Peakswoods Fairies of Colors Discussion PART VIII

Well Steamwitch beat me to it in posting those eyes. Just recently came across them thru etsy and the colors and dept look so wonderful. Haven't bought a set yet so not sure how they will be in person. Furthermore I do like some souldoll eyes and on Stacy's pink ocean there are some unique looking ones.

Talking about eyes, I got my sugar vamp a new set from another smaller etsy seller. They just feel perfect! Maybe not completely visible because I'm still taking pictures with my crappy phone(phone did manage to capture a smudge on her nose tho -, -) . Finally started on her horns again what a pain to match them to each other so this is going to be a long road still haha.

 

I agree, they are beautiful!

 

Hey all! Does anyone have tips on where to find shoes for these girls? I have a pretty extensive collection of heels here, and the only perfect fit for my Rosemii so far has been a very old pair of Musedoll shoes. I’m a little stumped at where to go for more styles.

This brat would really appreciate it!

 

@Amet for heeled or flat feet? All my regular SD16 sized heel shoes fit their heel feet (I have some from Crobi, Luts, Little Monica, and Leeke to name a few)

 

@Amet Have you tried any code noir shoes? I don't own a FOC yet so I don't have much insight to provide but just thought I would point out that most of the shoes on the Peak's Woods website seems to be from Code Noir.

 

Seconding SteamWitch's recommendation of Soul in a Box eyes. I bought a couple of pairs from them over the summer and while they took a bit longer than expected, they're stunning and were worth the wait.

Finally bit the bullet and ordered an open eyed Gio.

 

Thanks for the suggestion, but I’ve had a totally different experience. I have tried:

Heels: Volks SD16, Volks SD10/13, Luts, Crobidoll SD16, off brand SD16s and SD13s (probably from Taobao, but I got them at meets so IDK), Musedolls, Nine9Style

Flats: Nine9Style, Dale Rae, Volks SD10

So far only the Musedolls and Nine9Style heels fit (though the Nine9Style heels I have are both boots, so that may be because they fasten at the ankle so it masks some of the fit issues). Everything else is too big for her—she slides down into the toes and there’s a gap between her heel and the back of the shoe. All types of flats I have on hand need to be stuffed in the toe to make them fit her. I’m not usually fussy about shoes fitting perfectly, but her feet are tiny!

My girls only wear Dollheart shoes, but they are both the old body so I couldn’t say if the foot now is different

 

I don't have a favorite per say but I love the Doll Bakery eyes that I own. I also own a good amount of enchanted doll eyes (which are recommended by a lot of people) but I find them a bit hit or miss with the pupil position. Some look great while others look perpetually cross-eyed from anywhere but dead on.

I took some photos of my vampire ladies! I always try to pair their outfits together but I also get super nervous when I put the beehive wigs on them! I kind of want another vampire gal to join them, but its so hard to decide....they are all so beautiful!

As for shoes; my girl wears a pair of Code noir for her flat feet. She has a pair of strappy Sadol shoes, Dollzone black/rainbow heels, and some Crobidoll wedge sneakers to wear with her heeled feet. Oddly enough, the Dollzone shoes are the most stable...she stands solidly in any of them though.

 

Just popped in here to say I finally did it!!!

I've missed SO many order periods and almost missed this one too. They always seem to have order periods right AFTER I have money xD But I couldn't do it again and I'm finally going to realize my doll dream of twins (or triplets kind of in this case)

I couldn't pass up getting my purple Kasspio a twin, so I ordered another Kasspio in brown and I ordered a Troy in pink. I was supposed to get Mona, but the temptation of having three brothers was too much. I'm so excited! They both have the faceup too.


Yaaay! My boy Foster is going to get family! Time to go write more story ideas. Very old and used picture (he's even on my debit cards) but here's Foster, my fairy boy.

I'm am so happy to (soon) join the PW club! I finally jumped in and bought a Briana head today, she was one of the sculpts I really liked since I joined the hobby many years ago. I'm not sure what kind of character I'll make her but I am excited nonetheless

Saw a teaser on bjdcollectstasy that they will be releasing last years vampires again? I sure love me some peakswoods vampires

 

That would be some good news for me! Recently I have been starring at my vampire Goldie and all tho I still love the sculpt somehow she doesn't really fit the character of the countess anymore. Especially after seeing vampire Rosemii. The head sculpt is just a bit more cheeky and sly then Goldie.

 

So, I paid off my doll 4 months ago and still waiting for shipping. They said the factory shipped my dolls body to them but no head... no head? So I'm assuming that means they didnt make her head and I have to wait another couple months to get her? :/ Had I known this, I wouldnt have ordered her.. very frustrating..

 

@wrxgal did you order with a faceup? Because then the head probably is being painted. If it’s blank, then it’s odd they had no head yet, but the time frame is normal for Peak’s Woods. They start production after the layaway is over, and Peak’s Woods commonly takes 4-8 months. My shortest wait was 4 months, my longest was 7 months last year.

 

@wrxgal I've got a bunch of PW dolls and they've varied but like @Cuteasadoll said, they've been typically between 4 and 6 months. If you want real pain, order a Dollshe doll. I've been waiting one year and nine months for one of theirs...and still no word on shipping in sight...so 4-6 months? No problem....

