Both Monikas are gorgeous - I'm so glad I have one on order. I'm also thrilled that I could order another Agatha - I sold my limited edition because I wasn't using her outfit or wig and it seemed a waste when someone else would appreciate the full set.

Thank you! You should share your Natassa too 😉 Sometimes when I'm too busy with my work.. I tend to pay less attention to my dolls too... but looking at other's doll pics kind of boost me again 😄

 

I actually posted 2 pics of my Natassa when I first got her. They are post #121, but I'm not sure which page that is, I forgot to look I think she'd like the attention of a new photo shoot...

By the way, did you all know that Kaye' Wiggs's Tobi fits into Soom/Angel Region's clothes for Natassa?

I'd like another Natassa but at least I got my shipping notice this morning for my blank Agatha, Monika and Amellia (and teddy!) I prefer to combine shipping because of the way Parcelforce charge for dealing with customs on top of the actual tax.

Thanks for that. I completely missed it but now I know to check the 5.2 section if another limited 5.2 is released. Luckily I already have Monica sisters ( both still away for faceup).

 

I had forgotten about her as I didn't like the FS painting or outfit, but I just happen to check the site at the right time! So a blank Monika will be coming here to join my Natassa! I would like a Laureen also!

 

Congratulations. I have to make a special effort for these sales as they come up in the middle of the night in England. This wasn't too bad at midnight but I wasn't very well so had to go to bed early but checked when I woke up. I'd like another Natassa and possibly another Laureen - though I have 3 off for face-up (Monika x 2 and Agatha) with another Agatha waiting so I'm not short of iMda 5.2s.

I expected the full set to be too expensive for me - and it was.

 

My Agathe is going to be shipping back to me from the faceup artist this coming week. I am so excited! ----->

They are both white. I also have two Monikas (Snow White and Rose Red) with Caroline too and an older Laureen that I bought with one of her face ups at home.

I'm new to DoA in general, and this is my first post. But, I have a limited Monika (NS) 5.2 full set on order now. I'm super excited to get one of the limited dolls, and can't wait. She'll be my first iMda. I've read a few posts on this thread, and wanted to know if anyone has done a comparison between the early 5.2s and the more recent ones? Have they been able to sit any better? Also, can anyone post any pics of the steam punk full sets if you've been able to get one? Thanks!

Hi Hilary, do you have any pictures of your Agatha with her LE outfit on before you sold it? And, was your LE Agatha the steam punk version? I love the stock photos of their steam punk LEs, but want to see some non-stock LE pics also .

That is Camille's collection of photos for the various iMdas she owns, and the outfits she makes for them. Camille is the designer/maker of the 3 limited outfits for the LE Monika (CW) 5.2 full set at SOOM. She's taken some amazing pictures and did a fantastic job with her dolls and doll stories . There are also a couple showing the full set Monika (but not with the full set/stock photo wig). Anyway, thought someone might enjoy these also, if someone hadn't posted this link yet at any rate!

Hey guys. I've got a question. I have a Monika on layaway but I can't figure out how much I have left because I don't know how to log in and check out the order page on the dollsoom websites and its affiliated sites. Where is the log in menu?

Go onto the Neo-AngelRegion site, click the Login menu item on the top menu bar ((second - across from the logo, next to Home), login then click the Order Status on the same bar to find the details.

 

The login menu won't show up in Safari. I have to use a different browser for the menu to show up. If it's not there for you, try a different web browser.

There are blank Natassa's available on Soom!

 

They're available in normal or cream white skin until midnight 24th (Korean time). It doesn't look as if they're limited except by the short period. I'm quite pleased because I've been asking the artist if they could be released this way as it's so hard for people across the world to buy them when they're very limited in number (I usually have to set my alarm clock for the middle of night in England).

I've ordered one in normal skin.

 

Thanks for requesting a timed release for us! I ordered one in white skin. Could you see if they have plans to release Laureen? It would be nice if there was a faceup option, but that doesn't stop me buying!

 

I also set my alarm clock very early in the morning (4am) for buying my Monika. It's much eassier if they offer their dolls this way, short open period but not limited in quantity.

As far as I can understand (we're using online translation which can be quite bizarre) there are no plans to release Laureen within the next 18 months.

However Lim Dong A is planning to release a NEW face for the 5.2 next year!

I mentioned that I had to restring all my 5.2s as they were so loose and she will try to fix this along with any other problems we have with the body. If you have any particular problems you'd like me to pass on then post them here and I'll summarise them.

I'll also mention that we would like a face-up option, if possible.

 

A new face sounds wonderful! I asked about Laureen and the faceup option on the Q&A board. So we shall see! Soom moves in strange ways. I'll get Monika out and see what comments I have on the body!

