Narae and Narin 60cm Discussion part 2.

I just adore my doll, but it bums me out that I can’t take her that out often. I’m too afraid of yellow. It’s kinda a pain, because I’m the kind of person who likes to have their doll out so I can look at them when I pass by. O’well it’s a good excuse for me to get a urethane doll. I’ve had my eye on unidoll Lily. I’m still a big fan of French resin, it look beautiful.
I don’t know if anyone else has this problem but another reason I keep her in the box, besides yellowing, is because she is so darn pretty she make me jealous at times. Yeah, I know, it’s odd.

 

anyone know anything about a possible new urethane order period?

Ive been creating a character based on a Narae but i refuse to buy a french resin one.

Im also looking for proper photo's of the Narae 60 faceplates.
Because i want to mod my girl a bit.. but now i can't even make plans because i can't really see the dynamics of the faceplates..
and the photo's are too small to photoshop... D:/

 

Naiara - check with Joan or Catrina of Dollfair about the urethane order issue. They will get right back to you. I, personally, have had no problems with the French Resin and I have had my two big girls for several months. But, then, I blush them and seal them three times with the Volks spray. Maybe that has helped to keep away any yellowing problems. Also, I do store them in the dark!

Yellowing go's trough msc.. and msc or what ever sealer you use yellows a bit itself.

But my Narae is gonna be a huge outdoor girl ... and french resin is simply to fragile for her chracter.
Because i wanna do some crazy shoots with her. ^__^" guess im just gonna need to wait a bit longer.

 

Just a qn for the owners, I've been looking for an answer to this for months but no luck. Has anyone a narin/narae in matte (pinky white or snow white matte) that they can compare to a Soom cream white? I just want to know which of the two skintones fits best. Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

sorry, the soom i have has yellowed, and may narea is in french. i'm thinking of ordering a girl in matte. French is pretty, but i never take her out b/c i don't want her to yellow and it bums me out.

Well I guess it is okay to leave links in our posts to guide us to the new thread where we can post our photos. It will take some re-training but it is do-able.

I hope everyone will continue to keep up on this thread and post photos on the other one. These dolls are just so beautiful, it would be a shame not to share your dolls with all of us.

I still have more outfits in the works for my two girls. I never thought I would be so into these big girls but as I keep saying they just pose so well and I love the more "grown-up" look you get with them.

 

So sad to see this thread slip away. Guess I will have to keep knitting and sewing away for my girls so this thread will not end up in the bottom of the pile.

I have another outfit to share that I did for my Ava (pinky white French resin, open eye). I truly enjoy these dolls. I must admit I need to focus on others for a while but I have more outfits in mind down the road, so "stay tuned"! And I am seriously thinking of a urethane version of this doll so she can be left out. I must admit having to hide them away in the box is not fun.

I wrote Joan at Dollfair and asked when the urethane resin would be available soon. She did not know when we could order it. I know many are concerned with the problem of French resin. I have not had any problems yet. I plan to enjoy my two girls as much as possible. I do keep them “in the dark” when I am not dressing them.

It will be a while now before I will be making other outfits for Alexa and Ava. I have my “little ones” to dress as well as a request for my version of the “Fit and Flare” sweater I did for Ava in the MSD size. And I have my Volks dolls that all want a change of clothes. I love them all and they are my therapy!!!

 

Ugh, does anyone have news about when they will come out with urethane. I’ve looked at the site, but I’m hoping that someone knows more then what the site say, some who is more in the loop than I am.
Dollswest, it bums me out too that these dolls aren’t as popular as I wish they were. I’m not in to anime looking dolls so I don’t like a lot of dolls that are posted on this site. Wish there were more pictures of big narae’s. I do plan to post more pics of my girl, I just that I haven’t finished with her new outfit yet. They really are worth every penny, and they have such wonderful expressive faces. When I have time and get enough dolls I would love to start a photo-story with all my big naraes one of these days.

Ghost Reflection - I wrote Joan at Dollfair and she did not know when they would be available to order. Then I read Catrina's post in the 43cm Narae thread. She said the company Narindoll was using for the urethane resin had financial problems. So they are looking for another company that can produce the urethane resin they want. I guess they do not want to use the ones that the other Korean companies use. I do not know how all of that works. I thought there are only a couple of molding companies in Korea that all the bjd makers use. But I could have that all wrong.

I would love to get one in urethane now. Hope they can find another company to use. I love the look of my girls. I love their "grown-up" look and all the ways you can dress them. Right now I have girls back in their boxes as I hate to leave them out. But soon I will work up another idea for an outfit and post it in the gallery.

 

I agree they are so beautiful, expressive and posable!!!! I find out more and more I am driven towards the less stilyzed dolls too... And I hope they start doing Urethane dolls again soon! There must be more Narin love all around!!! You are not alone Dollsweet and ghost reflection

 

Glad to see you here Dhariana! Yes, these are such pretty girls. I think what I love best is the design of the body. I do not care for the "Barbie" doll body. The large, out of proportion breasts make dressing them quite difficult and not "normal" looking. The large Narae body is more like a typical "runway" model. They have enough shape that they look great in whatever clothes you put them in. And for some reason, the French resin on the larger body is so much prettier than the smaller Naraes. I have 4 small ones that I love to pieces but somehow having it more dense for the bigger body, well, it just glows more. However, I want a urethane resin one next as I do get tired of having to constantly cover them up or hide them away in their "box room"!

 

Yay, more posters. The small ones are cute and have their own charm, but the big ones are total love.
Dollswest, I 100% know what you mean. The French resin is beautiful, but I hardly every take mine out cause I can’t stand the thought of her yellowing. It would be so nice to have one that I did worry about every time I take her out. Yeah, complain about this a lot on here. It’s the bitter-sweet relationship with French resin. Thanks for the info, at least I know they are still going to come out some time.
I do really enjoy their body shape too. I think they have a realistic shape, meaning you will find real people with a similar shape, not some exaggerated endowment of human, particularly male but I was trying to avoid sexism, fantasy. Hate to rant, but I get frustrated with these unnatural images of beauty.

 

I thought this might be good information to add for future referencing. Last December my beautiful Narae 60 took an unfortunate fall and broke off part of her torso. I contacted Narin asking them how much it would coast to replace the upper torso. They finally e-mailed be back. The total for this part, in white French resin, is $160, and that is shipping to the U.S.

 

Yes it is. Thank you ghost reflection!!! Here at my country I would be too much insecure having a french resin girl. One of our friends here ( a very careful one, mind you!) had her limhwa yellowed in 4 months!!! So as beautiful as it is, I can't have a french resin one...

 

I finally managed to make a new outfit for my Ava (standard open, pinky white French resin). I do admit it is hard dressing other dolls since my large Narae girls are my favorite. I keep waiting for Dollfair to offer them in urethane resin. I look around at other SD girls but just cannot find one I like better than my Narae girls. What can I say, I am sold on them!!!

Thank you so much Anneke! I appreciate your kind words here and on the other site. Thought I would post here as this dear thread seems to end up at the bottom rung all the time.

I just know if Narin came out with the large Narae in Urethane resin again, they would sell like hotcakes. I am still waiting for them to be available again. And I know what you mean about "pennies". I ordered two Volks FCS dolls. I can hardly wait for them to arrive. Kind of ate away some of my "dolly cash".

And I haunt other bjd sites to find more dolls to add to my collection and sew and knit for. At the moment I just cannot find any. Ava and Alexa have spoiled me! I am working on another outfit for Alexa. The sweater is taking so long as the gauge is quite small and there are so many rows and stitches. So hope it will be worth the work!

In the mean time my spare time has been spent on the computer working on my website. So "dolly" work is running a close second now! But not for long.

Just wish more folks would visit here again. I love to hear how everyone is getting along with their "big" girls and boys! I often think about getting a big Narin boy. Boys just don't seem as much fun to dress though. Finding shoes, etc, can be a problem.

I too want a tan Narin Charisma but I want him in urethane. The tan color is a little darker in the urethane and that's what I want. I'm waiting for them to become available too.

 

Yeah, I absolutely love Narin Charisma and Mature Narae sculpts. >_< Hopefully urethane is available sometime within the next year!

I too am waiting for the urethane resin to become available. I'd like to get a 60cm Narae with the mature face-up.

 

Thank you Linda! She is white French resin. Gland you like the face-up. Took me quite a few tries to get it right. Her tail is done except for the beading, and eventually I am hoping to make a top.

Sometimes I wish she was in urethane, because I hardly ever take her out for fear of yellowing. But, the French resin is beautiful, and has a certain glow to it that urethane does not. I&#8217;m hoping to get another big girl in urethane either another narae, or limhwa. Those are my two favorite doll makers.

I do like how dashing the narin charisma is. I&#8217;d get him if I could. He is yet one more doll that I don&#8217;t have the time or money for right now. Perhaps in four more years when my broke college days are over.

Yes, it seems the same complaint - where are the urethane ones! I just love my Alexa and Ava, but as I have mentioned, they must hide out in their boxes. Even while I am fitting them, I keep them hidden under a towel so the light will not ruin them. I must say it must be working because I do not notice any color change.

I am working on another outfit for Alexa. I sort of got behind do to my long hours working on my new website. It was quite intense but, for the most part, it is up and working. Hope you visit it. For those that knit, I have a free downloadable pattern (shrug) I just showed. It is an easy one to knit up. Fits these gals so nice. Can't say enough about how much I love my two girls!

I finally finished another sweater and skirt for Alexia. She is my most favorite doll of all time! And that is saying a lot, considering the dolls in my home! Well she comes in second to my daughter!

&#8220;Simone&#8221; from the book &#8220;French Girl Knits&#8221; inspired this sweater. I did not realize it would take so long to knit up. I used Misti Alpaca&#8217;s lace weight hand dyed alpaca yarn. I used a very fine gauge. The flared sleeves and collar use both a double and single eyelet rib pattern. I love the cowl neck on Alexa. It gives it a glamorous look that could be worn for evening attire. The long skirt is out of silk taffeta. I made up the pattern for that as well. There are just no patterns out there for these girls. I always have to makel my own up!

