miep is very cute. sometimes hats suit the tinies better than wigs i find. a few of mine only wear hats, so far at least

 

Thank you all for miep' compliments - her noggin is too cute to cover up, and until I find the right wig for her she'll probably stay bald & beautiful. I'm finding that her name does suit her, especially since it means beloved.

 

There's a new iMda Timo, Wandoo, up on the site. He looks like a boy to me and has a very characterful face.

He's shown with what appears to be Tokki but with rabbit paws and feet.

PS The special set has been posted since I wrote this. They ARE the gardeners from 'Alice' as I expected. Dong A Lim is sculpting more 'Alice' dolls though I'm a bit confused by the Korean-English translation: Wandoo as 'Soldier' and another as 'Trump'.

 

I think the rabbit is just a prop. It was used in the Amelia pictures also.

 

the rabbit was sold as tokki but is currently sold out. maybe they are going to release him again with this timp?

 

the suggestion of merging the threads is generating a lot of talk on the 3.0 thread, so i wanted to give everyone a chance to state their opinion before we change anything. i managed to get the poll up with the 4 options that have been suggested. i have left it open for 2 weeks to give everyone time to weigh in . please go there and vote on what we should do, and feel free to comment in the discussion as to why you chose what you did.

 

so far the only thing everyone has agreed on is the need for a what fits thread, so i started one of those and it looks like all the size threads will be remaining separate. (discussion and poll is still open for another week though if you haven't had a chance to give your opinion) any way the new what fits thread is here and i'm trying to get a link to it added in the first post of each thread

 

I really appreciate you organizing all of this, auntbear. I voted, and I sure hope everyone else will vote, too, if they haven't already. That way we can truly see how everyone feels. I was sure hoping that everyone would want to combine the threads, but I understand the majority rules.

 

No, actually Tokki has Cutie arms, legs, and body. The head and ears are similar.

 

I missed the post about Wandoo; I guess I was reading about the poll to merge the threads. Anyway, I just discovered Wandoo tonight on the Soom site and ordered one! I love the little Dubu I have and still hope to get Yuja when released again.

Thanks. I wish the thread was more active. I'll admit I don't post much but I certainly enjoy reading and looking at the pics.

 

I wish it were, too, but I have to admit that I don't contribute as much as I would like to either. I really enjoy seeing everyone's pics, but I am terrible about taking pics myself. Maybe things will pick up soon.

this thread is actually not doing too bad considering there aren't very many sculpts out and they have each only been available briefly. i'm am on a couple of threads that only get posts weeks apart... or even months! that said, i've been bad about posting pics of any of my dolls this year, family matters mean i'm mostly just lurking or commenting. my poor three timps are still waiting for wigs and and chester needs a face up. but we are finally getting some warmer weather here so i'm hoping soon

Me too. It doesn't help that I travel for work & I am usually in a hotel or airport. When I am home I don't have much time for taking pics. I am usually getting ready for the next trip out.

 

timps are easy to take with you. a hard sided sunglasses case makes a great travel case, then they are easy to slip into your purse, my smaller dolls take turns going on trips with me that way.

 

I'm in love with Imda Timps since the first Dubu release, but SOOM waiting times always scare me a lot X_X. Now I'm doubting about Wandoo, I think that he/she is the one with more asian-alike eyes, and I like that so much... Need to take a decission soon!!

P.S.: the rabbit in Wandoo pictures is different to Tokki (Tokki is fully jointed and with human hands and feet, the other rabbit not), so hope they release it, it's very cute!

The waiting times don't really scare me too much. I have waited 6 months for Doll Chateau and Dollzone.

auntbear - I have traveled with my dolls on vacation but not when I am working. Maybe something to consider!
Yukari - I don't mind wait times so much because I typically buy my dolls on layaway. My longest wait time was for my tan LTF.

I just recently found these dolls. How likely is it that the company will offer another Dubu or Yuja in the future? Thanks for any help.

 

I almost resisted, but I ordered Wandoo on the last day.

JCee, most of the iMda dolls do get offered again. Soom listens to customer wishes, so you should ask on the Q&A board.

Hi.. I am new in here, just wandering if Soom Timp face up easily crack up? Mine just fell and her lips colour seems to be fade a bit. Wander how to fix it?

i can't answer about the durability of the soom faceups since i do my own, but if you want to brighten the lips you could brush on a tiny bit of colored pastel and then set it with a quick shot of msc spray. you'll need to cover anything you don't want to dull like eyes eyelashes etc when it's dry a tiny dab of semi gloss varnish to shine the lips up again should fix it. alternatively you could mix a bit of the pastel directly into the varnish and carefully brush it on in thin coats. either way you'll need a tiny brush to keep the color where you want it but it's a fairly easy fix if you have any faceup experience.

 

Thank you auntbear, she somehow slipped from my hand and abit of it seems to be pale off or its might be from them, I am not sure too. I just notice it after she fell. I have no face up experience at all. so if I brush a bit on the lips that pale off, what kinda varnish I should use? she still have the shiny part only the pink is not even on the left side. I am very particular with that hahaha

 

just the water soluble craft varnish that you can pick up in any craft store or most department stores here. i can't give you actual brands 'cause i'm not sure you would have the same ones, but i've used several different kinds and they all seem to work. just look for something that says satin or semigloss to get the right shine.

i don't know, i've never tried that. does it air dry or do you have to bake it? you would need air dry. if not you should be able to find a small bottle of the right varnish for a couple of dollars so it isn't a huge investment at least.

 

yes. its air dry one Maybe I should try using that or I can get Tamiya Enamel (I think that what soom use). True.. Thank you. I am so relieved now, cos she seems abit off on right side, lesson learned, never drop them at all ><

 

good lesson to learn. just be thankful she only chipped her faceup, that is at least an easy repair, and something that is expected to happen over time. a chipped or broken doll is a harder fix!

 

phew.. but that already cause me can't sleep well last night, I keep on thinking on sending her to re face up but I love her default face up so much >< Soon I will share her pic here she is one of my favourite now and think will be more to come XD

He's a fennec fox. It's right under his name on the first picture in very pale and hard to read color.

Hi everyone! I have a Dubu coming next week. Is the difference between Dubu and Yuja just the eye shape?

 

The face is the only difference. The lips and eye shape are different. Here's a picture of my kids:
