I changed my Pan's outfit a bit, now I'm satisfied

She is beautiful even without faceup (hopefully)
Mine is still waiting for her horns' painting, her manicure and everything aside faceup, clothes and wig.

 

Hehe, I think these fauns like to go at a slow pace.
Balqis still needs her wig modified (or a new wig made for her) and her horns and hooves/legs to be painted. She is finally wearing a dress though!

It's so true though. This sculpt is really gorgeous blank.

 

Just having fun swapping around wigs today and found one that looked rather good on Balqis.

Hehe, it really does! Hm...now I have to decide if she should steal it. It's a tad loose on her though...
Someday I really need to figure out the wig/horns situation for her so that I can decorate her horns!

 

Is the company still active? I haven´t seen any updates for a long time.

 

I hope so! But it's true they haven't had any activity for some time now. I dearly love their style and it would be sad indeed to see them go.

 

Indeed! I missed out and really want one! I hope they have not stopped making dolls :O

 

I really do hope so as well! Was excited to see what other designs they came up with. The website doesn't appear to have been updated since during the MiSheng release .

 

They haven't even marked MiSheng as "sold out". I hope nothing has happened as they did hint to me that they may one day re-release LuoSheng and LuoNa.

I messaged them on Facebook and they responded fairly quickly (within a day), so it doesn't seem like they've abandoned things. That said, when I asked them about if they'll still be making and selling dolls, they responded that in the short term they won't be, but maybe in the long term they will be.

This really worries me and I wanted to ask them why, but I figured that would've been too prying so I didn't.

 

Ahhhh, thank you for asking @sno4wy ! I almost messaged them myself, but I'm super shy and got all nervous.
I'm glad that they are still around in some capacity. I think it is a very hard time for BJD companies right now...
I hope they are able to make more dolls at some point. My pan is absolutely gorgeous and it would be so sad to see them go. They have such creative and haunting doll concepts. Really works of art.

 

Speaking of, I also emailed them last week! I was asking if they had any Pans left (hey, you never know), and, if not, if they ever planned to rerelease her. They said they had none, and "If we have any plan in future, i will inform you." Which I suppose is a No.

Really sad to hear they seem to be taking a break! Happy to see they're still responsive, though.

 

I really hope that they'll re-release Pan! I had a really stupid reason for not getting her that turned out to be a non-issue (they said that she couldn't stand on her own at all and as others have shown in this thread, she can), so I've been pretty sad about it.

Anyway, I worked up the courage to ask if everything was ok, and they said that yes, they aren't in any trouble or anything like that, it's just that they've been busy with other things.

 

Same! I was too gun-shy with pan and thought "I dont like her thaaaaat much," turns out I did. I'd buy a rerelease!

I'm so glad to hear that everything is ok with them!

 

Hehe, I mean yes...she can technically stand, but I think they were right to say that she wasn't made to stand. It isn't something I would really have her do more than the once I already did just to see if it was physically possible at all. Hehe.

 

Ooooooh, I LOVE this! I've been away from DoA for about a year and to come back and see this gorgeous mod is super inspiring and just so amazing.

I'm back to revive this thread with pictures! I was sad to learn that Pathos Tale seems to be taking a break from making dolls, their sculpts are some of the most fascinating ones I've seen and I hope they come back with a new release or re-release in the future.

In the meantime, I finally have my Misheng completed and back from Theugliestwife who did her faceup! Her antlers even have some gold shimmer on them, which I couldn't really capture with my camera.
This sculpt is so hecking weird (in the best possible way) and I'm so glad I decided to not sell her and try to get her a faceup instead.

She's incredible. I really love the direction you've taken her in and that's a gorgeous faceup! My poor girl is still blank at the moment - need to take the plunge and buy an airbrush (for sealant) and some pastels so I can start working on her (and my two other blank dolls :S).

Also hope Pathos Tale are back on the scene soon, as think their dolls are really something special!

Thank you guys, I'm so happy you like her I was planning to take more pictures of her today, but of course its the most overcast its been in ages I tried a Leeke wig on her that I've had for about 8 years, and it surprisingly suits her really well! The only problem is that Leeke wig fibres feel so dry and difficult to handle, I don't know if I can fix 8 years worth of wig frizzing.

 

My Pan came back from makeup, I'm too happy with the result (thanks @Follow-the-Wind ^^ )

I like the beads on her, I'm not sure she needs 'real' eyes. I also like how her outfit recall her horns color. It was a great idea to ask black on her horns!

Still can’t get over how gorgeous your Misheng is! She inspires me to keep mine and actually do something with her someday. Would you mind letting me know where you got her wig from? I’m really struggling to find one for mine that works with her antlers .

 

@Follow-the-Wind thank you! I think she suits the sweet look, it contrasts very well with her imposing antlers, Your Pan is absolute perfection! All your dolls are amazing but she is one of my faves

@Vanytie Thank you so much! You should definitely try different things with your Misheng, I was kinda "eh?" about her plans until I found a great faceup artist and the right wig.
The wig she has now is a really old Leeke wig I got back in 2011 I think? It's a size 8-9 and I use a wig cap underneath so I can kinda put it on a little farther back and pull the bangs between the antlers to make it look a bit more natural. I don't know the specific style or if they still carry it, but I would imagine some of their other wigs with bangs would work just as well

 

Ahhh, this flood of beautiful Pathos Tale dolls is making me so happy. I've been sick for what feels like fooooorrreeeeevvveeerrr and just itching to do things with my dolls!
Scraped some energy together and took a quick pick of Balqis on my bed so she could join the fun.

That’s a good idea about using a headcap to pull the wig further back - will have to try it! I have a concept for my girl (winter theme with frosted antlers) but she is the only doll of mine who was bought just because I think she’s beautiful and not to shell a character, so I’ve wavered on whether to keep or sell her a few times. I’m back to thinking she’s too special to sell at the moment!

I haven't been very good about taking pictures, but today I finally had my first outdoors photoshoot with Rathnait, and wanted to share one of the pictures since there doesn't seem to be many of this sculpt around. Poor girl fell over into some yellow flowers and got stains on her white dress, but otherwise got away without damage
