All of mine are complete, just not exactly how I want them to look. I joined bjd groups and forums to buy second hand but I have only bought new, so never have I ever bought second hand.
I have a lot of hybrids, but one of my boys is fully secondhand from the marketplace. I bought his head and body separate though, it's a wonder they matched. Never have I ever bought a fantasy colored doll.
Neither, the sculpts I end up liking often don't come in fantasy colours and I'm worried about limiting myself to a smaller wardrobe so the colours don't clash. Never have I ever restrung a doll.
I have! I do all of my restringing while drinking! Makes the pain less...painful. Never have I ever.... Traded for the same sculpt, just a different color. (Example: A WS Soom Sard for a NS Soom Sard)
Not yet! I haven't ever traded dolls at all yet. Never have I ever commissioned custom clothes/shoes/wig for a doll.
I haven't. Not really. Usually I buy dolls I've been watching for ages and get them. Never Have I Ever bought a doll from someone because I needed part of the Fullset they had because seller wouldn't split.
I did this back when I had MSD sized dolls. I bought a Minifee hybrid only because I wanted the head lol Never Have I Ever been to a BJD Meetup or Convention x_x
I attended two of the New York City Volks Dolpas. I miss those events. Never have I ever reshelled a character.
Me neither, my dolls pretty much become their characters whether I like it or not and the only detailed pre-existing character I've shelled so far, the doll has embodied the character to the point that even my mom and sister have gotten to where they know him through the doll and I think thoughts of the doll or the character now are one and the same in my mind. Never have I ever set up a permanent diorama for my dolls. (Though I'd like to)
Nope! I've never even set up a temporary one, I'm hoping I can make enough space for one or two one of these days. Never have I ever done a permanent modification on a doll (planning on doing one soon though )
I'm always scared to mess things up or change my mind half-way so I've never tried to make a permanent modification! Never have I ever failed to pay for a doll (whether it be second hand or layaway!)
I have never failed to pay for a doll. I always buy straight up - no layaway for me. I'd be too scared of life biting me in butt. I have however cried upon seeing my bank balance after paying for a doll XD Never have I ever...bought a doll over $500
I DEFINITELY bought a doll over $500. I think most of my dolls were over $500. Lololol I have no chill. But I mainly do layaway so it helps immensely for the big spendy dollies. Never have I ever bought a character doll. Nothing against character dolls. I think they are rather cool! But they are definitely for a specific buyer. I wanted the doctor strange bjd that came out a few years ago!
I actually *just* bought my first (and second) character doll not too long ago (Kirito/Xie Lian). However, I'm not planning on keeping Kirito as that character. ~Never have I ever...received the incorrect doll from an order.
Nope! However i once bought a doll second hand to hybride with a head i have. It was from the same company so the resin should have matched right? WRONG, My head was in white and i asumed for some reasen the body would have been aswel but when it arived i was so confused. So i re looked at the listing and sure enough it was listed as "NS"... but? even that looked wrong? the doll i recieved looked like it was in light tan? I now know its in fact NY but it came from a "faulty" batch were the dolls just had a darker color. So the wrap it up, i couldnt use it for a hybride since the head already had a faceup... so i sold the head and kep the doll as is and shes now one of my favorites lol. Her skin color is just so nice? And im truly happy for this to have happend bc i wouldnt have bought it if ive knewn it was such a color lol Anyyway- Never have i ever given a doll a beard
While I've seen some dolls with beards that definitely nailed it, I have to admit that I'm not a big fan of them myself and won't give my doll (or future ones) a beard any time soon lol Never have I ever go in a shopping spree and bought more than one doll at once.
If a body counts then I have ordered a doll and a body... I've also ordered a doll and spent a little extra for an event doll Never have I ever sold a doll to fund the purchase of another.
I sold off-topic fashion dolls to pay for two of my tinies. I'm currently selling a couple of my BJDs to justify getting others I like more, though I don't need that money to afford them. Never have I ever owned an SD sized doll.
I have three SD sized dolls. My heart is with smaller sizes, so this may change in the future. Never have I ever made a roombox.
I haven't either, but plan to do so when I move and have the space for one. Never have I ever sanded a doll in any way.
Never. I'd be terrified. Fortunately none of mine have needed it. Never have I ever tried to remove the yellowing from a doll
Nope, I only have one BJD at the moment, who came fresh from the company. Never have I ever bought an expensive doll spontaneously.
Twice. Both times I regretted it and ended up selling the dolls. Normally it takes me months to decide to buy a doll. Never have I ever gifted a BJD to a friend
I have, in fact the first bjd I purchased (pipos ringo) was as a gift for my sister (who happens to be my best friend) and I've also gifted her an OT hujoo for her birthday one year. On a similar note: Never have I ever been gifted a BJD.
Sewing outfits was what drew me to the hobby. My dolls have boxes full of homemade clothes. Never have I ever made my own eyes.
Neither have I. My gang mostly have glass ones, though a few have acrylic or resin. Never have I ever owned a grey doll. (Though I recently ordered one)
I don't own a grey doll, yet. But i do want one, just can't find the right sculpt or size. Never have I ever dyed a doll before, though i might have to now, if i want a specific Miqo´te look
Neither have I, and the main thing keeping me from doing so is restringing. I loathe restringing. Never have I ever owned a doll smaller than 1/6 scale.
