Pipos Anthro discussion part 2

Hi everyone! First time posting to the Pipos thread!!

I'm thinking about getting a mini Pang and a mint frog WaWa (they are just... SO inexplicably adorable to me), and I went on the Pipos site to make sure that they were available but!!! Pipos is only offering mini Pang in white right now? Is there a special time of year where they offer grey, or do they switch off between grey and white, or do I have to email them to ask for grey?

I'm also wondering if I could order both the blue and pink outfit for WaWa, but it seems like there's only one choice (either blue or pink) when I click the option. Does anyone know if Pipos would be amendable to selling me both outfits for one doll? I suppose I would email them about that too...

@DayofDiana I would email them, they are a really responsive company, I've bought my 3 dolls directly from them and i've always found their comm's good. Or check to see if any of the dealers can get you a grey Pang.

My Wawa and Doma arrived last week. Here is just a picture of them with my Aloha. I got the moss green Wawa, it isnt as dark as it looked on the website which is a bit of a shame. But is definitely darker and more olive in tone than the mint. You can also see how the new double jointed body makes him a little bit taller than the old Jr.Pi body. I actually prefer the old body, i've never found the single joints an issue and she has a cute rounder tummy. Also he has little people feet which is a bit odd. But his face is so cute!
The shade of Yellow Doma is in is really nice. I thought it was going to be more vibrant, but it's more banana yellow.

Their names a Ulysses and Mindy respectively.

 

@Zedpea Uwaaah what a cute bunch! Yellow doma looks so nice! And it's a shame if the green isn't as dark as expected... But it looks like it compliments the blue very nicely :3

Also, thank you Zedpea for the photo of your Doma and froggies!! It is a bit strange how the newer body features human-like feet, but maybe they did that so he could wear shoes a little more easily? I love the chunky velcro sneakers & coveralls combination they have for the most recent WaWa promo photos.

 

@bentosmile thanks. Yeah I don't mind the green not being quite the colour I was expecting. It's still a nice colour and it's clearly different to their mint resin, which is what Fossey is. The only downside is that it meant he didn't suit what I'd pictured for him and he needs a much softer faceup than I was planning. And I have no idea what colours his eyes should be. So he has Fosseys old eyes at the moment.

@DayofDiana good luck! They are such lovely little dolls and i think a very reasonable price too for the quality you get. They are pretty poseable and stand well. Although I have heard that the pangs are a bit heavy headed. I do think the feet are because they intended for the WaWa's to wear shoes. When I got Fossey, she had spare feet that were just little bean shapes so you could use shoes if you want. But I like her frog feet. I'm hoping I'll warm up to his bare little human toes.

 

From the pictures it seems that Pangs have very big heads, but mini Pangs have better proportions. My two Halloween mini Pangs also have human feet though they are not even double jointed. Is the double jointed body new?

 

Oh that's good to know, i think the pangs are really sweet (their faces look like my cats aka: permanently worried) but i've always been put off with how the head size went down with Pang was initially released.

I have no idea when they started their double jointed jr.pi bodies. I have been out of the hobby for about 5 years, however looking on their website it looks really random for that size doll. There doesn't seem to be a standard. All of them are a mix of animal feet/ hands and human. Some are double and some are single joints. Some have the mobility thigh some don't. I hope they aren't going to end up being a bit hit and miss with the construction/quality of their dolls. Because they're lovely.

 

My mini Pangs are from last year's Halloween release, and they are single jointed with human feet. Go figure. They stand well, but tend to topple over backwards when sitting, so they have to lean on something even if their heads are not oversized.

Uwaaah, my Pipos parcel finally arrived today! I'm so happy, I love my Doma so much! ;o; (I also got an Ohoo in the same box, which is the pvc bunny, and wildly off topic)

Gonna try get a photo of my whole Pipos family XD although only one of the four has a faceup. And I have a thing of not naming dolls without faceups in case the look they end up with gives me a different vibe... But so excited by these little sweeties coming to my door :3

I just got a Rooney last night! She’s coming all the way from Japan so it will be a while due to shipping delays, but I’m so excited!

 

I can’t wait to see what you do with your new bunny.

