Paging Vanillashine

Dec 10, 2006

    1. Thanks so much Andi! :) We'd be lost without you.

    2. Thank you so much Andi! I have no idea what we would have done if not for you.

    3. Thanks Andi! I don't know if it is possible to check anything on those numbers, as they are for delivery confirmation. I believe they only show information once the item has been delivered. They are not tracking numbers, per se. But I will keep my fingers crossed that my Yan does show up. We'll see. Since Bev is only a little over an hour from me, the package should not take long. The auction had stated Priority Mail delivery and that is what I paid for, but it doesn't look like Bev sent her that way (otherwise, she would have posted a Priority Mail number).

Nonetheless, I will be thrilled if Yan does arrive here. I had given up all hope of seeing her, and just expected to recieve a refund via Paypal. I will leave my claim open till I have Yan in my hands. Paypal had said if Bev did not respond by Jan. 5th, they would refund my money. I'll post a note there that Yan is supposedly on her way. I hope it is true this time.

    4. I definitely suggest that everyone with an open claim *keep* it open until their dolls/parts are in their hands.

Then, of course, please close it (unless you're one of the people who will be receiving a refund, it's fine to keep the claim open until you receive your money order) . . . from what Bev said, her PayPal account was locked due to all the claims, which is why she'll be issuing refunds via money order.

I hope your Yan gets home soon, Vicki!

    5. Andi, you are marvellous!! :cheer Thank you so much for the hard work!

    6. Ashbet, did she send them out priority?

    7. Thank you so much for all your work and time

I really hope Bev can work through the things that have been an issue for her in 2006 and make 2007 a better year.

    8. **hugs** Thanks, guys :)

I'll pass on the good wishes to Bev if I talk to her . . .

And I'm sorry, I don't know whether Bev sent them Priority -- all the info I have is right above there.

      Thanks,

      -- A <3

    9. I just called the US Post Office. Mine is confirmed as Priority Mail.

    10. www.usps.com does show that my package was accepted at 12:21 PM on Jan. 3 in Cleveland. I checked my Paypal claim to see if Bev had responded to them, but she hasn't. I wanted to post a note that my doll was shipped, but there does not seem to be any way for me to post anything on my claim now. Also, when I try clicking on "contact us", it just runs me around in circles and there is no way to contact Paypal that I can find. The email they sent me when I escalated to a claim, said not to respond to not to reply to it as that mailbox was not monitored and I would not recieve a response. It would be nice if Paypal had left me a way to contact them about this claim.

Hopefully Yan will arrive tomorrow safely and then I can cancel my Paypal claim.

    11. I'd suggest just canceling the claim when Yan arrives, rather than trying to update PP on the situation . . . they're very hard to communicate with.

      -- A <3

    12. I will cancel the claim the moment Yan arrives and I have checked her out. I'll post here also, once I have Yan. Thanks again Andi!

    13. well...I would have never believed it! My Supia Yan has arrived, and she is beautiful. I have to thank Andi for all your help in this difficult situation. I have canceled my claim through paypal in the nick of time too.
I think I will name my girl Static for all the static raised in her honor...lol.

    14. YAYYYYYY!!!! I'm so glad she arrived!! :D

You will have to post pics, I'd love to see her!

      **hugs**

      -- A <3

    15. Congrats! was she priority? the mailman just came and no Athena, i was all, are you sure there's nothing for me? ><

    16. My mail girl just called to tell me that my package was here. I won't know more until I get the chance to pick it up at 5:30ish.

    17. yours already got there? but, i'm closer, i'm freaking out right now. ><

    18. Mine stops at a hub instead of being delivered to my door. That may make a difference.

    19. oh, i keep checking the number and it doesn't change, if she's not here by tomorrow, paypal is going to give me my money back sunday, so i don't know what to do, i'm so anxious, worse than waiting for a new doll to come! Please tell us when you get your heads back though, to make sure everything is ok. ^^

    20. Here is Meimi, my DDOP-01:

My Gretel will need some TLC... her eyelashes are a lost cause, but other than that, they are here safely!

(Off to cancel Paypal and advise IC3.)

    21. Well, while I was out today--Yan did arrive AND Paypal did settle my case in my favor and refund me. So I called Paypal and asked them what I do now, since I have the doll (finally) and also have my money refunded. He said I would just Paypal her again, but I told him I thought her account was suspended due to this mess. So he checked and her account is suspended, therefore it is not possible to Paypal her the money at this time. If the other disputes/claims get cleared up, then her account will be reopened and I can then send her the money for Yan.

