Narae/Narin 43/44cm Mini Discussion Part 7

@nancy_schroeder_ca , thank you so very much for taking the time to answer, this is great news. Really, you are an angel to give me some hybriding advice as well - can you read my mind?^^ Because I was secretely wondering if Supia would work, I love their bodies so much. I would be overjoyed to see my quest for Narae come to a happy ending after all these bad experiences.

 

I don't have easy access to the parts anymore so no photos, but the hands looked awkward to me. They technically fit in the socket at least. He posted photos recently of his jointed hands and I assume they are similarly sized. You can judge for yourself if those proportions bother you and ask him if the magnetic ones are the same size ball.

The feet were a total lost cause though. They would not even stay in the ankle socket unless they were pointing directly down (as in soles parallel to calves) as that let the hook slide into the groove on the feet and made for the least tension on the elastic. Any other position and they just snapped out of joint.

 

How do layaways work when buying these dolls? I see where it says you can pay two or three times, but can’t find any info on how the whole process works...

 

You would have to send a message on the website with your Order number and let Bimong know that you would like to do a layaway for your order, he would then send you a invoice with Paypal each month.

 

There is a payment option on the more expensive items now I did look back at a layaway I did and he did sent invoices.

How long does Bimong keep his dolls up for sale? I saw the listing for the Narae basic set and really like it, but need to save up another month first before starting payment. I couldn't seem to find where he says how long the listing would last on instagram or on the site?

 

Can anyone recommend sites where I might be able to purchase a kimono for my MSD Narae

 

Alice's Collections or maybe Etsy for MSD size clothing, seems like Minifee size might fit our Narae, but I have not tried any outfits yet, been busy working and had no dollie time.

Hey everyone I haven't been active on DoA for a while and I'm sure this has been asked and I just cant find it.

Does the new high heel feet from bimongs shop fit the old narae (dstoric) resin match is not an issue for me.

 

I don't think they will, from what I saw on his website they are magnetic like Fairyland's Minifee. There is no S hook.

 

The magnetic feet are on the newest fusion body. There were regular feet with hooks on the prior bodies. I have some Art-Bimong heels and a D-Storic body but I haven't had time to try them yet.

 

I know you can add the ball of the foot as an option thats why im asking

 

also If they dont fit what are some good high heel feet for the narae?

 

The new magnetic feet don't fit at all on the limited edition body, which I believe takes the same size feet as the older bodies. It's way too large. They only work with the newest bodies which I believe are made to be compatible with minifee sizes. It was very disappointing to receive them having been told they would fit and have them not fit at all.

 

Can anyone who owns the Fusion body tell me what this measurement is (from chin/base of neck to the middle of the palm)? I'm waiting for the body to arrive, but I'd like to order a violin for her

So I finally have some time and went to put on my Dandelion head but the backplate holes aren't lining up. Would it be better for me to try and 'shave' off some of the metal bar (old Narae style) or try to take off some resin? I've never played with the resin so it scares me to death. TIA for suggestions.

UPDATE: I used a rasp and filed the metal bar down by hand to fit. Took about 1 hours but success.

I recently ordered a Narin 401 head from Bimong as he had some in stock. I haven't received tracking but he sent me a photo of the box and it's being shipped with EMS so I'm hoping it won't be too long before he's home! Lately I've been wanting to bring home some sculpts that I've always felt huge nostalgia for, so Narin is a part of that I can't wait for him to arrive!

 

I’ve regretted selling my light tan Narae 410 on the old fusion body ever since I did it, but I lost my job at the beginning of COVID and I had very few options but to sell my collection. Since then I’m doing better and I just recently purchased the same doll but in normal, and I’m so over the moon excited and ready to design her faceup 2021 has had its moments but overall it’s shaping up to be a better year!

I'm hoping Bimong will be able to finish the Narin msd body this year, it'd be great to have a Narin too. I'm playing with a thought of getting another Narae in the future, normal maybe, but as mine is light tan I might as well go with the new tan with another girl...

 

@xaya I am at a point where I just want all the beautiful resin color options Bimong has available. I have a light tan n402 girl on the old body, a new tan 41cm fusion body for a hybrid, a new normal 41cm n401 girl, and a milk choco 38cm fusion body n40s girl. I love every single resin color so far.

 

RIGHT THOUGH? I have an older MSD Narin and I’m dying to get him a buddy.

 

I recently received my Limhwa body (I had to order a full Limho Mono, for the body) and put my Narin head on it! It's such a great match, proportion and colour wise. Can't wait to get him some clothes!

I just came here to capslock about the same thing!! 45cm boy coming soon!!!! I’ve had my Narin for 2-3 years and he’s single jointed and I LOVE him, but I’m SOOOOO excited for the new body. Now to decide if I’m only replacing one, or upgrading a body for one and buying a brother for him in addition lol.

 

I had a french resin Narin in the past for a while but I sold him, now I want to have him again and I'm waiting to see which heads will be available and if the boy will have as much hand options and more than one pair of (flat) feet.

Also, I just thought about changing Bree into a three piece torso body, so I had to ask if the current light tan is different from the early 2020 one. Bimong said it was a bit different as he changed the casting company. I don't mind a slight difference in colour but I'm really tempted to buy another girl and just switch the faceplates so that Bree would still be Bree in the other body and I'd have another girl with different faceplate in her original one. ^^; Bimong had posted about girls he's gonna sell in his site during the weekend, all were new normal skin and lilac (?), I'm waiting to see if there's any light tans updated too.

