Pipos Charlotte Discussion: clothes, shoes, and anything else!

Barbie dresses do fit... I have a few Jenny patterns I will try on her too... I'll post pictures. But yeah Barbie dolls do fit her... not sure about pants but dresses with a good amount of opening in the back will fit her (she's got a bigger butt than barbie LOL)

I am making a few dresses for her so when I am finished I will post pictures.

I also want to try and make a Fer like dress for her... but I need to find a good start up pattern first.

 

A lot of Barbie clothes DO fit, which is nice. ^^ I'm eager to see what you sew, acexkeikai!

She has been on my wishlist for a while now. I am gonna bring her home as my next doll for sure! I'm seriously doomed because I went to DDE, and they let me hold one of their demon dolls. OMG if he's that cute in person, I can only imagine how adorable she's going to be. I really love their size.

 

I am seriously considering getting one of these dolls -- somehow.
More spam might help me make a decision . . .

 

So far my girl only has two dresses; the limited one from Pipos that she came with, and one that my friend made by trial and error with my Charlotte on hand. xD But it came out really good.



That's Satine in the dress my friend made. But her default dress is very versatile; by taking off the corset and replacing it with a ribbon it looks like a whole different dress!

 

I posted this in another thread, but here's my Charlotte in some Barbie clothes.

 

Has anyone found the tail to be an issue? (That's my main concern, I guess).
And the ears remind me of a Chinese hairless, but then I don't know my cat breeds as well as I know my dog breeds.
I just love her in the grey . . . .

 

The tail is actually magnetic, so there's no worry of it fitting through clothing. ^_^

I'm pretty familiar with cat breeds so...

The only breeds that I might could see the ears lending their inspiration from would be the Cornish Rex, Devon Rex or maybe the Sphinx. However, these three do not have the normal fur that other cats have - Devons have a bit of a napped curl, Cornishes just have a thin 'down' coat and Sphinxes are hairless. Still, I do not think Charlotte and Demon are completely modeled after these guys - at least I imagine my limited Charlotte to have luxurious fur due to her striking facial markings and not the strange fur (or lack there of!) that the breeds I listed do have. XD

Actually, you can decide where the tail magnet will go, since as it is optional, you need to affix it to her yourself.

 

Actually, the magnet is loose, so you pretty much would just tape it to the spot just above her butt. There' no place to actually attach it inside her torso.

 

Hey folks! So I see that Honey delf stuff fits her nicely? What about in the way of undies, socks and boots?

 

Being a Sphynx lover myself....I would have loved to have been around for Jack! lol! I love how all the kitty bjd's are naked! I can pretend they are all sphynx . I love Pipos Charlotte, but I think I would prefer the grey one... I would love to see more pictures!

 

I've gone and done it . . . I've just ordered a Charlotte from Pipos! I can't wait to get her as I've got so much LTF/yosd sized clothing, it will be interesting to see what works and what doesn't.

 

She is a gorgeous kitty, I'd be seriously considering ordering her if she had the option of a fully jointed tail like the Cheshires

 

Demon can get away with Ken clothing. He's not as broad in the shoulders as Ken, and the pants are a tiny bit long. I just tucked them under like a hem:

My Charlotte finally arrived yesterday, and I got to open her box this morning. So many things to do, starting with blushing and getting her properly clothed.

 

I received my shipping notice from Pipos today...my Charlotte is on her way . She will be my first BJD to arrive home! I received notice yesterday that the eyes I bought for her (from a different company) has also been shipped out

 

Congratulations, Britt! Your first BJD box opening is always exciting and when it is this doll . .. . !!! Just remember to take and post pictures.

Thank you guys!! My Charlotte is in the US . Hopefully I will get her in the next day or two! I am still waiting for shipping notices on my Catsy and Siamy . I can't wait to do a group shot of my kitty family!

 

I just got the shipping notice for my Charlotte!! ***does little happy dance!**** Hopefully she will arrive by the end of the week (a girl can dream, can't she?) and then I'd have the weekend to take some pictures.

I can't wait to see my Charlotte beside my Catsy -- and my Appini and my Baha!! My guess is, though, she'll take more than one week to get here as we're supposed to get quite a lot of snow over the next 24 hours and Canada Post delivery people don't seem to like working in snow (and who can really blame them). But paws crossed for you Britt . . .and me!!

And Satine is, as always, beautiful. I hope my girl can be just as elegant!

I picked my Charlotte up at the post office today!! She is wonderful, but does take a bit of getting used to. I've spent most of the afternoon trying different clothes on her -- she is so slim!

Her default faceup is wonderful. And as I ordered the beast hands and the tail, the end of the tail is "blushed" a darker grey. I also noted the tail is jointed at the base! I'll show what I mean in photos (when I get around to taking them).

She seems to fit things that fit my Soom Teenie Gem dolls, and LTF clothes are a bit too big. I also found she can fit into clothes made for Sindy, the UK's answer to Barbie (Sindy is a bit wider than Barbie, more realistically proportioned!).

The trouble was, by the time I got her home and finished sorting out possible clothes, I'd used up all my free time! No pictures until tomorrow -- and then I'm out of town for a few days -- so then the rest would have to come later in the week! Sorry!!

 

Okay . . . so I realized how mean it was to say I had picked up my doll and then not provide even one picture!! LOL

So I just ran and took one to show you how pretty she is:



She's wearing a vintage fashion doll gown by a British company called Faerie Glen. I also have it in blue. I'll post a picture in another post to show you what it looks like in full shot.

Spencers_Mom- I love your Charlotte!!!! I didn't really like the default Face-up on the website (seemed to heavy). But I adore it in your photos!! Makes me wished I had got mine blushed!!! She looks beautiful in that color! Does she have a name?

 

Thanks Brit! You are right about the face up . . . I ordered it done as I simply have no artistic talent at all and thought I would risk getting it done for the 20 bucks. I'm glad it turned out, too!

No names have popped into my head yet.. . . Any suggestions anyone?

Faerie glen is vintage -- I don't think the company makes things anymore (and if they were in business, they would be strictly in the UK). I get most of my FG stuff on Ebay (the UK site -- and sometimes the US but you have to know what you are looking for).

And I think you were getting results for the line of "Faerie Glen" statuettes that have come out in the last few years, DanceCat. That's why there were so many results. If you google "faerie glen dolls clothes" you'll be on the right track. The link I've posted are the two that seemed to give you the best info. The rest were largely selling just individual outfits.
I have a number of these outfits and I couldn't get all of them on my Charlotte due to her hand size. So if you do find yourself browsing for them on Ebay or other forum, be careful to pay attion to the sleeve witdth (particularly at the end) if you are buying it for your Charlotte.

 

Maybe I should call her Elizabeth, then?
