OasisDoll Discussion Thread Part 2

Since the last time I visited this thread, I've acquired Jadeite! I was able to adopt one from a friend, I'm really happy I was able to add her into my little Oasisdoll family, hehe~ Her sculpt is even more gorgeous in person! My girl is still pretty incomplete; she needs a wig of her own, better eyes and also a darker face up to match her character (she's quite the flirty vixen), but I couldn't resist snapping a photo anyway.

My Natalie (named Hwa Young) got the Chic body from Jadeite as I want a shorter body for Saki. However, because I wanted Hwa Young to have smaller boobs, I'm in the middle of sanding the chest. It's such a slow project, especially since I don't have that much free time to begin with... This year has been really hectic work-wise and my dolls have been quite neglected.

 

Congrats @Mizya! Jadeite is my all-time favourite sculpt - if I had to only keep one doll, it would be her. Look forward to seeing more of yours, as she's lovely and there (literally) aren't enough Jadeites in the world.

Hi, i would love to buy Linglan and her sleeping head (or Yaoyue, not sure yet) with oasisdoll body (don't speak about hybrids to me, have to much at home and they don't age well).
As it would be for a ballerina/classical danser, is the body posing well enough to make the movement (holding them in another thing) or is it too limited and only basics poses can be done ?

 

I find their posing to be pretty basic, and sueding is absolutely necessary for the thigh sockets. I haven't really used the normal legs, my girl is usually only on her high heeled ones.

@chizzie_shark Gosh, my reply is really late, but thank you so much! Jadeite is certainly lovely, she has an unique charm that not many other sculpts have. And you're right, there aren't many of them around so I feel extremely lucky that I was able to bring her home! A couple of days ago I finally got Saki a wig of her own, so I took a photo of her. I'll link it because she's showing off her boobs, ahah: here. She still needs better eyes and a new face up, but the weather took a turn for the worse so all painting work is on hold now for a change. ~__~;

@Naisha Thank you for the heads up! If I had the funds, I would go for Naomi on IT body. She's the last one of the "must have" Oasisdoll girls on my list. Perhaps next year I'll have better luck with the pre-order. ^^


I recently repainted Yun Hee (Linglan), so I wanted to post a photo of her here. :3



I wasn't happy with her previous face up for the longest time, but I've been struggling to find the energy to paint my resin dolls these past years. I actually had to paint Yun Hee twice because in the first version, I messed up her lips. Luckily the second version turned out much better and I'm so happy with her now!

 

@Mizya She looks amazing!! I've just ordered a Linglan head and I can't wait to have her and do her face-up What eye size did you use? I think I'll have to buy a pair and I really like the proportions you got.

So the stars aligned and just as I was wishing I could pick up another Natalie (for a different character), one came up on the Marketplace. I never thought I'd get a chance to bring two of these beautiful girls home. It's going to be a few months before I can get her painted, sadly, but I can't wait!

 

Out of curiosity, does anyone here have Roxanne?

 

@Naisha Thank you so much! She's got Enchanted Doll 16mm eyes with low dome (standard size iris & pupil). They sit perfectly inside her head and the iris size is very good, too - not too small and not too big. The standard iris diameter of ED 16mm eyes is about 9mm, so if looking at other brands, I'd look for ones with a similar sized iris. But I definitely recommend ED eyes, they're very well made and high quality!

@mustbemissa Thank you~ And congratulations on your second Natalie, I'm sure she'll turn out gorgeous! These girls are so versatile, it'd be fun to have two of the same sculpt and see how distinct you could make them with different style face up, wig and eyes. My Linglan went through quite of a transformation, too, just by doing her face up in another style than her earlier one (her first face up was more in western make up style with lots of dark eye shadow, while the new one follows Korean make up trends and is more natural). She looks different even though she still has the same wig and eyes, hehe. xD

Unfortunately Roxanne doesn't seem to be very common, at least I can't recall seeing owner photos of her here on DoA. :C I checked the Oasisdoll database but there aren't any Roxannes either... which reminds me, I should add my girls into the database at some point.

 

Ooh, I love ED eyes! I use 14mm in my Natalie, but I've thought about getting her 16mm with the narrower iris just so they don't gap. They're worth every penny!

And thank you, @Mizya! They really are, I'm so amazed at how different this sculpt can look. I'm excited about giving her a slightly more dramatic/darker appearance.

