Posing request: ones you had to cheat to get!

So many of these pictures are absolutely stunning! I love them!



So you can't see it, but I had to hold Meri up with my foot to keep her from toppling face-first into Altair's lap. Most of that shoot actually had hands and feet inching in at the edges to keep them from falling or leaning out of the shot!

 

The boys couldn't support her weight on their own



So we decided to help (by tying their hands together XD)

 

Here I held him and his right arm...

 

my husband was holding her legs while she stood on his chest. the camera was litterally on his nose.

 

Here's a shot of Jared sitting on the hand rail of a ramp. He can't really balance on it so my friend had to hold on to his head while I took the photo. He IS holding his skateboard by himself though, which is kinda cool.

Amazing thread, here's my Ares, ID soom Photon, with Keir, ID soom Hyperon owned from my sister $abbatha, both cannot really stand on their own such close, so me and my twinny helped them to hold their pose such closely:

One of my soccer Eurocup shoots features some pictures in which my dolls had a little help in keeping a certain position:

Shinta is sitting on something to maintain his position to catch the ball.

In this one, I was holding Saito's body and photographed his great footwork

This was 'my little samurai playing soccer'

 

I was actually holding her ankles so she wouldn't slide down while I took this picture.

Behind the scene. Donny (the head) is tied and hanging from a doll stand, with putty and a toothpick keeping his head open.

 

Mine's rather unadventurous - but like many others, she can't really hold her hand like this!

 

I had to hold both their legs with one hand while taking the picture with the other, it was pretty hard because Dayreth(right) was strung really loose at the time, I also had to use tack to make Zehelico hold his dagger

 

Amir couldn't hold the phone to his ear, so there's a teeny clear hair tie rubber banding his elbow in that position. lol

 

Reinette's thighs are tied to her torso with yarn!

 

I'm having to hold Schuyler up, he kept sliding down.

 

Here are my cheats

Took a lovely set of photos of my girl undressing:

She's leaning and I held her from the back with my right hand while taking the photo.

This is one of my nicest photos - Pyrope throws little Coye into the air. I'm holding Coye from his right ankle. It really seems that he's flying.

 

For my Soom Glot (Brynn) opening, my Pipos Robin (Kuina) would not stand up the way I wanted her to, so I'm holding her feet out-of-shot.

This is such a nice picture (all of them in fact ^^), I love the way your doll is in mid-walk stride. I have often wondered how some doll poses were done, since it seemed they were capable of the widest range (which they are, they trick was that they could manage to hold those poses.) Nice job!

 

Tama kicks frequently and he didn't hold this pose I wanted to see so I put transparent stickytape around his elbow:

 

Loulou may seem to hold the tulip under her arm, but actually the tulip is the only thing holding Little Miss Floppy up in this shot.

I angled the camera so my hand would be out of the shot, but there's no way Cerise would have stayed on that skinny stem if I hadn't held her feet >x>; Actually, a lot of my doll-with-flowers pictures a taken while Iwas holding her feet, since htey're too high up for her to stand and be level with them exe;

Vida seems to stand on one feet, but actually she stand still as the heel of her shoes is stuck between the wall and the base which she's on.

 

Ok, ok... I'll tell. Alot of people have asked....
I tied a piece of clear monofiliment line around her neck and my DH is holding her up with the other end of the line tied to a dowel.

I might have been able to do this without cheating, but in the end, I ran out of time and patience.

It's a standing pose, so Issachar, my Kamau, needed to be able to hold little Gabe in his arms, and for that, his arms had to stay locked in front of him. There is a rubber band attached to Issachar's left wrist which goes under his coat, around his body and the other end is wrapped around his left thigh. The thigh can't be seen in the photo - the rubber band that was in evidence by his hand was edited out.

 

Love the photo of the doll holding cigarette, the warm lighting looks realistic. Beautiful photography.
I think you've done well with the paper falling to the floor as well.

He's actually got a rubber band wrapped around the arm holding the cigarette to keep his arm in place since he can't actually hold that pose. Then I just shopped it out.

 

Marsyas Creeping towards a hiding Hujoo for a photostory. I was holding onto his butt, which is out of frame. uvu

 

Another:
Vallewida holding a scared Marsyas and Clarett. He could aaaalmost hold their weight, but he wasn't quite strong enough. Impressive, an SD and a tiny! I was holding Marsyas's legs onto Vallewida's, you can kind of see my hand at the bottom.

 

i used a rubberband / hair tie to keep Tomo's arms in this pose while i held the camera, since she is not posable enough to naturally hold this position:

Well actually he could balance the camera, just not the way I wanted in the picture above.

 

His arms held the pose but I had to tape a wad of paper under his butt and used a black silicon hairwrap to hold his thighs together. This is a little more risque that the other cheats.

Tian Shi couldn't stand up while carrying BaoBao so I'm holding his calf. XD At least BaoBao stayed on his back with no help!

 

I'm holding him round the waist to try to make him look as if he's mid-jump - then I've combined this in Photoshop with a second pic of the background without anything in front of it and masked out my hand...

Wiishu's an incredible poser, but because I'm always on my own, I'll use cheats to make sure he doesn't fall while I'm taking the shot. Here, from my first photoshoot with him, he was able to hold the pose, but for security, I let his finger touch the wall:


He needed a little help to fly:


Note the stand is actually helping him hyper-extend his kick-leg.



and then there's the old "holding with one hand, shooting with the other and a bit of quick and dirty photoshopping before posting. Heaven forfend I should be smart enough to take a "without wiishu" photo. I do my stories fast and furiously as he "talks" to me, one moment to the next, so the setup is virtually nonexistent. My goal is the story, not perfect photography. I'm not a good example!

 

They're (kind of obviously) leaning against a chair and if I remember right my husband was supporting them somewhere (it was a long time since I'd done this photo lol)

 

Rubber band around the stock and his shoulder, wire in the elbows, and sticky tak on his left hand to hold it to the gun.
And it STILL looks awkward. :P

My Mabel needed help to do this photo because she badly needed to be restrung. Thanks to body maintenance seminar at Dollism I was able to restring and hot glue her just in time since her elastic was attached only by a thread. Now she can even stand alone for the first time ever!

The ones in which her arm is "holding" the camera are the ones I have to cheat to get, since she can't keep her arms raised at this height. ;-;

So many cheats, so little photo....

Aura is standing on a magnetic tin because she just couldn't balance on the windowsill. (And the OT doll, Caroline, is being held up by a bottle of guinea pig vitamins.) She's also "holding" the fishing rod thanks to some silicone eye putty. And the fishing line is sewn to the drapes because there's no hook.

 

Looks to me like she is standing on her own but no....she is heavily leaning on the black stool behind her >.<
