Hello, reviving this thread. I was wondering what body hybrids well with an FOB Normal Skin head?

 

My vampire princess Lucretia (vampire romantic dotty muse in emerald green) finally has her eyes, wig and clothes ready!

I'm curious if those who ordered FOB dolls during the April RabbitHolic ordering window have received their dolls? I received my Mori Moth on July 30th! I was so amazed - I had figured I'd receive her well into autumn. Only a 3-month wait! Awesome!

I'm really surprised that no one has posted yet! Since no one else has posted, I have felt a little hesitant to spam the board with my own photos! O_O

The reason I'm writing, is that I'd love to see photos of everyone else's dolls - unboxing, photo shoots, and any other experiences people would like to share!

I'm also curious and excited to see owner photos of the limited edition RabbitHolic face-ups and clothing. My Mori Moth has the not-so-basic "basic" Peak's Woods face-up - oh man, it is so pretty! Those eyelashes.... <melts> And she's sparkly! ^_^ <LOVE!!>

Her body sculpting is SO detailed - from creases on her hands to the little ankle bone. I'm so glad I went for Peak's Woods for my first BJD! And, I am so so glad they offered Mori Moth - I fell head over heels in love with her when I first learned of Peak's Woods and went to their site in January 2021. I was worried she had been retired, because all photos I had found on Flickr, were from around 2015 at the latest. But nope, she was available in April!

To me, she looks so much like a happy little songbird. (I'm building her character story around birds. She is also an artist.). ^_^

I have unboxing photos of my Mori Moth - if anyone is interested, I'll post some of them once I get them up on my Flickr. I'm planning some photo-shoots too, that I'd like to post if there is interest. I just feel a little hesitant, since no one else has posted photos - I don't want to spam and annoy everyone!

 

When it comes to photos where the doll is nude, is it okay to post the photos as taken, or is it more appropriate to edit the photo so that the "private areas" are obscured, or to put undergarments on the doll?

 

@Apocatiel Congratulations on your new girl, and yes…please feel free to share photos! We’d love to see them! As for nude photos, especially in box openings or to illustrate a body, it’s all good! We’re all used to some necessary nudity when it comes to BJDs since bodies are a big part of this hobby. I hope this puts your mind at ease.

 

The more I see peaks woods dolls the more they’ve grown on me. I’m really interested in their fantasy colors (that emerald green ).

Do they pose well? I used to have a more diverse group of dolls back in the day, but once I got a minifee they took over my hobby and I feel a little spoiled with their posing ability. These are the first dolls outside of Fairyland that have tempted me since exclusively collecting minifees.

How often do they release the fantasy colors? Is it a pretty regular thing? Are you usually able to order them through Denver Doll Emporium as pre-orders when there’s an event?

 

She’s adorable, love the color of her and her eyes,wig, and outfit are perfect. Did you make her outfit?

@mydaffer Yes, I made the outfit. It consists from three layers of dresses (one underdress and two diffrent type of dresses on top of that) plus the coat. It's a mix of different centuries since the character the doll is based on has lived since 14th century.

 

That’s even more amazing that it’s custom and she looks amazing like that too! Lovely photo! I’m going to have to pay more attention to my girl.

 

@PoeticSoul - Okay, awesome! I didn't think it would be a problem, but I just wanted to make sure, since I've seen some nudity warning messages on YouTube and Flickr and such.

I'll be posting my photos in the next couple of days. I'd LOVE to see others' new FOB dolls too! ^_^

I also recently ordered the full-set of Nana from the RabbitHolic event - she is in the lavender-pink resin, with everything, even the rabbit ears! (ohh those freckles....!) So cute!

I've been shopping around for the perfect wig for her skin tone. I'm thinking about a deep violet at the moment. She's on layaway with Denver Doll, and I won't be receiving her until around March, so I have a lot of time to shop.