It's a shame! I may pick up a Roxanne eventually, but I'm sort of tempted to style her as a boy.

Im not good at eyeing sculpts without a faceup or eyes, do you know if Oasis doll will be showing pictures of them with a faceup and eyes?
I really love the lip and nose shape of Zi Lan

The sculpting on them is beautiful, and Im glad to see Oasis Doll back after seeing so many of their older sculpts on Instagram

I am a bit concerned with the neck diameter of 3.3 cm. Most of my doll heads are closer to 3.8cm.
I saw on facebook that these heads will fit on Dollshe 18M (I assume Maxi). I am waiting for 2 Mystic bodies with 12.5cm neck girths. Can't imagine they would fit...

Also, to see the differences between these sculpts, I would need to see faceups to choose.

 

Yay! My Tian Qing is on his way! I made an executive decision and ordered him during the pre-sale. I'm prepared to open the neck hole if I need to. Anyone else waiting for these boys?

I am waiting for my Loongsoul doll that I ordered in December. He will share te body. The doll's neck is 11.5cm and Tian Qing's neck opening is 10.5cm so I will need to mod it. All my dolls are 70-72cms and I want him to blend in. So I am stalled on his faceup. The Granado Lads Plus looks really great. If it had wider shoulders, chest, etc. I would grab one!

 

maybe the Granado Zen body is your style. I think it's also very tall.

For me I'd like to create the Untamed characters. Especially Wang Yibo is quite thin, so Tian Qing (in my version) needs a youthful slender body.

Yes. I too would prefer that! I'll look at the Zen body.
Naw, too skinny for my clothes and the neck size is the same as the Loongsoul B-B73-02. I think the Longsoul body has a 20yr old body and would fit all my clothes. BTW, IRL Wang Yibo is shorter than Xiao Zhan. They are both very skinny! Where will you get clothes? SPO?

Yes Yibo is shorter, he's also thinner, but I always felt like in the series they seem to be quite alike. I guess it would look better on the later pictures if their proportions match with each other.

I will create the outfit myself. I'm very interested in creating such a look. It's a good challenge.
Same for the hairstyle. Such a wig just doesn't exist.

I think they looked the same height in the series on purpose. I only noticed the height difference in videos of them.

I forgot to mention that I plan on getting Rugged Realism Aquillo in 65cm as soon as Helene is ready for preorders. I know that she also plans 2 more heads and I may change my mind on the head. But this body looks younger and less muscle bound to me than the Loongsoul body. Again the neck will be 11.5cm so TQ will need some modding but this may be a better choice of body for him.

Another turn of events, while the sale is on, I found out I can indeed order a Loongsoul body like Wolf with a 10.5cm neck. I asked Alice's Collections and they simply applied a a toggle on the ordering page for both 11.5cm or 10.5cm, so I have ordered it! Tian Qing has a body coming.

 

I told u nice! Can't wait to see the whole doll.

I ordered a Tian Qing head as well! He's going to be a character of mine and I want him to be slender and in line with my other dolls (the tallest is ~70 cm). I have an Akagidoll 66cm body for this character already at home and I'm hoping he'll work proportions-wise, the neck is 10.8 so hopefully it will! The colour will be off but that's to be expected.

Very excited to see everyone's heads arrive, there aren't enough of them on Instagram

 

I've had my head for a while with no faceup. I am waiting for a body to see if I need to mod. My plan was to submerge the head in water while I sanded the neck opening to avoid resin dust. But only without a faceup. If you want, I can take photos of the blank head or are you wanting to see how people paint the face?

I really wanted to order Tian Qing but I'm very new to this hobby and was too worried about how hard it would be to find a body. My only bjd already had a matching body and faceup when I got him. I hope you guys will post your progress though

 

I ordered a Loongsoul body for Tian Qing late January. It will be June or later before it comes. Hopefully someone can advise you before that, but I will definitely post photos.

 

Thank you. I think there are still a bunch of people waiting. I'm still considering trying just because the sculpt is so amazing, but I don't understand the whole neck size thing.

 

The neck hole in the bottom of the head needs to fit the neck on the doll body. If the neck hole is a touch small, the hole can be sanded to fit. Best to sand immersed in water on a doll with a blank face because air borne resin particles are toxic.

