I have an Il boy, who was a vampire but last owner started to mod off his fangs and never finished. I don't have the heart to finish the mod, or give him back his fangs, though I might later on. He will never have a faceup. He's one of those rare dolls I think looks just as great without one. And he is a spirit, and a character that is almost never seen in photos at all, especially never his face, so blank he will stay.

But he needs love too, ghost/spirit or not! He can't decide if his name is Izumi or Ichiru. He switches between them randomly. xD


He...doesn't really have clothes either. I haven't been able to find any I like for him, so he just borrows stuff from my MSD's sometimes. Like an oversized shirt. :P

 

My boy too has only one pair of Tonner's Matt jeans, it was broad in the waist and too short, so I changed: made new seam in the groin higher than it was before. Now landing jeans became lower (very sexy!) and length is to feet.

I'm just curious, does anyone else have issues with posing/standing? I've re-strung Tyh (Tae Vampire) 3 times, hot glue sueded all his joints and wired his legs and arms (I also added S hooks in his feet). He's still a pain to get to just stand without his knees collapsing.

 

@ Nancy: yes that's true. Totally slimmer and smaller, but in proportion

@Iron: I don't have any problems with getting him to stand up (whilst wearing shoes). But that's like pretty much the only standing pose he can do He has been restrung like 2 years ago and had a minor hot-glue treatment then. His legs are quite wobbly now actually, but sometimes I think that's an (posing) advantage.

 

Yes, there are problems with joints in the knees. Very rigid string can help. I would recommend from Dollzone for 1/4 dolls.
No problem with standing:

 

I've got him strung pretty tight right now (and wired) and his knees still tend to buckle. *sigh* I've gotten frustrated enough to actually consider re-shelling his character in a less troublesome doll. But I just can't do it as the Tae is absolutely perfect for Tyhlian.

 

As a shame. Another body, perhaps? But all other doll bodies of this size are more. Or less.

 

because of the smaller than average head size of the ODs, finding him another body without having to do a lot of mods would be a challenge to say the least.

I actually have an SD Jeidoll and the resin, while gorgeous, has the luminocity of French resin and would absolutely not match. The skin tone is also not a match. I also have a Lume (30cm) and their skintones are waaaaay off, but since I bought both through the MP, I can't say for certain if Gunari (Lume) is NP or NY (although he appears more pinky when next to Tyh). I don't think you can buy just the body from Lume either.

I hadn't heard of the Miro doll. If the head/neck works together, that might certainly be an option. Thanks!

 

Do we know of any true matches for either Normal skin or White Skin? As much as I love Il and Tae's sculpt, I just feel like posing would be a little lacking, or is it easy to overcome the single jointing? I'm very tempted to get one!!

 

PamSD put her Tae head on a Fairyland body and it looks quite good. I can't remember if she used Chicline or Minifee. If I can find a link, I'll edit this post.

Chicline is unfortunately waaaaay too buff for the character I'm looking for.

 

so im having issues trying to find the measurements for this doll. she looks like an msd but im not sure. her head size is 5.5 inches. my sister is interested in her but in order for her to get the right size clothes she needs measurements. so idk if she's a mini or an msd or what!!?? does anyone own this doll and have the measurments? apparently leekeworld hates putting on doll measurements for these. any help would be appreciated!

Does anyone have all three Chicline, Orientdoll, and Mirodoll? I would like to see them nude side by side: front, back, 3/4 and side view. + Whole body pictures of each with Tae head.

I am wondering if Mirodoll would be the right fit for my character (since chicline will be cut by October.) I can't~ Although the price points to Miro, I am a bit bothered by the jointing and the thinner neck among other things. It would have been really nice if Miro had double-jointed knees. Also~ It would be odd to have a doppelganger who doesn't share the same bone structure and height. Just by looking at the company measurements, Mirodoll seems smaller/slimmer even though he's the one with bigger muscles.

~I'm a bit picky~ If things don't work out, I'll depend on visual illusion when taking pictures and when dressing them up. TuT'

 

I only have two, and I think I've posted comparison between the chicline, orientdoll and dollmore 16" FMD before xD

Anyway, the dolls generally can fit SLIM MSD sized clothes (i.e. Unoa, Minifee and Narae clothes), but the collar usually looks oversized.

 

I'm not actually going to buy clothes for them. ahehe I'm going to make costumes.

