Hello I'm hoping someone here who is familliar with the ordering process of Pathos tale might be able to help me. I'm about to order Misheng, and I'm having some slight difficulty actually getting her ordered. I made an account with Pathos because that was supposedly the easiest way to order, so I get her in the cart, choose my payment option, have my address filled in, click "pay online now" and nothing happens. I've tried different browsers to make sure. Do I click the confirm payment? I'm a little hesitant as that sounds like order complete and paid for.

I'd be very grateful for any assistance

EDIT: I figured it out, got the chrome to work and have ordered my Misheng I got her in pure white, and I am super excited to receive her! I've been looking for unusual looking sculpts to add to my fantasy group, and she is so perfect for my Dollshe Amanda's sort of adopted daughter/ward

By the way, I can't remember whether I said, but: I emailed Pathostale about whether they planned to re-release Pan (Their original listing for her implied about a "next time" she was released, so I was wondering). Unfortunately, they said they have no plans to re-release her in the near future. Time to put up a marketplace ad, I guess!

 

I'm not too sure - the description for MiSheng is similarly vague. They say it's her 'first sale', which implies there will be a second someday, but also refer to her as a 'limited edition' and say she will be 'discontinued'. I'm not completely familiar with doll terminology yet, but know that discontinued tends to mean permanently retired with some other companies... who knows. I asked them the question, as I didn't want to miss out on her this time if it's her only sale, but haven't had a reply as of yet (although have bought her now anyway).

I'm with you in hoping Pan will get another release; I would love her as well (kind of just want all the Pathos Tale dolls, lol!). Good luck with your Marketplace ad in the meantime though !

 

So, for those who have ordered from PT before, I have a question for you! I randomly jumped on their website and noticed that my order had changed from "Not been shipped" (or somesuch, which is what it has said since I paid it), to "Un-delievered". I do wonder if that means that it has been shipped. What do you think? As far as I knew, they weren't due to go out until December..

 

Hmm, interesting - mine has as well! Curious to see what people have to say. That's very exciting if it does mean they've been shipped; I wasn't expecting MiSheng until early next year :O.

I'm sorry to say that I can't help in that regard as I ordered my Pan through email.

 

Mine also says un-delivered, but I think it always said that since my order got confirmed, so I doubt there's any shipping yet, primarily since there's no email notification saying it's been shipped, and I cant see any trace of a tracking number on their website. You'd usually expect either or when it's shipped.

 

I was wondering the same thing about the tracking number. But I know that mine for certain didn't say that to begin with, it's only changes to that in the last week or 2 sometime. Do we know if they send out shipping notifications via email?

 

Shipping notice for MiSheng came through today! She will beat the DC I ordered in June and officially be my first BJD. Very exciting .

 

I got my shipping too! If I'm lucky she will be here before christmas, what a great present!

 

Awesome, congrats! Fingers crossed for a pre-Christmas arrival . One thing I'm a bit concerned about is the request to unpack the doll in the presence of the courier to check for damage... is this a typical thing? I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable asking the courier to wait around while I unpacked her (plus she will be my first BJD arrival, so I kind of wanted to do the unboxing at my own pace...) :S.

 

@Vanytie I can't recall ever getting this message from a company, but a lot of people have unpacked their dolls at the post office if the box has been damaged or something similar, myself included, but I don't believe it's mandatory or anything. They may just want us to be extra careful considering her big antlers, they're bound to be fragile.

 

Anyone else get charged the extra "remote location" postage fee? DHL -_- Hopefully no one will receive her damaged. My question is, do they have to sign off on the damage for it to be valid? They like to deliver to my place at stupid o'clock in the morning..

 

I hope it's not mandatory, but am just worried that Pathos Tale won't replace damaged parts unless the damage has been verified by the courier (their e-mail specifies to unpack in the presence of the courier to check for damage and send photos within a week) - taking photos within one week I have no issue with...

No remote location fee for me, but am sure I'm going to get charged a ton by UK customs, lol! I hope no-one receives her damaged as well. Am concerned about the same thing, as really don't want to have to unpack her with the courier around to get any damage verified!

 

Thought I would stuff it in, as I'm guessing that you guys are getting shipped by DHL too, there's a problem with their tracking causing updates to be delayed by 4-6 days.

Ugh, I knew there was a reason I got a bad feeling when I saw the shipping was via DHL. My tracking updated to with delivery courier today, and so I've been stuck home waiting, but it says its being delivered to the airport in my country's capital, which is certainly not where I live....

 

Hm, sorry you guys are having issues with DHL. It's the first time I've had something delivered by them, so didn't know what to expect. I've paid customs fees today and apparently my MiSheng is at a processing centre in Birmingham ready to make her way to me (have selected next Weds for delivery and booked the day off work), so fingers crossed they come through :S.

 

She's HERE! Oh my goodness she is an absolute work of art, no damage, her antlers came securely packaged, and she has her own little sleeping bag, kinda like Soom dolls have

@Vanytie thank you the light isnt optimal due to the fact that the sun won't come back until next year here, but I'll try to get more soon.
I'm not 100% decided on her look, I bought the wig in the picture especially for her, but its way too big and looks kinda silly, so I may have to change some things. My fiance has really taken to her though, he wants to put LED's in her head and started going through pinterest to find forest creature inspiration

Still no update on mine at all, nothing since the first. In all honesty, I've found DHL to be pretty dodgy so far.

