Can you buy the mini PW heads seperately?

 

This is my Morimoth...
She is so cute...^^although I think her face is a little flat


the eyes are 16mm glass eyes
wig is from bluefairy:p

 

I have a Mori Moth, such a lovely face but she really doesn't pose a well as I'd like. I have an old Delf Kid body and the Peaks Wood body isn't anywhere near as flexible in my opinion.

 

Well, my girls weren't too happy when I spent the evening ripping their heads off

Please bear in mind my Kid Delf is the oldskin and the old body.

The heads look in proportion, the PW neck is slightly narrower than the old KD but not so that there's a big gap. The PW head seems to perch on the KD neck but then the PW neck hole is much shallower than the KD. the KD neck may need a little sanding for a perfect fir but there's no restricted movement, in fact there's at least as much movement if not more with this head swap. Do bear in mind that the new KD body seems to be slightly thinner than the old one but if there isn't too much difference then the hybrid should be fine with a small amount of modding.

Resin wise it's harder for me to tell because the KD is old and has yellowed. (She's an adopted Elf Ani so I don't know exactly how old she is and she's with her original faceup. Her head is darker than her hands and body.) Looking at the resin colour on the inside of her headcap and allowing for the usual pinkiness of CP resin I don't think it'll match exactly but it looks like minor blushing would do the trick on an older KD body. If you are going for a newer one there may be more difference, on the other hand, you won't worry about yellowing bodies because it should help.

Even the single jointed KD body is much more poseable than the PW one but I'd be interested to have feedback on a PW/new KD match, or a PW/MNF hybrid.

 

I'm curious of what size clothing fit them best. The average sized (volks msd) or slim sized (mnf)?

 

I believe he is normal skin in the promo pics. Peakswoods white skin is paler I believe.

I still want him as a girl... XD I can't wait to see owner photos, or photos with different eyes/wigs.

 

I would rather have him as a girl as well! I wish they had some sort of choice system; where you could pick which head and body you wanted.

That would be fantastic. I guess Fairyland's spoiled me with their a la carte system, even if I haven't used it for gender switching. XD Is there any way to buy just the head? I see options for a body or the different bust options, but not for just the head. That's just plain confusing, considering it's not like they offer a sleeping-head that you might need an extra body FOR. Do you know what I mean?

 

You can buy the SD sized heads separately (I just got Yami! YAY!). Not sure if you can get the MSD sized heads separately, maybe you should ask?

Ooh, thanks for the info!! And congrats on your SD-girl! I'll have to ask and see. In that case, I guess I should start looking at resin matches, just in case I decide to add Punky Beetle to the family.

Edit: I see the SD dolls have separate options for the head, but the MSD don't have that listed as one of the things you can buy. XP We'll see.

limedragon-- The only photo that shows the PW white skin and normal skin together, that I know of, is on the Peakswood homepage, before you choose which shopping mall you want to enter. It shows the three-panel photo of Goldie in her three skin tones: limited tan, normal, and white. That's the best I've found so far.

Thank you everybody ! I asked on the Inquire Board at Peakswood what skin tone Punky-Beetle's was in the promotions pictures to make sure and this is what they answered ^^:

 

They do, but the normal and white skin are fairly close compared to, say, BF or MNF resins. The gap between their normal and white is huge, but for some reason PW seems to have a closer gap. XP Which I like. I have a set of twins but one is supposed to be swan-white skinned and the other is supposed to have skin SLIGHTLY more peachy than hers, but... alas, one of them is a MNF. XD So the other one probably will be too.

I actually like their NS more than WS, I think. *Compares the Goldie photo again* Or maybe that's just on her. XD

And that goes to further prove my point on their closeness. Lol I could have sworn in some of those he was NS.

White Skin Olive... *Looks dreamy* Yeah, anyway, I'm kinda confused on how close the resin ACTUALLY is IRL as opposed to in photos. In photos it looks like they're close, but if they match CP/Fairyland resin... we'll see. I'll have to double check on it, but I'll let everyone know if I find anything out!

I don't suppose anyone has a MNF and a PW to compare for either normal OR white matches?

Yeah, I think that's a comparison of the white and normal skins. Wow... Yeah, their resin isn't as close as I thought.

Thanks for the faceless photo and the clearer shot of her in that white wig, limedragon. I really like her faceup too, especially in that photo. I really want to get "him" for no reason... A smiling girl would be adorable....

 

I received my Morimoth earlier this month. By emailing, I found you can request custom makeup. Which was a relief because Morimoth's default was too 'strong' for my liking.

I really like her-- but clothing her is a bit of a pain as she's slimmer than my Volks and can't share all that many clothes and shoes.

How much thiner would you say she is in the volk clothing? o3o

 

Congrats on your Morimoth, thaelia. I'm still hoping for Punky Beetle owner photos, since it doesn't look like I'll be buying anything but the one body I need for a long while. XP The economy only looks to get worse, and I need to save as much money as I can.

 

I'll order a Punky Beetle in the end of next month I'm so excited about getting him!

I got her in normal skin, as I'd thought about maybe swapping her body out for a Volks MSD one down the road. But when she got here I found I preferred her on the slimmer body instead.

Well, in Volks clothing aimed more towards MSD than SDC, it fits in a one size-too-big way. But the SDC clothes fit better. The Volks shoes are more or less hopeless. Way too big even with thick socks on.

MiniFeé clothing I found can be tight, but the looser stuff is doable.

 

I just got my Lady Bee today! Here she is posing with my Bobobie Espree. ): I didn't have enough for a wig, so I ended up making the one she's wearing.

Which wig size is better for them? 6-7 or 7-8?
I saw they say that the head is 7inch, so i'm curious which fits better?

btw... I heard that PW can fit on a bobobie body... has anyone tried that?

 

I found that 6-7 inch wigs fit better on my Morimoth than the 7-8 inch ones.

Well, a 7-8 inch is more apt to fall off. Especially if it's closer to 8 inches.

Pretty much all the MSD-sized wigs I had looked awkward on her. It's just as well I had a number of Yo-sized wigs on hand to try.

If compare the PW fob body to the MNF bodies I think you can see that the MNF body is better at posing

Meet Penelope. It occurred to me I never posted my Morimoth, so here she is.

I'd ask for custom makeup based on the Ladybee wig model. Still looking for eyes to replace the defaults, though.

 

I ordered her from the Peak's Woods site, and they did the custom faceup.

Mm.. resin wise it's pretty good, nice and dense. The best thing quality about the body is that it's a sturdy stander. My best stander on and in anything.

But compared to some of my other dolls, it just doesn't have the pose-ability they do. The body is slimmer, and I've found clothes made for fashion dolls fit fairly well.

 

I ordered her without a faceup, actually. I want to do my own. So, only a few more weeks, probably! I still need to make her some clothes. I think I have some patterns that will work well.
I have her look sketched out. I know her face isn't exactly like a Mory Moth.

 

Hi everyone,

I just got my elf Lady Bee and noticed that her seams are a mess. I've been trying to research and most people seem to say that they don't mind seams because they're not particularly prominent. Well, I can't really make a proper judgment because the only other resin I have is an Aod, which comes sanded when you buy it, but I'd say Lady Bee's seams are pretty prominent. They're quite obvious and fairly jagged in some areas. Only my old camera phone is working so I can't really show them, but I can see the ones on her arms from 2 meters away. I think that's pretty prominent.

She looks cracked - the only ones that are faint are the ones from her neck to her shoulder - and I can see with those how you would disregard them and maybe consider them to give her character, but her arms and legs look pretty bad.

So has anyone else had problems with Peak's Woods doll having really bad seams?

 

Twisted_Ivy- I have only had one doll with seams and his were pretty minor. In fact I didn't notice until I looked for them. DO you think you can sand them to make them less noticeable? That is what I would do if they bothered me.

 

Twisted_Ivy: My Punky Beetle's seams on his arms (I think it was his arms) really stood out and were visible but since I've sanded him (a bit) so they aren't that noticeable.

 

I see...thanks guys. I didn't think they would bother me and they didn't at first but they're just so glaringly obvious! And I'm scared to sand them because of the whole toxic resin thing and because apparently sanded areas are more prone to yellowing? Which is also worrying me since I ordered NS but she's MUCH paler than Aod, Leekeworld, and Dollndoll NS so I'm thinking that maybe they sent me WS by mistake too. @_@

 

I have heard more than once that the NS is very pale, so the WS for PW may be more like Bobobie, which is paper white. If you sand in water you wont have the dust. Also, I have read that sanding doesn't necessarily cause more yellowing, but sun exposure will. It is up to you, of course. Clothing can hide seams just as well too.

 

I got my girl! She is wonderful- stood right out of the box. The resin is a peaches and cream color (NS) and is very smooth. The parting lines are not very noticeable. She is definately bigger than my RS Ju even though they call her a slim mini.
I named her Lydia Amorette Ambrosine, and she will eventually be a steampunk girl.

I have posted her box opening already.

 

Thanks P-Elflet! That is a Kimono set bought on the marketplace. I wanted it for her, but then I used it for my Rs Ju's box opening. It still fits Lydia better. The blonde wig I was going to try on Lydia was way too small and fit my Ju, Eglantine, perfectly. There is a huge difference in size between the RS minis and PW FOB girls. I was surprised at how big she was!