Just found this thread and post! I've got all 3 and I'll try to get piccies for you some time this week. I'm currently using my Mirodoll body to shell a CLine Breakaway LTF head, though it was originally bought to shell my Anubis sculpt. Miro DOES get the price points, and posing isn't horrid, especially compared to my Gentle Body Tae, but it is totally inferior to the CLine posing. Here's my CLine and Mirodoll set:

dhawktx: What's the resin match like between your Tae and the Miro? And what skin tones are involved? That Miro body is fantastic looking. Is there a lot of difference between it and the OD one with regards to height and general size (because I'd hate to have to re-make an entire wardrobe *sigh*)?

Tyhlian (Tae Vampire) is probably the normal skin but I'm not 100% sure as I'm his 3rd or 4th owner and the previous owner didn't know. His body drives me freaking bonkers (although I love the aesthetic of it) as he's got the Collapsing Legs of Doom(tm). I've re-strung him several times, hot glue sueded his joints AND wired his arms and legs and he's still finicky on standing. I've been toying with the idea of getting him another body but I'm picky on resin matching and the clothes his character wears leaves him mostly bare-chested 100% of the time thus harder to hide a bad match.

 

Iron_Dog: Mine are both Normal Skin and without blushing there's no match at all. My Orientdoll bodies are both more than a few years old and have yellowed noticeably. The brand new Mirodoll is VERY pink - I have no idea how much it may yellow in the future, or how much the pink may fade. I intend to strip the faceup from the Tae head and use Cymorill's Dezombification Serum to pink it up a bit. I've already blushed the body more to Fairyland's Apricot-ish NS so they should meet somewhere in the middle. I've taken shots and added them to my Mirodoll set:

Size-wize: the Mirodoll body has shorter legs than the Orientdoll, but the arms are the same length. The feet and hands are WAY bigger than Orientdoll and a bit clumsy looking - the Mirodoll MSD body is intended to be a buff Adolescent, so that makes sense, but you will have to be taking up pants legs if you switch bodies. Otherwise, the only other REALLY noticeable thing is that the Mirodoll neck is longer.

Posing: Clunky as the joints are, the Mirodoll poses better, hands down, as you can see from the set above. I had difficulty getting my Orientdoll's ankles to lean back far enough to stand it up for any length of time at all - and it quickly fell forward. The Mirodoll stood rock solid. The upper torso joint is OK but not great - I added a back notch to help with slouching, which he does well now. The lower torso joint pops out of place easily as there is no central pelvis column at all to stop it. Mirodoll ships their dolls loosely strung.

dhawktx: Thank you so much for the shots and being so prompt to reply.

*sigh* It looks like I'm stuck with the OD body then. I have no idea how old my Tae is and I've no OD in-house or in my local group to compare him to. I do have a Leeke doll, but he's rose skin and like 6 months old so no help there with judging yellowing. I think my Tae is also on the muscle body as he has a hip joint where your guy is all one piece.

I'd be hesitant to do the blush to match thing as he has a gorgeous face-up from Angel Toast that is pristine and blushing a body to match a head... I'd rather not. And the style of clothes wouldn't allow me to easily take up the pants and it'd probably be easier to just make new outfits *sigh*.

 

Sorry for the bad news Iron_Dog! Since I'm wiping mine it's all good. I'd gotten them in the first place to have additional body types in my primarily Chicline crew, but I can see that I'm going to have to do a LOT more than just put in a torso joint to be happy with these guys. The cranky ankles are a BIG negative that I'll have to figure out the mod for.

 

Eh, that's doll life, right? Sometimes disappointing, sometimes frustrating but heavily addicting that always leaves us looking for our next fix.

The hybrids in my house are few and far between. I have DZ armour hands on my Leeke Khal Vampire and Soom Alk legs modded to fit my Lume Koit annnnd that's it. I am saving for a DZ Edward that will have an RD mecha arm, but again, that's pretty mild as far as hybriding goes. I think my pickiness over resin matching makes me that way.

This, BTW, is Tyhlian, my Tae Vampire. God I love that face sculpt.

 

I'm beginning to wonder if my two older ODs are NS or WS. That earlier picture was someone else's TAE Vampire and I'd swear that was a pretty good match at the time. Either that or their NS fades REALLY badly.

Iron_Dog: I've got a spare set of Mirodoll hands and feet. Want me to mail one to you for comparison (so long as you mail it back, LOL!)