If anyone has any advice about wig colours that would look good with the lavender-pink resin, please let me know! ^_^

 

Okay, I just read all 46 pages of this thread (phew) trying to soak up all the PW pictures and learn as much about them as I can! 2016 was an active year here lol I wish it would pick up like that again. I’m surprised no one has been talking about the winter event that just passed. Did anyone order?

I’ve been wanting a green skinned doll for as long as I can remember and was so excited to see they opened that up as an option this time around. BUT before the event began, I spent a long time looking at the moonlight grey rabbit holic little Mona in stock at DDE, and the more I fell for her. It was such a hard choice between her and an emerald green little Romi… I don’t think I’ve ever been so conflicted about a doll choice! In the end I went with Mona because I really like that limited faceup, she is already made and in the US. I truly hope another chance will come around to get an emerald green Romi though!

@Pyoko Congratulations she will be a beauty I would have picked her in emerald green as well if they had offered her with the fully open eyed option! I’m still new to their site but it seemed like they were just sticking to the romantic version this time around. I love Dotty Muse though and those little fangs are irresistible! You must have an amazing collection, I have a strong feeling this won’t be my only PW FOB either

As for the head option, you can choose which head you want with a drop down menu.
Go to the order page of the doll
For example FOB Vampire Romantic Dotty Muse_Dark Elves

The first drop down menu allowes you to choose the head you want the event make up on.

They are also very nice and responsive, you can ask them everything you might be unsure about through their QnA board.

 

@Pyoko thank you for the tip! I did see all the heads in the drop down menu, but I just wasn’t sure if they were truly available, it’s great to know for next time! I think I’m in trouble, my little Mona is on layaway, so not even home yet, and I’m already dreaming of the day where I can order another

Would love to see anyone’s spam while I wait for my doll, I can’t get enough of them lately. Now I just have to stay on the hunt for the perfect shade wig I’m picturing for her and getting her a few things before her arrival!

 

Romantic vampire Dotty Muse in green skin is definitely a good choice! I love my michievous girl! I want to take pictures of her with my PW Rosemii since I think they look like a big and little sister but I've had such a busy December I haven't had time to do any doll stuff.

 

@suruni your Dotty Muse is stunning! It’s great to see a custom faceup, I think they’re hard to find because PW makes such beautiful ones already, but I love getting to see the diversity of sculpts with individualized looks. The pink and blue really pop with her green skin. Looking forward to seeing pictures of your duo one day!

I agree that PW's face-ups are stunning but I decided not to order my Dotty Muse with the Dark Elves face-up since it was too dark and mature for the character I had in mind. And the cost of the face-up was one reason too... My Rosemii does have the gorgeous PW face-up though sometimes I feel it's too brown for her bluegrey skintone. I don't like brown in general.

 

I ordered during the winter event! ^_^ I ordered a emerald green Lady Bee (Elf Ears) with the Little Yeru Dark Elf limited makeup. I fell in love with @suruni 's emerald green doll, and also several others I've seen in this thread! I'm so happy Lady Bee was one of the few with elf ears - I like her a lot and had her sculpt in my wish list. I really loved how the elf ears were painted in the Dark Elf face-up - the pink tips of the ears - so pretty! I loved the contrast of the pinks and purples with that beautiful green skin. Peak's Woods has particularly pretty green skin dolls - it looks to me to be more of a mint green than emerald!

One of the projects I have planned for Lady Bee is creating an "Absinthe Green Fairy" outfit in greens, purples, and blacks.

 

@suruni I agree about the browns potentially clashing with the grey skin! I love love love my incoming doll’s faceup but a part of me worries about the brownish blond coloring with the moonlight grey resin, and I wonder if another color might have complimented her more. I found the perfect dress for my girl style wise but passed because it’s primarily beige in color and I just can’t picture it going with grey skin.

