I don't own one yet, but I have future plans for a Yvonne head! Lina has also stolen my heart, but I don't know what I'd do with her, I don't have an open place in my plans for another big girl, but there's just something about her face that really piques my interest. I'll be looking forward to lurking around in here and seeing your Lina when she arrives! Are you going to make a post in the unboxing section?

 

I recently found them and I’m sooooo in love with the classical faces I’ve only just started dipping back into 1/3 dolls after the first few I owned were wildly different sizes and they didn’t really fit together- No plans to get one of those beautiful girls, but all the same I’m eagerly waiting to see how they look next to other dolls!

 

Ive been considering buying the male bust stand to hold a temp head until i can afford his body, and maybe get Arlo to stay on the bust stand afterwards. He’s very handsome and i keep finding myself drawn to him.

 

They’ve mentioned they are in process to make a male body. I decided to wait on that and got male bust stand for my male head I have Yvonne in NS, closed eye Rati in NS and open eye Rati in W. I just love them so much.

Has anyone ever ordered from them off Etsy?

 

I ordered my Yvonne and body from Etsy before I knew they had their website. Did you have question about it??

Ah gotcha. They put a clear note that they are all made to order. You can't list nonexistent product on Etsy. But they do ship one fast if they happen to have a product actually "in stock"

I got a male bust stand for my male head. They said they are working on male body so he is gonna sit on the sand for as long as it takes. I have a high expectation for their future male body for looking realistic, mature (built but not overly muscular) all without being too tall to match my other Nakana dolls. Bust stand already has the physic. I'm planning on making him something to dress over the bust stand meanwhile

 

Hi! I am considering getting their 1/3 body for a hybrid with a MDR Fang head. How do you find its posing to be? Do they sit well?

 

So, I would suggest comparing neck sizes. I have an Yvonne and a MDR Olathe. My Olathe has a rather tiny neck hole and just barely works with an SD10 Suwarricco body I have her on. My Yvonne, on the other hand, has a massive head. It fit the impldoll and supia ballerina bodies really well. My Olathe basically sat on the neck holes of both.

Not sure how Fang would compare, but definitely wanted to give you a heads-up!

 

has anyone got a Cassia from Nakana Studios? She doesn't seem to be as popular as Yvonne, I couldn't find any owner photos on a quick search... I really like her nose shape, though!

 

I hope the release of the new body will make way for poor Arlo to get a body, if not other masc. dolls in general. I’m buying the head and bust, but it would be nice to know they’ll make a body to go with for sure. I know I could get another body but uh. I’d rather not have to hybrid.

 

I keep hearing they are working or planning to work on male body. So the new female body was, to me, a little let down because I was hoping they release compatible male body for 56cm girls (which I prefer)

 

I agree 100%. I think the bodies they have made are beautiful, so I’ve been eagerly awaiting to see how the do the male one for quite some time now. Hopefully we get that sooner than later, and bonus if it isn’t a hugely tall body at that!

 

Now I love me some gorgeous bust stands, and couldn't recommend these ones more, but!
Out of over a decade of BJD dolls, this is the first time anyone's ever made a doll that looks like me- so of course I had to have one.

I found a wig that looks a lot like my hair, too.
This is the Panya head in the White resin- it's very Ivory- on a stand in their NS which is a golden toned type ns.

 

I like that they added the thigh joint and sculpted the knees a bit better, but I'm so sad they removed the logo from the back... I'm going to buy the 56 version soon, but I'm considering maybe getting the 1/6 Liv version of the new body since it also has a few plus points

I hope they're going to release a posing video, because I wonder if the new version stands less stable than the old body

 

Since we don’t have a waiting thread I thought I’d pop in and say I ordered Arlo + Male bust in normal with faceup on the 4th. Does anyone know if their shipping ETA is still accurate? Their Q&A page hasn’t been updated in a few years.

Hey y'all! I've been looking for a bust/stand for a 1/3 Lingtai/Ling Tai head I just acquired.
The neck opening of the head is 9.3 cm.
I kind of wanted the female bust more than the male bust, but it depends on how the head would fit.
The neck circumference on male bust is 10.5 and the female is 9.
I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to this and was wondering which one would be a better fit.
Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can give me!

