Pipos Anthro discussion part 2

Apr 1, 2015

    1. Oh thank you !

The more I look at it the more ridiculous it seems:lol: I guess all the Pangs have heads like this.

    2. Oh wow, that is flat :aeyepop: pangs are so cute from the front but the back of that head really ruins them for me. I'd been half tempted by pang but definitely not now.

    3. Yeah lol. i was planning on her character wearing a hood anyway, so it doesnt bother me that much. But they should def have some photos of that on the site, it was a really weird surprise.

    4. That would be a shock!
Hmmm.... difficult to put a wig on if that was a plan. A hood definitely covers it up nicely though. Good thing!
Wow. O_O I wonder why they never showed that side? I could certainly get used to it, but being surprised with it when you open the box... not nice.

    5. o,O
That would be quite a shock indeed. Not a fan of the profile/back of the head but I think I could forgive it for that sweet face.

    6. My sister calls her "the poor lil smoosh-face":XD:

One more photo for the road before this cutesy faceup goes away. She will be a fierce hunter before long!

    7. Oh cool! I look forward to seeing the new faceup! Sounds like fun!

    8. I think poor little smoosh face is a pretty apt name for her! She is very sweet face on, looking forward to her new fierce faceup though!

On another note, I got notification of my Aloha's shipping today. So excited!

    9. Sooooo Cute!

    10. "Can I have a hug?" :kitty1

    11. Aww, he deserves all the hugs, what a cutie!
I love that outfit, the little bell. Is it part of his fullset?

    12. Thanks!! No...I put the outfit together with a monster high shirt (I sewed on the bell) and some Luts tiny socks! Still looking for some tiny shorts.
The clock came with doll though (along with a kitty collar that was WAY too big!)

      • x 1
    13. I'd be happy to hug this little sweetie! It is a shame about the collar/bow from the fullset because they are both so cute but I have trouble getting them to look right on my ches Valentine. Love the outfit you've put together! I never thought to try Monster High clothing.

    14. May I ask a potentially silly question - is Cheshire Pop Pink the same head sculpt for basic and limited?

    15. stellarphenomena - what a cutie! :D

borxanne - not a silly question. It's the same as far as I know. It's just the face up that makes it look different. :)

      • x 2
    16. Thank you! It's such a drastic difference I couldn't be sure myself.

    17. I hope you don't mind a question does anyone have one of the bunnies? I really need to get a bunny for one of my Alice and Wonderland characters. If anyone has any pics please share them if you wouldn't mind. Thank you.

    18. I see we have found our way here for the same reason!!! I'm searching for the perfect Cheshire Cat however!

    19. @borxanne thats cool so you are looking for a Chesire? I also need a purple Chesire myself to be the animal form of my Soom Chesire Jr.

    20. I have two Pipos Bunnies...a rather mellowed Curo from 2008 on the left and a very new Loa on the right.:) I hope this helps.

He doesn't look so yellowed in real life...Here Curo is after an accidental dunk in the pool. (taken in natural sunlight.)

    21. @PoeticSoul awww your bunnies are so cute. I really love your Curo. He is very lovely and so is your Loa. Yes it does help. Thank you very much. I think I'll start looking for a Curo then.

    22. Thank your sister for me "Poor little smoosh-face" made me laugh so hard. She is so cute, even if that's not what you were going for.

    23. Awww, poeticsoul - I love your Curo!!! He's so cute. So is your Loa. I am still on the fence about some of the new sculpts, but your Loa is cute enough to convince me. :D

I LOVE the Pang's smoosh face! Reminds me of Blythe dolls. The same exact pancake head shape. Pangs will make the perfect companions for my girls.

    24. Man I love Curo, such a cute bunny.

So my Aloha arrived on Saturday. I was sick so off work (what a shame) so got the spend the weekend playing with her. So now she's all dollied up, Fossey want to say "Hi" to all her Pipos family.

Over all I am so happy with her. Her quality is amazing, her colour is lovely, her face is adorable and Pipos's service was great. The only downside is that her body poses beautifully with no head. However as soon as it's on she gets a bit wobbly from how big it is. Anyone else with new sculpts notice this? I'm convinced it's her head but a little part wonders if she needs restringing. Which I'm a bit scared to do at the moment.

