    1. I love that picture. Great job.

    2. I second this. I know I had a very hard time choosing, too. :|

    3. Not to be a stick in the mud, or a grump about it, but I do tend to agree, as well. Though I am less irked as I am adamant that rules be followed. :)

    4. Guys, if someone didn't follow the guidelines, it sucks, but please don't get caught up in it. Please move on and enjoy, and thank YOU for being the ones who followed the rules. Lovely photos, everyone! Please keep sharing!

    5. This was a tough choice, but I think it is probably this is one of my favourites:

I had to replace my original Saint, and it took awhile to get to know this one, but once I did...well...he and my other Male Muse, Cadeigh (Bernard) both take my breath away :)

Thanks everyone for the nice pics, and to the Mods for starting this thread.

    6. Although I no longer have this guy, I still really like this photo.

I'm sure from a professional photographers stand point there are a million things that make this photo horrible and just not good. But for some reason, while i have other great pictures, this is my favorite. The lighting, while poor, just seems to work right, and his face seems so full of emotion. I love the rest of the shoot as well but they were all trying to capture the same feel and look of this one. In short, wasn't successful!

this was taken about a month ago.. but i love it and the way she looks and everything about this photo turned out awesome :)

Kylyk. Because he was my very first character based doll and the one that made it possible for me to learn WHY I love this hobby so much.

    10. So many excellent pictures in this thread. The creativity is inspiring..

It was hard to choose because I, like others, have a few that are my absolute favourites, but this one really just works for me..
Laika, my BF Xiao, having a pensive moment by the fish pond.

    11. I'd have to say this photo... Honestly, there are a lot of things wrong with it and blah blah blah... But it was one of the first photos I took with Allura (and from our first outside photoshoot!) and it still just blows me away. <3

    12. Like with many other people, this was a tough one. I went with this one as my lighting (which I controlled artifically) was exactly how I wanted it. It was an experiment in composition for me and it was a new backdrop. The backdrop now is a lot more decorated.

This was two years ago and on Christian's "birthday" of sorts. God am I a geek.

    13. It's an emotional attachment with this boy and this image.
It's not overly epic, it's just his shoes and his legs. But it's my Dov, and he'll happily wait.

    14. I took this picture and posted here about two years ago, but I still have not
taken any picture that can able to beat this one.

    16. This has just always been one of my favorites. <3

    17. This is my favorite pic, just because I always imagined my Ducan would be like that.

    18. This just blew me away...it was for Macchiato's intro photostory...I did NOT expect her eyes to shine such a lovely shade of violet.

I worked really hard on this photo set up. I surrounded the dolls on a table with flowering plants.

I used the woods as a natural background. I had to keep spraying the plants with water because they would wilt it was so hot outside.

My Volks Msd F-13 Gino and Marina are riding a Generation Girl horse. I used sunlight in background and fill light for dolls faces.

I love how rich the colors came and how Marina is watching the camera.

I like a table set up because I can move camera up or down for better angles.

Rosalie loves my mothers garden, she almost matches most of the flowers.

    21. Here's one of my Favorite photos... however it has hardly been viewed on my Dev Art. Weird how the photos you love and not the photos others love.

    22. I wish people would stop saying that their photos are not the best quality and such.
Absolutely all of the photos here have that one special quality that catches the attention of any discerning eye: Dynamic. Every single one of these photos is beautiful in it's own special way. Even if I don't agree with some of the compositions or particularly like some of the dolls I can still see this beauty. I have taken photography classes and all these photos deserve at least an A. ^_^

I can't wait to get a doll so I can post a pic here too. ^_^

    23. This is one of the first pictures I ever took of Navi.
The entire photoshoot turned to crap and his hair went insane. I found one picture out of the bunch that I just fell in love with.
There's something about how the light catches his eye that I really like.
I'm no pro with a camera and don't have photoshop but this pic of Navipoo makes me smile. <3

    24. this was my good bye picture to the artists' subforum - which was a truly wonderful place.
most definitely not one of my nicest dolls - but i loved the picture anyway ...

    26. This photograph kept coming to mind as I enjoyed all the lovely submissions in this thread...

My mother was so worried about the doll because I had poured out water on the cement.
It was my first doll and I had only had her a short time. ^_^

    27. My favourite picture of Julian since his head arrived ^^

    28. This is my favorite photo - partly because it was my first ever self faceup but also because he just looks so natural

    29. It was just a snapshot...but I have no idea what I did to take such a beautiful shot.
Emerald was just...I don't know. Perfect.

(it was incredibly hard to only post one picture. ^^; )

    30. This isn't Lander's regular wig, or eyes, or anything... but he hadn't been with me very long when i shot him in this underlit rock star pose. i'm loving this thread!

    31. This is a realllly old one. But this one has been a favorite. There was just something about the lighting and his hair. I sold this doll afterwards and looking at the photos from this set made me buy another Heath back I missed him so much.

    32. First outdoor shoot, very successful ^__^ No one ever believes me either when I say he's an AoD Chen after seeing these pictures so I say this shot really captures how a mold can be different between owners. Also one of my doll fearing friends even liked this shot so yay xD To me it looks like a screen cap for a music video.

    33. I just got Juju that day and met up with a friend in a cafe. She wanted to see him and I just had my camera with me.
I just love this shot because it's so cute and juju. And just a quicksnapshot really

I have so many favorites; but I think this must be my absolute top-favorite - until now... :)

This photo has been my desktop wallpaper for months now because I haven't taken anything I can honestly say I like more than this. XD"

    38. Oh, yeah. This picture of Mally Lee:

    39. This thread is awesome! Everyone's photos are so amazing!

Here is a photo of my very first doll Felix.
This was a time when I had thoughts of selling him and wanted to do one last photoshoot together.
This photo made me relise he is just to full of memories for me to give him up ;c He is still with me and is still my baby!:aheartbea
I love how it turned out and how calm and hopeful he seems here.

    41. The beauty of these dolls and the love and creativity and talent of everyone involved continues to blow me away! And I think it makes for a more wonderful world with you all (and the dolls) in it, sharing the magic!!! :D

I have some portrait type shots I like of my dolls, but they are all nothing special, just pointing and shooting and letting the doll and the light do the work. I usually don't try too hard during shoots, but this is the one time I worked a bit. It was for publication in FDQ. It's a re-creation of a Madame de Pompadour painting by Boucher. I love the painter and the period, so this was just a joy to do! Of course, I didn't have to come up with the pose or composition, since I just copied the painting--so that helps a LOT.

There is a little photoshopping--plushie dog was re-sized, books were added, candlestick and clock, too. Some touch-up in the background and on the rug to cover parts where the rug ran out. Otherwise it's pretty much all in the photo. I so love my Juri '05. She's even still wearing her Pinkie of Doom hand, which amuses me...

    42. Ooops... double-post!!!

    43. I love everyone's!

Haven't taken any great pictures *yet*.... But this one, of Nefret reminds me why I fell in love with her...It was the first time her true nature came out...

    44. This picture means alot to me mainly because it was snowing (and I maybe get 1 good day of snow a year where I live) And I was so happy that I got to share it with my first doll. (blotches on the pic are snow flakes that landed on the lense lol, despite that it's still my fav pic)

Hard to decide, but I love the angle and pose in this one.
