Contest Photography Contest: Stuck on Luck

@Quiet and Insane - no, no, no, there are enough vipers out there ready to call one names. Above all, always be kind to yourself. At least now you no longer have a rigid goal hanging over you and can be more flexible in doing how much or whichever you'd enjoy doing and have time for!

 

I finished my photostory, but I decided not to submit it. It was rushed and just not very good in general. I'm also very unsure as to if I even did it right. Good luck to all who did finish, though! I look forward to seeing what you've made. ^^

 

Unfortunately, life got in the way and I couldn't complete mine. I will probably share it elsewhere later on when I can manage to finish it since I got really into the story. Good luck to everyone else.

 

No It's just that had I realised I had another full day I could have easily finished it and my triathlon entry. I had something really good up my sleeve too.

 

I finished this... not the way I planned the story but... at least it's something.

The stories are so great so far

There are some really lovely entries. I have to ask tho : is it normal that we can see the name of the participant with each entry? In other voting threads, I could only see the entry numbers. But with this contest, I can see the name of the participant with each entry.

Btw I assume that the winners are announced on Saturday 2nd of Sept instead of Friday.

 

The first post mentioned they weren't going to be anonymous. I think it's due to teh fact that people were allowed to use their characters, so chances were, it was going to remain hard to keep them as such. It's not a popularity contest-- so people should be just reflecting on story/creativity~

 

Alright, I did my voting! It was harder than I thought it'd be!

I do have a bit of a question about voting though; so for the categories, do the votes get combined at all? It's kind of hard to explain my question... For example, if someone got 9 votes (3 in each category), and another person got only 4 votes (but all in one category), would the person with fewer votes win that category anyway? Or if someone had the most votes in every category, would the person with the second-most amount of votes win? The results are what they are, but a little clarification would be great!

 

I assumed that it meant the top person in the two categories would win a prize, and then the overall top two would get the other prizes. So like in your example, the person with 4 votes would win that category and get a prize, but the person with 9 votes could be the top person overall, if they had the most. But I'd like clarification too, because if I'm right, then that possibly could mean one person could win two prizes...

 

I don't think you can win two prizes. If you get first score in 'Best Overall' and 'Best Developed Theme', then you'd get first pick of the prizes and the person who got the second-highest marks in 'Best Developed Theme' will get to pick the third prize.

To clarify the voting, each category was tallied separately, so the winners in each category were the ones who got the most votes in each category; but no, nobody would have been able to win twice in the same contest.

I too had so much fun creating my entry ^^ I wanted to make the most with less.so props where paper cutouts same with facial expressions xD
I am proud of my entry,it was my first photostory in YEARS! so being able to create it with this contest as a motivator was fantastic.

Tell Snarlguard that if there's any treasure in this house, he'll have to barter/fight LucyFaire, my devil mouse, for it. XD she's kind of a hoarder of shiny things, not sure if they'd be rivals or BFFs. Hehe

While not in typical "comic" style, your story was very well represented, easy to follow, beautiful photography and gorgeous girls. It reminded me of the stories some companies make for doll sales pages, and I think that made it special.

This was my first time participating in a contest here and I had a lot of fun making my comic, hopefully everyone else did as well. I'd also like to second the moderator's sentiments that there were so many great entries and I'm glad to hear that everyone received votes! The amount of effort that went into these photostories is very impressive, I really enjoyed looking through them ^^'

I loved the idea of a mystery doll. This was the first time it's been done, right? It was one of the reasons why I entered. To find out which doll it was, was a true delight.