Nope, he's a Tae. I had Angel Toast add them on for me as all my Awh'anise characters (at least all the 100% Awh'anise) have visible fangs. The Tae ears and Il ears are slightly different in design (Tae's are pointier) and he's got Tae ears (which are adorable).

I'm seriously tempted to say yes (and a big old thank you for offering) but I'm trying very hard to save for my next doll and once shipping and the dreaded Customs fees *shudders* are added to the doll and arm... I'm looking at pretty much $800CAN and I still need to get a face up for my newest doll, Sleet (Soom Auber Storm Sprite). Single income means dolly funding happens sloooooooowly. Additional temptation/confirmation when I have doll money in hand... I'm sure I don't have to tell you how dangerous that is *laughs*.

 

I have FIVE CLines on layaway with DDE. Nope, you're preaching to the choir!

If you ever want to follow up on that offer, let me know. I bought the hands to play with boiling and repositioning - that way I'd still have a 'good' doll body even if I F*ed them up!

Thank you for the offer. I will keep it in mind should I ever reach the screaming frustration point. Right now, it's more of a... mutter darkly to myself thing when I want to pose him. Fortunately, I can lean/support him on his partner, Dakvir (Doll-Love), who stands like a rock.

This be them and I think I did rely on Dak to keep Tyh standing in this pic. Some days he stands well and others... preaching to the choir again I assume.

 

That's funny Iron_Dog! In the Cline thread all the pics of an Orientdoll had the same thing... Clines supporting the OD.

I just tightened the Mirodoll body... a bit too much to get the Tae head back on. THEN I noticed I had the feet on backwards and their S hooks are NOT the easiest to get the elastic over.

I just stepped awaaaaay from the dollieh and got a glass of wine. He'll still be there tomorrow.

I really do like the looks of the CLine but then I run smack into that whole money thing again *sigh*. There have been a few times where I wonder if I should re-shell Tyh into a less troublesome sculpt (he'd go into a Doll Leaves W), but I just can't bring myself to do it. The second I saw the Tae Vampire, I knew that was Tyh and I'd sighed regretfully at the time since he's been sold out since forever on the site. But the MP is a wondrous (dangerous?) place and I put up with the wonky kneed body because I love the sculpt and haven't found another body I'd be happy with/have the funds for.

Poking a quiet thread with a little spam. This is Tyhlian (Tae Vampire)

 

Bumping a really old thread- Leekeworld is taking preorders for Orientdolls til Nov28th! If you were kicking yourself for missing out before they were discontinued, now is your chance to grab one.

 

I've just ordered an Il vampire, blank, in snow skin. He's going to be partner to Shae-Lin (DearMine Oskar) and his name is Zehuti-sen. I think I'm a little crazy to order him when Tyh's (Tae vampire) knees drive me so freaking crazy with their Collapse O-matic feature *grumbles*, but I stood Tyh next to Shae-Lin and they look awesome together so I'm going to overlook the Knees O'doom (tm). Besides, Shae-Lin stands like a rock so Zehuti-sen can just lean on him for support much like Tyh does with his partner, Dak.

Zehuti-sen also has a 3rd eye so I'm going to get the head modded to have one. I'm pretty excited to get this doll and get him modded. And because I already have an OD in-house, I don't need to drive myself crazy making yet another batch of entirely new patterns from scratch to fit the odd sized dolls I keep bring home.

 

Guys, Leeke just sent me an email that they've shipped my Il! Holy moly that was fast. My Xmas doll could very well be an actual Xmas doll (depending on how long Customs holds him hostage *gives Customs evil-eye*). I haven't even purchased his eyes or wig yet as I thought I wouldn't be seeing him until early February at the soonest and had lots of time to do that. I want to get him a Monique wig (Jade in the Panda style: http://store.monique.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=monique&Screen=PROD&Product_Code=MT415) and I was thinking the 5/6 size. If anybody could let me know if that is the size to get and how you've found the fit to be, that would be awesome. I've never bought a Monique wig so I've no idea of the fit (loose/tight/stretchy/etc.) and I'd like to get it right the first time.

Tyh (my OD Tae) has a custom wig by Tinybear and I didn't need to do any sizing for it as she has/had an OD herself so just made it to fit her boy *grins*. In the time between Tyh getting his wig, I'd made him a temp one and I don't really know what size it is, just that it fits his tiny noggin (and is likely what Zehuti-sen will wear in the interim).