 

My shipping finally updated. . It only just got picked up yesterday (7th for me), so it was just sitting there randomly for a week. ETA is next Thursday, so should have pictures then

 

I hope those still waiting gets their Misheng fast, I can tell you it's really worth the wait though
posting a picture here just for the sake of it, Rathnait in an Iplehouse dress looking much better than anticipated, and Pine in the background looking sulky because she's not the centre of attention xD I've been fussing with her wig a bit and it looks better now than in this picture, so I think I'll keep it for now. I always did plan for her to look rather different or odd in the first place.

I had never heard about this doll company before but she is GORGEOUS !!! she looks lovely in that dress too

 

I've been away from BJDs for a few months but came back swiftly when my Misheng arrived safely on Friday! There was no damage and she was beautifully wrapped. I love her! My fingers are crossed that every else's MiSheng arrives safely as well.

 

@Rivon Rathnait is so lovely - think the wig suits her, in its own quirky way!

My MiSheng (Doris) should be arriving tomorrow, so will post pics of the box opening (a.k.a my first BJD box opening ever). My SOOM Amber head will also be arriving tomorrow, so will be a good day for me!

I discovered that I can't find a single seam line on Nait, she's so smooth its kinda surprising actually, almost reminds me of porcelain.

 

Mine arrived this morning It surprised me how hefty she is compared to my other 60cm girl. I didn't realize before now that she has little teeth

 

Congrats! Antlers all ok? Seems Pathos Tale have done a really good job packing her . Mine is on her way to me with the courier right now!

 

Forgot to post! My Misheng came in around a week ago, and I absolutely adore her!

The antlers actually came with the magnets glued in backwards, but with some work I was able to fix that.

I'll totally post a picture soon!

 

Yup, they were very well padded and hidden in there. She's actually going with me to our last local doll meet of the year in 2 days, so we'll see how she goes transport wise xD

Also - I have no basis for comparison, as she's my first BJD but a) she seems to pose pretty well straight out of the box. but b) she seems to be strung pretty tightly? Will she be ok if left strung like this?

 

@Vanytie yeah I noticed she is a little bit creaky, usually when a doll is new it just needs some time before the stringing gets a little more loose, basically just play around and pose her and stuff and eventually she'll feel less tightly strung

 

Really? I didn't find mine tightly strung at all. It was perfect. She is creaky, but I've never had a new doll that wasn't.
Turns out that if you mummy the arms, and be careful of the antlers she transports really well despite the bulk.

 

Ok great - was just worried about damaging her, as don't really know what I'm doing yet!

Pleased she transports well. And she may not be the definition of tightly strung. I'm not sure - I'd never seen a BJD before my MiSheng. Mine's definitely not loosely strung, through - wanted to make sure I wasn't going to damage her. Seems like the stringing might be perfect!

 

@Vanytie yeah she doesn't appear to be too tightly strung to me, but with the new doll creakyness it may feel like it BJD's can handle quite a lot, so you shouldn't be too concered about damaging her.

 

*cries* I was aware of Misheng's release, but I didn't have any extra income during that time and I completely regret not getting her... I love the bodies of PathosTale sculpts. Especially Pan's! Even though Pan can't stand for long by herself, Pan is still majestic... Oh dear, I really want Pan. But seeing everyone's posts and photos of Pan and Misheng is awesome!!

I've a question for you, am I the only one who has issues with putting a wig on her?

I've about four boxes full of wigs, around 50 different ones and none of them can be put on this head with the horns on.
Any tips?

 

I've definitely had the same issue, so I'm going to try to make a custom wig for her!

If you're not wanting to make something entirely new though, I'd say edit a wig you already have to give it holes/enough room for the antlers

 

Hmmm.. My guess would be find one that you can sit further back using tape or something to keep it on, then drape the hair around the horns as needed.

 

Aaah, good to know that I'm not the only one x°D. I would probably try to do something custom for her, thank you!

I did something like that at first, trying to wrap the hair around the horns, but the result wasn't so good ^^;;

 

I sympathize with you guys! I still haven't quite worked up the courage to chop into Balqis' wig yet...so she's remained without her glorious horns for the time being.

She did get some new eyes in the mail today though!

 

I've painted my girl and I've given her some new teeth, 'cause her weren't teeth enough, you know... They're not permanent, I can take them off and put them back on whenever I want.
I've also sculpted a little tongue for her, but I still have to paint it ^^;

Wow, she's great - love the direction you've taken her in; it's very different. The delicate lower lashes you've painted are incredible. Hope I can do something half as nice when I come to painting my girl!

As for me, I'm not particularly thrilled to have to make her a custom wig since I'm just a beginner and they take ages to be done ;;;.
Also I've my commissions to finish before I'll be able to touch her again, sigh, I'm super sad ;;;

However she's going to wear a hanbok, because it's about a couple of years that I'm obsessed with them and I still haven't made one of those so far, but I've no idea about her eyes. I'm probably going to see if kanis augen has something suitable for her.
What about you?
