Narae/Narin 43/44cm Mini Discussion Part 7

Bimong contacted me today via email and said my Dandelion heads are shipping!

 

I got my shipping notice via email for my March Dandelion heads order. But still no shipping notice for my Jan order.
Shouldn't he finish the Jan orders first??

 

I thought all the January orders were finished. I would contact Bimong; perhaps your order was lost in transit.

 

Depending on what you ordered, it may all be in one box.

Edit, l just notice you ordered the Dandelion heads and they get their own box. He might be shipping all the Dandelion heads first. It never hurts to ask.

 

My Jan order is still saying " Cannot Cancel ". I am just surprised that he even started the March order before he has finished the Jan order. Now there is going to be an April order next week. Will he start those before finishing the Jan order??

I'm pretty disappointed

I'm not on instagram. If anyone here is...... would you mind asking him when he is going to finish shipping the Jan orders, please?

Bimong has sent me an email and said my order will be sent next week YAY!!
It has been slower because of many parts. So he sent my heads first. I also have 2 sets of hands in that order.

Anyone totally set on ordering one of the classic revival dolls? I’m a bit ambivalent as I adore my 3 ‘rescue’ girls, but a violet narae is so dang tempting...

 

I love my Naraes! They are the best posers.
The one on the left was my first Narae, who was already yellow when I got her 8 years ago.
Butterfly Narae on the right is from the D-Storic 'End of Contract' Sale. I've been shooting a lengthy Artist series, using her as the Artist.

 

I have several originals and many that have been recued but I still want the restored bodies! And of course I will need a Narin head and ...

 

@rianne ; this is so true. This thread and the DollsTown mini thread are the nicest threads; people always helping each other. I have posted questions on other threads and get totally ignored!

I plan to order a classic Narae body to go with one of my Dandelion heads. The heads made it to the Chicago PO this morning so should be arriving tomorrow hopefully. Then they will be on the way to your spa!

 

@MB Lilac They really are the most gracefully designed dolls. I remember seeing this series of yours a while ago, and I've always been so impressed by all the little details!

@nancy_schroeder_ca Ahaha! This is my dilemma. I find rescuing old dolls deeply satisfying, but I am so very tempted by the renewed body + resin of my choice + sculpt/s of my choice. SIGH Does anyone want to spam their N40s girls? that's the plate that keeps calling to me, so I welcome enablers.

@coleen DANDELION. Haha, I adore that sculpt. If I wasn't so hooked on big dolls I'd have gotten all of the small versions too.

 

I will try to spam the N40S head. I am ashamed to say I have no pictures but four N40s heads! One was a rescue!

Here are my 2 Naraes, my original french resin 60cm girl named Selene and my N410 Octavia with faceup by @rianne . I was always into the SDs but now like the MSDs. They take up less space!

@MB Lilac I love seeing your dolls and the wonderful outfits and props you make. @nancy_schroeder_ca I would love to see all your Naraes.

Narae is the only doll that I have ever wanted multiples.

 

I got a lovely surprised this morning. My Dandelion heads arrived. BUT my 2 sets of hands are missing from the order
I know it's Friday 13th here, but I am disappointed again.

Nancy I have asked for your help again. I've sent you a message.

I think I am going to stick to rescue girls from now on.

 

@coleen, I have multiples of other dolls, but the Bimong offspring boarder on the ridiculous! I'm not sure if I could get them all dressed and wigged for a picture!

 

I think he sends the Dandelion heads separately. The hands will probably be shipped with the body. But I will check your message and contact Bimong!

That is my understanding, as the Dandelion heads are in the cedar box. The extra hands will ship with the doll. I ordered extra hands and feet and they came with my doll.

 

Yes, my cedar box contained just the two heads. I don't think you could safely pack two pairs of hands in there also.

On a positive note..... The heads are lovely and the cedar box is a real keepsake. Good for keeping Narae goodies in.

I still would love to order the new order classic body for Dandelion. I will think about it over the weekend. Otherwise she will
be body less.

 

If you can, I would recommend getting the classic body for her! She deserves it!

 

I would too. I like the new body for mobility as my Octavia is a ballerina. But I prefer the classic body for aesthetics. Also, my 60cm who has been sitting in a chair for a couple years was able to stand on her own for the picture. My new Narae, who was placed in bended knee positions and sitting for a couple weeks, cannot stand on her own. I had to use a stand. She needs to have her knees glue sueded. I know Bimong changed the knees on the January bodies.

 

Well, maybe you can just confess how many you have then. C'mon I hear confession is good for the soul!

 

@Kiwiana I imagine it's hard since you're not on insta, if I'm reading correctly, but Bimong is legitimately one of the most reliable and upright artists around. He handles a lot himself these days, so things are a little unusual process-wise, but I don't think you ever need to actually worry about your orders with him. This is a guy who fulfilled a ton of orders out of pocket when a scammer took advantage of people a few years back.

@coleen Agreed on the multiples. I've never wanted more than one of the same sculpt, but I have two n402s now. XD

@nancy_schroeder_ca YAY for n40s. The more I think about it, the more tempted I am.

Does anyone have any clue if the lilac is dark like the resin image or light like his original cyborg model for the new big girls? I should probably just ask him, I know, but I'm hoping there's at least one owner pic out there.

Does Bimong do layaway? If yes maybe I can swing it and get one from him. I truly love the Classic body.

Just put layaway in the order comments and he will invoice you for the first payment. It won't show an payment on the order status until you have paid in full.

 

Well I succumbed and ordered an N40s on the classic body in VIOLET RESIN OMG. Haha sorry for the excited yelling; I spent the morning agonizing, and now I'm all excited.

 

@rianne I can't wait to see what you do with the violet resin! And, will this be your first 40cm?

 

@coleen Thanks! Haha no, I have 3 40cm naraes. Both September and rowan are n402 and Tanit is an n404 (you can see them in my profile/sig)

Yeah, it's the classic dandelion head, so it's way out of scale with the regular 40 girls.

So after many years I'm finally going to order my 1st Narae!
I'm completely torn on which face sculpt to get. Does anyone know of any good comparison photos? I've done some searches with little luck. I'm going for a serious, slightly haughty look. Any suggestions?

 

I would look at the N416 ver 1 or 2 or maybe N414. N402, N404 and N412 are happy sculpts.

 

The Dandelion head(s) have a slightly haughty look. A little pricey, as they are limited edition, but worth the price as they come with a cedar box and cedar limited edition certificate. You get 2 heads.

Well it's the weekend here, now in NZ and still no shipping notice for my Jan order

I decided not to order the classic body. Just too many $'s spent already.

 

I finally decided on my sculpts I ended up getting;

Narin in olive skin with the new N401 2/3 head & Narae in dark tan with N416 v2 head.

I just got a email from Bimong, well I could not order a Narae this time, but I guess I have no choice starting in May 15-30 after the next pre-order he will be doing more scale model house design and occasionally a new body for Dandelion and head, feet and hands, but our beloved Narae small and large size is coming to a end. It is listed in the Notice section. I am definitely going to do right by my oldest doll and get her a new look.

 

There is a sadness in my heart to see the era end but I really do have enough Naraes and Narins to keep me busy! I almost placed another order at the end of this order period and will definitely be saving funds for May 15th!