 

Doer anybody have a dreaming mona?, her limited edition as alice is so stunning

 

Dreaming Mona was released as part of their summer event from July 1 - July 31. Their turnaround time is 100-130 business days, excluding not only weekends, but also Korean holidays. The absolute earliest she'll be available is mid-November.

I am also excited to see owner photos of her, too!

 

What's Peakswood's release schedule? Curious of when they'll be up again.

 

@Chikku they’ll have a Halloween event October 1-15 I asked in August since I need to buy a Dandy body. They also added some vampire heads to the parts page, and in the description mention Suntan, Emerald Green, Lavender Link, and Blue Grey, so I think those are the skin tones to expect as well. My friend needs a Lavender Pink body and they told me she’d be able to order it too, so that’s why I have a bigger hunch that’s what’s coming

 

Thank you! That’s so exciting— I love the vampire heads and their suntan. The lavender pink is so unique and gorgeous too. God, now I want everything hahaha.

 

Oh I might be in trouble if they release something I really like in Emerald Green! I think the skintone looks absolutely beautiful. Let's wait and see what they'll release!

 

If I look at the drop down skin options for the dolls currently I see lavender pink and emerald green so I geuss its just going to be those two besides the ws and ns.
Was really hoping for the blue Grey but geuss I'll have to wait some more, my wallet will live another day!

There are three teasers up on Facebook and bjdcollectasy posted a list of five dolls that will be released. I don’t see a notice on thier website yet.

I don’t think she’s Mona since her mouth is closed so if bjdcollectasy is correct that makes her Blossom Rosemii. EDIT: on Instagram they have pictures up of all of them and they are labeled so yes this one is Blossom Rosemii

I lucked out. If they had posted the regular Rosemii Vampire I would have been hooked, but they're all open eyed so I've escaped with my wallet intact...

 

Hi everyone! I'm reeaaally tempted by this event because I can finally get a PW doll (I've wanted one since I started collecting 8 years ago) and in a beautiful green resin on top of that! But now I'm in a huge dilemma because it looks like they offer ALL the heads? Can someone confirm that I'm not crazy? They introduced 6 dolls for this event but if you go on a sales page you can actually select from a bunch of heads available. I hope this is correct because that would mean I could get my dream PW doll, a green Vampire Dandy Gio Blue! I'm also awfully tempted by this adorable green Vampire Goldie, although I would prefer her dreaming vampire eyes I think. Argh the choices! They're also a lot more expensive than I thought but thankfully they offer long layaways. Oh man I'm super tempted to get a girl and a boy but that would mean shelling out over a grand.
Can someone also tell me about the 61cm Dandy body and the 67cm Dandy body? Can the smaller sized one pose decently? I prefer the taller one for looks but I have a few very tall boys and not really the space for another one...
Can you tell I'm excited?

It’s awesome that they offer so many heads but I wish I had more time to make a decision! It makes me sad to pass on vampire Mona...I love her face!

 

@Zomboid You get the whole doll. Not just the head. This is just how they set up their sale pages. When they do new releases for a particular size, they generally allow you to buy the rest of the dolls in the same category.
I've seen the green in person and it's gorgeous. I'm usually not a fan of the more fantasy colors but it's really a great one. I, unfortunately, don't own any boys so can't answer the dandy questions. There is a separate thread for the boys, you may get better answers there


Peak's wood is way too fair with their layaways! I currently have Mona on layaway and I'm super tempted to add vampire Rosemii too. She never really caught my attention before but I just think the vampire perfectly suit her lips. So many decisions! Problem is I'm moving this month .

@Emmilmee Thank you for clarifying! Yesss that emerald green resin speaks to me on so many levels lol, it is gorgeous! But I think I'll stick to my original decision and "just" order a Dandy Gio Blue vampire. The choice of all the dolls is very tempting but if I ordered a Dandy and a girl it would be way too much money and I'm really not in the mood to wait a year+. I have been in and out of the doll hobby for the last few years and I just don't have the patience anymore I used to have. Several years ago it was no problem for me to wait 6 months or more for a layaway but now if I'm enamoured by a doll I'm afraid I will lose interest if I don't have it within a month or two. It sucks but it is what it is.
So I will probably order a green Gio within the week, I'm super excited! The only minor drawback is that Peakswoods don't start making the dolls until after you finish your layaway but that is completely understandable.
Oh and do you guys think that they will offer the girls in these resin colours again in the future? Because I would really like a chance at a green or pink vampire Goldie again!

 

Congrats Zomboid! Dandy Gio Blue Vampire sounds amazing.

I’ve been thinking of getting a green Goldie or Rosemii for a Wicked Witch of the West inspired character. But maybe I’ll also wait for the Blue Gray or Tan skins to be rereleased— I’ve wanted a tan Goldie for forever and I think the Blue Gray skin is gorgeous.

 

I'm loving the new ones and green in that shade is really temping.

I placed the order for the Lolita body that I needed. I was sooo tempted to just get Vampire Rosemii but managed to maintain discipline and get just what I needed for now. I'm excited that my Rosemii with have her own body.
