I agree that they are the nicest company!

 

Ditto on it being hard to resist Peaks Woods' releases, I especially like the new boy and wouldn't mind a Mimi Crow. I just have to keep telling myself to hold out for their next event since I still need to finish sewing for my Red and get my Hunky Dory a face up.

 

Oh man I want the new boy Goyo so bad, but I'm not buying any more dolls this year because I have to be an adult lol

I need a body for the gift head I got last year, a Lemon Blue, so hopefully they re-release him next year when I haven't burned through my doll fund allocation.

@emmilmee Congratulations!!! She's stunning!! If I may ask, how long did it take to receive her? I'm moving around May or June, so I'm trying to gauge how long I'd have to wait after my layaway is paid.

Mimi is definitely a favorite of mine, but in this color she looks even better. Do you mind if I ask what resin tone she is? She's flawless.

On another note - They're starting to ship the October orders now and I can't wait!

Hello! I got my first FOC in June this year (sooo late to the party) and finally got some photos of her!



She is a Mimi Crow Blue from Welcome to Underland in moonlight gray. I got her to see if I like her enough to order from Peakswoods’ latest release and did!

Currently waiting for the 2 FOB babies to come later this year!

 

She looks great! I love the wig on her >.< What did you end up ordering from the latest release?

Yet again, I'm trying to decide. These releases are so hard, like, why can't I buy 10 of them? Why can I only choose one?

Same!!! I went back and forth on who to get, but I ordered my Neo in red! I hope they do an anniversary sale in 2025 so I can pick up a Daze in moonlight grey, I think he's my favorite and I would have gotten him this time if it wasn't for the new red skintone! They mentioned they aren't certain it will come back so I had to snatch one up now

 

I know times are tough right now, but I'm a little disappointed. I've been gathering points for years, trying to save money here and there to participate, with the hopes of eventually reaching diamond member - which I now finally have, as of this event I would get to use it. And now they're changing it so we can't use the discount.

It's not necessary, but it was a nice perk. Peakswoods took away their 10 month layaway, then their flexibility, then half their sculpts, then their blank sculpt discount, now they're taking away perks. I'm just confused at the decision aside from the usual "everyone is struggling right now". I don't want blank heads - that's my personal least favorite gift item in the hobby - but why not just have an option to use one or the other? It can't be cheaper to make free heads rather than diving a small discount. It just doesn't make sense, but that discount was a small blessing in a hobby that is slowly pricing me out with my favorite company.

I know I'm whining over something most companies don't even offer, but that's what was so unique and nice about it. I know everyone is struggling, but I don't think it's fair and I wish they would have handled this differently.

 

They stopped their membership discount system?
Did they ever announce that?

Did they stop the points and membership level discount?

 

Okay so I placed my order and was able to use some of my points. However no membership discount.
I did contact them to ask about it and they were really nice.
They said they put in in their sale notice that there is no discount, but apparently badly placed because several people have asked them what's up. (and yes, it's really unclear since it's written at the specific events, making it sound like it's only not possible for the 2+2 and 4+2 event)

They said me there will be possibilities to use the discount again in the future. So they kind of will sometimes allow it and at other events not.

 

Yeah, they didn't say it was going away permanently, but they sounded like they're trying to phase out its use every release and aren't sure when it will be around or not.

And then they told me "the website doesn't allow them so many options" when they've very clearly had the heads and the discount at the same time in the past... always. So, that felt bad.

But I told them as well that it was SUPER unclear in their notices. But happy to know other people are saying something. I hope they change it and let us use it in the future. Halloween is the favorite event of most of us, I feel, so it just sucks they took it away for this one. Who knows which it'll be open to in the future, especially since I don't collect their 1/4. So the "sometimes" thing doesn't make a lot of sense and is super open. Either way, I'm still pretty upset. I'm not trying to slam them - they're one of my fav companies - but I'm still upset.

 

Yeah, they should at least make sure to make it clear it can't be used in their notices.
I kind of hope the negative backlash might make them reconsider removing the discount. Like probably not never removing it, but at least doing it less than they planned

 

I'm interested in a few of the FOC vampire/monster heads but I've decided against picking one up right now. I'm not sure if they're limited or will get brought up again in the future? Am I going to find something next year?
First time I see Peakswoods and I really love the sculpting style.

Oh also is their white a pinkish white or an ivory-yellowish kind of white?

 

If you like one of the make ups offered it's best to order now because they not always get re-released.
If it's just about the head sculpts then waiting for next year is no problem. Just be aware they only have orders open I think ~4x /year. And they change between their 1/3 and 1/4 ones too. So it might be some till till you can order again. (best to follow them on Instagram, they always post when they open orders)

The white is more yellowish ivory. I really like it. When I unboxed my girl it almost had an underlying glow to it.

The one you linked is one of their 1/4 ones. I have quite a few peakswoods dolls. I think I could make a quick Flickr collection with them if you like to see?
My favorite color is their emerald green skintone.
I think their bodies are nice. I like how they look and they can do what I expect from bodies (double jointed arms and legs, hands can touch face, can sit and stand, has mobility joint on thighs). I guess if you are looking for super high mobility or cheaper bodies hybriding is a possibility too. I don't know about color matches though.

 

@Pyoko their resin colors are amazing! I don't normally pay attention to non-standard colors but they have such lovely shades.
The hybrid idea was with a Doll Chateau Youth body - from what I gathered, Peakswoods heads are on the smaller side of SD, so they would do well on DC. But I think this company is growing on me! The faceups are incredible.
If you have more photos I'd appreciate them! I'm sure everyone in the thread would.

I own more of the 1/4 ones though. Please be aware I adjusted some of the face ups slightly. (I like to enhance the smiles a bit more, peakswoods face ups tend to look a bit sad)

I held off on the last FOC release (and regretted it a bit) and finally went for it this time!
I ordered Goldie the dark elf in white, with Ladybee's make up, and special nail parts with the French tips.

I lost my mind and ordered a BOY as well- I got Han in Urban Brown with Dohwa's makeup! I was tempted to get the monster nails, but I got long nails parts instead.
My friend ordered Dohwa, so I'm excited to sit there and admire him XD

They'll be my very first 1/3 sized dolls!
Now I need to find/make clothing for them