 

Sorry, how did you do it?! The dolls more than one year are "sold-out". About size: I doubt what you need, 4-5 or 5-6. Doll head size is 5.3, and the edges of the wig is well stretched. My doll has not a full Monique wig, but the pad, which rests on the drop of glue.

 

Leeke had a 1 week order period open in the last week of November and I ordered him then. The dolls have been "sold out" far longer than a year. My other OD was purchased off the MP here on DoA and I can't remember Leeke having an OD sale before and I've been in the hobby for 6 years.

As far as wigs go, he'll be wearing the whole wig. As I've never bought a Monique wig, I was hoping for some help on the general size of them. If I could make the wig myself, I'd do it, but he needs the Jade wig in the panda colour for his character. I'd be a pain in the butt to take the wig in, but I have sized down a 7/8 to a straight up 6 as well as modified the wig to fit over the huge ears of the doll as well as fully dyed said wig blue. I can alter a wig, I'd just prefer not to have to do it.

 

Leeke has had an OD sale as part of the year end events before. I ordered several at the end of 2010. They may have been available other years also. It easy to miss this event.

I also ordered and IL head in May of 2012, so watch Leeke's events!

I tried out a 4-5 Monique for you Iron_dog.
It does fit, but it's a tight fit. It falls off easily when you fiddle with the hair. But it doesn't look too bulky in my opinion. Maybe it can be fixed with something underneath, but I don't know if it will still fit then. So I'm guessing a 5-6 is a better option.

Seems like Leeke likes to sneak in the sales. And if the others were like the most recent one and only a week long, it's dead easy to miss them. I'm a little on tenter hooks as the "slip number" they included in the package shipped email doesn't work so I can't track my boy. But, given the holiday season with both Xmas and New Year and Canada Customs delight in holding packages hostage, I'd be stunned to get him before the year rolls into 2015. Hopeful that I get him in the last few days of 2014, but I'm not holding my breath.

Toxic_Nightmist: Thanks for the info. I was guessing a 5/6 was going to be the better bet but it's nice to have confirmation. I've dealt with a wig or two that tended to pop off if you looked at it sideways and that always annoyed the crap out of me and resulted in buying another wig that fit better.

 

hey guys, Zehuti-sen (my Il vampire), arrived today. Waaaaay ahead of schedule, but that's good, right? The Il sculpt in person is just lovely and I'm very pleased with his sculpt. The eyes that Leeke sent are really nice (and OMG! they're not blue!) and I might keep them as his defaults. Putting him next to Tyh was interesting. Zehuti-sen is WS and Tyh is... probably NS? Tyh is MUCH darker than Zehuti-sen (Tyh almost looks tan next to Zehuti-sen) so I'm guessing that he's mellowed quite a bit (Tyh was purchased off the MP here several years back and I'm his 4th? 5th? owner).

But....

I have a problem. While I was prepared to deal with the knees o'doom that Tyh has (and which others have said they experience with their dolls), Zehuti-sen's knees actually seem to be okay. It's his ankles/feet that are the issue. There is minimal movement in his ankle joints and his feet can't be placed at a 90 degree angle to his legs. He literally cannot stand upright. It's like he has heeled feet but instead of the heel being raised, it's the toes, so if his feet are placed flat on the floor, he leans forward at roughly an 80 degree angle.

Does anyone else have this issue and if you do/did, how did you fix it?

 

I never had a problem with the ankles on any of mine. Could they have used s-hooks that are too large when they assembled him?

 

They look to be the same size as the ones Tyh has in his feet and, collapse o-matic knees aside, he can stand perfectly upright just fine. There's almost zero movement in Zehuti-sen's ankles. I'll try and take a picture over the next couple of days to show what I mean. Even if the hooks are a tad large, there's no way for me to swap them with smaller hooks as they are embedded in the resin of his feet.

I don't know if I should message Leeke or not as there's nothing broken on him, but he most definitely cannot stand at all. He is strung fairly tight but I have others who are strung tight as well and it never affected their foot movement to the point where they couldn't stand. Although, to be fair, the doll I'm thinking of has a ball joint in his ankle where the OD boys don't.

I'm not sure if loosening his stringing in his legs would help at all. But, on the upside, it would allow me to get rid of the gigantically huge knot in his head. I can't even take his head off right now without unstringing him because of the monstrous knot.

 

This is something new. You can make a few detailed photos of the problem?
