I understand you. Before the new year, too, I thought I wanted one or two. But she took two because they look good together)))
And now I save twice as much to buy bodies ...
At my place there is a guy with the body СД17 and heads look well on it. But it is 65, and I would like 68cm. This is not a big difference, but I want harmony in my collection, even in such trifles)))) So if you are not sure about the purchase, think better before you buy)

 

Even if I were just to take my Ninodoll kids to an event it would be two SD sized dolls (potentially three if I sort a body for the Shampoo head) to be hauling to a meet. I'm a librarian and cataloguer, so I'm used to hauling boxes of heavy books around and bags full of resin isn't going to present any probems.

Well, I'm going to think about it for a day or two. The pre-order ends on Sunday, anyway. It does seem the turnaround is quite quick, though?

 

Can't help you there - once I order stuff I pretty much forget about it until it arrives (or I'm prompted to do something like send details or another payment etc.) so I never have much concept of the timeframe involved.

I forgot to show Bobbin (my Bada boy on a Volk SD10 body) in the new outfit I found for him:


Boys are "poor-relations" when it comes to clothing choices in my household (harder to find clothes to buy for them that work for me, and I prefer sewing for girls so seldom get around to making boy clothes), and poor Bobbin, being the newest addition to the SD boys, is even harder done-by than the other resin boys, so when I saw this Volks outfit for a good price I snapped it up for him (even though the velvet is completely wrong for the hot weather of summer)

I also finally bought a body for the Shampoo head I've had in a box for a couple of years. I tried it on several bodies from other dolls I already have and plumped for the DollsTown 7Year body in Oriental skin.

But I still haven't gotten around to giving the head a face-up....

There is a new order period coming up and since I didn't order anything last time...etc.
But I realised that maybe SD size dolls aren't really my thing (unless lighter vinyl).

 

I have the Shampoo head on a DollsTown 7Year body, which is only marginally larger than a regular MSD.

I've not heard of an announcement but I think there are usualy two a year - one around March/April/May and the other around September/October... If I'm remembering correctly.

I usually just swing by the web page every so often to see if a new one is mentioned, but I see some are also announced here: nino doll

I like Shampoo, but my real love is Yuya and maybe Shiro. So I'm sort of stuck with the SD option, if I get a Ninodoll head.

It's here on their IG: 1-5 August through DM. The following post also has all the headshots of the available sculpts.

ETA: Sorry for multiple edits. I was trying to work out if I could post the actual IG with the photo here on the forum, but it doesn't seem to work.

 

Those two aren't smiley enough for me, but yes, SD sized bodies for both. I have Bada (Volks SD10 body), Juri (DollsTown 13Year body), and Shampoo (Dollstown 7Year body). I'm very tempted by the Smile DD sculpt, but that's designed for an SD17 size body and I don't have any others that big, so I'm unlikely to give in to temptation there.

Aw, and I don't like smiley dolls much at all!
Well, I'm going to think about it, since it's not until a couple of weeks ahead. There is this new licensed Smart Doll I am interested in also coming up in August. But then again, maybe I "need" another Crobidoll E-line. (Just kill me now, lol.)

Do you have a picture of Shampoo on the DollsTown 7year body? My Shampoo is searching for the 'right' body!

 

Basically, you need to create an account and then send Ninodolls a Direct Message, which can be done directly through their profile. I don't think you need to have a public profile, but if you're not planning on posting any photos you might as well leave it open.

My bad! I thought that since it said "DM please" on the IG post, it meant they only wanted contact that way. Some smaller bjd companies are like that, because it's easier for them to keep track of orders.

 

That's a bit short-sighted of them - not everybody is on Instagram (or Facebook or any of those type of social-media outlets). I'd certainly find it vey offputting and certainly wouldn't sign up for an account just to be able to order a doll.

I can understand that. At the same time, if it's a one-person thing they do on the side, I suppose it's easier to administrate orders with just one channel. No idea if that's the case with Ninodolls, though!

 

Thanks again, for all the information. I do have an Instagram account, but I haven't posted there. It's just for browsing. I had wondered about using the email as shown on the web site, but since the sale hasn't been announced there, I figured Instagram was the preferred method this time. Either way, I'm excited and so glad the sale was posted here. I suppose there might be a post in the news thread at some point, as it gets closer to the ordering period. But knowing ahead of time lets me plan a little better.