I don't know why it bothers me so much that I have Yan & my money, since she had both for 30 days, but it does. Hopefully the other items will arrive and the rest of the claims/disputes can be cancelled. Maybe now that she is out the money, she will actually contact me? Who knows. It would have been nice if she had contacted Paypal when she mailed the items out and shared that info with them. Had she done that and given them the tracking numbers, they would have waited to settle the claim.

She's beautiful and I love. It was definitely worth it all.

    22. She didn't worry about how fast you received your doll I wouldn't worry how fast she gets her money. I am sorry I am sour grapes, but whenever her account isn't suspended she will get paid. It will all work out.

    23. My two heads came back today faceless. I will leave my claim open till I get my money back b/c I am out 200 dollars right now

    24. how come everyone is getting their heads back? i want to cry! >< 200 dollars? for two heads? jesus, that's alot of money! Better get your money back! ^^

    25. Just checked the mail a little while ago and I got Hewitt in the mail! So, Annika, you can relax, and Andi, your MNF Shiwoo came in the box as well, safe and sound. I'm so so relieved!

    26. :fangirl:

      -- A :D

    27. Athena's home! ^^ Her faceup is perfect, but the pedicure is messed up in some places, and the paint on one of her thumbs is coming off slightly. But otherwise, she is ok, and i have canceled my claim on bev.

    28. Hizaki is back. No faceup though so I won't cancel my dispute until I get my refund.

    29. Whew, I got Roxanne back! :arainclou

      I'll update when/if I get my refund.

    30. I have not received my refund.

I had left my PayPal dispute open and I heard from them today. They sided with me, but were unable to retrieve any funds.

How is everybody else doing that is owed a refund? Any luck?

    31. i'm so sorry you haven't gotten your refund nikittin! I hope you get it soon! ^^

    32. I still have not received my refund either. -_-

    33. I have not gotten a refund yet either.

    34. No refund yet, and I'm still waiting for Kitsuko's *head* . . . evidently the package got returned due to a problem with the zip code. Will report back when she arrives :/

      -- A <3

    35. If I can make an unsolicited suggestion:

Since vicki_j got both her Yan and a refund, maybe she could give refunds, or partial refunds, to the folks who didn't get one? Only as far as her refund money goes, of course, not out of her own pocket. Because I'd be willing to bet that Vanillashine doesn't have any more money in her paypal account (or otherwise) to give refunds.

Please note, I'm not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV. And for all I know, paypal may suddenly demand that vicki_j return her refund; I don't know how their disputes work in a case like that. But I thought this might be something worth discussing.

    36. I had thought about this also. But I actually owe that money to Bev and unless I hear from her as to what to do, I don't think this would be wise. If Bev would contact me and let me know how I can repay her for Yan, then she could use that money to repay her customers that she didn't complete the faceups on. But if I were to repay the customers and then hear from Bev that I owed her for Yan (which I do), I would be in a pickle. I did email Bev about repaying her, but of course I have not had any response from her. I just don't understand her at all.

    37. Alrighty, I just called Paypal again asked if there was not a way for me to refund Bev so they could then refunded the people that have claims against her. I explained that I was refunded my $360 and then received the doll from Bev. I told them I had received no responses from her as to how to repay her, and could not do a Paypal payment to her as her account is limited due to all the claims against her.

I was put on hold while he checked with his supervisors. Then I was told I could transfer funds from my bank account into my Paypal account. Once that cleared (probably on Monday or Tuesday, he said), I am to email them about this situation and they will take that money and repay Beverly. I am assuming that then Paypal will use those funds to repay the people that have claims against her. Fingers crossed and hoping this works. I don't know how many people she owes or what the total is, but hopefully my $360 will benefit many of you who have claims filed.

    38. Hmmm, I have been thinking more on this mess. I paid for my Yan back on Dec. 5th. Had to file a Paypal claim which was decided in my favor on Jan. 5. I was reimbursed by Paypal, and later that same day Yan arrived.

I am assuming when Paypal reimbursed me, that money actually came from Paypal and not Bev's account. So when I repay this money next week--will it actually belong to Paypal and not Bev? If so, then I don't think it will help settle the other claims against her.

I don't know if I am thinking correctly on this or not. At least I tried, and I will have paid for my doll once Paypal deals with this matter next week.

