Peak's Woods Mini Discussion Thread

    1. 7/8 definitely! Their heads are regular MSD sized and 6/7 will be too small.

    2. Thank you!

    3. I am able to fit my FoB girl Yeru into 6/7 Leekeworld wigs if that's any help. I couldn't say for other wig brands however.

      • x 1
    4. I actually measured both of my FOB girls heads tonight, and they vary a little! My FOB Mona has a smaller head than my Dotty Muse. However I’ve bought both of my dolls LeekeWorld wigs, the same wig in two different sizes (6/7 & 7/8), the 6/7 sizes were too small for both of my girls. 7/8 is a little loose, but I couldn’t get the 6/7 on at all.

    5. LeekeWorld wig sizing varies amongst the same size. I have one of their standard wigs and one of their art wigs both 6-7 bought at the same time and the art wig is noticeably smaller.

    6. I put a new wig on my V.F. Mona; I think she looks pretty in some wild curls. :)

    7. She looks great! I’m so in love with the red around her eyes. The brown wig goes so well with it.

    8. @ViperOrchid she’s so pretty and that wig looks great on her! She kind of gives me classic Hollywood starlet vibes.

    9. Did anyone else participate in the photo contest? Here are some of my favorite photos I took of my Vampire Mona~

    10. @ViperOrchid very nice photos! I especially liked your tea with the princess idea. I put my human Mona in the contest as well with the Forest spirit theme.

I had a really hard time picking what photos to use for the contest, so I made a gallery here with the rest of them for fun.

    11. @blackcat87 Thank you! Your photos are also very nice. I think Mona works great as a dark forest spirit.

    12. @ViperOrchid PW just makes such beautiful and versatile dolls. I really had fun making Mona into something she usually isn’t. She borrowed her “look” from my V. Dotty Muse doll’s wardrobe. I hope they host more photo contests in the future I enjoyed seeing what everyone put together for it.

Do you have any doll plans for the upcoming event? I might finally be ordering a green girl :XD:

      • x 1
    13. @blackcat87 I'm hoping for more photo contest, too, especially for an FOC.

I really love Kuna the Dark Elf, but I have to finish a layaway for Soul Doll and I want to save for a body for my Hunky Dory Head, so I might have to wait for the next one. It looks like Kuna will get a basic release based on the pictures, thankfully, and I think she'll make a good sister to my Mona.

      • x 1
    14. @ViperOrchid Kuna looks like she’d make a great sister to your v. Mona one day!

I love the new limited faceups they’ve come out with this time but I have to admit I’m a little disappointed PW doesn’t seem to make “darker” themed faceups for the FOB size nearly as much as they do for FOC. I’ve been hoping for a gloomy green vampire lady bee, but waiting and not knowing if they’ll come out with something like that is hard. I’ll probably cave and still get a ladybee this time around.

I could be wrong but it seems like PW tends to only release one sculpt size per event, kind of keeping FOC and FOB on rotation, so I’m guessing there won’t be any FOB available for their fall/Halloween event.

    15. @blackcat87 A gloomy green V. Lady Bee sounds cool! I've noticed a lack of darker faceups on FOBs, too. Maybe you could commission a faceup artist? I know I've seen Komorebi Dolls and Alatexin do darker anesthetics before.

I think you're right that FOCs will likely be released around Halloween this year, which is kind of a bummer since they did an FOC release for Halloween last year.

      • x 1
    16. I love the limited makeup on v. Lady Bee! I've been waiting for a FOB release and can't wait to finally get one!
Are the limited makeups time limited (available as long as the order period is active) or limited in number? I was wondering about this and wasn't sure where to look.

    17. @EagleVision1999 The limited faceups are time limited and are available for the entire ordering period, unless otherwise specified.

      • x 1
    18. I’m definitely (finally) getting my vampire Lady Bee this time around.

