Narae and Narin 60cm Discussion part 2.

^Kalia is so beautiful! I really like the face up. I have a mature narae too, and they look very diffrent of one another. It is always nice to see how diffrent this sculpt can look.

 

Kalia is lovely and look at that snow, we had our snow quota for the year in my area, but I would not mind 3 inches now. I dread Spring and Summer.

 

Could anyone help me, pleeeeeease?
What's the situation with Narins' heads? I can see Charisma head on Bimong's site, but it's sold out. Are there any selling periods of SD heads or what? Shall I wait till they will be on sale again?

I'm so sad with the news I've been seeing regarding Bimong. I really love his work! I always wanted a big Narae but never got the opportunity to order one. I did have the misfortune of dealing with Dollfair for my Neferti and Bimong having to send out her orders out of pocket. Oh, what a mess! I gave up on waiting for him to make a new 60cm body and went with the Zaoll body for my Neferti. I'm quite pleased.

I wish there were more of the bigger Naraes/Narins around. They're such lovely dolls!

I feel the same way! I was about ready to order a large Narae from the D-storic site, until I read the other message of a member, warning member's not to order from them because they didn't send her doll and never returned her money either. I wanted to get a big Narae for a long time, but there don't really seem to be a lot of them around. I really hope that the situation with Bimong or even D-storic will be resolved some time soon. Hopefully then, it will be possible to order a big Narae from them.

 

Is anyone having problems getting onto bimongs website? I really out of the loop on what is happening with these dolls.

 

ghost reflection, Bimong's dolls are selling through the site d-storic.com, now. But there is no 60-cm-Narae yet there.

Bumping the thread up with great news that Narin Charisma and Narae Mature heads have been just released by D-storic.
I'm very excited! Narae mature is y Holy Grail. I'm thinking about possible body matches as there are no exact info about the oroginal body release.

 

I think I'm going to be patient about the actual Narae body, since I do want one. I've always been a fan of Bimong's creations. I actually made a character for a 2/3 open eyed version Narae some years ago... I hope D-storic is going to release the rest of the faces someday too.

I'm so excited there's a new start for the big Narin/Narae again! For me my dream doll is and has been Narin Charisma for some years now. I almost had him, but then Dollfair messed up and I never got him. And now D-Storic brings his head back!!!! He looks so fine in his ivory resin glory, I just had to adopt him (KR Ivory). Don't want to miss out on him again, no Ma'am!^^

Like you I am very eager to learn about possible body/ resin matches in the course of time, at least until they can offer the Narin 60cm boy body again, which may take some time.

I'm going to order Narae's head asap and I might wait for the original body because I really like it.

 

Katalina, you and Giggy are right. The original bodies of Narin and Narae60 are very elegant and pure. If they update these bodies, I'd love to see if there will be any differences made. I remember, just before Bimong had to give up ArtBimong and became too ill to work, he announced that he wanted to make new 60 bodies.
So, an original Bimong body would be perfect for these heads, no doubt^^

 

Bimong has been my favorite artist from the start. I really hope that the new bodies are similar to the old ones. I have one of his older ones and I've been wanting to get another in urethane. I hate that such a good artist has gone through so much trouble. I'm excited to see that those heads have come out again. They are beautiful! I hope he can keep moving forward with his business.

 

@Mandagore: Wow congrats! I know your feeling, I always wanted Narin Charisma TAT
I even asked D-storic when they just opened their official website, they said they will release Charisma again and after long time waiting he's up to sale >w<//
I can purchase him now but I still ask D-storic about shipping problem and it seems their reply is very slow =.= I don't get it with their shipping cost to my country, I usually pay $15 for one head from Korea to Indonesia (we still in Asia)
This is my first time to meet korean company that charged me $35,7 just for one head?? @_@

 

BabyJJ, I am very sorry to hear that communication is slow for you with D-storic. I talked to them through their q&a board, and they got back to me within one day. Did you try that? I think it works better than sending emails.
I have to admit I know nothing about shipping rates in your part of the world, but I really hope everything will work out. If Narin Charisma is your dream doll too I keep my fingers crossed you will get him!

And thank you, yes, the head is alsmost here - he's sitting in customs now. It may take me some time to get him from there, though, with the Easter holidays coming!^^

BabyJJ, the Narin head was shipped two days after I ordered him. He would already be here if it weren't for our Customs service. So it might take me until after the Easter holidays to get him home!^^ He has no body yet. I need to see what KR ivory really is like.

I accepted my shipping quote because it was half of what I usually pay for a whole doll from Korea to here. So I figured it was ok. But who knows now?^^

I worked in website field, you don't need to modified the system "just" to change the shipping data, you only need to input new data, is very easy, but oh well this is not my company so I just can say yes, yes u__u

My Narin60 charisma head is finally with me! As I have to find a body for the time being, I have checked for possible resin matches for the Korean Ivory skin. (I also posted in the Narin mini thread.) For those who might be interested in hybridizing:

Spiritdoll normal skin and CP real skin normal were almost spot on; likewise Dollstown freshskin. Loongsoul normal skin yellow matches very nicely too and Leekeworld normal skin is just a tiny bit darker, but still very good.

Please keep in mind that I could only judge from the individual dolls we have in our house, and we all know that resin tones can vary from batch to batch. I also cannot report on things like proportion and neck/ neckhole compatibility, except for the CP senior delf boy body which fits just fine in my opinion.

 

Mandagore, congrats on getting your head!

I've ordered my mature head not long ago, so hope it won't take too long time to ship it.

Is CP Cerebrus Project, btw? I'm thinking of getting senior delf girl body for my narae and really hope they will match nicely.

Yes, CP is Cerberus Project. I had my Narin head on a senior delf boy body and color, proportion and neck/ neckhole match were nearly perfect. So I think it is quite possible it will look nice with the girl body and a Narae head too. Have you already checked for neck circumference?

BabyJJ, I'm so sorry but I am not sure at all what D-storic means by that notice concerning their shipping costs. I mean, you should get a different shipping fee than before if you only order a head part because they say they will discount the handling fee for part orders to lower the shipping cost?!

 

my head is on the way home! d-storic is super fast!

Mandagore, I've searched any info regarding neck circumference a lot, but couldn't find any exact information (there is no data on Luts website, neither you can find it in several comparison tables). Probably it's 9 cm, while narae's neck size is only 8 cm.
Another concern is that narae's head size is only 7.5 inch, I'm not sure it will look ok on 60 cm body. I'm afraid it might look too small.

 

Katalina, yep, senior delf girl neck size is 9cm (found it in a senior delf discussion).
It would be best if there were dolly friends near you who had a doll like that for you to try the head on. Or maybe you will get lucky and D-storic will produce the Narae body soon?^^

 

What about Supia body? The neck circumference seems right and the original Supia head is 7-8 rather than 8-9. I'm not sure about resin match though.

Nimrod, that's is just a great idea! Thank you so much! I do love Supia bodies as they look so elegant and femenine. Will have to check how their resin matches though.

 

I've got my Narae mature head yesterday and I'm really dissapointed by its poor quality.
The head looks as unpolished



and the gap between the faceplate and the head is just huge!


the neck part is really thin, i'm afraid it might be easily broken. sorry, do not have neck pics, but the wall width is about 2 mm only.
i'm going to write to d-storic and see what they will answer regarding those defetcs.

 

I'd like to get a complete Narin60 with the Charisma head and am tempted to buy the head now... but what if d-storic never produces a body? I'm not against hybrids - I've seen some very good ones - but I'd rather have a complete Bimong doll. Anybody know how he's doing at this point?

Katalina, this is terrible! I think it's only right that d-storic send you a perfect head. And if the molds are wearing out they should know enough to make new ones, assuming they have an original Bimong head to work from.

but actually I decided to keep this head not to deal with return shipping costs, etc.
here it comes with make up by very talented Herrzog

 

I've asked Herrzog to try the head on a delf body she has at home and she was very kind to check the proportions for me and allowed me to share her pics. So here it goes! Narae Mature head on delf body (white skin, 2006)

The proportions are ok, besides the neck which looks short and thin. But the neck compatibility is ok.

 

the hand on the left side belongs to delf 2010 in normal, the head cup to Juri (I'm not sure about spelling, sorry) Fairyland 2012.

 

I was wondering if anyone had input on weather or not the new Iplehouse YID body would work for there heads. The neck look to be the same size, 9.5 cm.