 

My Limited Steam Punk Monika (NS) arrived while I was on vacation!!! So, just got it yesterday. I've taken so many photos already . And, this is my first iMda doll, and she's the 5.2. I haven't noticed the floppiness that a lot of people noticed. She's actually quite well strung. So, I don't know if Lim Dong already tweaked the bodies or not like I've heard, but my doll arrived in great condition. And, I love the outfit and style Muikahaco put together . I'll post many pics, I'm sure, but here are a few!

Congratulations! She's lovely. I have two no-option Monikas - one bought from Soom and the other 'rescued' from ebay - who are based on the fairytale characters Rose Red and Snow White and on the style of illustrator Nicoletta Ceccoli. I only got them back from face-up a few weeks ago.

I spoke to Lim Dong A about the bodies on 11th December. I had to knot the main strings on all my no option 5.2s four inches or more below the initial knot so I was taking at least eight inches out of the total length.

 

I'm glad Ms. Dong listened to everyone's advice then, about the stringing and looseness problems. And thanks Hilary, I'm glad you like my girl and the pics!!

 

I missed the last ordering period and wondered if there is any information on when another order period for this size will be? I seem to have lost interest in every thing but the 2 Imdas I have managed to get (so far)

 

There is a new sculpt due sometime this year - I don't know when but as most of the others I was told about have been released I'm hoping it won't be too long.

My normal skin Natassa arrived on Saturday and I'm quite disappointed. She came with a broken hand. Soom asked for a photo which I thought was a bit unnecessary as they can see I contacted them the same day. I'm also concerned that a new hand won't match. My Amellia is pale normal, Fepe is quite a lot darker and Natassa's head matches Fepe but her body is a bit darker/redder (not massively so and it's hard to photograph but it is a disappointment ).

 

Sorry about the broken hand! I think they need the pictures for the insurance company. At least you don't have to send it back!

 

I hate to disturb a thread that isn't already quite busy and I'm new here, I feel a bit conspicuous, but I adopted Melacacia's Agatha recently from the MP after having been in love with her since I first saw her on Flickr. After a week of woking things out, finding clothes, touching up her face and replacing lashes, waiting (impatiently) for her wig, she's ready to introduce. I usually rename my dolls but 'Agatha' is so perfect, I'm keeping it.
Thanks everyone! I adore her, even her posing, which is much better than I expected, I haven't mastered standing her though, she's string pretty loosely.

Your Agatha is beautiful! I agree that her name is perfect for her - one of mine whom I had painted in the style of the original "Little Hope" also kept the name.

I finally got the replacement hands for my Natassa - after an awful lot of hassle. Not only weren't they replying to my messages on the board (at one point there were 4 pages of answered posts ahead of me) but I ended up having to send the broken hand back along with her certificate before they'd send me a replacement. Considering that she'd only just arrived (with a broken hand) I'm still pretty upset.

PS The Neo-AngelRegion site uses a Flash menu which is why it doesn't show up in some browsers. It's not the browser itself that's the problem - it's the fact you need to download specific versions of Flash for various browsers. (I discovered that when we had to rebuild my computer recently - I have four different browsers because I need to test websites).

 

I love your Agatha! Love how you've styled her. Everything is so perfect for her very adorable sculpt. Congratulations on your girl!

She's finally on her way I'm so excited. She is earlier than expected. She shipped the day after I finished paying the layaway! I have to go find a wig and eyes for the poor baldie.

 

Congratulations! I would love to see a picture of the blank head! I think she looks pretty, but I didn't like the faceup Soom gave her!

 

She's already in the US! I'll post a photo when she gets here. Do any of you have suggestions on where to find a wig for her giant noggin?

I'm kind of curious as to whether you think the 5.2 would be considered MSD or SD size? I have Laureen and she's definitely much smaller than my SD size girls (although with a similar head size), but bigger than my MSD size. She's kind of similar in size to my Dollstown Soyu on the elf body. But is that considered SD or MSD? I welcome your opinions!

I would like to ask the people who have recent 5.2 dolls if they can get them to stand? It seems like it got better at some point, but I'm not sure how conclusive that was.

 

I've got a limited 5.2 Monika fullset, and she is well strung and stands fine . I find she needs help sitting up though when she's sitting. She needs to lean against something. She's a lovely doll, but I wouldn't recommend her if you love posing dolls and putting them in different positions. She's single jointed.

 

@marci12 I'm happy to hear it, thank you so much! To me, standing is more important than sitting. And overall I prefer a simple construction. I wonder if they actually changed the body, or if it was a stringing issue.

@marci12 The Imda fullsets are really impressive. I can only wonder where the clothing designers are coming from ;-) I was tempted to enter the last 5.2 lottery. I cannot imagine a better treat than receiving a _complete_ doll with an elaborate outfit, as opposed a blank head here, and a nude body there :-)

 

Yes, the fullsets are stunning . Most of the clothing designers are Japanese.

 

My Sophia will stand, but she's not terribly stable because her head is so big. She is well strung, and not limp like the earlier ones were reported to be. I have no problems with sitting as long as she can lean against something.