I only wish I could see Misty’s limited faceup on another resin color. It’s hard to tell how vibrant the pink blushing and eyeshadow actually are when it’s already on pink resin. I think I like Misty’s limited faceup style more, but since I like bright faceups, the Forest spirit one is a safer decision. I’m thinking I can still make my girl dark and gloomy with the rest of her styling. If it comes down to it, I can always send her off to Komorebi dolls or Alatexin like @ViperOrchid suggested! I just love PWs faceups so much they are hard to pass up.

Does anyone have pictures of their “romantic” French tips? I wasn’t sure if there was a big difference between that and the normal French tips. I asked PW and they said romantic ones have more pink. I’m guessing V. Lady Bee with the Forest spirit faceup has romantic French tips.

      • x 1
    19. I...was assuming Lady Bee had the Romantic French Tips in those pictures because they look like they were blushed fairly heavily (compared to pictures of French Tips I've seen). In any case I bought the Romantic version, I'm sure her hands will look super pretty even if I made bad assumptions.

Misty's pictures do make it difficult to tell how much pink is in the faceup, I think. I generally find it hard to imagine what those faceups would look like on different skin, however, so I wasn't sure if it was just me:sweat

I'm also getting Vampire Lady Bee and tried to pick the options that would make her look most like the promo pictures because she's basically perfect in those (love the green!).

      • x 2
    20. @EagleVision1999 you're right about the nails. I compared them to another green dolls older promo pictures and the current v. Lady Bee has much more vibrant ones. Either way it is impossible to go wrong with any of PWs blushed hands and nails, they’re always gorgeous!

    21. @blackcat87 I was curious about the Romantic French Tips too - I just took a closer look at V Lady Bee's nails after reading your post, (there's two really good photos of her hands in her listing - photos 5 and 6), and to me, they look like a combo between French Tips and Pink Gradation. What do you think?

I'd love to see the Romantic and regular French Tips side-by-side though! :)

I'm planning on ordering an emerald green Little Yeru with the Forest Spirit face-up. :D I really love the "Basic" Misty too! :thumbup

I'd hoped to order Mia de Butterfly in the next FOB event, but she is "sold out" on the "Basic FOB" page. Though, I was surprised to see that her head is available in White only in the "FOB Parts" page... I wonder what that is about...

      • x 2
    22. @Apocatiel I think calling the romantic nails a cross between a pink gradation and French tips is a good way of putting it. I compared V. Lady Bees nails with the dark elves V. R. Dotty muse promo pic and you can definitely tell a difference. You can see a little more of the natural resin color peeking through with the traditional French tip nails.

Little Yeru is going to look adorable! I asked PW if they planned on selling FOB size in the Fall/Halloween event but I haven’t heard back. I’m guessing no since it seems like they only focus on one size per event, buuut I’m still hoping. Maybe Mia will be on the next one for you!

    23. I haven't posted any pictures in ages because I haven't really photographed my BJD's in a while but yesterday my PW girls were calling me.

I just love the vampire hands! But I guess I love everything about her anyway...
Lucretia is a vampire romantic Dotty Muse in emerald green. The resin colour is so lovely! I wish it had existed when I ordered my Rosemii. Blue/ Green/ Mint resins are always my favourite in any company.

I didn't participate in the photo contest since I don't use any of those sites needed in participation. If they hosted a photo contest on their own pw site then I would try my luck.

    24. @suruni shes beautiful! I love how well the blues of her outfit go with her resin color, face up and hands. I just ordered my first emerald green girl and I can’t wait to see it in person!

    25. Her hands are gorgeous in those colors, wow. I love Peakswoods emerald green, it's probably my favorite resin color I've ever laid eyes on. :love

    26. I wanted to share my Romantic Lady Bee in suntan! She actually arrived November last year, but with work and moving I only just got around to dressing her up >__<;

      Edit - I just realized the pictures disappeared so I re-added them...hopefully they stay this time! ^^;;

    27. Omg, I got my Vampire Lady Bee already! :D
She's beautiful! I also like the random wig I got with her, she'll stay like this. I'm also glad the eyes I bought for her fit, I had a moment of doubt where I thought she might need 16mm, but these 14mm fit as intended. I put her in Myou Doll's Daisy outfit because it's the only thing I've got that fits the 'forest spirit' theme.

