Peak's Woods Mini Discussion Thread

Peakswoods did an amazing job with the new release of FOB, above all with special makeup, they're so gorgeous!.. I've just ordered Lady Bee in suntan with special makeup, but lavender skin is beautifull too...

 

I think a couple of people in the FoC thread were able to request minor alterations to faceups. Leafylew asked for brown eyelashes, freckles, and no teardrop on the clown makeup for their Hunky Dory, and on their pre-order Alice Tristan (which arrived recently) they asked for red lips. So minor changes like eyebrow shape should be okay if you ask Peak's Woods directly when you order. I think you just wouldn't be able to request a completely customized faceup design, but they're really nice about questions so it couldn't hurt to ask!

I personally think the eyebrows on Romantic Lady Bee look more amused than worried. I think it's the mischievous smile and eyes that sets the mood for me.

 

So, it looks like you have to order the 'special' hands? Theres no option to not get them. What are they, fist hands? I cant find a photo

 

Cydril, I have no idea what they are either but I went ahead and ordered them anyway to get my order to work. I'm sure it's just a glitch and they simply forgot to add the "no" at the bottom of that option. I'm only seeing that problem with the Romantic Mia. I'm sure you can simply put in the comments section that you don't want them when you order and it should all get straightened out.

 

Oh I see! She was the one I wanted so I didnt check the others. Theres no option for no outfit on romantic ladybee either. I'll shoot them a message so hopefully it gets fixed

 

Ah! Krystina that was the announcement I was looking for! I thought I remembered that.
I asked on the message board and they said "if course we can do it!" So maybe they do just want you to check with them before ordering 'w'
I wish there was a picture where you could see the outfits in whole! Most of them are cropped at the hip so you can't even see the bottom of the dress.
Also I'm now on the fence about ordering though, I had a dream about ordering basic dolls really biting me in the butt when some amazing LE doll came out immediately afterwards ><

 

I was so not going to get any MSDs as I was concentration on only SD... and then Peakswood had to release their new FOB line...

They are all so beautiful and I've always wanted to dreaming dolly.

One question though, does anyone know what the layaway terms are?

 

The layaway terms are very flexible and extremely gracious! Here's a link to their Layaway Instructions. They accept credit card and PayPal (which is NOT the same as PayGate, so be careful!) and YOU get to decide how long you want the layaway to be. There's no minimum payment and no maximum payment, and they have accommodated both short layaways (a couple of months) and really long layaways (a year or longer)! You just have to determine your schedule of how much you want to pay each month, have them approve it and set up your layaway page, and let them know immediately if your plans change during the layaway. The payments are non-refundable. One of my friends is almost done with her preorder layaway, and she started with a deposit of $25 last September and has continued paying a little bit each month. Peak's Woods usually sends a confirmation e-mail after they process your layaway payments to let you know they received your payment and everything is up to date.

 

Is there anywhere I can see a comparison between the four colours? I might be being daft but I can't even see whether they're listed on the order pages.

 

O that id so good to know! Thanks for asking- I really like the romantic eye face up but I'm not to crazy about the worry- brows either. I was thinking the same about the outfits too- hopefully they'll add full photos of them in their outfit section soon! BTW does anyone know what outfit morimoth is wearing? I love it to bits!

 

Oh do you really think the outfits will appear for seperate sale in the FOB outfits section?? i though these would only be available if you buy a FoB o_o!

now that you mention it, perhaps they won't be featured in their FOB outfits section. I don't think they'll show up in that section if the outfits are limited (but if they are not limited- perhaps they will show up in there?) Grr, okay, I will go ask!

 

Oh, and also they allow you to do more than one layaway at a time! I don't know if there's a limit on how many layaways you can have active simultaneously but I have read that some people have had a couple of layaways open for separate orders.

I wish I could get a Romantic Lady Bee during this Welcome Back event, but I'm just about to pay off my layaway from the FoC Farewell event and if I start another layaway right after, I probably won't be able to buy Christmas presents this year, haha!

 

I ordered a Romantic Lady Bee in Lavender skin with special makeup and outfit today. I am really excited for her. I haven't been this excited for a doll in a long time.

 

I'm in the same boat I really want to get Open-eyed Morimoth sooo badly! She is so spunky!

And yes, all the outfits are limited for one month or sooner than that
becuase the designer purchased some of the materials in Japan and it seems that they are not available any more.;;;

And yes, of course. Our basic FOBs will stay with us as long as you want.

Thanks for sharing, krystina! I was wondering whether the FoB were going to be on a limited release schedule... I mean, I was fairly certain they weren't, but it's good to know for sure they'll stay open for basic! Even though I won't be able to jump on the event discount, at least I know I can get a Lady Bee and Punky Beetle in the future.

 

I was so set on getting a lavender romantic KoonieS but now open eyed Mia seems to want to jump into my cart instead. With the special make up, will they change the colors for the lavender skin? The brown looks gorgeous on the Suntan resin but I don't want that on the lavender.

Hooray! I did it...after so many years of wanting to add a Peakswoods girl to my crew, this was the special event I just couldn't pass up! Especially with their Romantic sculpts and very generous layaway program. The hardest part was deciding which of these beauties to bring home...I struggled with that all week. But in the end it was a Romantic Mia who jumped into my cart, in lavender-pink skin with special faceup, special hands, small bust, those adorable antenna and even an extra pair of jeweled eyes. I figured since she was on a long layaway I could afford absolutely everything I possibly wanted with her. Gotta love Peakswoods!

 

I haven't posted here much since I sold Mona (my KoonieS) last year, but the new releases are absolutely amazing. I've always loved Peak's Woods sculpts, but the body just wasn't working for me. This new body is gorgeous. I honestly think I want to save up for both a romantic and open-eyed Mia.

