I looked at comparison photos too and they don’t look too bad next to 1/8 dolls, it is similar to how an older infant and a toddler can have the same size head but different size bodies. Here are measurements for Nappy Choo All about Nappy Choo~! - Neo-AngelRegion I also figured out that the iMda Bebe are definitely remakes of Happy Choo.
@Leeza~Kat , As NineOneThree said, Etsy is a good place to start. I have a few things from View Nappy Choo by GuguModa on Etsy that are very nice, and I just ordered a few things from View Nappy Choo BJD clothes by felizzzzzzz on Etsy I didn't look any further because I didn't want to spend any more money!
I'm about to place an order for two of them. Marc and Dalang. Do you *need* super expensive nappy choo eyes, or can you buy regular eyes in the correct size?
I sure hope regular eyes will do. I have several pairs of leftover eyes, and I was hoping I would find suitable ones among them.
@yafashelli , as spih said, you don't have to buy the Soom eyes. They recommend 12mm so I would start with that. But sometimes people find different sizes more to their liking too.
I ordered Dalang and I’m hoping I have clothes that will fit. Even though there are a couple sellers on Etsy that make stuff for them, I’m not finding exactly what I want yet.
I can repair and hem, sew on fasteners, patches, and embellishments, make a box stitch and bows. I think I could make clothes as long as there isn’t any ruffles, pleats, or gathers but I have never tried.
Couldn't pass up on a Nappy Choo, but I did order the Soom eyes because I don't think I have any that size kicking around unused. I have some of those mini Christmas ornaments from Hallmark and hope they're a good play-scale for Nappy Choo. One is of those rainbow baby ring toys and the little Fisher Price school house.
I cannot BELIEVE that I've missed ordering Marc AGAIN. Honestly this hobby sometimes drives me to tears +_+
Dalang is shipping! Of course a couple things I struggled to find are not here yet but at least I have a couple of options for outfits.
My Nappy Choo and Dalang are shipping, too! I hope it does not take too long. Mail has been slow lately because of Covid-19.
I had things shipped with China EMS take a really long time but Korea EMS was still quick the last time I had a doll ship from there, that was back in December though. This will be my first doll in awhile so I hope it won’t take too long.
My Nappy Choo tracks as being in Seoul P.O. I've always had fairly quick arrivals from Neo-angel Region, so I don't expect it will take too long.
It will depend on the route the package takes. It will probably leave Korea promptly but if it needs several stops on the way, it may take longer.
Dalang is out for delivery, let’s see how my carrier handles it this time…they like me to chase my express parcels down . She was shipped four days ago.
My doll is stuck in Chicago customs which makes me very nervous since an incoming doll was lost there two years ago. Once it's on the move I should get it the next day as I'm only one state up.
@phanuel, I hope it works out better this time. I have only had something go through Chicago customs once and I got lucky even though I typically have bad luck. Usually the things I order go through New York and I rarely have issues there. My carrier delivered Dalang and I’m in love, so cute .. I need to think of a name for her and get pictures soon.
My Nappy Choo and Dalang are stuck somewhere in Munich. The shipping from Korea worked faster before Covid-19 when Finnair had direct flights between Seoul and Helsinki. Now EMS packages go through Middle Europe and seem to be stuck somewhere for days before they are put on the next flight.
@NineOneThree ,Yay! Congrats. I'll look forward to seeing pics. Picking the name is fun, I think. Although sometimes I find too many and it's hard to choose among them. @spih , let's hope we get our dolls soon. This is the most difficult part of the wait, when they are at the mercy of carriers and customs officials. Yikes.
I’m still waiting on some accessories and I’ll probably make her a cuter blanket and a couple other simple props. I’m also thinking of adding upper lashes, I have some tiny ones. I am deciding on a name since the sculpt name doesn’t suit her but I had time for a pic this morning.