 

Speaking of, she just shipped today! I’m so excited! It’ll probably be a bit to get here from Japan, but that’s to be expected with the current times.

 

Well, I placed my order this morning!! I'm excited!! Maybe they'll get here by my birthday at the end of July, but because of shipping (and how many pieces I ordered), the parcel might get to me in August or September.

I got the WaWa in pistachio, and two mini Pangs in white and grey (as well as two very off topic vinyl Mariko dolls, one in pink and one in grey. I hope I'll be able to get a white one too; I cannot resist cat-headed dolls, ugh). I asked Pipos to put the WaWa in pistachio on the English site after I compared the mint resin to the pistachio resin - the mint was slightly too blue for me personally. Besides, I like pistachios!! However, Pipos informed me that they were sold out of the clothes options for pistachio WaWa. I was disappointed about that because their little school uniforms (I think they're school uniforms??) are so super cute in the promo photos!!

I also asked Pipos to put the mini Pang in grey on their English site, but weirdly enough they didn't include the outfit choices with him? I feel like I've bothered Pipos enough though, so someone else can ask if they can include the coveralls option with grey mini Pang if they want the choice.

I'm looking into clothing/shoe options for the JR.PI body, so if anyone has any suggestions/Etsy or other shops they want to recommend, hit me up! I'm also going to try my hand at making clothes for them myself, so we'll see how that goes.

 

@DayofDiana Wow that's a nice big set of dolls! (No judgement - I'm already planning when I can order from Pipos again. Likewise, I like the Mariko cats XD) It sounds like the best birthday gift ever :3 so I hope they get home fast!

 

Oh my! That sounds like a marvellous bunch of Pipos characters!

As to clothing options, the mini Pangs appear to be very close to Lati Yellows in size, so that should give you a lot of options to look for in different sources.

@bentosmile Thank you for your well wishes!! I figured that, since I wanted them all anyway, why not order them all at once? I'm still quite new to the hobby and have a lot of "catching up" to do doll-wise, haha. Is it uncommon to order so many from one company at one time?

@spih Oh! Thanks for showing a comparison between the Lati Yellow and mini Pang's wardrobes!! I'd read elsewhere, somewhere on the tinies discussion forum, that Lati Yellow clothing might be too big, but your mini Pang is such a prince!! I've also heard that Pocket Fairy clothing might work in some instances.

 

@DayofDiana Well... large orders are less common than small ones. But if you have the money and you want the dolls then there's no reason not to! Especially because you save on postage. XD You're not alone though, 'cos I'm going to save up for animi chichi, animi yang, and maybe a mariko cat doll for my next Pipos order. Hopefully they'll be in stock long enough... So yeah, don't worry about it and have an epic doll birthday!

Ok I have a Pipos Robin that fits Pukifee clothes like a dream. My Cheese Mouse is shorter than Robin and the Pukifee clothes are baggy on him.

 

One more payment to make coming up and my cat will be coming home from DDE, can't wait to have her home next week! Will take pics when the pain meds wear off....

I got my two Pipos cheese mice from Denver Doll about a week ago. One in berry color, the other in Chou. I’m so excited to dress them up for photos!

Thank you so much! I thought the outfits really added that kind of classic look that you'd find in the curtains of an older bakery to add to their sweet named nature. That's super cute that you also have a food named Pipos cat! All my tinies are basically named after something sweet other than my faerie and my frog. I love food names!

Do you guys think that YoSD clothes generally fit Bahas and Cheshires? I got YoSD pants for Fridolin to try it out but I have little hope that they will ever arrive as they were sent 4 months ago and haven't gotten here yet.

Thanks for the picture, @spih. I got him shorts, thinking that they might even look cute if the pants are a little wise as they were overalls and would just rest on his shoulders. I probably will never know though because they are somewhere in limbo.

I didn't see this post somehow until right now, so my apologies for my delayed reply to it! Oops!

