampire, but he was my first doll and i had time to "fix" him.

Sometimes you need to let someone else paint your doll to find its true personality. Here she is with a faceup by Ravendolls, a Volks brown wig, and baby blue SOOM eyes. I'm still looking for the perfect eyes and wig, but these are good color-wise!

The dramatic faceup change is with Elijah, my first of two identical Mihos. Elijah's head showed up first, therefore he got to go through more faceups than his brother. The first is a faceup by Morrrigan, painted upon purchase but later removed due to damage, the second in a Junkyard Messiah number done by myself, and the third is done by the talented Shallowsleep, who painted both twins up identical to the slightest detail.

Here's Ke'jadiannyé's progress so far...


The first photo I ever took of her with the boring old default Emma faceup, borrowing her father's wig and eyes and on a very flat-chested boy body.


The problem of her figure got solved pretty quickly with the addition of some cotton-wool padding around her bosom, and she got her own wig at last.


...Unfortunately Sharakti needed his eyes back, so she was stuck with glass-and-acrylic replacements.


At last the next Mystics order came through for us and she finally had urethane eyes of her own, but the default faceup was still a bit of a letdown.


Finally I managed to get her a slot with Lynsey to redo her faceup...


...and because of this thread I was inspired to finally make her a proper girl-chest with Sculpey, and this is how she is at present. Much better!

I thought it might be interesting to have a thread with pictures of the changes that have happened with your dolls over time. I know a lot of people here on the forums have dolls that have gone through so many changes, seeing the difference from when they first got the doll, to what the doll is now is just amazing! Feel free to include stories of what your doll has been through, or plans for what you're hoping to do in the future.
I'll start it up with pictures of my dolls, though I'm not done with some of them yet : )


My very first doll, a Domuya ONE Fay. I've had her for a little over two years. It's amazing how much better I've gotten at taking pictures since then >_< . She's only on her second wig, and I've never changed her default eyes. I really want to get her ears pierced, but I'm terrified of sending her head away, and also terrified of messing it up doing it myself heh.


Second doll, a B&G Sharon. I've had him for almost two years. He's still bald, mostly because I couldn't ever get the wig I really wanted for him, because it was always sold out. I did finally order him a different wig, but it's still not here. I really want to get him some emo-looking shirts. He was always supposed to be an emo boy, and it just never really happened : o


Third, a B&G Afra that I've had about a year and a half. I changed his default eyes because brown did NOT suit him, and though I had planned to use the "Afra" pointy ears, once he got home I decided I didn't like them at all(yay for floppy ears!). I've always thought about getting his face-up redone, because the one he has is kind of girly, but I think I'm too attached to it. I'm thinking about getting him a shorter wig...I think the super long one does not really fit into his personality very well...


Fourth, my B&G Celia whom I've only had for about six months. I already had a general idea of what I wanted her to be, so it didn't take long to get her eyes and wig sorted out. I really wanted her to be kind of goth-loli, though, and it's nearly impossible to find clothes like that for her size. So, for now, she's just normal, adorable lolita


My B&G Sapphira, she's been here just shy of two months. I already had her wig planned, but her eyes are still uncertain. I've replaced her defaults, and these are definitely better, but I'm not sure if they're perfect. I'm thinking I might enhance her default face-up a bit, since the B&G make-up artist changed and my girl came home looking way too natural...she needs some blush or eyeshadow, or something!


Last but not least, my Leile who came as a free gift with my Sapphira. Since she was a free gift, I didn't plan for her at all. She came with a pair of eyes, which I will probably change. I made her a white yarn wig, but I think I'd like for her to be a brunette. Also, she clearly needs a face-up heh. I'm waiting until it gets warmer to attempt one. Not sure what kind of face-up it will be, but I'd really love for her to have freckles

 

Both my dolls have gone through a few looks. Some of my photography is really bad, so bear with me (most of it is good, because I'm not the one with the camera, but early photos were me).

First Khorae at her box opening with IH default smokey eye faceup and wrong wig and eyes.


Then, with a better wig in the right color and new eyes that were way too dark, and some edits to the faceup to match said wig.


Another wig and finally the right eyes for her!! Same faceup.


