My Tae, Daigo, with his master, a Unoa 2 Cream named Gin.

 

N-doll Miso and Miru seem to be pretty small and have pretty small heads, I think.

she is the perfect size ..(.I only with they did a boy version ..I would have the Tae head on it faster than you could say hybred )
N-doll are slightly larger

 

I just bought an Orient Doll (Tae). He's only 40 cm tall, which makes him a slightly smaller scale than the average MSD. While I intend to make quite a bit of his clothing myself, footwear is puzzling me. The company offerings are expensive and not much variety. His feet are 1 cm smaller than most other MSDs. Would it look odd and out of proportion to use standard MSD shoes?

 

It depends on what style of shoes. I prefer boots, big black kick your teeth in boots. On my boy, it looks ok for that particular style. You could try shops that sell Narin/Unoa sized clothes, they might sell smaller sized shoes. Or doll stores that sell Tonner dolls. They might have shoes for sale for their male fashion dolls. Or you could have him go barefoot, his little feet are so cute!

 

Orientdoll Dae size has 5.08cm feet. Minis like Narin and Unoa males have about 5.5cm slim feet. And they will fit in Tonner Matt shoes so Tonner Matt is probably at least 5.5cm.

I was told that Dollheart MSD shoes work well for Dae types. So i ordered a pair, and I'm hoping the information was right.

 

I'm just so frustrated by the whole waiting thing. I literally have my money in hand, ready to spend. Tae is supposed to be my next doll, but I'm not waiting indefinitely. Now I'm ogling DollMore's new Misia. Sorry OrientDoll, but she may win out...

 

The current boy body has the limitations of any one-piece torso and single-jointed limbs. My Tae and Il stand very well, and sit slightly reclined.

And they have the good points of a single torso piece, too--the sculpt has no heavy lines across it with bumps & gaps.


I quite like them as they are now, though I will be very interested to see the jointed body, too.

Talis--PM me if you like, and we can see if our schedules overlap this weekend, and I'll let you fondle the OD boys. {wow, even in this forum, that sounds wrong. }

Im watching the new Dollmore doll ..there is supposed to be a 41cm boy
...the head is similar in size to the Oreintdoll ...and the body slender
if the resin matchs ....well Im also sorry Orientdoll ...I will buy the body from there

 

I saw the dollmore models too, and I would be really interested in how they match up size-wise with the OrientDolls!

 

What size is the OD Tae? Do they match well with a Unoa/Narae, or are they a better match Soom Mini Gem, or are they more Tonner doll sized? I heard they fit the Matt Tonner clothing? Anyone know?

 

The OD Dae size doesn't work very well with the 43cm crowd, as they are slightly shorter and have much much smaller heads; they take 5.5 size wigs, versus 6/7 or 7/8 heads for the common sizes of 43cm tall bjds.

The Tonner clothing is a bit too wide through the waist and hips for trousers, and rather too tall through the armholes for shirts and coats, but will at least clothe Tae & Il.

but just didnt like the torso in one peice

I wish he was a smidgen taller, but I've also had my eye on another BJD (that is banned on DoA ) that would be the perfect height for him. I like my dollies to be paired off...it's the romantic in me!!

Okay, so I've adored Tae for ages. And I also love the Minifee Carl.
BUT, I know how small Tae is, and I'm not sure how they would look together.
Its okay if Tae is a bit too short, but........
Is he proportioned wrong to be dating the minifee? I don't want them to look weird.
If so, what would be more appropriate?
Please help

There are problems proportionately between the heads of the two dolls, but if you really love the sculpt enough you can make it work. Me and my roomates give Tae a poofier wig and our mini fee el a longer one (to decrease the look of his head) The link in my sig has tons of our photostories staring Quaid(my tae) and Xavier (my roomates mnf el)
It got to the point where we stopped noticing the differences, and sort of built his character around the fact that he was smaller.

 

You could try MiniFee or Unoa sized clothes since they are slimmer in size then normal sized MSDs. Denver Doll has clothes for the Dae boys but they are vampire themed. It is a very difficult sized doll to find clothes for, unfortunately.

 

do you you know the measurements for MiniFee or Unoa clothes? I can take them in if they're a bit too big

I just bought a Tae vampire in white skin. He's the worse poser I've ever encountered! LOL! Even with his legs wired it's a challenge to get him to stand. Boots seem to help.

I'm having a problem with eyes and I'd appreciate any advise anyone can give me. I bought a pair of 8mm round acrylic eyes, which is the size he supposedly wears. There are gaps in the corners of his eyes. I tried a pair of 10mm and they fit better, but the iris are too big. I've been trying to find a pair of soft glass (silicone) eyes but I can't find any that small. It seems like 11mm is the smallest that they come in. I thinking of trying a pair of 8mm acrylic oval eyes thinking that perhaps they woulf fill in the gaps.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what kind of eyes work?

