Do you think someday you'll release Blue Jey/Jay as an open-eyed sculpt? Currently, I'm torn between Little Owl and Peewit, and Blue Jey would probably split the tie, since she has such a lovely face.

As for Blue Jay with open eyes, that is highly demanded option. We have it in plans, but don't know when it's gonna happen. There are so ma y new things we want to make !

I just acquired a stunning Popovy head that has an older custom face-up that I would like to freshen up. Can anyone recommend someone for a custom face-up? I live in the US, but would be willing to work with the right artist overseas...

 

May I ask what the circumference of her head is for a wig?

 

Do you have another photo of her out of the box?

 

I have mine wearing a wig from Monique, size 4/5 and it fits pretty well.

Hi, all! I was wondering if anyone had pictures of the Popovy girls with any male MSD sculpts?

 

aaah i just found these beauties and fell in love! those wigs are mad gorgeous, and gosh, those sculpts, those shoes, those outfits..theyve definitely made my grail list, im breathless T_____T aah i just want to gush about them though i suppose thatd be preaching to the choir!! i love blue jay, ah what i would give for one with glass eyes!

 

I know Callipygous, these dolls take my breath away as well! I ordered one a few months ago and am anxiously awaiting her arrival. Probably a couple more months to go! I’ll post pics as soon as she gets here

Thank you both. Most of the time I see posts of Peewit and Little Owl, so I was happy to see your post photo4sure, that you had ordered Cuckoo! Can't wait to see her.

 

It takes a practice in patience, as the process of completing the ordered dolls takes around 5 months depending on how busy sisters are. But it has allowed me to save a bit more money, because I know that when my doll arrives I will be so excited I’ll want to place an order for a second one!

I especially love the skin and hair combination of your girl on the far left! Is she (and I guess your other lighter ladies) in the Ivory skin tone? They are all lovely!

If I owned one of these girls, I would enjoy making delicate clothes and shoes for them (maybe I'll do it someday).

I'm going to wait as long as I can to buy one of these girls (if I ever do) in hopes that they release the Blue Jay head with open eyes - which would be my first choice. I like Peewit and Little Owl a lot, but Blue Jay has such a pretty mouth!

 

Hello guys ! I've nearly all the money aside to order a Landy

I have a question for those of you who got the gorgeous Popovy blushing : is it very fragile or is it pretty lasting (for as much a blushing can be anyway)?
As in can you carefully dress your doll or even the slightest rubbing would chip it ?

 

@StellaMarigold Blue Jay is a lovely sculpt, always one of my favourites!

@Sept in my experience the Sister’s blushing is quite robust and doesn’t easily rub off. They use a special technique which seems to make it last longer. Of course, you still need to exercise care whilst handling the dolls and I would recommend wearing cotton gloves. But I’ve had my first girl for 5 years now and I haven’t noticed any wear at all to her blushing.

 

The blushing on my girl's neck rubbed off a bit, and some of her face rubbed in transit to me. I believe it was because when customs took her out of the box, she was put back in her box face down!

 

Oh no, @theresa 226 It's sad to hear customs was so rough with her.

I'm encouraged to hear your blushing has lasted so well, @merrijane . Do you pose or handle her often? I don't have a Popovy yet (I'm still in the dreaming phase) but I would love to have one to make costumes for and photograph. I absolutely love the Popovy Sisters' faceup and blushing, but I'm terrified of ruining it over time.

@HelloJaska I don’t handle her regularly, but I have made clothes, hat, gloves, stockings and shoes for her and photographed her on and off over the years without incident. As I mentioned before, I do recommend wearing cotton gloves and I always make sure never to touch her faceup. I now have four Popovy dolls, all with the Sister’s faceups and blushing and only one has a little chip off her knee blush. But she arrived to me that way, so I’m guessing it may have happened during transit. Hope this helps with your decision.

I just went to some of the gallery links and found the molds. I had no idea they had multiple versions of the bodies with different mobility pieces! That's amazing.
I definitely need to learn more about the popovy dolls.

Does anybody have a popovy with the version Body 3 ?

Hey there! I collect SD dolls, but I love Popovy sisters, all of their sculpts are stunning!
But I was wondering if anyone knows, are they supposed to be sculpts of well known models?
Little Owl reminds me of Devon Aoki and Peewit reminds me of Gemma Ward.
But I didn't know if this was done on purpose or not! Does anyone know?

 

@Viivi I'm not sure if it was intentional but I definitely see the resemblance.

I just confirmed my order for an ivory Little Owl and I'm absolutely giddy! I ended up going the newest body with magnetic hands and will have her painted by the Sisters.

Please tell us later, how do you find the handling with magnetic hands. It is an useful feature while changing her clothes.
The blushing of Popovy Sisters ist just superb, you will be happy with it. ^^

 

Thank you! It'll be about 4 months before I get her, but I'll make sure to keep you all posted. I really debated on whether or not to do magnetic hands, but ultimately decided on convenience. I hope it was the right call

 

I feel a little silly replying to this thread again so soon, but I'm so antsy waiting for my Popovy!
Does anyone have measurements for the new Landy body? I'd love to start making clothing for her.

The new translucent body is very interesting. Looking forward to seeing more of it! That wig is one of my favorites, too. It looks beautiful in every color I've seen it - pink, blonde, black.

I don't have a Popovy myself yet, but I've been desperately wanting one for several months. I'm leaning towards Little Owl in pearl grey to start with. She would eventually need a few sisters as well...

If anyone has a Popovy in grey skin tone, I would love to see photos.

Has anyone ever ordered a Popovy in translucent skin and does it cost extra besides the usual $800??
Also do you have any owner pictures?

 

It has not yet been released. noone has it yet. It will be more expensive due to difficult casting process.
