20–39cm Dolls Octo-Cat has landed! (CoralReef/WhaleTower Miao Zhangzhang)

This little cutie arrived last night! (Ordered in June of this year, so the wait was pretty short considering!)
She's in "Pure White" resin, and I ordered her entirely blank plus some extra parts. (I added on 2 extra eye bases so that I could make her some different eye options.)

She's super duper cute and her resin is very smooth and clean! I absolutely love every detail they sculpted into this doll, and I'm very excited to paint her up soon.

Lastly, I bought this acrylic standee from CoralReef at the same time, since they restocked them and I missed out the first release. This piece is so pretty! The art is amazing, and now I can display her with my mantis doll too.

The inside of her head is all sculpted to look like metal plating, like the inside of a mech or ufo?? It will be fun to paint for sure!

 

Thank you! Mmhmm their strange hybrids of creatures and animals are so weird and fun! The other one that was available in this set was the centipede one, but the buggy legs were a bit much for me. I really hope someone else got one though and will post pics, cuz I definitely want to see it! (Just not own it LOL)

 

hahahaha RIGHT? What a silly concept and I love it! The tiny joystick just sits in the groove there and you can move it back and forth. The sculpting on the tiny-octo-pilot is also perfect for the little control panel. The tentacles sit just right to reach the buttons and the joystick.

 

I was surprised at the size of this doll, to be honest! She was larger than the typical "1/6 yosd" sizes I have from DollZone and FJX. Kinda love it tho!?
Her hips fit MSD shorts and skirts, but her top is more YOSD and Barbie sized. Her head is 8-9 though, so she needs larger wigs for sure.

 

Mmmhmm! I'm sure I'll make my life more difficult by trying to make her some custom little clothes. XD LOL
I do also want to try a "splatoon/inkling" type of wig for her eventually. Maybe I can sculpt it out of clay, then mold it and cast in resin or silicone.

 

Silicone could be super fun yeah! Maybe that's the direction I should try. Thanks!
