Post a random fact about you

Jan 24, 2017

    1. ZOMG that same thing happened to my younger sister though hers mostly look kind greenish rather than grey.

The most random fact I can think of about me is that I sweat coffee... so much that from my morning cup of joe I can get a coffee mustache later that evening. :P

    7. I'm an illustrator by study, a published comic artist, but I hardly do art anymore after art school burnt me out. Now I work as a receptionist and do art on the side ^_^

    10. I'm an illustrator, and the first person on either side of my family to have teal/gray eyes in almost 6 generations :3

    11. I'm a quilter. I just learned about 3 years ago and it sorta took over my life for awhile. I've finally been taking a break from it now since the first of the year.

    12. I'm massively into video games, I own over 100 for the PC alone due to discount websites like humble bundle. But Zelda is my favorite series ever, and probably the only reason I bother getting consoles at all sometimes.

    13. I'm right handed, but can write fairly nearly with my left hand. This is partially due to being REALLY bored in fifth grade, and partially due to the fact that I have carpal tunnel in my right wrist.

    14. I feel you on that. I taught myself to write upside down in elementary school cuz I was bored out of my mind.

    18. I'm going to Disneyworld this summer for the first time in 20 years, and I'm stupid with excitement over it. Way more excited than my child.

    19. I've been obsessed with fanfiction for almost twenty years now. Reading it, writing it. Especially writing it. Never mind that I should be writing original stuff I can actually attempt to publish, I ALWAYS migrate back to fanfiction.

On the plus side, it's sure given me lots of experience and improvement in my writing skills. If I ever actually finish a novel, it might even be good enough to publish. :XD:

    22. I've worked two "real jobs" in my life - putting up inventory at a national book chain for a season and, currently, as a security guard.

("Not real jobs" include: research assistant, once for a major court case, a cleaning job where I wound up getting paid 500$ for an hour's worth of work, and translating a 17th century French document.)

    23. I go to see Rocky Horror Picture Show shadowcasts every year with my mom and some of our friends! We dress up, have fun, throw things, and yell at the screen. It honestly makes me appreciate the fact that I have live theater in my town.

    31. I love bugs. Well, c'mon *avatar*
I mean, I'm totally fascinated by most of them. If I take a glimpse of something small wandering around I already grab my camera and start searching about species and habits. I'm particularly fond of beetles and cicadas.

The knowledge may sound odd but I already learned so much about benefic bugs! For example, I didn't know that many flies are predators of aphids, caterpillars, or that some are pollinators :D

    32. I do too! I love video games!

    33. I had this big strawberry birthmark on my forehead when I was born. It eventually faded (and I no longer see or feel any traces of it), but everyone in my family seems to have had the infamous baby portraits of me in a little white lacy outfit, sporting my unicorn horn (that's what my family called it:XD:) proudly.

Me, though...I just want to destroy all the picture evidence:mwahaha

    41. @kurogane Those IT trailers scare the crap out of me and I don't have a clown phobia. *hugs*

    42. omg I'm terrified of clowns as well, I love going to the circus but as soon as a clown comes out I start to freak out :sweat Hilariously though I love jester and clown BJDs!

    43. @Magical Rin me too! I'm working on a Pierrot character for one of my bjds. But seeing a clown in RL, or a in a scary movie, the stuff of nightmares!

    44. I have a strange sinus issue where if I have a coughing fit, I immediately start sneezing afterwards. Somehow the coughing triggers me to sneeze. My husband thought I was faking it for a long time...until our two year old started doing it too. Whoops, guess it's hereditary!

    49. I have a genetic immunity to morphine. I found out the hard way in recovery from surgery. I got 4 times the normal dose within about 15 minutes and they might as well have been shooting me up with tap water. I then needed to ride out the pain because the doctor had concerns about drug interactions if they gave me something else to kill the pain. That was unpleasant.

Fun fact! My son has likely inherited the immunity from me and discovered in basic training in the army that he is immune to tear gas, which may be related to the morphine immunity.

    54. As someone who makes BJD outfits, I use velcro because few other things work nearly so well at 1/4 and even 1/12 scale. I sincerely and unsarcastically invite you to try doing buttons or zippers less than two inches long, and if you figure it out come and tell the rest of us how. We don't use it cuz we like it!;)

    55. I thought exactly the opposite when I got an outfit for my doll "velcro! Woah awesome!" lol! I think mini zippers or buttons are more likely to break, make it unconfortable to put it on and off.. And plus, with velcro you can adjust a bit better the clothes in my opinion. So this could be a little random fact about me: I like velcro a lot :XD:

    56. I agree with Rosslyn above. To me, I judge the quality of an outfit by the sewing skills in things like seams, hems, fabric choices, etc. Things that show. But if an outfit opens in the front, I usually do snaps, but they're hidden, and then sew buttons on over the snaps.
My pet peeve with doll clothes is if they have buttons that are out of scale. I bought a shirt from Alice Collections and the buttons were huge. (Sorry for the rant).

Fact about me: I'm retired from a career doing costume design for theater and tv. I can sew for my dolls, but would much rather buy from other people, cuz I'm lazy.

    57. I did not mean to offend people that use velcro. I just really don't care for it even though I have some dolly outfits with Velcro on it. I also said pricey outfits. I remember dolly clothes before Velcro when people used snaps, buttons, hook& eye, etc. To me, it's like buying a $60 shirt only to find that the button placket has Velcro underneath. No!

    58. I do the same thing, and I had no idea there was a name for it. I'm fair skinned and blonde, with light blue eyes, which I've heard is the reason I'm super sensitive to light. Sudden exposure to bright sunlight makes me sneeze. Also I like being in a dark room. Everyone thinks I'm hurting my eyes, but if there are bright lights my eyes start watering and I can't see.

    59. I was on the radio cuz I jokingly entered a contest to get concert tickets and I actually won
