Pipos Charlotte Discussion: clothes, shoes, and anything else!

Aisu, your pictures are GORGEOUS.
I've been thinking about buying Charlotte lately and this is really starting to convince me. A bit sad to have missed out on this limited one, but the white one with makeup is really growing on me.

The dress your friend made is fabulous. I adore it!

 

Wow! I am waiting for my doll from Pipos, but from looking at the measurements, it seems like aBarbie outfit would be too small in the waist to fit--Barbie has a wasp waist....is there a trick to it, or can I make my vintage Barbie patterns up for her in advance and have them fit? thanks, Penne

 

I have bought barbie clothes for my charlotte and they fit fine. But she can't wear dresses that are super tight in the "bottom" area... Charlotte's is quite a bit bigger then barbies! LOL!!! The waist part is a tiny bit snug, but still fits... at least with the dresses I tried. Hope that helps!

 

I've also tried vintage barbie stuff (and even vintage Sindy, and "clone" stuff ) on my Charlotte and I agree with Britt -- the waist is snug and you might have to be careful putting it on, but as long as it isn't a sheath dress or doesn't have a pencil skirt type bottom, you should be okay.

So you should be able to use the patterns -- and maybe it would be good to wait and add just a bit (maybe just even 1/4 an inch) in the waist . . . . But I don't sew, so take all "sewing advice" from me with a very large grain of salt! LOL

 

Apparently Pipos is working on a new faceup for Charlotte! I wanted to purchase a basic one, but noticed the faceup option was not longer available. I asked them about it (mostly to have an idea of how long the faceup option would be sold out for) and they replied with this:

>The make-up option will be sold-out for a while.
>Because we plan to re-design the make-up ^^
>And now we're working on last time limited dolls.
>So, we don't tell the time yet.. We need to ship the orders first.

That's exciting! I wonder what it will look like. Though considering the amount of LE they have to go through, I'm assuming that means no faceup on basic Charlotte for a few months, maybe? I'm not sure how long it takes them, but I'm guessing it might be a while (AND they have to re-design it to boot). We'll see!

Thanks for the sewing input..I kind of knew it really wasn't a good idea to put a lot of energy into anything without either a dedicated pattern or the animal herself so that I could make the pattern..

I just can't wait...have so many ideas...see her in 1940's and earlier stuff....

I just received my charlotte yesterday and... Wow. I am absolutely floored by this girl! She is an AMAZING sculpt!

I bought some barbie clothing (1956 vintage barbie remake at a thrift store) for her in advance and the bathing suit fits her, but just barely. It makes her look kinda chunky, in a really cute way, and the bust is too large for her. The other one will not fit her without some alterations. Still, Shes stunning in ways I never even thought possible. Sometimes after getting a doll I think about how much I spend and feel guilty, but I can't do that with her. Shes too amazing and worth everything I paid!

Hey guys, I take it the Barbie clothing for Charlotte only fits body wise? I would imagine it would be way too long length wise?

Also is the R.Pi measurement way off from standard YoSD measurement? Trying to find clothes is too hard xD

 

Weird question, but is it possible to "add" to the basic face up without wiping it ALL clean?
I'm waiting on a basic grey Charlotte and I just really love those two "dots" above her eyes in the LE... but I don't see myself removing all of it in order to just add those, haha. I'm kinda clueless when it comes to face up.

Such a small detail looks like it can't be THAT hard to do (then again, what do I know)!

** Actually, think I might just go for a custom face up!

Oh, no, you CAN order her blank (as a matter of fact, it's all you can order currently. They took down the faceup option). But I bought her second hand since she came with the D.Charlotte limited dress. I've been toying with the idea of designing something more whimsical for her (like the LE faceup) since I'm not sure if the basic will ever grow on me.

If you wanted a blank one yourself, you can grab one in either white or grey! They're both offered.

 

Well I got my basic Charlotte in today and I had to post here to say that the basic faceup is SO MUCH more gorgeous in person! I think pictures just don't do it enough justice. It's totally not what I expected and I was pleasantly surprised by how lovely it actually is! It's much more detailed than I thought it would be. Never thought I'd love it this much!

DanceCat, oh I know! It's so hard to chose between those two! Always knew I would end up with both white and grey! But hey, nothing wrong with having lots of cats!

oh wow Charlottes looks so amazing! Now I really want one. I've wanted a tiny doll for a while that I can practice faceups and tattoos on, and the basic Charlotte may be perfect.
Does anyone know if they can wear wigs? I'm guessing I'd have to slit holes in normal wigs and wig caps, right?

Charlotte was very much enjoying the change from wearing armour all the time and slipping into a very cute dress Also I tried my friend's Iplehouse BID clothing, but they are a bit big on the chest area as well as being very childish in style This purdy Kitty Lady needs some more grown up gowns!

I have this girl on lay away finally! Woooo!
But I have a few questions about her. Which shoe sizes actually fit her, and also, what is the best way to put on her tail. Are you just putting the magnet on the other side of her clothing, or do you actually glue it onto her body somewhere? ^^;

 

I personally taped the magnet to the back of her body. I don't think it would work out too well if you were to simply put it under her clothes. It would most likely move all over the place. Just get some non-residue tape and that should do the trick!

My basic Charlotte came with a pair of shoes but I'm not sure what size they are. ;;;; My O.Charlotte has high heeled feet, but came with separate regular ones. I can try to measure those!

I too am interested to hear what size of shoes Charlotte can wear, as I am going to order one sooner or later. I would love to order one right away but unfortunately I don't have the funds. Hopefully I can order her in a month or two.

 

Has anyone tried putting any Rosen Lied Tuesday outfits on their Charlotte? Interested to see some photos as the style they have is pretty much the ones I want for Elena xD

 

I am looking to purchase a Charlotte in white in a month or so. My question is, does anyone know a good fur face up artist? I have NO ability with fur. I have a Pipos Mango limited face up and adore the heck out of it, and want it not so much copied as inspired by that face up for my Charlotte. I have already had some horrid experiences with getting fur painted on my Pipos Dali by people otherwise able to do beautiful face ups (they just can't do fur at ALL).

Any help? I would like to figure this out before I purchase her so I can streamline the creation process. Thanks!

 

A little bump to ask if anyone has tried Blythe, Obitsu or Pullip clothes on a Charlotte, and with what success? I am thinking that they will be too narrow, but you never know...

I tried some Blythe clothes on my Charlotte and for my surprise they fit! I didn't bother to try any real pants asn those would have not fit at all, but dresses, skirts and tops fit. It's a tight fit with most of them though, but they look alright. Here is a thread of my kitty in her new stolen clothes.

glowinshanka, 3.8cm is about right but these girls have very narrow feet so their feet tend to swim in most YoSD shoes. YoSD boots, however, tend to work ok as long as there's enough length on the boot to hold it on to the leg or it can be laced tightly.

 

I've been waiting to see if I could get a better oportunity to take some good photos of my girls, Andjelina & Andjelica but for the time being here are my Angel sisters both wearing altered blythe dresses (the cap sleeves on the dresses have been altered to fit them).