Well my guess it's that's depending on the brand of the eyes. My Il wears eyes from two different company's; Glib and Antina's doll supply's (e-bay) And there is a small gap in the corners where he has the Glib eye, the other one fits a bit better. Seems a bit bigger in my opinion. They are both round 8mm acrylics though. But personally I am not really bothered by the little gap.

I'm considering ordering a Tai. I'm a newbie to bjds and I wonder what the difference is between a "Real Body" and a "Gentle body"?

 

If you look a the pics on their website, the real body is more muscular than the gentle body. I chose the real body as it looks more masculine to me. That is the only difference.

 

Does anyone know where I can find matt tonner clothes? I've looked everywhere and can't find any.

 

I don't know if anyone here has tried them, but I wonder if Ringdoll kid clothes would fit the Orientdoll boys...? Theie measurements are actually listed as slimmer (though taller) than the ODs and might fit them!

 

The clothes might fit if they stretch a bit. Worth a try if you can find them cheap. Though if the Ringdoll is taller the pants will probably look like capris.

 

What is the difference between Tae and IL? I mean, aren't they quite alike?
Why does it seem like everyone is buying Taes and not ILs? Are the Taes better or cuter or what? :S

...Sorry for stupid questions. Sometimes it feels like I have nothing to do in this hobby, because I can so little about it :/

 

It's the structure of the face probably.
The Tae-type seems a bit more masculine/rounder where as the Il is a bit more femmy/pointy.
Body wise they are the same. I cannot think of another difference as the face though.
And I think that is the reason why most people go for the Tea, because he looks more masculine or mature.

Only thing with these dolls is, that they are not very common on the board (anymore) due to their strange measurements.
But that has never stopped me from loving my guy

 

I got my Tae!!!! Squee! He is so beautiful!!!! He is my dream doll. I love the way he fits into my tinies world. His butt fits in my 1/6 size furniture !!! He is over 7 feet tall in that world, but his proportions work beautifully with my mature tinies from 27 cm to 30 cm.


I have sueded and wired him while I wait for elastic and hooks to arrive from coolcat.

Ooh just incase anyone is curious, I've just compared my new IL with my chicline El. IL's head is like half time bigger xD;



it's like 6-7" vs 7-8" for msd and 8-9" vs 9-10" for sd heads xD;

 

hyschara, I didn't think there would be such a difference in their head sizes! My Tae already has such a small head, or so I thought. Are their bodies more or less the same size though? I was hoping they could share clothes, and possibly shoes?

 

Yup they can share clothes it seems. I'll do a body comparison pic later. Probably will include my off-topic 16" Dollmore boy too as bonus (IL's head is bigger than his as well, despite having the same eyesize xD; )

My IL is wearing my chicline boy's marsh pants atm, so at least their hips and legs are similar xD

 

Ooh, body comparison would be nice! I imagine that the Chicline body poses much better than the Orientdoll one, but feel free to prove me wrong! Also, that sucks about the whole "no plans to make one" thing from Leekeworld. Silly doll companies. >.>

@Elcia - their neck size seems to be the same, but I can't try for you, sorry. Chicline's headback's locking mechanism is a little alien to me, I'm scared I might break it xD; But it seems pretty do-able. The most modding you may have to do is possibly a bit of sanding (if any)

@KittyFields - the Chicline will definitely pose better, going by the number of joints they have xD

I bought a Vampire Tae off the MP here and have just got him back from getting a face-up (by the wonderful Angel Toast) and managed to squeeze in a fast picture in decent light before I had to go to work. Please excuse the attack of the flyaway hairs. Its rather dry in my house and everything has static cling right now *sigh*. Wig by TinyBear and eyes are custom by DreamingTree Studios. Outfit and tail by me.




I loved this guy from the moment I saw him and he's perfect for the character I knew him to be. He does look a little... off next to my other MSD's (especially since some are supposed to be family) but he was too perfect to be Tyhlian to let that stop me. He will be paired up with another MSD, but the difference in height works as his lover is supposed to be about 5" taller than he is.

I do have a question though. In a moment of madness, I re-strung his legs and ended up going super ghetto in making a pair of S-hooks out of bobby pins for his feet. Has anybody purchased proper S-hooks and can they tell me what size they got? I'd also like to know if anybody found significant improvement in hot glue sueding his knees as even with a fairly tight leg stringing, his legs still like to buckle at the knees.

The reason why you probably cant find anything about them is because they are ORIENT DOLL. Not Oriental doll. This is their discussion thread. And just a note, Orientdolls are smaller in size compared to normal MSDs. You can see comparisons of an Orientdoll[40cm] here with an Dollzone doll[45cm]. Scroll to post #3! Hope this helped!

 

The Orient Doll is about the same size as the Fairyland Chicline. Here is a picture of my Tae, Girard, with a regular MSD, Planet Doll Dandy, Mstya and my Lumelight Koit, Dima. My Tae has been modded down to 36-37 cm to fit in better with my 1/6 dolls. He is my favorite boy.

My boy. It's his name - Boy. Another my dolls are girls, there is no need for another title. I find this doll of very sexual. He also thinks so.