    28. @tarocake theyre both beautiful! I love those pink nails on your Dotty muse and every time I see a PW in suntan it makes me think I might need one too!

@EagleVision1999 congrats on your new girl, she’s a vision! I’m so happy you shared her, I am even more excited to receive mine in a few months now. She looks lovely with the yellow and bright blue eyes.

    29. Thank you! I "painted" the nails myself, so I'm glad they turned out well :XD:
I really like the suntan color too!

    30. I’ve had my new girl for almost a month now but haven’t gotten any great pictures yet because the sun always seems to be hiding! A window shot is the best I have. Anyway I just adore her! She needs more clothes and she is borrowing this wig from another doll (but I think she secretly wants to keep it). I think I’ll be naming her Astor.

    34. @EmmiImee your Lady Bee is gorgeous as well! The shade of her wig + dress match so well together and they really compliment her faceup and emerald green skin!

    35. Hi all!
I've just managed to snag a second-hand FoB Romantic Mia (from 2016 School of Rock release). She is in Blue-Grey resin!
It'll likely be a couple of weeks before she gets here though. So, I was hoping some of you might be willing to post pics of your Mias? And, I'd love to see more pics of Peakswoods Blue-Grey resin too (maybe next to NS?). It's a new resin colour to me, and the Peakswoods FoB girls size are new to my collection too.:D

      • x 2
    36. Congrats on your Romantic Mia, @miffimifster ! Looking forward to pics - the Grey colors look very appealing to me. I ordered a Romi last week during the event, and while the Moonlight Grey resin looks EXTREMELY pretty, I opted to stick with what I know and selected White skin. It could be I'm more in love with the idea of Grey skin than how it actually appears in person. Since it's a new resin color for you too, I'm eager to know what you think when she arrives!

Seconding that some Grey + other comparison shots would be useful, as well, if anyone has 'em!

      • x 1
    37. This isn't my photo but it's a really good compassion of normal vs blue grey resin:

I recently ordered Mimi Crow Blue in blue-grey resin and can post comparisons when she arrives :)

      • x 5
    38. Thank you! Great comparison pic!
Quite the contrast. The more photos I see of the Blue Grey, the more I like it, for sure!

    39. I’m leaving the hobby and selling all my bjd’s. I have 4 FOC’s and 1 FOB. I have a record for the Fairies of Colour, but non for my Dolly Muse, because I never did anything with her. Here are my questions

what does FOB stand for? Measurements? She was my last purchase and I think I got her with a retro faceup, does that sound right?

thanks everyone. I really loved my PK’s dolls the most.

    40. FOB stands for "Faries of Bugs" and that's their MSD sized line. Very similar in size to minifee. FOC stands for "Faries of Colors" which is their SD line, and then with "Dandy" added to FOC it's their SD boy line.

      [FOB Size info]

Height : Flat Feet 44~44.5cm, Heel Feet 44.5~45cm (including head)
      Circumference of neck : 7cm
      Width of shoulders : 8cm
Circumference of chest : 16.8cm (small bust)
Circumference of chest : 17.6cm (normal bust)
Circumference of chest : 18cm (large bust)
      Circumference of waist : 13.7cm
      Circumference of hips : 20cm
Length of arms : 14.5cm (not including hands)
      Length of legs : 25cm
      Length of foot : 5.8cm

    41. Thanks, it’s the FOB info I needed. I think I mentioned I have 4 FOC’s and know their info. It’s hard to see the FOC’s go, but I hope to find good homes.

    42. Haven't taken higher quality photo yet, but here's a quick one of my Mia:

      Mia

      She arrived yesterday.
8 years old, her blue-grey resin has definitely yellowed (evenly), and turned into a minty-grey. Very pretty nonetheless. Faceup in excellent condition.

Kinda wanting more FoB dolls now... lol

      • x 3
    43. Ooh, @miffimifster, she's lovely! The grey yellowed into such a delicate and unique hue. Yellowing aside, she looks in amazing condition. What plans have you got for her? :abambi:

      • x 2
    44. Yes! It's like the resin colour was intended to be minty-grey. It's such an even tone.