I really love the new wig you will see on Alexa. It is "glamor" by Jpopdolls. I asked Grace if she will have it in more colors. I love the red on Alexa but would love a strawberry blond as well.

I'm thinking about getting a Narin Charisma to faceup as a girl (this one is to be an "ideal me" doll, and all the girl faces have rosebud lips, totally not me at all!) -- does anyone know if that head would go on a 60cm Narae body well?

 

It makes sense but it just won't work. I like the Mature Narae faceplate, but it is not going to work for an "ideal me". Are there any 60cm bodies I could hybridise the Narin with? Or I guess I could mod the Narin body.

 

Long time since I last checked in. I am dying for Narin to come out with matt resin. It doesn&#8217;t look as if they have updated anything on the website about it. Does anyone have any added information on this?

 

I've also been eyeing a Narin60 or charisma for one of my characters but I want it in matte resin. >_<

And does anyone know if Dollfair offers the heads separately? I've seen it as a 'yes' in some threads I've looked up but want to confirm if it still applies now.

 

They do, on the website the have a link for "optional heads" that lets you get them separately.

 

I'm glad to know about the Charisma head and fit for the girl's body, then. I've been considering getting a girl with the Charisma face. Your lady is a Mature Narae, the, ghost_reflection? She really is lovely.

I've been debating on a 60cm girl for my Minimee boy. He needs someone with strong, realistic features and the Narae's are some of the best looking of the girls.

How are the proportions, if you were to have a Narae Mature faceplate on a male body?
It's been said that Narin heads don't fit on the female body, so I would assume it would look awkward vice-versa.
I'm just double checking. As the Narae Mature mold is ideal for a character I have, but for it to work "she" would have to become a "he".

 

I see Narindolls (Dollfair) is redoing the website and has an order period for Christmas listed, and says MATTE RESIN is coming back (yay - I want a Urethane doll or two). Hopefully they'll make a news announcement when they're all set up as the website looked like it was still in process of updating and links weren't all working yet.

 

I saw that too and I can't wait to order some faces for my 43cm ones, did you see those new hands?! And a larger bust option for both sizes too?! I am bursting with excitement!!

There is an update in the DOA news thread about the new 60cm dolls.

Just a reminder that the new 60cm Narae will be released on November 12.

Bimong decided to tinker with her a bit more before releasing her.. I already had photos and everything, but we are waiting for new ones of the new version.

Narae 60 has a new bust option you can see in the news thread as well.

And of course, a new Narin 60 face... it's a different style for Bimong, and we hope you enjoy him.

Ooh! Love the new larger bust option for the Narae 60 and the matte white resin!! Confused about her price though. It states $675 for a standard, but when I put her in the cart she was $820 even though I hadn't added any extra options. Is the large bust version considered non-standard (and thus more expensive)?

 

I guess since there's a nice fixed order period I should hie myself over there and throw down for my matte tan Narae 43 Butterfly (with fists and a big bust) and matte tan Narin 60 Charisma. The new faces are nice, but the Charisma has always been the one Narin face that really grabbed me.

 

Let me check that out.. the shipping is direct from Korea which is more expensive than my cheap US delivery fee

Is there no one else squeeing and jumping up and down over the new 60cm Narin!?!?! I certainly am....like crazy O_O He really IS so different, but I love him....must have....someday when I don't have to spend every penny on class supplies...

 

I'm quite in love with all the new sculpts! And darn it I totally want a Charisma. I've been wanting him for about forever. Too bad I still can't get him lol! I hope the matte resin will be available more often in the future. I'm intrigued by the golden beige matte resin; will there be actual dolls to show this color soon?

I love the Mature Narae face sculpt, but would like to have her on a taller body. Has anyone put her on Dollmore Model body for example? I am very curious to know if it fits, the resin match, proportions. Or any other Mature Narae hybrids.

Has anyone gotten the 60cm Narae Dreamer with larger bust yet?? I am debating on getting her later this year, but wanted to see owner pics. Oh and is there a problem with the faceplates not staying on as well?

I'm not sure if there is a problem with the faceplates not staying on. I have an older 60cm Narae and Narin, and their faceplates stay on well. However, I am still waiting for my Narae head from the new batch. I'll be able to report on resin matching and faceplate issues when she arrives.

No problem! It's been a bit of a long wait (I ordered on December 4th and have yet to receive my shipment), so I hope that the company sorts out their issues and sends out orders in a more timely fashion. Anyway, I will definitely update you!

EDIT: Derilan85, I received my head today and the resin tone is similar to Volks, but a touch more yellow. So, it's safe to say that the Golden Beige Matte is quite close to yellow-toned resins. Other than that, she came with a mold defect on her face. I have contacted Dollfair and hopefully it will be sorted out. I'm upset! I think Naraes and Narins are so lovely. It's a shame and I hope it can be sorted out.

I've been wondering about the same thing as Datsuki has, has anyone asked Bimong if he's going to sell full 60cm dolls again? Not just the heads. I'm really itching for a pair of Narin and Narae 60 to my doll family.