That being said I am so pleased I picked her as my first doll :D

    25. Aloha is very-very cute! Congratulations!:love

    26. Awww! I love the dress!

And yes, the frogs are a little fussy to pose due to the big noggin. You can glue suede the joints like the ankles, to help.
Can't remember if I did that for my Tomo or not, but yup, gotta watch the balance with that head.

Hmmmm.... maybe that's why they did Pang's head the way they did? Interesting thought!

    27. Wow that flat Pang head is crazy! Maybe they did that to reduce the weight of the head so it doesnt have a severe balancing issues, like the frogs do. Unless the frogs have flat heads too?

I am seriiiiiously debating getting the Pang Cheshire in white. Ugh it's so tempting except I've already spent way too much lately. Also the scupt is so whimsical where my other dolls are serious so I wonder how he would fit in or if he'd just look strange.

My Majestic sphynx is growing on me. I was so overwhelmed by how huge he was I didn't even like him at first....but I've been sewing clothes for him like crazy and he's grown on me. Im gonna do a photoshoot soon.

Also, in case anyone is curious, the Nine9Style 70cm pants and jacket fit the Majestic body like a dream.

    28. Ooo, good info! Thanks! And I look forward to the photoshoot! :dance
Glad to hear he's growing on you. I do love the big boys.

    29. Hello there, Fossy! Congrats on getting her. :) Interesting to know she has some trouble balancing that head. I love big headed dolls, though it can come at a price when it comes to balance.

I am tempted as well to get a Pang Cheshy as well. One of these days I will probably cave. I am a little hesitant because the aesthetic is so different than my other Pipos dolls. Which is technically okay since I do have a variety of company aesthetics any way, it's just that its so different than what I am used to and loved so much about Pipos. Change can be hard, lol. But, it is an adorable doll. I have plenty of time to decide.

    30. I'm also so tempted the Pang Cheshy! But well, I'm gonna wait, if they would be releasing it in Jr. pi -sized. My cheshire family needs a brother, so that's why smaller one.

    31. The frogs heads are shaped so maybe Pangs head are to help compensate? It would be interesting to know.

    32. A lot of the new dolls are just flat out top-heavy. I know some people in my local doll group who have Happy Line dolls with the large heads, and they almost universally have balancing issues with their heads on. The Happy Line body actually works way better as a taller body to put regular Jr. Pi heads on.

    33. Spent some time this weekend to make my mice something I am really happy with. 2 down, 3 more to go! Blueberry is wearing Asylum Chic (I can't wait to dream up more outfits for him!) and Grape Jelly went from skater to gothic Halloween Industrial. Amazing how you can start out with one idea and suddenly it becomes something totally different! I'm so pleased with them. Though I now want to get them some new eyes. I love what they have, but they need something a little more....spooky! :D I do still need to add the chain to Blueberry's outfit. The one I have went AWOL. So, in the mean time, here's a pic of the 2 together.

    34. Yay for cheesemice! Those outfits are great! I think Grape Jelly's eyes look pretty spooky. Maybe just switch their eyes with each other? Put the blue in Blueberry, and his eyes in Grape?
Congratulations on getting new outfits made! My guys haven't had anything new in a loooong time.

    35. Apple got new eyes today. They're so vibrant that I think she needs new clothes to go with them.

    36. Those are cool! I am sure she is all for new clothes! ;)

    37. She's absolutely adorable and those eyes look so good...what an awesome choice! I'm sure she'd happily be all about a wardrobe expansion.:)

    38. Oh yeah, and with those eyes, anything and everything will "match" them! ;)

    39. Yeah, I was thinking about making her a black denim overall dress with colorful pockets and a cute little shirt underneath stitched with rainbow thread. As long as it's hand-sewing it should theoretically be within my ability to make that small.

    40. Oh wow, Apples eyes are great! Where did you get them?
Just a quick pic for Ninnu and Nannu. Had to take pics with Ipad, so not the best quality.

    41. They're urethane eyes from DollBakery. I bought them during her March order period. Iris, my larger Cheese Mouse is also wearing Dollbakery eyes, though hers are purple. I will say that she makes very nice 10mm eyes. I was surprised at how detailed they were even when they were so tiny.

    42. @aernath - sorry for the delayed thank you! I do love the yes they have, and might play some switcheroos with them. I have some ghostly looking silver glitter eyes that are in my white mouse. She might not want to part with them, but I think they'd look good with the white shirt. :D

@Mizukichama - Apple is, as always, so adorable!!! I love her new eyes. Every little dollie loves new clothes, so I am sure she is thrilled that you are going to make her something new! I hope to see pics of it when you are done!