    39. Afaik - refunds on paypal are taken directly from the account. people have been burned this way in the past - someone hacks an account, scams with it, then cleans it out before any of the refunds process. Thus when paypal goes to get the money, it's not there - and the victims are sometimes SOL.

    40. Vicki, the funds were taken from Bev's PayPal account -- if there are no funds available, PayPal just tells the customers entitled refunds that there are no funds available (and, yeah, that you're SOL -- same thing happened to me, I'm owed a refund as well . . . AND Kitsuko's head is still missing *sigh*)

Honestly, if you thought you'd be up for it, sending out refunds directly from the money that you were paid, rather than giving it back to PP (who might or might not refund everyone), it would be a great kindness . . . but I do understand that you wouldn't want to expose yourself to liability, it's an inconvenience and you'd be faced with the choice of who to refund and how much.

I'm not pushing one way or the other, but there is a possibility that refunding the money to PP would give it back to Bev rather than to her customers, I'm afraid :/

      Thanks much,

      -- A <3

    41. Actually, I believe when I give the money back to Paypal (as it is not mine to keep since I received Yan)--it will be Paypal's money as I suspect the money THEY refunded me came directly from Paypal and not Bev. I doubt Bev had money in her account. The Ebay auction I bought Yan from was guaranteed by the Paypal Buyers' Protection Plan. So they had to refund me whether Bev had money or not.

It would be nice if I could use that money to refund people, but that would put me on the spot as I owe that money back to Bev (or Paypal) for Yan. If I were to use that money to reimburse others, it would not remove the responsibility that I owe Bev for Yan. Then I would be the one who could be facing charges of not paying for an item received. I'm sorry, but I don't see how I can reimburse people and not get in trouble. I spoke with Paypal and am going to do what they instructed me to do. If they did get the $360 that they paid me from Bev (and not use their own money), then the $360 that I repay should be able to be used to repay others. If that $360 came directly from Paypal and NOT Bev, then it is Paypal's money and won't help others to recover their funds.

    42. It's unfortunate that PP probably isn't going to pay that money out to the people who are owed :(

But that's not at all your problem, and I totally understand where you're coming from. It was very honest of you to come forward and admit that you got both your doll and your refund, some people wouldn't have.

I'm so glad your little Yan is home with you!

      -- A <3

    43. Thank you for thinking of us, Vicki. It is not your responsiblity that the refunds be given out - it's entirey in vanillashine's hands. I hope she will do the right thing.

    44. I'm still fairly new to DoA, and I am still learning my way around all the various areas. Imagine my amazement when I discovered this thread only last night! I am the Siandra K. on Vanillashine's list to finally have my eyecandies shipped. Since I had bought from her on eBay under the name vanillaserious, I didn't even realize she was the same Vanillashine on DoA. Now that I know and have read this entire thread, I thought I should tell my story here too since I was involved in what happened. I bought a pair of eyecandies on eBay from her on Dec. 5th. There was a problem right off the bat because when I used the Pay Now feature on eBay, it sent me to the wrong email address for her (this turns out to be the one she said she was spammed on.) I contacted her at her new (unspammed) email address and worked out with her that I would then cancel my payment to her old email and send it to her new email. I had to wait a few days while Paypal sorted out the mess and everything cleared through their system before I could send the money to her new address. Interestingly enough, I had absolutely no problem whatsoever reaching Bev for the days that this payment was in flux. She would quickly and efficiently email a response to each of my (daily and sometimes multi-daily) emails to her (and keep in mind that this was from Dec. 5th thru the 9th, when she wasn't corresponding with others she owed items to because of her supposed "email/computer problems".) She was very friendly and helpful and quick to respond to my emails. That is UNTIL my payment to her was completed. From that instant on, not one single word or response to any of the emails I (or Paypal) sent to her. I guess what I am trying to say in all this is that her email problems, personal problems, etc. certainly didn't stop her from staying in close and constant contact as long as there was money to be had, but the moment she had it, all communication from her suddenly stopped cold. Finally, I was forced to file a report with Paypal and leave negative feedback on eBay. I expected it was all just a lost cause, so imagine my amazement when the eyecandies suddenly showed up in my mailbox over a month later! Of course they were sent regular mail (rather than the priority mail I paid for.) But at least I now had them! I honestly thought it was a miracle! Now I read here that it is all thanks to the hard efforts of the good people on this thread. So I owe you all a big debt of gratitude for my lowly little set of eyes that I will cherish all the more because of it. I feel so badly for all of you who have gone through so much with your far more valuable items. I was upset, but it must have been so much worse for you who had sent your beloved doll heads or paid for dolls for Christmas!!! I can't even imagine how your emotions were devastated on this insane roller-coaster ride of events. I know that everyone here is so loving and forgiving (a trait often found in doll lovers, after all.) But I just wanted everyone to know not to be too quick to forgive and forget. She had no problem whatsoever staying in touch just as long as she had money coming, and it was only the threat of potential police action that finally got her to part with our stuff. Some people here are still owed money and property (lets hope this can be rectified soon!) My heart goes out to each and every one of you and, I'm sorry, not to her. I can't help but believe that her actions were not angst-ridden, computer-glitched, innocent foibles. It's just my opinion, but I believe she just thought she could get away with it. Pure and simple. Unfortunately for her, you all banded together and spoke with a single voice, bringing about some justice to the world. And for that, dear friends, I applaud you all!

