I have nine of them. They only represent a fraction of my collection by now, so I had to do a mental inventory. Never have I ever...bothered with foot blushing on a doll.
not *blushing* persay, but i did paint pawpads on a dolls foot once. Never have i ever.... used fancy faceup supplies, like msc or prismacolors
I've used MSC, but I don't think my pastels or watercolors are anything special! Never have I ever tried making shoes for my BJDs.
I have! One of mine has a pair of felt boots I made. I've been meaning to make more of them. Never have I ever made eyes for a doll.
*Looks over at the batch of homemade resin eyes stuck on the frame of the other computer monitor/TV* Yeah, I've certainly tried my hand at it. Even made a couple successful pairs. Although a majority are—defective... Never have I ever...had a desire to own an uber skinny bjd like Pasha Pasha or Popovy.
I really like some of the super skinny Doll Chateau bodies and wouldn't mind one eventually, don't have any yet, though. Never have I ever been bored with a doll I own.
I have also never made a dress for my BJD! Though that is entirely because I only own one BJD, and she is painted in such a way that she doesn't need clothes! Though, my next dolls that are coming in the mail will have dresses that I'll make for them! Woohoo! Never have I ever... messed up a faceup! (because I haven't done one yet) XD
I don't think I've messed up doing a faceup (not too badly anyways) but Hazuki's faceup might be staining slightly around her wig. Never have I ever sold a BJD or BJD related item second hand.
I sold my Azariah (Granado Udell Vindoll) yesterday because the material vinyl really disagreed with me (photography and faceup difficulty), and now I'm looking to reshell him in one of Rugged Realism's upcoming dolls... (seriously, I just found out about this artist and her work is awe-inspiring) Never have I ever owned a doll with jointed hands.
Never haha. Been tempted plenty though... Never have I ever used a shopping service to buy BJD stuff.
I've never broken one, but I have had one come with a cracked leg, and one with a slightly chipped ankle. Never have I ever, done an extended lay-away for a doll.
Neither have I. I don't do lay-aways at all. I prefer to just pay for it all at once. Never have I ever owned an SD sized doll.
Me neither! I originally was planning to collect MSDs though haha. Never have I ever made eyes for my BJDs.
I only have one doll, and I got her second hand. She has custom face up that made me go, yes, there's my girl Never have I ever... gone to an outdoors BJD meetup.
I went to an outdoor meet once It was way out of my comfort zone but also very fun! Never have I ever brought my doll to a doll/anime related convention.
I have! It was fun seeing all the dolls, and people were so nice about mine. Never have I eve sewn a complete outfit for my doll.
I know how to sew but my sewing skills are very limited so... no I have never sewn a complete outfit Never have I ever met another BJD hobbyst/enthusiast in person.
I have, my best friend who I met online got me into BJD, we meet once or twice a year, I even impose on her BJD group some times. Never have I ever accidentally broke a piece of my doll
I have. Kit has a crack in one finger from when I broke it, and Ephemera has a little piece broken off one of her wings. Never have I ever done a major modification project.
I’ve never done even a minor doll modification project! Never have I ever traded a doll for another doll.
Never have I ever attempted to faceup my bjds. I want to one day soon. Saving money is definitely a plus from doing it myself lol.
I have made my own eyes, my Iplehouse Leonard right next to me is actually wearing a custom set (though I plan to make him another at some point) Never have I ever owned a Yo-SD sized doll. My collection basically goes from 40 cm to 70 cm at the moment
I have one yosd doll! He’s a full set Volks character doll, and probably the only character doll I’ll ever own and possibly the only yosd. I need to restring him (which I’m dreading) so he’s currently just chilling in his box. never have I ever sculpted a doll, bjd or otherwise
I have! I made a grey jointed gargoyle-like ball jointed semi-humanoid creature out of polymer clay and strung him with elastic. His shoulders cracked from the stress of being strung and I haven't figured out how to fix them yet. Making him gave me a whole lot more respect for BJD sculptors. Never have I ever bought a BJD in person.
I bought BJDs in person, once at a Volks Dolpa, and once at Tenshi no Sato. It was an odd sensation, getting a doll the same day I paid for her. Never have I ever bought a male doll.
Yeah that's not me at all: seven of my eight are male and I have... three more planned The three dolls I'm currently waiting to ship are all ladies though so they'll even the field... a little lol. I like my guys! Never have I ever done a photo story!
Never have I ever had a male doll. It is not that I don't like them..I have seen really cool male bjds but I just don't see myself adding them to my collection.
I've did a photo story when my girl's body arrived. I want to do more, but it's a lot of work, lol. Never have I ever won a doll contest or raffle.
I kind of have. Not for BJD, but I've won a couple giveaways for OOAK Monster High dolls. Never have I ever... spent more than $500 on a single blank doll.