@Apocatiel that’s so exciting! I hope you share pictures, I may need to live vicariously through all of the green doll owners, I’m such a fan of it! And the elf ears paired with those little fangs *sigh* one day I’ll bring one of those green beauties home. An “absinthe green fairy” sounds just perfect for Lady Bee. I’m drawn to all the rich purples and teals to go with that green resin too. It looks like PW does such a wonderful job blushing all the fine little details on their dolls, like their ears and hands, it makes me fall for them more and more.

My Mona arrived this week, and I’m still working on a name for her, but I am so impressed! She is going to be my ghoulish girl for sure. The only thing I was truly disappointed about was that she came with the special long nailed, blushed/painted hands… but they sent me two right hands on accident! I was so excited for those beautiful hands and they really added to that ghostly look I was going for. Denver doll is trying to contact PW to see if there’s anything that can be done, but my hopes are low since they’re in the moonlight grey color.

Anyway it’s just a quick snap I took of her the day she was unboxed, but I thought I’d share it here because I honestly can’t get enough of her and that pretty grey skin tone/ sparkly eyes/ stunning faceup. This is the wig I was really hoping she could keep, but it’s a hard cap style meant to fit minifee and it sits too high on her forehead unfortunately, so my search for the perfect wig is still ongoing!

 

@blackcat87 Wow! Your Mona is stunning, and you’re right, a ghoulish character is absolutely perfect for her! What a gorgeous skin tone.

 

Have you guys found high heels that fit the FOB girls really well? I've ordered several pairs that have turned out to be too large.
Honestly any shoes, not just high heels lol.

 

@blackcat87 She is gorgeous! I'd be surprised if Peak's Wood wasn't able to get you new hands. I've run into issues in the past where I had an urban brown girl come with some damage and they remade the body for me.

 

@PoeticSoul Thanks! I really hope I can find some time / better lighting to take more pictures of her soon. I really would love some with a ghostly theme or background! And it might help me decide on the right name for her.

@EmmiImee Thank you! That is so good to hear, I really pictured those hands as a part of her character. I’m hoping at the very least if nothing else can be done for now, that Peakswoods will let me just order the hands the next time they’re having an event with that resin option!

Since there’s been questions on here about what shoes might fit these dolls, and I haven’t gotten any yet myself, I was wondering if anyone has tried shoes from the Etsy shop MoriTime? I’ve noticed some of their shoe listings say they’re a little too loose for minifee feet without socks, so maybe they’d be just right for the FOB size. For reference Minifee feet are 5.5 cm and FOB are 5.8 so not a huge difference. The minifee shoes I own that are a perfect fit are just barely too small for my FOB.

Thank you! My two right hands situation took a funny (and happy) turn. Another customer of Denver Doll emailed them because their moonlight grey doll arrived with two left hands! Peaks Woods must have gotten them mixed up. BUT me and the other customer have each mailed back one hand to DDE so we can swap them and have correct pairs. Mine should be delivered to my house in the next day or so

 

I’ve been making some little changes here and there with my Mona,
and I feel like her style is coming along nicely. I have some clothing commissions I’m waiting on that I’m very excited for. Now if only I could find her a realistic little pair of converse, but it seems like most shoes come either in minifee size or 6.5cm inner length… I’m really missing MarbleMoon shop right now!

@PoeticSoul thank you! I think I got lucky with her wig. When it arrived in the mail I couldn’t believe how perfectly it matched the color of her eyes, and how well the grey streaks matched her skin tone, it feels like it was made especially for her!

 

Is anyone else planning to get one of the new vampire fairy girls? I'm planning on a V.F. Mona because I just fell head over heels! I was originally planning a Vampire Lady Bee for a DnD character but Mona just stole my heart.

 

Me too, I just can't decide which skin I want XD I have a vampire Yeru in emerald green skin, so maybe something that would go well with green heh. The vampire Mona is super pretty

 

Maybe the lavender pink skin or the pink punch? From what I can tell the emerald green skin looks a little minty, and I always find that pinks look good with minty greens!

