She's gorgeous! I love everything about her and her wig is very cool. I really like the dolls that show teeth. Blue Jay is one of my favorites as well. I guess there may be a chance that she'll be made with open eyes too.

I have a request for the lucky doll owners, could someone post a photo of how the ballet feet look in a flat foot pose? I was wondering if they can wear a flat shoe other than a ballet shoe. Thanks!

Ok I think I too can be added to the fan list of these amazing dolls!!! I am officially going to save for a girl.
Could anybody please tell me if the girl in the make-up section numbered m-24 is Cuckoo or Blue Jey?
They are so similar I just can't be 100% sure and I am smitten with her.

I have another question that someone may be able to answer for me (with out me having to bother Igor) ... I know the dolls do not stand with out the shoes but does anyone know if they stand ok with the shoes? Does it bother you that they can not stand with out?

I really love these girl and am saving for one... which one I can not decide

 

Poordittums, I have no experience with the high heel feet, but I haven't been able to successfully balance my girls with ballet feet, while wearing shoes. In any case I think it would be much too precarious to risk such an expensive doll falling. Much better to place her on a stand or pose her seated. For the purpose of photography, where a stand may not be desirable, the dolls can be suspended or secured with nylon thread that can be photoshopped out. It doesn't bother me in the least that the dolls can't stand without aid, because there are ways around it. You only need to check out the Sister's amazing photos to see just how much creativity in posing can be achieved with Popovy dolls.

 

Hi merrijane thank you for your feedback! I have been doing some "extensive" research on the girls over the past few days lol, (here, FB, Popovy Doll Society, Blog etc) and it seems as though everyone is saying the same thing about how wonderfully they pose and the fact that they don't really stand is not an issue.
You are right, it would be crazy to risk her falling in her shoes... the shoes are such a lovely accessory though.

I do think I have narrowed it down and I now know which girl I want to save up for ... Peewit!

 

I have to admit that when I first got my girl, it did bother me that she couldn't stand on her own feet. Whilst looking at photos of these dolls, I never realized that the dolls never stood up. Most dolls are posed sitting or lying down. So it never occurred to me that they weren't able to stand up at all. I still think it's a pity that they can't stand on their own feet but I've learned to accept it. Their amazing posing does make up for this.

 

Yeh it was a little surprising to me at first also... only because they are very expensive dolls. You would expect them to be able to stand when you are paying so much for them.

I love her lips and profile... she is beautiful

 

They can stand on their own wearing shoes, sisters did it for photo shoot some time ago. But it's difficult to balance them cause they are high heel or ballet feet
You can't pose feet in flat position cause it'll look unnatural, Sisters always go for aesthetics and this was their choice.

Thank you for answering this question, Sisters. I have never really tried to pose your dolls standing alone. There seem to be so many other options because they pose so well. It is good to know that, if I ask them to, they would accommodate my request. I should have known full well that your dolls would be capable in every aspect. )

 

I just love their bodies... the way the stomach is formed, the hip bones and rib cages... they are just so fragile like

 

They may appear to be very fragile, but I'm not easy on my dolls and the PDs stand up very well to play. They will do whatever you ask of them. )

 

That photo really makes me long for my girl to be home. I should get my shipping notice soon!

 

wow I'm so glad I saw this thread and was introduced to these dolls. they're amazing.

they look like they're inspired by real models to me? little owl is dead on Devon Aoki, and I'm getting a little Lindsay Wixon from cuckoo. magpie puts me in mind of Ayumi Seto as well. maybe? maybe I'm making connections between things I enjoy lol.

I'm excited for the people ordering them!!

Oh my gosh! Did you see the preview of the sisters newest line of the Royals? The Albino Queen is gorgeous! So very cool! I LoVE that the sisters believe in making their dolls available.

I can't wait to see the rest of the new line. Poordiddums, I love Peewit too. I'm leaning towards her as well. But can't make the move right now.

 

I have to ask, those of you who have ordered a wig from the Sisters are you happy with it? Do they fit well, keep their style and stay on the head etc?
They are amazing but I have to research them a bit before spending big money on one