@chibi-kagu - Awww, your little guys are so sweet! All cuddled together in a pile of leaves. :D Love their little outfits too!

Speaking of outfits, Honeysuckle got something new as well Sunday. My Dark Mori kick continues. Meet Honeysuckle, the forest witch!

    43. @pepperonipizza thank you! I think Honeysuckle looks good in the dark outfit!

    44. Sorry for double post. What you think about Bebe Cheshire Pang? When I first saw the Cheshire Pang, I really hoped they would release also smaller one. Well now they have and I'm teeny bit dissapointed. That smile isn't so cute as bigger one. Looks like there is color event going and I would be so interested see Bebe Ches. Pang in caramel color.
A midsummer nights dream series interesting choice to make a red rose, really beautifull!
      [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    45. I've kinda gone off the pangs entirely since Cydril showed us a side view, and I saw how much of a narrow dish-face they had (post 301 in this thread.) However, I do love the dolls in the new Midsummer's Night Dream series. Especially that red rose Charlotte! I have an earlier blue rose version, but if I had the funds right now, that red rose girl would be coming home as her friend. Alas!:...(

    46. alas, our poor little dollies---doomed to have limited numbers of friends! I know how it is! (of course, sometime I will try and point one of my dolls to another of my dolls, and they'll insist they want someone NEW!!!!)

    47. Yeah, I was also suprised that flat head, but is it the same for smaller one's?
I have also blue rose Charlotte, so I really know what you mean. Charlotte was actually first doll that I ordered on company with armoured Derek. Only thing that I'm maybe little bit missing is second color on red rose. Blue rose has also with pinkish shade, witch give little bit more deepnes in make-up, red rose has pretty much only red. Still gorgeous dolls and really would want that dress!

    48. Hi everyone, it's taken a while but I've finally found this thread. No waiting room for Pipos that I could find. I've ordered a caramel cheese mouse and a gray summer party Cheshire Pang.

I've had a Cheshire on my Wishlist for a few years now, I missed out on the pop releases and was hoping for a regular size grinning kitty in purple resin, as a future event colour. The jr.PI kittens had purple but I was wanting a larger cat. However my mind was made up with Pipos new Pang line looking to take over seeing anything new for events using the regular and star cheshire sculpts.

I've decided to add more cyan and purple colouring to my gray fellow when he gets here instead. They'll be helping me get closer to my eventual plan to have a doll for each Alice in Wonderland character. :)

Any tips on where to purchase cheese mouse appropriate clothing?

    49. @Buzzibee - Congrats on your cheese mouse and Pang!! I totally missed the Summer event there at Pipos, so I'll have to go check out what I missed, lol! I love Alice in Wonderland inspired dolls, so I hope you share plenty of pics as your dolls come together!

For cheese mouse clothing, I'm not much help. I make all my critters clothing, so I have no idea what company's clothing to direct you at for them. I know some people have in the past said Lati Yellow clothing, which can work well for the regular Jr. PI body depending on the piece, but wouldn't work as well for the shorter stumpier cheese mouse body. Other mouse owners should be able to help you out more there.

    50. Sorry, my mice mostly run around starkers. lol I do make them a shirt every now and then...

    51. Does anyone have suggestions on stands for Pipos? I have a small frog but I have no idea how to support it so I can display it standing...

    52. I'm not sure where you are located but I know craft stores like Michaels and Hobby Lobby have some small stands sometimes, maybe if you have a place like that nearby they'd have something that would work?
Sorry I'm not more help but my little jr Cheshire is usually displayed sitting so I haven't looked far into stands.

    53. Thanks, I didn't even think to look at a crafts store. I'll have to check it out soon.

    54. I love the outfits. And the pilots are adorable.

    55. She looks wonderful @pepperonipizza ! Great for Halloween ;)

My Pang finally got a new face and some accessories. The flowers and a small veil cover up the head flatness pretty well lol
      [IMG]

    56. I've been thinking about getting a grey Pang, but then they released the Cheesemice in all those colors! I ended up ordering a sky blue cheesemouse instead. He's my birthday/Christmas present. ;)

    57. @Cydril - your Pang is so adorable!

@aernath - a sky blue cheese mouse! So cute!!!