 

I’ve been looking at the PW site all day, there’s just too many beautiful options between the resin colors, sculpts and faceup choices. I just love their colors so much! The lavender pink skin is my favorite this time around. I really want a Romi in emerald green but I don’t think that will be an option anytime soon as the green isn’t available now, and it will be in October, but PW will only be making the vampire dolls at that time. *sigh* I think I just want to bring them all home.

 

I have a hard time choosing which one to buy too. So many options and cuties.

As for Oktober event; I would not give up hope. Most of the time they offer a lot of sculpts to choose from. Not just the one from the promotional pictures, but you will have a drop down menu where you can choose which head you want. And if Romi isn't there you can ask in the Q&A if you can order her.

 

@Pyoko do you plan on getting a doll during this event? I think I might wait for the next one even though I really do like the lavender pink PW has right now. I am going to keep an eye out for Romi and I’m looking forward to seeing what else PW comes up with!

At least I am mostly into the 1/4 ones, that's a bit cheaper than 1/3. Though I am hoping for the Halloween event to bring back FOC sentimentally wicked face ups

 

Random question; how is Peakswoods white and normal skin to those of other companies?
Is the white paper white or still a light skin color?

 

I'm trying to tell if the new lovely girls have elf ears or not. Because I want a girly with fantasy ears, and am trying to decide between the new Mona and romantic vampire Dotty Muse.

I'm also trying to decide which face-up I want, but that's a whole 'nother thing. The new rainbow ones are so pretty though!

 

As far as I can tell, all the recent vampire sculpts have elf ears. It's kind of hard to tell in the promo pics, but if you look real close you can see the pointy shape poking through. These 3 new girls definitely have the ears, as do the recent batch of the 3 "Dark Elves" girls.

 

Ah, yes, I was having trouble seeing in the promotional photo. They looked like they could be, but I wasn't 100% sure. I think I'll probably get Mona with the RabbitHolic face-up then! Still contemplating whether to get it in the pretty purple resin or in white. I'm weak for fantasy resin colors, but I haven't seen many girls in the Lavender pink yet!

 

@Magnus Vale I agree it looks like the new sculpts do have elf ears, but also if you look at the PW site in the FOB section under “parts” you can see all the head sculpts without faceup or wigs! I don’t think the newest heads are there yet but it might give you a better idea how they look! I wish so many of their promo pics didn’t have wigs that covered their foreheads and eyebrows, it makes it harder to choose which faceups to go with. Eyebrow shapes are important to me and blush on the forehead is always a plus.

I think I’m going to cave this time and get a vampire Dotty muse in Lavender pink… I just have to decide between the event faceup or the school of rock one. I wish I could mix pieces of both of the faceups! Hopefully I will be able to get my emerald green Romi one day, but I don’t want to miss out on the chance of getting one that’s been on my wishlist when it’s available now!

 

@blackcat87 Can confirm, I have definitely visited the heads page several times to look at sculpts! The new heads are not there yet, but I looked a bit closer at some of the promo pics on another page, and I can see a little ear tip for Mona sticking out in one of them, so I will be getting her. The more I looked at the new rainbow face ups, the more I liked them, so I'll be getting one of those (but without the stars). I'm hoping that she'll be the perfect shell for my little goddess character that I've been trying to put together (but if not, I'll love her anyway because she's adorable, haha).

I adore Dotty Muse, but they still haven't released a vampire elf version of her that's not romantic, so I'm holding out to see if that happens. I love her vampire version, so I'm praying for elf ears! If it doesn't happen in the next year or so, I'll probably spring for her regular vampire version, I just love her face. Can't wait to see your girl when she comes!

 

@Magnus Vale the new vampire Mona is so pretty! I think I would have gotten her too if I didn’t recently get her human version. It’s nice to see that they’re starting to make the vampire sculpts with the elf ears AND fully open eyes, it looks like in the past they only added those ears with the romantic versions. I would have loved a vampire Dotty muse with little pointy ears too!