As far as YoSD clothes go, both of my Bahas wear YoSD clothes. The shoulders are a tiny bit baggy on them, but it is a bit hard to tell. As for pants, I don't think pants would work for a Cheshire or Baha. I have some shorts on Scone that are YoSD sized and they're down to his ankles. I'll post a photo here so that you can see what I mean. That being said... YoSD clothes -do- fit, they're just not perfect if that kind of thing bothers you. Edit: Also the sleeves can sometimes be a bit too long if it's a long sleeved top, however you can see that it's manageable. I've also found that they're able to fit in some Blythe and Realfee sized clothes if they are fitted with elastic and baggier around the waist for things like coats or dresses.

@DayofDiana how exciting! I was really unsure about doing a big order then thoughts. Well i want them anyway, may as well get them all at once (Also love the mariko's - they put a frog one on ig but not released her ;_; ) I'd like to see an owner photo of the pistachio resin, I have Mint and Moss.

I will post a picture of my pistachio WaWa here when he arrives!! I won't have anything else to compare him to, but I'll try to capture the color as best as I can!!

I read your post earlier about how you were disappointed by the moss green WaWa, so I hope the pistachio they pour for mine is truer to their promo photos!!

I meant to post a pic of my Doma (and Ohoo) ages ago ^^; but as I guess they are kinda off topic (especially Ohoo) have my whole Pipos family! (Sorry Mackie is in so much shadow. The weather wasn't great yesterday, so she looks darker than she is. I didn't notice until too late argh)

Anyway, all my Pipos dolls! Ohoo, Doma, Hoya, and Ringo (Macchiato).

I think Ohoo will become 'Haruka' when she gets her faceup, and Hoya will become 'Honeysuckle'. Not got an idea for Doma yet. XD

 

@bentosmile thank you for sharing your little Pipos family! A cute little fox has been on my wishlist, and I’ve seen Hoya before, but your picture just made up my mind. Tan is perfect for a little fox, but I want one in white as all my other anthros are white. But, I might make an exception. I know DDE has one in stock, but I’m broke right now with other commitments. Hoya is definitely on top of the list now!

 

Sorry to double post, but I did it!

I bought the blank Hoya at DDE! Just too perfect and cute. Now I finally have a fox in my collection. I need to pick a name and eyes. But I like Hoya, as it’s a very pretty plant and I have one.

 

@kurogane Congrats! Good thing anthros don't need much in the way of clothes and wigs. So you won't be totally broke...

 

@kurogane yay! Congratulations! Hoya is such a cute little doll :3 hooray for your first fox! (I won't lie - foxes are addictive... I have a fennec fox doll too, and a "devil" version of the same. So 3 tiny foxes in all. Oops! XD)

@TheDoctor you are right! No need for wigs, unless you want one. As for clothing, most of mine are naked. I think Hoya would look cute with a fake collar and tie. Broke, but happy.

@bentosmile nice! Three foxes! I’ve seen others, but always seemed to miss them. Your picture helped me see how cute Hoya really is.

Yeah, I really thought it would be darker. There's also a bit of marbling where the resin hasn't mixed well, which i really don't mind in it's self, it's a risk of colored resins, but just disappointed that it's lighter than I thought it would be. Mainly because it completely threw me for his faceup. I had something really dramatic planned for the darker resin and I opened him and was like "Well, thats not you"

@bentosmile i's your Doma's resin really shiny? Mine is super shiny compared to the other two and im not a fan. She's still super duper cute and naughty looking though.

 

@Zedpea Too bad about the light resin. I would love to see pictures of her though!

Ah, I hadn't really thought about it, but yeah, both Doma and Hoya are a little shiny. o_o; I probably didn't pay much attention as it might change once I start doing faceups and they get some sealant on them. (I wonder if they have a slightly different resin formula for small dolls)

Kinda wishing my Doll Factory dolls weren't in boxes so I could compare resins on super tinies XD

 

Yeah maybe, I did the face up on mine last night and she has become more matte looking so i can deal with it.

Started on Ulysses face up a while ago but im a bit stuck with him, the eyes i got for him don't go with "him" and i now dont know what colour to give his. This gives a good idea of his resin colour, its more of a mid grey green. It is a seriously cute sculpt.

@Zedpea I see what you mean. Picking out the correct eyes is very crucial. If they are a bit off, you can always see it. I feel for your situation. I’ve had a few dolls that took years to find their eyes. Lots of trial and mostly error.