Thank you! No plans really though. Just enjoying her cute look.

      More Mia

    45. I made folders for my peakswoods pictures on Flickr, not all are exactly good pictures but I hope people like to browse anyway:
      1/4 girls
      1/3 girls

I own more of the 1/4 ones. Please be aware I adjusted some of the face ups slightly. (I like to enhance the smiles a bit more, peakswoods face ups tend to look a bit sad)

    46. I think this next order might be time for me to get a peaks wood girl! I'm debating between emerald green, moonlight gray, or lavender pink.

I would love to see some more lavender pink girls if anyone has one!

    48. I decided on a lavender pink Kuna the Dark Elf! Put my order in last night and just waiting for a confirmation for a four month layaway!

      • x 2
    49. Hello I just bought a FOB little kuna from denverdoll and I am looking for clothing and shoes that will work for her. Does anyone have suggestions about where to buy them? Thank you for your suggestions!!!

      • x 2
    50. @Reslie congrats! Most standard msd tops will fit, as well as standard msd pants. I’d only recommend to double check sellers dolls measurements on Etsy for pants and bottoms because PW girls really are a bit thicker on the bottom half. Minifee shirts can fit a lot of the time but will look much smaller on PW girls because their busts are bigger and their arms and torso longer/lankier. I’ve had all around good luck with Dollmore clothing as well.

    51. Ah, I've been having a tough time connecting with my Romi. I've acquired a few other new dolls who've won my heart instantly, and I just haven't made the same kind of connection with my Romi. I'll be turning my focus to my other dollies for the time being.

      edit for brevity!

    53. @hollyholly sorry you’re having a hard time bonding with your Romi. She is a sculpt you don’t see very often but one I’ve always liked. Yours has a lovely ghostly air to her. I hope you find her “look” maybe you’ll bond a little better with her once it clicks. I really like the outfit you picked out for her. My v. Dotty Muse is actually wearing a very similar jacket at the moment :XD: I think the dark brown hair and headband look great too!

    54. Speaking of my V. Dotty Muse I’m not sure if I have ever shared her on here before! It can be such a quiet thread that it sometimes slips my mind. I love seeing everyone’s beautiful PW dolls though. I hope they make some FOB boys one day.

    55. I can understand the disappointment but sometimes it just takes the right look to make a doll click for you. I think she has a lovely and unique look which might make it challenging to settle on a look. I personally like her in the warmer colors.

I've also run into situations where I already had a look in mind but realized after they arrived that it just didn't work. Took me awhile to give up on my original idea

      • x 3
    56. I appreciate the encouraging words! The most challenging thing about this hobby is how patient one must be. I've been considering some new "personalities" of dress that may work better for her than my initial plan. I'm optimistic! And feeling all excited about pulling her new look together, haha. Thank you both!! <3:)

      • x 2
    57. @hollyholly Yes, Romi has a mysterious air about her. Maybe she's into reading or painting or dance or music. Maybe she's in a band.
Since I don't know what your initial impression of her was....
Ah! How about trying glamour days of the past? Possibly flapper era through old Hollywood. (I could see at a microphone. Or even being that dame that walked in and ends up breaking a detective's heart.) Expand from there?
But, I guess she could also wear overly simple timeless fashion type. Meanwhile, she could talk philosophy all night long.

      • x 4
    58. @tinyflame I've determined that a very short bob - flapperesque! - is a daring, cute look on her. My ideas are much in line with yours - I'm getting to know her better and better. She's got a lot of glam. My original ideas for her were very scrappy and boyish - totally wrong!! She's got some real feminine mystique going on. She'll come together, I know it. ;)

      • x 3
    59. I think one of the things that makes the hobby both wonderful and challenging is that each doll (even when the sculpt is the same) can be so unique. At one point, I fell in love with someone's vampire Tristan doll because of how angelic it looked. I ended up buying my own but due to slight differences in the resin color & makeup. However, the angelic look didn't work for her at all! At first, I was a bit disappointed but she turned out to be a wonderful dark angel