I can't wait to see pictures once your girl comes in, PoeticSoul​! The lavender color is so beautiful.

 

O you said it! I know I won't be able to join in on the FOB event but it is good to know I can get my Morimoth later this year! Also, I want to see what they'll have for the Dandy's in August before I start another layaway. I don't need anymore boys but I want more I don't have another character in mind but I just love the FOC boys so much.

 

Are the romantic heads a limited run? Or will they be available after the event. I am so hooked on these girls at the moment.

@Hilarie, I looked all over the site, and there doesn't seem to be a comparison. There are photos of the dolls in all the colors in various places though.

@karleecakes, the new dolls are all basics, but they're only 10% off this month.

Sooo, I was all set to order Romantic Mia, but somehow I decided on Romantic LadyBee instead She'll be in white skin.

 

Thanks Cydril. I guess I'll just have to wait for the next release for the others I like. Mia and KoonieS are so cute.

 

I ended up with a lavender Romantic Mia, and extra OE Mia head (also lavender), and a WS Romantic KoonieS (since i have her open eye sculpt, too). I got both the special and basic faceups for the girls, too.

You know, I might be mistaken, but I thought these dolls were being released only through July, and then being removed from the permanent line--like the Dandy boys and FoC girls? I don't mean to cause panic--but I thought I read that somewhere.

 

I was taking my info from krystyna's post on the previous page. I took that to mean that the outfits were limited but the dolls were not? Maybe I misunderstood.
If they're not basics I might have to go back and get R. Mia!

 

Congrats on your orders, everyone! Looks like I'm joining in on the fun, too...I've wanted a Peak's Woods doll for a while, and these re-released FOBs are stunning. I put an open-eyed Mia de Butterfly in lavender-pink skin with the special hands and purple nail polish on layaway. I've been searching for the right doll for an OC, Evangeline, since I started the hobby, and every time I thought I'd found her, I changed my mind. So excited!

Also, I think Cydril has the right of it here...the outfits are limited, but there was no mention of the dolls being so. The new FOB body is staying up there after the event ends, so I would assume the heads are, as well?

Big Congrats on everyone's orders!!! I'm living vicariously through you all as I'm really in love with the Romantic Mori Moth, but I will have to think about her a bit more as I need to save up for part 2 of the Summer event when the new Dandy boys are released. I'm very keen on getting another SD boy from them, especially if they re-release a limited version of Cosmo.

 

I just made a big order for my Christmas present to myself this year! KoonieS with the special makeup along with some manicured hands as well as a bunch of extras - thank goodness for layaway (which also means my girl will be all paid off and here in time for Christmas). I cannot wait, my first MSD and from a company I've admired for a long time as well.

Also no other company has made me smile the way Peakswoods has during the setting up of my order and when answering my questions. So sweet and lovely! I'm glad I'm giving them all my money :P

 

Haha, if I make a Christmas order for myself, nobody else will be getting Christmas presents from me! I did just finish my FoC layaway, though~ So excited!

Aren't they the sweetest?? I don't have much experience with other companies, and only one other experience with a direct order from a different company, but Peak's Woods is top of my list for customer service! Pan is always so gracious and cheerful, it's easy to love them!

 

I agree with there great customer service. I got a few emails from them for my Lady Bee order, one confirming the order, one for the payment and one answering my Q+A board question. I was blown away. I've never got that anywhere else. Peakswoods is definitely going to be taking more of my money.

 

Ended up ordering a normal skin Romantic ladybug with normal bust on a two part layaway. The customer service is wonderful.

 

I have been going back and forth between romantic lady bee or morimoth. I kind of want to just splurge and get the extra head so that way it's like having two dolls in one. I thought I was done getting any more dolls this year, but their re-release is amazing; I love the new bodies. I want to get one of thes girls in the lavender skin with the special make up and fancy hands. I'm just afraid that when I see the Dandy boys in August, this unstoppable obsession to get one will happen again. I'm glad that at least I will be able to order a Dandy boy head and borrow another one of my doll's bodies for it.

 

I certainly understand the difficulty making up ones mind during this awesome summer event. Buying an extra head is an excellent idea and could work well for some...but I know from personal experience it just wouldn't work for me. Floating heads drive me absolutely crazy! So I had to struggle with which one to get, and it took me an entire week of going back and forth before I finally chose Romantic Mia in lavender. And as so many here have said, Peakswoods customer service was wonderful. I've been in the hobby for many years but have always purchased through USA dealers or through DoA's marketplace. But the reports of Peakswoods excellent reputation made me brave enough to buy directly from the company, and it was an amazingly easy transaction.

 

I finally put my order in for an open eyed Mia in lavender-pink resin with the large bust, purple nails & blushing, heeled feet, and the special faceup with a request for them to use the colors that they used on the closed eyed model & black eyelashes. Very excited for this doll!

What size wig do these girls wear. My Yeru the soul has quite a big head and I figure these girls are likely the same.

Trying to soothe my wait time with some wig shopping.

 

Does peakswoods offer tan skin normally, or only during events? I'd really like a tan romantic Mia, but Idk if I can swing two dolls in one month

 

Usually during events, but since the FOBs will be basic, I don't know if tan or lavender will be basic colors. I would go ask them, but I feel like I've already asked enough this month heh heh

She is just so pretty and the make up are fantastic. She look good with the oscar eyes.

I really shock with her stand-ability!!! She can stand very well.
The muse body is really really good. Also, she can pose many posture.

Please don't take serious for the skin colour comparison as I have poor lighting at home. The colour in the photo is far from what I see.