I have, I started my bjd hobby with tinies 1/8 scale and recently got a tiny merbaby measuring only 5cm tall.I Never have I ever left my dolls in their boxes.
I'm a culprit of always leaving my dolls in their boxes, I have a little brother and I want them to be as far away from him as possible at the top of my closet lol Never have I ever tried to make a wig myself because I couldn't find the one I want.
At least half my dolls have pointy ears, several have wings, and one has goat ears and horns. I love fantasy in general, so I'm drawn to fantasy dolls. Never have I ever done major mods.
I've yet to do any major modding (or rly anything at all except some minor hot glue sueding) but I do have plans for a future project of modding some private Bits onto a future doll body to be more in line with a character of mine who's a transgirl Never have I ever sold a doll (or pieces of a doll ie head, body, parts etc)
I've also never sold a doll - or even pieces of a doll! Just clothes. Never have I ever dropped a doll so hard it broke *aggressively knocks on wood*
Neither have I, but I did fall on my OT tiny Moss and break her finger, I cried about it when I realized but luckily it was still partly attached and it glued in place with barely a seem. I have dropped dolls hard enough they should have broke like the time I misjudged and dropped my msd Vish causing him to face plant onto the metal foot rest on a wheelchair. He survived without even a dent. Never have I ever redone a face-up, though I did add a beauty mark with gouache by my doll Marjorie's eyebrow.
I do my own faceups on my dolls, partially to save money and partially because the idea of customizing dolls is what drew me to the hobby in the first place. Never have I ever done a doll photoshoot.
Just once many years ago! I think I used either an older phone camera or an old digital camera and unfortunately I don't know if the photos are still saved. I didn't have a nice DSLR camera and didn't know anything about photography at the time, which discouraged me from doing it more often. In retrospect, it's a little silly that that held me back because in my perfectionist mind I didn't want to make my dolls look bad! It's about having fun, even if I didn't have the best equipment or photography knowledge. I never got around to doing another one but now it's because I have been away from the hobby for a while, but I should consider doing another one! Never have I ever commissioned a custom outfit for my doll.
After years of dithering, I finally ordered cosplay outfits for my twins. I hadn't gotten around to making the clothes for years, so I figured I should outsource the project rather than wait forever. Never have I ever sculpted body parts for my dolls.
Neither have I. While it sounds fun I don't have plans to actually do it either. Never have I ever put a full doll in the freezer.
… I’m not sure why I would want to put a doll in the freezer?? So nope, haven’t done that. Never have I ever purchased a full set doll.
No, I haven't! They would look great but none of my dolls needs them at the moment. Never have I ever owned a doll with fantasy skin.
I have not owned any fantasy skin-toned dolls and don't really have plans for any (although a lavender VOLKS F-01 is not something I'd say no to). Never have I ever taken my dolls on a cruise.
I have! Not too many times, but I have taken them outside for photos before. I want to do it again soon when the leaves turn a bit more! Never have I ever restrung a doll by myself.
I have restrung a few dolls by myself and while certainly not impossible, the more complicated bodies make me glad that I can leave the task to the Dolly Doctor now. Never have I ever placed my doll in water for a photo.
I have never places my doll in water for a foto, but I took pics on the cleaning and restringing process. Never have I ever told the real price of my dolls to my family and/or friends.
I have (but only some people I actually felt very comfortable with) Never have I ever owned a doll with hooves (sadly)
I have. I own a Resinsoul Ming. Never have I ever dyed a doll, but I'd like to experiment with that at some point.
I've dyed quite a few of my dolls! It's a big project and a pain in the butt. But it's fun! Never have I ever owned a boy SD. (Though maybe one day! )
I owned a SD boy. He was mt first bjd but he's not with me anymore. Never have I ever owned a mermaid/sea creature bjd.
I’d love a mermaid doll but sadly I don’t have one… I do own several elves though. Never have I ever done a photoshoot with my dolls.
So, while I haven't taken any photos of myself with the dolls in a like actual photoshoot way, I do plan to. I've done an occasional selfie with a few of them, but those are very rare photographs and never get posted anywhere. On the other side of the coin, I own a lot of clothing that belongs to a niche Japanese street fashion that dolls look good in too. I have several dolls who I like to dress in the aesthetic and I would love to dress up in my frills with them and do a photoshoot together. Never have I ever made a doll based on a real person.
I haven’t made a doll based on a real person, but I have had dolls based on characters from shows. Most of the dolls I’m drawn to are fantasy and mythology based, I’m actually in the process of bringing home a boy who would be based on the witcher( so not a real person, but a fictional character played by a real person?) so I guess that’s the closest I’ve gotten.. Never have I ever… had a haunted doll!
Me neither. They do sometimes seem to almost have a will of their own, but nothing supernatural. Never have I ever bought more than two dolls from the same company.
Hmm more than two? I guess I haven't either, at least whole dolls. (Heads yes) Never have I ever made an agora wig.
I’ve tried to make wigs in the past but never really enjoyed it, I didn’t use angora fibre though however I have had commissioned wigs made of angora. Never have I ever owned a doll smaller than 40cms.
I got lots of tinies! Half my collection are under 40cm. What I love about the teeny tiny ones are they are pocket sized. I take my realpuki with me on vacation lol Never have I ever sanded a doll to change their features.