 

@blackcat87 She really is! She's going to be my first Peak's Woods doll, I've been wanting one with one of their gorgeous face ups for a while! I was going to wait a little longer, but I really fell in love with Mona and the rainbow style. I hope they continue this trend with the open eyed sculpts with elf ears and fangs! The romantic ones are lovely, but they look a little too sleepy sometimes for me.

I hope you share her here whenever she makes it home, this thread could use some more spam and I can’t wait to see some owner pictures of the new rainbow faceups. The PW faceups are so unique and beautiful, there were 3 that I was really struggling to pick from but in the end I went with school of rock because it think it’s what made me really fall for Dotty Muse the first time I ever saw her! My girl is on a 4 month layaway so it’ll be a while before I get her.

 

@blackcat87 I really am! I definitely will share pictures of her when she arrives, it'll be a while because of the layaway for me too, but I am super pumped. I struggled myself between the new ones and the Rosemii Rabbitholic one, I adore the darker lips and white eyelashes! School of Rock Dotty Muse really is adorable, I remember loving the pictures from that set! I hope I'll be able to get an elf eared version of her in the future, I'll look forward to seeing pics of your girl when she gets here too!

 

I saw the Rainbow Fantasy face-ups and was enthralled! I'm going to buy KoonieS in normal skin with the Rainbow face-up. ^_^ KoonieS has been on my wish list - I just love her heart-shaped face and prominent, graceful chin.

The options are all so pretty that I've been shifting around my cart for a week and a half! o_O Lots of options! Lots of indecision!

I was wondering the same thing.... I wrote to PW, and they told me that it wasn't paper-white, but it was still a lot lighter than the normal skin.... Though, personally, I kinda think the normal skin is pretty light! I'd love to see a side-by-side comparison between PW white and normal!

 

Congratulations on getting KoonieS! She's such a gorgeous sculpt. I decided on V.F. Mona with the Rainbow Fantasy face-up, I thought it was too lovely to pass up.

I purchased her in white skin, and I have a FOC Tristan head in normal skin so maybe I can take some comparison photos when she arrives?

 

I did the cart shuffle dance too! In the end I had to close my eyes, hit the “complete order” button and just tell myself I that I can’t go wrong with any of them because they’re all gorgeous! Congratulations on your Koonie S! She does have a very gentle, graceful face.. I was comparing her to vampire Dotty Muse before making my order. She will look so great with that rainbow faceup.

 

I am curious what everyone here does with their doll’s hands when you’re changing their shirts. Do you keep your dolls hands on or take them off while putting the arms through restrictive or tight sleeves?

My Mona has the specialty hands with those long nails and pretty manicure/blushing. I couldn’t imagine dressing her top with those hands still attached, I’m too scared I’d scuff the paint or worse. I plan on using big safety pins to hold her elastic in place while I dress her instead of keeping her hands on. Are there any other better tricks that I haven’t thought of instead?

 

I also use the large safety pin trick when dressing my girl in tight fitting sleeves. It’s really the only safe way I’ve found to do it.

 

Hello there, gorgeous people. I don't own a PW MSD yet - YET - but I shall once I either can put up a WTB in a couple of weeks, or whenever the next preorder happens.

In the meantime I shall stare longingly at all your dolls. Especially the emerald skin ones. Especially Dotty Muse.

Hi there. Long time admirer of Peakswood. I was wondering on the body proportions, do slim mini clothes/shoes fit, or more standard MSD clothes?

 

Pendragon- definitely NOT slim mini stuff, neither the shoes nor clothes will fit. PW MSDs are a bit more slender than something like a Volks MSD, but they are big gals! Here is my girl next to a Doll Leaves body that is more in line with MNF proportions. You can see that her waist sits higher, her legs are thicker, and she's generally a good few centimetres taller in general. Forgive the photo quality:

 

This comparison photo is a huge help, thank you @LittleProblem ! The listed dimensions made them seem very close but side by side PW is much thicker and taller.

I'm excited. While nothing is solidified until my payment is sent, I'm getting a PW off the marketplace.
