I have, practically everyone. I'm pretty much known as being the crazy doll person to family and friends. When workers come over to fix things at the house they sometimes like to take pictures of my dolls to show to their wife and kids. If I'm at a store shopping for something doll related and need help finding a thing I will even end up talking about dolls with the store clerks. Never have I ever... used Photoshop or some similar photo editor to it on my pictures.
I edit most photos, even if just for a crop and resize. Photoshop is what I've been using since I was a teen so it's the easiest for me. Never have I ever left a doll project unfinished for more than a week.
Look at my project journal from 2020 and weep. I leave projects so unfinished that characters change, and I have to finish them differently. My ADHD starts and abandons projects with reckless abandon. never have I ever sewn my own doll clothes (but I’m hoping to change that soon!)
i sew ALL of my own doll clothes, it's one of my favorite parts of the hobby and the main thing that first got me interested in buying a bjd! (unfortunately since i make each doll clothing that's specifically fitted to them and designed for their character/personal style, and i'm not always super speedy since i do most of my sewing by hand, this means that some of my dolls stay naked for a lot longer than i'd like after they first arrive and there are a number of them that still only have one outfit...) never have i ever been to a doll meet...
I have been to exactly one, I sorta stubbled into one on accident in a con or maybe they were all friends that went together and just didn't tell me to leave. Either way I was awkward but would love to attend another some day maybe. never have i ever sent out a doll to get a face up (mostly cuz i always use the money for something else XD)
I never have either. I actually like to do my own face ups, but I would also be too afraid to just send my doll away to get it done. Never have I ever: Taken a doll with me to go shopping to buy something (props, furniture, clothes, etc) for the doll.
I have! Mostly because I am really, really bad at eyeballing scale; things are too big or too small if I don't have a point of reference. Never have I ever permanently modded a doll.
i have , nothing big just removed human ears for my fantasy style characters, eventually i want to try some more advanced moddeing for characters that i currently don't have. I have never had a colorful doll like a fantasy color (red, blue, red etc) closest is Aqua who is white skin with blue body blushing on joints and stuff.
I own, just at current: 4 blue dolls (with another planned), 1 green doll, 3 going on 4 purple dolls, 2 teal dolls, three red dolls, 4 grey dolls, an obsidian black doll, and 1 going on 2 pink dolls. This is excluding colourful dolls that I’ve sold, which is a few. There aren’t a lot of things I’ve never done in this hobby, but uhhhh, never have I ever bought a doll for someone else?
i've bought a few dolls as gifts over the years for my daughter who is also a bjd collector never have i ever sold a doll! if i recall correctly i sold a head i got once as a free extra that i just didn't have any use for, but i've never put a doll together, had a character for it, and then sold it.
I’ve probably sold more dolls than I presently own—and my collection numbers into the 70’s. I’m somewhat of a revolving door collector, honestly, but that’s going to have to change cause selling secondhand from Canada sucks right now! Never have I ever gone to a doll con?
I haven't either. It would be a really fun thing to do. I would love to be able to get away and do this at least once. Life and responsibilities doesn't allow for it. Never have I ever lost a bid on an eBay auction. (Not bragging, I just didn't know what else to say.)
I have lost many, many auctions. I love my second-hand dolls and I can't resist some of the pretty ones that come up for auction. Of all the dolls I've tried to bid on, I've won ... three? Maybe four? Never have I ever placed a doll in water for a photoshoot.
I haven't either i don't do much with photography to be honest never have i ever made a diorama box for my dolls (although i want to it woulfd be cool to have a set up for them )
I have. In the beginning I made a living room box, and a bathroom box. It took up a lot of space. Eventually I got tired of tripping over it., and I dismantled it. I kept the furniture, but tossed the whole box wooden floors and all. I now use canvas and cloth backgrounds and set the scenes up like at a production studio. I find it works easier for me. I can just take it all apart at the end of the photo shoot. I'll take a picture of the room, to know how to set it up again as needed. Never have I ever... owned an anthromorphic doll. (Not counting magnetic ears.)
Literally the first doll I had that wasn't an animal is an anthropomorphic fox, the gem of doll orion (fox version). I would like a few more anthromorphic dolls, even if the human ones are all so beautiful. Never have I ever... changed the outfit on my fullset doll. So beautiful, but such a pain to get on. (might one day in the future... maybe in a few years? Maybe not).