I think it's harder to make them match if the head hole is too large for the neck, although there are adapters that fit between the neck hole and neck. I have two different adapters but have never used either so far (one came with the doll head). Iplehouse body neck measurements don't ever seem to be the true size of the top of the neck in my experience. They flare out bigger than where they must measure them. You can see why so many collectors end up with floating heads! I hope this explanation doesn't scare you away! I love my Tian Qing head and am waiting patiently to see if my body will match. But just in case, I am not painting his faceup so I can mod his hole in water if necessary.

 

oasisdoll said the heads are going to ship in mid march... it's mid march but nothing happens... T_T

I'm so excited to see Oasisdoll gain more traction. Their dolls are so lovely. I hope Sarina keeps making boys! All of my Oasisdolls are probably too old to be relevant for hybrid info, but they match Volks and Sadol fairly well if it helps!

I'm finally getting my second Natalie painted, and I think I want to pick up a Yaoyue in the near future.

 

I ordered a Yaoyue head and a Linglan head in mid-Jan, I am hoping they will ship early April, if the EMS courier comes back online like they’re saying.

Well, I'm the first one I suppose because I live in China.
And the pre-order was till 10th of January, if I'm not mistaken, only after this date they've started the production.

 

Gawd people, how awful can waiting be... Still no shipping information or tracking number...

One week ago they wrote "We will provide the tracking number very soon" ... but nothing happens.

Any updates on your sides?

 

My Yaoyue and Linglan heads that I ordered in January were shipped today! Very excited, they’ve been on my wants list for ages! Now I just have to see what sort of body suits them..... I am tossing up between waiting until Oasisdoll releases their new bodies this year, or trying to find a resin match.

 

Finally got my Alejandro head painted after all these years (has it really been since 2011???)
Waiting on a Switch body for them now! I need to come up with a name.



I recently found out about Sarina's new sculpts (I think they came out late last year???) and am excited to hopefully see more of them!

 

I have an Alejandro head that has been waiting too! That awesome face up inspires me to do something with him!

 

ooh! Has there been discussion of a new body? I have my Natalie on a Sadol Love60 body, but she looks great on pretty much all of the bodies I have: Volks SDGR girl, Oasisdoll It Girl, and Switch Hummingdolly 57cm.

I happened to catch an exchange between Oasisdoll and another commenter on their facebook on the 16th December 2019 - in response to the user asking what bodies the girls went best on, they stated: "Their own body of course.The body is not available as this moment, we plan to upgrade it and release it next year."

 

@Chobittum, that's exciting news! I've been wanting to pick up a Linglan or Yaoyue, so I may hold out for that as well.

I'm very excited for my Alejandro's new body to get here. I wound up ordering a Switch Hummingdolly body for them earlier in the month and am counting the days until it's June. I've heard they pose well, and I really love how the hands are sculpted (I already tracked down an extra pair lol. They're so expressive!) Now I'm just waiting for the last of their clothes to ship. This is only the 2nd time I've hybrided a doll in like 16+ years of being in the hobby, it's like being a baby in the hobby all over again! All the resin matching research I've done lately
Now if only orders for the eyes I want to buy for them will open up again soon.

I really liked the old Oasisdoll girl body from an aesthetic perspective. I can't wait to see what a new one will be like!

My TianQing arrived safely today and he's gorgeous! I'll take some (blank) pictures hopefully tomorrow.
I've put him on a (year old) Akagidoll 65cm boy body and the fit and proportions are great. The head is a little lighter in colour but I don't mind that much. If anyone is interested I can take some pictures of the fit as well.
So excited to finally have him home!

I'm in Europe and the tracking froze for over two weeks! It seems that the package was waiting at the Beijing airport to be shipped all that time. When it finally moved, I had an update saying that it was loaded on the plane, then it froze again for a week. And then finally an update in my country, went through customs over the weekend and now he's here

 

Thanks!! Another person I was talking to is in Germany and hers is in customs now. Probably days to weeks still for mine then, lol. Like yours, mine still says it's in Beijing, smh. Can't wait to see pics of yours!!!

Who among us is still waiting on parcels? My girls were shipped on the 8th of April, but are sitting in China. I have to giggle every time I look at the tracking, because the updates are like "It's on the way bro, we totally swear for reals this time". I wonder how long it will eventually take (if they don't get straight up lost in the post).....
