My new mini-Riz has a name! She wants to be called Anji (AWN-jee) which means "angel" in Greek and "offering with both hands" in Sanskrit. I think she is going to have a very loving, giving personality. She has a new pair of eyes, a Tinybear wig and a Hanunted Dollhouse dress on the way. Now all she needs is a faceup! *gulp* She'll be my first attempt at one of my own so I hope she stays true to her name! LOL!

Oh, wait - she needs shoes too! Any suggestions?

Too bad I just ordered an MSD head. :< I've been admiring this sculpt FOREVER, and i think just reading through a good chunk of this thread has pushed me over the edge. Now... I just hope I can wait long enough from my last purchase to justify it monetarily. >> Ha ha...

Luarwulf, I was lucky - I fell upon a brand new mini-Riz at a great price on the Marketplace and the seller was willing to do a short layaway for me. I had been looking at this sculpt for a few months, also.

I might try a faceup on my somewhat larger faced Ange Ai first . . .

 

Luarwulf, you must get a Mini Planetdoll eventually!
they are fab! and they, by BJD 'standards' are SO very affordable! I know that DDE carries them and can do layaway

and I don't think I've seen any two Planetdolls come out anywhere near the same as eachother yet! that boggles and amazes me to no end, they each have their 'own' self!

 

I'll get one. D: I will I will! The pictures are just astounding and I've completely fallen for her.

I've been looking at the marketplace and there are a few WS dolls, but I really want to try a NS. And ... they're kind of marked at company price or even a good chunk above company price (which i don't understand the seller's reasoning at all but hey i don't have to buy from those people) >>

 

Often times, the seller adds the cost of a custom faceup to the price, which could be the reason for being over the basic PD cost.

 

Still, though... I'd just wipe it anyway. It's not worth paying more for a used doll than one I could get new. D:

This may be posted somewhere but I'm still new to trying to find things on this board so I apologize in advance. Are there any sources for jeans for the Mini gals? And who has the best sneakers for them? My girls have lots of my old Barbie things, but I can't seem to find jeans and sneakers. Thanks for any suggestions.

 

Hmmm, I'd say your best bet would be Spampy for some made-to-fit jeans, and Zozolala if she sews jeans?

my crew have a few sets of the My Scene clothes that fit pretty well, but it's hit or miss on store bought pants

Thanks, DaisyDayes, I'll give Spampy a try. So far I don't think Zolala has done jeans for these little ones, but we can hope.

And I must say, your little Charlie brings a smile to my lips just looking at all the photos you've posted!

 

BTW, DaisyDayes, have you sent PlanetDoll a pic or two of Charlie with an explanation of how/why you modded a mini-Roseanne to create him?

They fit pretty well but the waist doesn't have an opening which is weird. They do slip over the hips fine and it comes with the belt which helps to cinch it tighter. Here is a picture of my girl wearing them.

I didn't realize that PD was making a mini boy, I love it! I have several boy dolls in my collection, none of which are BJD, so I will definitely be putting him on my wish list.

 

Charlie had a rough day today...out of nowhere I stole his boy from him and took him apart! (The horrors of being a doll in this house!)



and even though I returned him in better condition than before...well...he didn't appreciate the scare

I finished my PD Renee. I posted pics in the gallery, but I am not sure how many actually look there.. Here she is, I hope you all like her.. She is my fave!!!!

Congrats Oliveoil on ordering Renee. I haven't seen any of PDs faceups on these small girls but I'm pretty sure they've been doing faceups on the larger girls for a while if that helps.

I just bought a mini-Renee off the Marketplace. She's has white skin with faceup and body blush and I can't wait to get her!

Sadly that means my mini-Riz is going to have to be re-homed, but I'm sure I'll find a good one for her! These dolls are just too adorable to resist!

Addie is going to be playing a different part coming up, so we were working on her 'screen test' to see how her face-up and hair worked in sepia



I think I'll be doing the same leg mods to her as Charlie, she's no where near as easy to pose as he is (plus she needs her ankles slimmed down)

 

You need to do a tutorial on that leg mod you keep referring to, DaisyDayes. My Renee poses well enough, but becomes inexplicably kicky at times.

Also, while Addie's faceup looks right, she might need a slightly darker blond wig. . . .

 

LOL! Yeah, maybe I'll try and take some pictures when I do Addie's thighs, I'm gonna wait on those as PlanetDoll's resin makes my throat sore no matter what I do to avoid it, her ankles are nice and slim already though, as of five minutes ago *blows dust off the dremel*

I think you're right about the wig, I might get the pastels out and play with it like I did Rin's wig! it's raining here off and on (and hailing yesterday, wtf?) so I'm really happy to have the excuse to take the weekend off from casting and play with my dolls!

 

Mini Renee arrived today and thought you would all like to see the PD face up. I love it. I actually love her ears.
I highly recommend the PD Face up! Here she is!

Yesterday I received my new Renee (that I purchased from Playdate). She has a lovely soft faceup and body blushing. I'm thinking about taking her on my trip with me next week so I can get some nice outdoor pics.

The dress is a vintage home made dress for a 1950's Revlon doll. I bought it years ago on Ebay for Tiny Kitty. I long sold my TK collection but loved this dress and kept it. So glad I did!

OliveOil Oh wow, your new Renee is sooooo pretty. I really like how they painted her lips. She looks like she's waiting for a kiss. I need to play with my Renee again. I've been so neglectful of her lately.