Teddy - Shampoo looks really nice on the Dollstown 7-year body. I wouldn't have thought of it, myself.

To be honest, I didn't think of it myself, initially. I was looking for other bodies she'd work on and tried her on bodies from several of my existing dolls (I already knew the head worked on the DollsTown Elf body as several people have done that), when it struck me that quite a lot of heads that work on the DollsTown Elf body also work on the 7Year body, and gave it a try on the body of one of my 7Year kids.

Shampoo really does look good on that body. Makes me wonder if any of the boy heads would work on smaller bodies too.

 

I think the Shampoo head is considerably smaller than the other "SD-sized" heads (it's certainly smaller than the Bada head and even smaller compared to the Juri head), so it would take some experimentation to find out.

Bada is the next smallest Ninodoll head that I have, I could try that head on the DollsTown 7Year and Elf bodies if you like....?

It might be a day or two before I get the chance (theatre trip straight from work tonight - Noises Off, one of my favourite comedies - Yay!) but I'll post pictures once I've had the chance to give it a try.

Shampoo is my Most Favoritest Doll Ever. Not as flashy as some of the newer dolls (I heart Fairyland), but she has such a sweet innocence. She will always be the one I keep.

When I bought the head, Ninodoll's artist said that she sculpted the head for an SD10 body. I went through several bodies until I found one that I liked. I couldn't get a hold of an SD10, and the SD13 that I had looked way too big. She finally found her Forever Body in the Customhouse (AI Dolls, now Luts) SD. I had to sand the neck shorter. She is as tall as any of my other SDs, but I think the slimness of the body makes it work.

I've heard that she is a really good fit for the Rosette School of Doll body, which was a 50-something cm body. It looks like Soom might be selling this body now? The webpage is hard to navigate.

 

@Natsunekko, I love Shampoo on that body...! The original Custom House bodies are really lovely I think, so graceful...although not very good posers, LOL!

I used to have one of the Rosette School girls and wouldn't have thought they'd fit, as they seemed just like a long-legged mini and the head was a 6-7 so really small, but great if someone has made it work!

Shampoo and Momo are 2 of the sculpts that I want so bad but have never managed to organise getting them...

I have Anna and Bada though...here is my Bada, Bertie, with his bestie, Anais (a Volks SD Anais) having an 'I can see forever from this tree' moment...

A little bit bobble-headed for my liking but not too bad and it's all a matter of taste.

Shampoo and Momo...it's creeping up on me that they will need to join my crew. Although which one, I don't know...and I think I need to weed the herd a bit...

 

I finally had a chance to take a stab at a faceup for my shampoo head. It's not perfect, and one set of eyelashes needs attention, but it will do for now.

She hasn't a name yet, but I think she really works well on the DollsTown 7Year body:

Hey!! Anyone has a DD head on a female body? I would love to see, as Im considering doing that in the future

 

What are people's opinions on how young the Momo head could look with the right faceup?

Nearly all of my dolls are children and I need a smallish SD sized very young head for the next body.

I haven't seen it done, but that sculpt would make for a lovely female doll.

Im thinking of putting it with an Amadiz Beauty body, but maybe it would clash? Im really unsure...

 

Amadiz do a range of skintones, so you should be ableto fidn one that's close enough - do they still do the larger bodies though? At the momemnt the only seem to be listing the smaller ones on their webstie.

Oh, I am buying an SD body second hand! But Im not worried about the skintone, more the feeling of the androgynous face on the very curvy body

 

I don't think you need to worry - that scupt will make a very pretty female doll.

What body have people used for their DD heads? I went ahead and got a Luts senior65 doll to put my DD heads on because getting ahold of the suggested SD17 sounded like a headache and they're supposed to be the same size. But I'm not entirely happy with the hybrid. The head looks too small for the body. I think I need one slightly smaller.

 

This thread seems to have been dead for a while, but I'm gonna revive it because I finally bit the bullet and ordered the Bada head I've always wanted Frappzilla's Bada was actually one of the BJDs that made me discover the hobby like 10 years ago, so I'm excited to have finally ordered one of my own!

Does anyone have their Ninodolls on ~65 cm bodies? I prefer those proportions but I don't know if it'll work for this style of doll!

 

I don't know if this will be of any help to you but....

The largest body I have any of mine on is the DollsTown 13Year body - I have Juri/Juli on that one, but my Bada head was the other contender for that body and looked fine (to me) proportion wise:
