Narae and Narin 60cm Discussion part 2.

And uh oh! I totally only ordered the Narae heads and no bodies :P
Although Narae said they are going to improve the Narae40 bodies. Super excited!

 

I'm not sure where I saw it Flickr or IG, but I think he is considering offering the heeled and point feet other than just this pre-order.

 

I had a feeling he'd give in eventually!

 

I am so amazed at the sculptural beauty of the body. I want it! I'm unsure about the head. Does anyone have photos of an N60 head with their makeup? Or any other 60cm head with company faceup?
He seems to be saying that once we order the doll and pay, he'll ship it quickly. Is that the impression?
I can't wait to see them!

I'm getting more restless because of the fact that Bimong is shipping them so fast xD I keep checking every day for a status update but nothing yet! Eeeep I'm excited!

 

There's a new sweet announcement from Bimong - shipping will begin on Friday already. He really tries to keep his word, even though he got much more orders than he thought. I'm really happy, can't wait to see this girl in person. XD

 

I totally fell asleep at the wheel on this one. I was watching the progress like a hawk and then...the time blew by. Congrats on everyone whe got in on the first pre-order. I'll be waiting patiently for the next opening.

His message said they would start shipping on the 7th.

 

Right, in my excitement I mixed things up! Production started on Friday, not the shipping. Still, it's pretty quick!

 

It is really very quick! Remember they are only producing 2-3 per day! It is exciting though!

I don't suppose anyone has gotten a shipping notice yet?
His notice said he'd try to start shipping before christmas, but that probably means the end of this week.

 

Bimong wrote to me last Friday to say my order was ready to ship Monday, but then wrote again this morning (Monday) to say that the metal pins and hooks for her body are stuck at the factory that makes them, so it'll be a few more days.

Has anyone else had contact from him about their order? I thought it was really nice of him to write to me, instead of just updating my order page.

Poor guy sure is having trouble getting these girls on their way home, though! But I'm still very excited about mine. I am sure she will be worth the wait.

 

I heard from Bimong as well on the weekend, saying my girl would be shipped on Tuesday, but nothing more after that. The ordering page hasn't changed either. But on Instagram there's a pic of the first strung Narae, perhaps she's yours, littlegreythings! Exciting! It's so fascinating that Bimong let's you practically watch your doll being developed. He's so madly talented.

Has anyone else gotten an email from Bimong asking for their instagram? He sent me a thank you message after ordering. I thought it was really cute! Now I'm even more excited about my girl!

I just got a shipping notice for my order! Via email... and Instagram. XD With the holidays, I don't know how long she will take to get here, but I'm glad she's on her way at least. Really looking forward to her.

If I have the time I will post photos. But I don't think it will happen still this year. She'll definitely be stopped by customs and then it can take up to two weeks before I'll get her. And in holiday times like now maybe even longer. :/

He asked for my Instagram as well, to "give you all information quickly". I don't know wether about shipping or general doll news. As I'm not on Instagram I'll never know!

I had another email from Bimong with the tracking number too, the day before yesterday. That's two girls on their way, yay! I wonder which will arrive first! And I wonder how many on DoA ordered her?

 

He is asking for you to include your instagram on orders now. I ordered the new Narin 65 boy body and forgot to include it but put it on the paypal payment. He is now following me!

I ordered two new Narae 60 bodies, one tan and one normal skin. I had them on a short layaway, so I am probably near the end of the line!

 

My gorgeous Narae body arrived today! She's really phenomenal at posing. I'm getting my pictures together for a box opening, but for now here is my CP El girl on her new body:



I will have to do some modding to the neck to get her head to fit better, as expected, but I'm delighted with how good she looks on it so far.

Congrats on the arrival @littlegreythings ! Your girl is lovely.

You mentioned that you'd need to do some modding on the neck for a better fit - is it that the neck is to large or small; or is it the over all shape? Just curious.

Definitely will be looking forward to box opening pics. I've missed both pre-orders, so I'll be living vicariously for a while.

@mdonline03 Thank you! Regarding her neck, it does fit well enough right now that if I chose, I could probably leave it unmodded. But, I think it is a touch too long (her chin is shallower than the Bimong head) and I may make the neck overall just a little slimmer. But shorter definitely.


@mk13 Thank you! Her skintone is what I would call a pale normal, tending more to the yellow normal, but very pale to me. There is a hint of pink/peach to it, but much less than I am used to with CP dolls. She's a closer match to Volks than CP. I think someone would have an easier time getting a Volks head (or hands...) to match this doll than a CP. My old CP girl (from 2005) only does because her faceup is very pink-toned.

I posted this comparison picture in the box opening thread, but perhaps it may be useful to post here, as well. Hopefully that's okay.

I took it in natural light, and the colours are as true as I can get them with my limited photography and editing skills. The Bimong resin looks more pinky here than it appears to me in real life...

Yes. Bimong seems to be taking the Dollshe approach to pre-orders.
Narae60 was practically complete, but he made further changes AFTER the original sale period. Narae40 was about halfway (maybe even less, since it doesn't seem she's complete now!) and narin65 was "just trust me it'll be good"

Oh noes, that's a difficult road to go I loved Narin from the time he was just a Mini boy and only sold within Korea....- but there will be more preorders opening over time, won't there? After we've seen him finished?
Sorry, I'm afraid I don't quite get it, are there more Narin65 heads available than just the kissing one? (Will older Narin60 heads fit the new body anyway?)

So far I'll stay with my old Narin609 head on a Spiritdoll Elegance body I suppose...^^

 

There was a second pre-order for narae60, so we can expect there will be more pre-orders in the future for all his dolls!

I only saw one other narin head for sale at the same time. I think it used to be called Charisma. Surely it is compatible with the new body, but it might be worth asking Bimon directly.
Hopefully he will make more heads in the future

 

Thanks for your answer, Sahoma. Charisma was the monicker for the old Narin609 head. It would be great if it fits, but better ask if Bimong changed something about it in his reissue of the head, you're right.^^

 

I believe he said he was going to do pre-orders for the 60 cm dolls and the 40 cm dolls on alternating months. All the 60 cm heads should fit the new bodies. I did order the new male body on layaway since it isn't even finished yet! I can see why he's going the pre-order route, but hopefully he won't get as bad as Dollshe!

I bought the N609 Charisma head last year, so the new body is intended for him!.

 

I've got a question to those of you who paid through layaway: did your status update to "paid" after the first or last payment?

Guys, don't want to say too much since it's not really my place, but I just watched my sis unbox her Narae60, and I really think this bjd girl has the potential to become a future antique doll collectors' much sought after specialty a 100 years from now^^... she is unbelievable. Congrats to all of you who are getting her!

Now I can hardly wait for the 65 Narin body.

@Mandagore I would love to see pictures since the one person who's gotten one posted pictures with a dress on(d'oh!) So yeah, excited and waiting to see what that looks like sans clothing. The $100 white resin tax has kept me from getting one since the body is very expensive to begin with.

That doesn't sound so good about the current preorders. I hope Bimong can keep up with the pace he sets for himself. He's just so creative and doing such wonderful work!

As Mandagore said, my girl is home now, in one piece, which is a little miracle. I had big problems with light, so there aren't as many photos and as good ones as I'd like, but I've made an arrival thread if you'd like to look at them.

I agree. Maybe he wants to give everybody the chance to order their preferred size doll/body as soon as possible. Or he's bubbling over with ideas and creativity. But I assume it would be safe to wait for the next order period when there's more finished to see.

 

I just got my 58cm Narae today so thought I would share a photo. Amazing engineering in this body make her super posable. Excuse the hastily made garment from exam gloves as I was at work and had no real fabric. Now I really want the Narin and am sad I missed his preorder but hope to catch the next one.

 

Neat emergency "outfit"! It is a wonderful body! Mine is choosing eyes and then I need to find something for her to wear for her first pictures!

Congrats @Therealwalter and @hsifalissa , your Dandelions looks gorgeous! Wow, two tan beauties, that looks so yummy. I'm glad someone got them in tan, I imagined that would be lovely.

 

I am totally bummed that I missed this pre-order, then I saw the price......wow, but the design look amazing! I guess the older 60cm bodies were out dated or were the molds missing?

 

I find it interesting that it was exactly 10 years from the last availability of the old body. I remember there was a legal dispute between Narin Dolls and Bimong back then. Perhaps he lost the rights to the old body.

 

That makes sense, this new version is stunning!

I remember during the last months of Dollfair's dealership the old Narin60 body was supposed to be re-released with the old body. I had it pre-ordered, and some time later Df dropped out of the picture (2010, methinks?) and I was one of the lucky few who got a near complete refund. Then I remember there was talk that some of the molds had gone missing during the debacle, but it wasn't clear why. And since D-storic's dealership had begun (which ended equally horribly), Bimong had made plans to someday make a new Narin60. I am so happy to see it come true now, and with such a promising new body concept. ...Although I cannot possibly afford him now

 

Have you guys seen on bimong's instagram that the last dolls of the first pre-order are being shipped?

 

I got an email that mine will be shipped tomorrow. I had her on a short layaway and she has a faceup, so I am not surprised that she is one of the last shipped.