 

Just put down a layaway on a Cocoro on the 38cm body. I’m so excited for her.

 

@dxgirly Congratulations! I'll be waiting for the new normal later on when he has another batch of those. How did you choose the body or was it fixed already when you decided to go with Cocoro?

I'm waiting for the tans, if he has one in light tan that interests me. I'm not sure about the heads, I want her with different face plate than Bree but can't decide which if there's chance to choose.

 

He was the one who messaged me actually, because I had asked a few weeks prior how to order one of his dolls these days, and expressed my interest in a Cocoro. So he reached out today and said he had some dolls available. I asked if he had any Cocoro heads, because he hadn’t listed those in his Instagram post, so he went and found one and took a pic of it with body pieces. Then he asked which torso configuration I wanted and which bust size, and I guess I just lucked out, because it worked out perfectly. I’m so happy! If he hadn’t messaged me, I wouldn’t have even realized she was available!

 

Ah fantastic, you were lucky I think. Great that he remembered you being interested! Maybe I should tell him too which head I'd prefer if he will have in the tan batch.

// EDITED: I asked him and since he doesn't offer light tan anymore, I can't buy another doll in that colour and switch the heads. Too bad I got exited about that already since he didn't say that the light tan is not offered anymore in the first message. *sigh* Well, need to do more thinking as I wouldn't want to change Bree into different colour, it would mean I should ask custom artist to replicate the face up to new face plate and I feel a bit iffy about that. I have no idea how it would make them feel.

 

Yay, I also snagged a 38cm body!! I chose a Mindulrae head however. Those 41cm bodies sold out in an instant but I am grateful I got one at all. I hope I will be fast enough for Narin 45cm

@malvinas Thanks for the comparison. I like Milk choco and new tan, both would work for me as well as the new normal. I'm exited about Narin too and waiting for his body to be finished at some point. I hope it will be October so I'm getting ready for him.

I'll get another Narae N402 from one of the later sales this year, Bimong had sold all tan 402 heads already so I'll need to wait until he has the combo I want. Luckily my fav face up artist also showed me a green light when I asked if they could do the face up of my doll on another head. I'm hoping maybe to find different head for the older light tan body later, as it would be great to have another faceplate for it.

 

Hi all!

I’m having a bit of trouble with all the bimong headsculpts, the number names seem to make it really difficult to track down infomation. The DOA reference page on Bimong isn’t super up to date and doesn’t have pictures so I thought I’d ask you all.

I’ve been looking for a mature mini boy sculpt with a mouth that is smirking or can be painted into a smirk. Not too ‘anime’ but not too realistic. I’ve seen some good Narin sculpts for this but I’m getting confused with the differences between the sculpt narin ‘classic’ and narin 401? Are they the same or different?

There seems to be quite a few discontinued Narin sculpts and not many Narin owners to ask.

All these sculpt names are hurting my brain!!!

 

They're very similar but not the same. The biggest difference is the jawline, which is more prominent on the 403 (marketed as 'classic'). Otherwise they're actually kind of hard to tell apart and I can't remember if there were differences in the eyes or mouth. I took comparison photos at one point, but can't for the life of me find them right now (and I don't own a 401 myself, my friend does, tho). They're definitely not like the Narae classic (402) and open eyed (404) that are very different in the eyes and mouth. I do think the 403 is slightly manlier because of the chin, but that's about it. They should both work for the same expression, regardless of which one of the two you get.

Ah I see, so they’re very similar but the “classic” is 403! Thanks for clearing that up, your replay was pretty helpful! I feel maybe the tips of the mouths are very slightly different but as you said it’s really hard to tell, I could just be making stuff up aha. It can be hard to find blank images for the ones that aren’t currently on bimong’s website.

I actually found your friends a few days ago because I want to hybrid a narin on a different mature body and they had a post about using the Soulkid body! (I was interested in possibly model delf but their soulkid match looks good!)

 

Oh Soulkid is a wonderful idea. I was thinking my Narin needs a brother but I’d like them to have different body types. Thanks for the tip!

@bliss5 I think the 401 head is a little more "delicate" than the 403 "classic" head. It seems almost like a hybrid between the female sculpts and the male sculpts to me. My 401 is actually a girl and comparing her to the blank picture of n403 that @Yenna posted her cheeks seem slimmer and her eyes are more narrow and less rounded I think.

I think the sculpts being so versatile definitely makes showing differences harder but I can see what you mean. Such a hard decision. Thanks for the reply!

I finally did a faceup for my 401 boy he doesn't have a name or a style or anything yet, I just knew I wanted to give him a black eye. I'm in love with how he looks on the Limhwa body!

 

I know it's been over a year, but can someone explain to me the differences of Bimong's classic and fusion bodies?

 

Classic is single jointed (?) with hook attatched hands as far as I know, and fusion are more engineered with double joints and magnetic hands. I hope others will tell if I got it wrong.

 

@MeiRain - @xaya is correct. The classic body is single jointed so doesn't pose as well. It also has the hook hands and feet. The fusion is much better articulated and has the magnetic hands and feet.