@NineOneThree , she's great, gorgeous photo! I got my doll today, love the chubby body. Meet Gunvald-- Meet Gunvald by Nadine, on Flickr
Awwww.... These babies are just too cute! I hope mine will be home soon! At least they are no longer in Munich and I paid taxes and custom fees yesterday, so they may arrive today or tomorrow (I hope).
My babies are finally here! Meet Nuppu (flower bud) and Nappi (button). Soom babies by spih_2, on Flickr Though I have a large selection of spare eyes, I had some trouble finding something that fit. There is not much room inside their heads, so some eyes that looked good prevented the face plate from closing properly because the s-hook got into the way. Now I must start making clothes for them. For now they just borrowed panties from my Lati Yellows.
@spih, just saw these two on flickr, love them. There are some clothes available on Etsy made specifically for Nappy Choo, but they are mostly strictly baby clothes, like onesies. I would like to see more toddler clothing. I'm going to see if any of my Lati Yellow/Secretdoll Mong pieces will work. I think the main problem may be getting sleeves and pants over those big feet and hands. I look forward to seeing what you will make for yours.
I've found that some of my 1/8 or "Lati Yellow"-size clothing does fit. Shorts and sleeveless or short-sleeved shirts with arm and leg openings that aren't too narrow. Now Gunvald can look like a toddler as well as an infant. Gunvald by Nadine, on Flickr
Very nice! I must try if some of my Lati Yellow clothes fit my babies, too! I tried a cardigan, but it looked too big.
Yesss! Some Lati Yellow clothes fit! The dresses look too long, but I can easily make a shorter one using the same pattern. Lati hats are way too big, though, but I found that hats made for a vintage 6 inch Rosebud Thumbsucking Baby do fit. So Nappi and Nuppu have somthing to wear while waiting for me to have time to make something just for them. Borrowed clothes by spih_2, on Flickr
I think the longer dress works, it looks like a baby gown and I love your little pink bonnet on nappy choo. I found pacifiers that fit.
I made clothes for Nappi and Nuppu so that they do not need to borrow clothes from my Lati Yellows all the time. Nappi and Nuppu by spih_2, on Flickr
The boy's clothes are made from patterns in "The Miss Rosebud Twins and Friends" book with a little adaptation (and a lot thinner yarn). The girl's clothes are my own design. Both shoes are my own design.
Those clothes would be too big unless you use very thin yarn and tiny needles. And you would still need to adjust pants and sleeves to be shorter. I'm used to tweaking patterns here and there to make them fit, so I can use various patterns as a starting point and then tweak them to fit.
I crochet so it's a little different, but I expect that a tiny hook and lace weight thread will work for the babyChoo. I'm excited to start. definitely going to be a learning curve
Thank you for that information. I have to think of yarn but I was also using a bigger hook. I made a diaper and some booties. ( linkie to INSTAGRAM with photo. Login • Instagram )
Aww I love nappy choo so so much. I wish I had one. I didn't know they're allowed on DoA. Sorry if I'm making faults. I'm totally new into BJD.
Any new pictures of these babies? They are difficult to pose for me, so much that I popped a hand off and had to restring her arm during a photo shoot, lol! We got it together and the picture turned out pretty cute
@spih, I bet sueding would be helpful on a few of my little ones! @Angel_, you pose yours so nice, do you suede or wire them?
The onesie under the overalls is from aliexpress, the title is making me laugh, you will too when you see it https://a.aliexpress.com/_msD6Qyu Then the overalls were made for ob11 and I squeezed her into them, they were made by this seamstress. She can’t sit wearing them, only bend and stand, lol! SVSAKI_DOLLCLOTHES
I snagged two of the Nappy Choo's from the post MD sale, but I'm really worried they won't be released again? I'm wondering if Soom might be stepping back or revamping the Neo Angel brand, since there's not a lot of releases there anymore and the post MD event included the NC on their Gem website. Either way, I'm really happy I could finally get my hands on some. I've been kicking myself ever since I missed the last order! They're adorable.