I have! Although I felt the same way, it's such a gorgeous set but very involved to put it on. But I was dying to see my doll in a new look. When I mustered the energy, it was easier to get off than on maybe because I'd done it already? never have I ever travelled somewhere with my dolls! I always think I want to, then start worrying about keeping them safe
I have! I've taken a doll to Japan with me, taken dolls into forests, to the coast and to the mountains for photos, and when I l moved house, my dolls spent the 3500km distance with me in my car. Never have I ever commissioned a wig or outfit...
Neither have I! I want to commission some outfits, but I wouldn’t know who to start with. Valentine needs some very specific costumes to fit how he dresses in my book, but I can’t commission them until I get his final body ordered and arrived. If I don’t impulse buy any more dolls on layaway, I might be able to order that for him soon! Never have I ever dreamed about dolls?
I have! They've always been so vague, but there have been bjds involved for sure. I think I once dreamt of trying to put a zaoll head on an uncle body? Never have I ever put my dolls on a 24/7 display
i have--- my dolls all live in a built-in corner cabinet in my art room. my husband built it for me so it would face away from all the windows and so the shelves would be spaced right for big SD dolls to stand and have headroom. (woodworking is his hobby!) i don't have space to store doll boxes, so that display is their permanent 24/7 home. never have i ever owned a Soom limited doll...
Oh! I have—I’ve owned Nephelin and Migma and Cass’ fantasy bodies, Breccia Soul stealer (twice), vesuvia poison kiss (in the OG pearl violet), and vesuvia’s body in bronze twice, I’ve owned Alex’s head briefly, I have Sard’s surprise head, and I used to own his whole fantasy body. For idealians, I’ve owned Garrion twice, Hyperon scarface, gluino mechanic vampire, gluino OG release, and Tei. Never have I ever owned a Volks head (bodies, yes, but no heads!)
I have? Well, I bought her and I am waiting for Volks to send my full doll. She does come with a head. She is instock. So Yay! I am very excited over this... lol, I started to answer the question before and had to hurry up and change my response! Never Have I Ever ... Owned a Fairyland doll.
I have! A littlefee pipi was one of my first dolls and I ordered from Denverdoll. I found him to not quite be my taste but I do feel a little nostalgic to see littlefees. Never have I ever dyed a doll!
I’ve dyed: -soon nephelin (cherry red) -resinsoul hybrid (green) -withdoll body (grey) -withdoll body (electric blue) -fifth motif hybrid (electric blue) -dollmore hybrid (dark red) -long soul hybrid (red) -resinsoul hybrid (dark indigo) -feeple60 body (dark tan) -lillycat girl (light pink) and these are just the dolls of mine I’ve dyed—I’ve dyed even more dolls for other people. Never have I ever damaged one of my dolls in a way I couldn’t fix?
i think i have. at least damaged it to where i can't fix it in a way that would give me the result i actually want i have a Bobobie Charisma head that i got off the MP years ago. i did a lot of enthusiastic modding to her when i first got her...and i wasn't very good at it yet. i've been trying to reverse it all and restore her because i actually have always wanted to have a Charisma in my collection and i even have a body for her-- but despite my best efforts i decided that i just can't get her back to her original state. or even a state that i would like. i ordered a new Charisma head a few months ago from Denver Doll, and hopefully i'll get it before the end of summer. never have i ever painted a faceup that i've actually been happy with (though i am hoping that will change soon!)
I have never done a face-up and been happy with it. I got a practice head. I made to give him a little beauty mark on his cheek. I ended up drawing a line from his cheek to the corner of his mouth; think the Joker in brown watercolor pencil. Nope. Nope. Nope. I did end up doing a face-up on my tiny Doll Leaves, Alex. It is ... not the worst. I can live with it - its a good thing too, considering I can't get it off! That sealant is on there and refuses to come off. Never have I ever modded a doll with epoxy or clay.
I have. I did leg extensions on a doll that I thought was too short. I needed him just a bit taller and it worked great. I would now be willing to do other mods on dolls like this if I felt there was something I wanted to change about the doll. Never have I ever... sold a doll.
Oh, I’m a revolving door collector. I’ve sold more dolls than I currently own. And I currently own like 70 of these things. Never have I ever… bought someone else a doll
Not a BJD, but I did buy my mother an antique doll that was made in 1918. No one close to me is actually interested in BJD dolls. Never have I ever made my own doll eyes.
Neither have I. It might be interesting to learn about the process and watch it, but I don't want to actually do it. Never have I ever done a burn mod.