Really sad that D-storic isn't carrying the dolls an more. I hope Bimong will still sell his dolls. They are still my favorite.

 

Just received my Narin Charisma head last night
@katalina my head has defects too, right eye and left eye's shape seems different, oh well but he's very handsome TAT

NS ivory was really light and pink, I almost think that was a white skin, anyone know which company will matching with?

My narae head is sitting on luts sdf body in normal skin. the matching is good but not perfect. the body is just a tad pinkier


the head had been slightly blushed by the artist so there is no any difference now.

you might notice the difference here (artificial light, no flash). the back of the head is not blushed.

 

BabyJJ, I have my Narin Charisma Korean Ivory head on a Spiritdoll Elegance normal skin body and the fit and match is great. But!!! Spiritdoll has been having some inconsistency regarding their normal skin; I have seen a very light ns and a very yellow ns that was produced by SpD in the same year. But a little blushing on the head would fix that.

Katalina, BabyJJ, I have a question that is difficult to explain. If you put your Narin/ Narae head on a fitting neck and you look from beneath up at the underside of his chin... erm, like you were a little tiny BJD looking up to your large Narin doll, do you know what I mean? Do you see a big gap between the neck and the chin then?
In the case of my Charisma head, if you looked from underneath you could look right up into his head through a wide gap between his chin/ lower jaw and the neck. It is much bigger than on any other doll I have ever seen and I do not believe it is necessary for the posing of the head.
Sorry if I did not explain this well... I just wonder if this was the case with the original Bimong headmolds from pre-D-Storic times too. My original Mini Narin does not have this huge gap under his face.

 

This head has a very realistic sculpt. I would love to see one in person one day. The lovely blond girl above looks almost like a tiny person.

I think I like my dolls to be more "doll-like" however there is something very enchanting about a miniture human

@mandagore oh! if you not mentions this I will never found thi "HUGGGEE GAP" what is this? yeah my Narin CHarisma have it too *A* it's possible to fix, it feels so weird, lucky in shoot this area won't noticeable. And this is Narin Charisma head on DOT body ( old body, batch 2010, it yellowed already )

 

BabyJJ, thanks for checking! I really don't know what this gap is- except that maybe the original mold D-storic got was defective.
Once I have found this gap I could not ignore it any longer, I am sorry to say. So I used epoxy to close the gap a little more. Is this what you meant by fixing it? I tried to paint it the same color as the head but it is never perfect. It is ok, though, because, as you said, it is not very noticable, the underside of the chin is almost always in shadow.

 

@mandagore lol wrong type ^^ I meant (for me) it's impossible to fix it. I can't do anything with it
yes I don't know is the original mold form Bimong was like this or not, since people rarely mentioned this.

BabyJJ, Mandagore, my Narae has a gap like your dolls as well. it doesn't bother me at all because it can't be seen from the sideways or from the front and it allows to incline the dolls' head easily. I do not know if the dolls by Bimong had such a gap originally.

I think 2013 batch is bit different, your ivory is still normal, mine is really pink xD
BabyJJ, i've found a comparison picture of several d-storic batches right after my comment here. oh, well, the latest batches seem to be really pink 0_o

As far as I know, it's really just Bimong's style for his faceplate system on his larger dolls (the 43cm dolls seem to have longer chins underneath the faceplates). I have a few of the Narin Creative/Bimong produced dolls as well as one done by D-Storic. I will say that it's more apparent on my Narin Charisma and Mature Narae than my regular 60cm Narae though.

Ahhh, I can't believe that the Narae Charisma and Mature heads are available again! I missed out on them before, but I definitely won't now!

 

Just as an add in: I asked Bimong if he had any plans to release the two as full dolls. Here was his response.

I have a head from the Goodbye Bimong event at D-Storic, but after far too much difficulty in finding a suitable body to hybrid him on I decided to just wait and buy the full doll when he is available. Looks like we won't have too terribly much longer to wait. (then again that's a bit relative, since I've already been waiting five years at this point, but...)

 

I got a Charisma head from the D-Storic goodbye event also. I have mine on a Custom House body from one of infamous half price sales. That didn't stop me from buying the renewal head. I'm hoping he can share a body with someone who's already here!