    45. oh, believe me, I'm not that easy to forgive and forget. there's no way i would commission her again, and this experience has left has left a sour taste in my mouth unfortunately.

    46. I'm so sorry about your experience. . . this whole thing has been a nightmare.

And I *still* don't have Kitsuko's head back, and she was supposedly mailed on Jan. 3 and returned to Bev because of a bad zipcode . . . I've been waiting for her to be re-mailed, but at this point, I have no idea where she is, or even if *Bev* knows where she is -- the first tracking numbers she gave me didn't work.

      -- A :(

    47. Um, I hate to alarm you, but a bad zip code will not cause a package to be returned to the sender if the rest of the address is correct. It will cause a delay, usually 1-3 days, because the package will be sent to that zip-code's distribution center first. But once it hits there, it'll be redirected to the proper zip code based on the rest of the address.
I think she's lying to you again.

    48. *sigh* I . . . yeah, I'm aware of that -- let's just say that I was very skeptical about the returned-package story. I don't know what to think at this point, I just hope she makes it home safely :/

      -- A :(

    49. oh man, ashbet, I'm so sorry! i really hope your doll head comes home to you soon! That's just unacceptable, since your close with bev, very unprofessional and just plain tacky.

    50. Actually, three times I've had packages return to me because I'd written the zip code incorrectly. However if the package is sent via EMS or priority, the post office will try harder to find the right address before doing a RTS.

I'm just here hoping that really was the case for you Andi, and that you get your package soon. :\ *hugs*

    51. This is really unfair that the person responsible for so many heads being returned is being slighted this way.

Money is one thing (as far as refunds owed), but a doll is an entirely different thing.

I really hope your girl comes back soon, Andi. It's a frustrating, heartbreaking situation :(

    52. Nothing yet ashbet? this is so sad and unjust.

    53. No . . . nothing yet.

I'm going to have to file a police report, I think . . . *sigh*

Thanks for your support, guys . . .

      -- A :(

    54. Oh gee, hun.

      *hugs*

If I were closer to Bev, I'd go pay a visit. I'm getting good at it.

    55. what, are you serious!? This is just tacky and rude of her to do this to you. please file a report, so you can get your doll back.

    56. The initial stage of the report has been filed . . . I have to go to the jail (!) to file a report with the county clerk (an officer came to my house and took the basics down and gave me a case #.)

I am trying to file on behalf of everyone still owned a refund (Nikittin, Zalem, and Cachick), because that puts the amount over $500, but I'll have to see when I get to the county clerk (the officer said that everyone would probably have to file individually in their own states.)

I did put in another call to Bev's mom letting her know the situation, and giving her one last chance for amnesty if she'd return my head (or give me the damn postal information so that I can file an insurance claim) and give everyone their refunds.

We shall see . . . will keep you guys posted.

      -- A :(

    57. Good luck Ashbet. Hopefully you won't have to go that final step, but at this point it may be your only choice. My husband does a lot of shipping for his company and he also said that so long as the rest of the address was correct, an incorrect zipcode would have only slowed down delivery of the package, not returned it to sender.

    58. I hope the fact that there aren't any recent posts means your lovelies were returned to you :)

    59. The lovely Ashbet is still waiting for her head and some of us are still owed refunds.

    60. I just received my head back today . . . unfortunately, Bev did such a shoddy job that she will have to be repainted. Honestly, I just want to cry :...(

I will still be vigorously pursuing refunds for everyone owed them (myself included), and will keep you guys posted when there's something to add.