Then, I went for broke a couple weeks ago and had Rosslyn wipe her faceup entirely, mod her nose so it was less pointy, pierce her ears, and then give her the face to fit the character. I am soooo happy with it!! She finally looks how I saw her in my head!



And now, Briar's turn. First, she arrived blank, so her first faceup was by me, giving her maximum sulk. I loved it, but it wiped off all the time, especially off of her pouty lip. The eyes she came with were brown and they fit her, so I have never wanted to find another pair.


After making her a pretty new dress so she wouldn't have to wear that pink thing again (wasn't her). This was taken while trying to find the right fur fabric to make her a wig.


Finally, annoyed with her faceup constantly coming off and my shaky hands not getting things tiny enough, I handed her over to Rosslyn. I did make the wig though, so here is her transformation. Her faceup was redone once after this but it was to match it, so this is almost exactly the same.


Now that I look at it, I can tell what my favorite makeup styles are, by how my dolls' faces evolved and became right for them. I do like the classy lady look.

 

Edit: I think that this might get moved somewhere but, here's one of mine. This teeny girl started out as a helpless little waif and looked so miserable that I listed her in the marketplace.





Then I had a dream about her and when I woke up, I repainted her and changed her to this. (slight nudity warning)

Sakuma Ryuichi has changed so much in the year I've had him that he's barely recognizable.

March 16th, 2010CE
When I first received Ryuichi's head [Doumo arogato, Java-Wolf!] he had the factory faceup, which I loved, but it wasn't Sakuma Ryuichi's face. The brown fur wig was my first attempt at making a 1/3-sized wig, and it came out pretty good.


I only chose this pic so that his pierced ears could be seen. I did them myself!


The "auburn wig" phase. It was a longer wig, but I chopped off the ponytail since it made Ryuichi look girly. I was trying to find a wig that matched the red hair he has in the OVA. *fail* Needless to say that this phase didn't last very long.


Ryuichi's first green wig that I bought off the MP. Its too short and the wrong shade, but its green!


Mere moments before the infamous faceplant that caused me to have to sand down the point on Ryuichi's nose. I also had to sand down the nose on his Dreaming Shiwoo head [serious mode expression] so that when the eyes are modded, the noses match. I think that he looks better with the sanded nose, to tell the truth


The better green wig that I bought from Skookum Hime. Ryuichi wore this one for MONTHS!


Ryuichi's current faceup by Gennifer Bones. This is the second one, the first one she did was too pink.


Ryuichi's new Fairyland wig, which is also his first fiber one. I LOVE it, but its too light green. I have a feeling he'll end up with this one for a while before I find the medium olive one he's supposed to have. He's also wearing a pair of Souldoll eyes that are too small and the wrong shade of blue. He'll need a new faceup to match this wig until I find that perfect wig too.


At least he nearly looks like he does in 'Gravitation'! I used the anime for his coloration, and the TV series, the OVA and manga for everything else, along with my own touches from the 'Gravitation' RP I roleplay him in. Sumimasen for the large pics. Ryuichi's still a WIP, but its been fun to re-create my favorite anime/manga character in resin! Its also been fun to post his evolution! Doumo arigato, OP for starting this thread!

This is the latest pic of Ryuichi. He's had this faceup for nearly a year now so he needs a new one, but I really love it! I need to find an artist that can redo it so that it looks similar, but better! His hands, which you can't see in this pic, are jointed Dika hands, which I adore! His eyes are handmade glass ones I bought off of ebay. They match the anime color perfectly!

This is Ryuichi as he looks now. I LOVE this faceup from sasukekun6! Believe it or not, his eyebrows match his wig, but for some reason, his wig always photographs as grayish. *shrug* I made the leather pants he's wearing, along with a matching leather vest.

I'd almost say that Ryuichi is 90% perfect at this point. He still needs more rings on his fingers, a darker olive-colored fiber wig and a few other things. Not bad, considering that I've had him complete (head and body together) since March 16th, 2010CE.



The [floating] Dreaming Shiwoo head that was supposed to be his serious!mode head ended up becoming Etsuko/Aesha, his twin sister. She's an OC from one of the Gravitation RPs I'm in.

I realized as I was updating that this is the only thread where I go back and update it every time Ryuichi changes. Its fun to see how much he has changed!