I have. It’s a loongsoul doll god of water. Still in the making progress. I have been in love with that doll for years and I am finally going to get him! Never have I ever went to a BJD meetup.
I have! Once! My introverted hermit self hasn't yet been able to psych myself up enough to go to another one Never have I ever commissioned a face-up artist.
Neither have I. I'm hoping maybe if I just keep doing them myself I'll eventually figure out how to make them look half decent. Hasn't happened yet, but you know... On a related note, never have I ever painted/faceuped an open mouthed sculpt.
Neither have I, though I'm working on making a singing Shiwoo faceplate for my avatar, Wiishu, so this is temporary. Never have I ever sold anything doll related.
I got company faceup for both my dolls. It depends on the companies I guess, some companies got their promo photos done with really famous artists. And the optional company faceup never met the same standard. So it depends a lot on the companies you ordered from. But I do think it is great for beginners to get the company faceup if the company is reliable. There is a risk sending your doll to someone else, and as a beginner there are a lot to learn in order to tell who is a good makeup artist. Never have I ever...gotton a satisfying wig for my doll. Yes it have been more than three years and I am still in the desperate searching for an ideal wig
I just managed this recently after having made him 3 other wigs that I wasn't pleased with (I'm not the best, but I'm generally satisfied with my own work) and from Amazon of all places. $15 and it's sleek and soft and arrived on my doorstep in a single day. But then, the character it was for doesn't really have a very particular hairstyle--I just needed to clip some of it back and bam, perfect. Never have I ever... Attended a public meetup at a non-doll convention. I'd love to, but there doesn't seem to be much interest where I am and then 2020 happened.
I have! I've only been to smaller meetups, but I just love the atmosphere. There's all these people, most of who have never met each other before, and everyone's talking about doll related stuff like we've known each other for ages. But yeah... then 2020 happened. But we've just now started to plan a picnic-style meetup, outdoors with masks on and keeping a 2 meters distance to each other. The covid situation in our area has been calm for a while now (today there were only 27 cases reported in the whole country). Really looking forward to that! Never have I ever owned a doll that was not second hand.
Meanwhile, both of mine I bought direct from Dollzone. Back before they would only do dealings with reps. Threw me off when I got back into the hobby earlier this year and you can only buy through reps for them now. So, I guess never have I ever bought a second hand doll.
I have! My first was actually secondhand. I wanted a Doll Chateau Isabel or Medusa, but wasn’t too thrilled about the wait times or the price. I was saving anyway, so when a secondhand human Grace popped up on EBay with box/certificate, her default full set, and a decent price, I got her instead. No regrets. Everything looked right, I didn’t think Grace is that popular to recast (at least the human one) and the listing explicitly said that she was legit, so it seemed safe to buy her. Never have I ever sold a doll.
I have! Quite a few. Once sold one to an old friend for $15, a candy bar, and a Harry Potter tie XD Never have I ever put my doll in a body of water. (Strung)
Me neither! Though I have posed one on a bathroom sink faucet once. And next to a drink a few times. Leon gets put all sorts of (relatively safe) places for photos. He's the Puki Puki who travels with me. Never have I ever been to a BJD convention, though I'd love to.
I've been to a few! And with things getting back to normal I hope to go to a few more! Never have I ever spent four figures on a doll.
Same for me here. The highest I ever went was for my King Corey, who was $650-700 (or somewhere thereabouts). Never have I ever...participated in a split order.
I have NEVER participated in a split order either, although I do enjoy looking at them. I'm usually too late. Never have I ever.... Spent over $200 on a single doll outfit.
I came really close at $180 for one, but also it was a discontinued Volks x h.NAOTO set and Arkas looks gorgeous in it and I regret nothing. Never have I ever... purchased an artist doll (e.g. Danni by Rap1993).
I have! I have a super cute Villitunes Mimi-chu in the Blueberries color and she is just the cutest. Never have I ever dyed a doll. It looks really interesting but it scares me.
I have not Dyed a doll eiiither. Thats some scary stuff. BUT I do want to try some day! Never have I ever...had a doll break a finger/toe/ear tip. *knocks on wood immediately* I hope it stays that way too!
I have unfortunately. I try to laugh about the fingers, but being favorites, I still kick myself. I do not like broken fingers or anything visible. I'll knock on wood so I can avoid it. Never have I ever.........fallen in love with a fur wig. I don't mind them but they are so hard to style. I rarely even see brown ones.
I fell in love with alpaca wig (fur too, isn't it?) and despite its defects, it's wonderful! And baldness over time. Never have I ever...photographed my dolls so that I am 100% satisfied with the result.
I Never have either. I eventually hate every picture I take too. Never have I ever...FULLY COMPLETED A DOLL. They're all missing something.