 

Sisca is stunning, if I didn’t need to buy a new computer I would absolutely order her in a heartbeat!! I want her badly. Hopefully I can get the chance to order her one day!

 

Sisca is my favorite 1/3 head by Nakana! But I am saving up to buy Rati first

 

She instantly went on my wish list !! If I wasn’t ordering super limited boy, I’d have gone for her. Hoping to afford another Nakana full doll and extra heads in the future!

 

Can I just say I hope so too, because I very much enjoy seeing your dolls and all you do with them on Instagram!

 

I resorted to my first-ever layaway for the priority boy today. That means I have a little more financial room to consider another doll or head.... It is getting too tempting...!

Awwww thank you I wish I could see more Nakana dolls on IG tho, there seems to be very little updates (I see mostly only mine. LOL)

 

I’m honestly surprised they are not more common or popular on social media- they’re just absolutely beautiful to me and the author photos, full sets and makeup are incredible too. But it is awfully nice not worrying (yet) about sold out dolls or quickly filled preorders!

 

I also think these dolls deserve more fans. My favorite face is the cherubic LuLu. Liv and Lina are also very pretty in that Victorian/Edwardian Era way.

 

I think they are gorgeous sculpts, too! I was turned away by the resin options (I prefer a WS that isn't so yellow), but they have a newer WS that might match my Maskcat body better, so they are on the "future floating heads" list now.

Of the 1/3 heads, I love Yvonne and Panya the most, but Sisca is really charming!

And LuLu looks SO much like one of my nieces - the same sleepy eyes, the rosebud mouth, etc. I keep resisting the desire to buy one just for her! (But she is only three years old, so I think it would be safer to wait haha).

 

Sisca looks like combination of Yvonne and Panya. I love how she looks smiling!

I was lucky to find Lulu second hand. I couldn’t afford her brand new and kept missing. I also wasn’t sure if I like her enough to keep after paying so much due to the scale (mature for yosd. Age wise, Lulu appears MSD in Yo size.) I was also curious to see Nakana light tan so this was very good purchase to try out Lulu and Light tan without spending a fortune. I was first going to rehome her. Now I’m too attached she is staying

 

Love Nakana aesthetics. Previous month i odered a Sisca. She will be perfect with my Maskcat and Dollstown girls I only took the head, unfortunately the 60cm body remains too short for my SD family. I will hybrid her with a Dollstown 17years female body. The light white looks very closed to the DT freshskin. I hope it will work.

 

I ordered Yvonne on the old body (really wanted it before it gets discontinued. If I understand it correctly, Nakana is not yet sure if they'll discontinue it or not and if they do then it's still months/years away, but I love the proportions too much to wait any longer ^^")
it should be shipped this month or next month. Once she arrives I'll be able to take more pictures of my Panya and her and will post them on instagram

I'm kind of confused by the tags on instagram tho, since some write #nakanabjd, some #nakanaworkshop and some #nakanadoll. Does anyone know which the tags are the most current/active?

 

I always tag “Nakanaworkshop” since they have most posts. But many are my posts because I really love to spread info about what I genuinely love so other people can discover.
Congratulations on the new body order! I’m on the same boat about the aesthetics and future possibility. I really need body for my floating head because the head is my mini me. I’m thinking ordering a full Panya or Sisca to share body with.
I love your creativity on IG. I can’t wait to see what you do when the body is there!

 

Has anyone had their Sisca arrive? I would love to see photos. Has anyone ordered the gray skin tone? that would be interesting to see also! On her insta it looks more normal skin tone lovely tone, almost a pinky gray...

That's a great idea with the body! Your mini me is really well done, right now you have her sometimes on the 56cm body, right? Panya and Sisca are both so cute, but I would love to see open-eyed Panya next to Sisca to get a better grasp on their differences and similarities, maybe Nakana will photograph them next to each other at some point ^^ are you considering the open-eyed or half-open Panya?

 

Does anyone else wish for more hands? I hope they make the 1/4 scale hands at some point also in 1/3, they look cool

 

I am thinking about half-open eye Panya and Sisca. I like to have variety of facial expression

 

Who else is on a boat for Black Friday sale?? 15% is a lot to me! I was hoping they run another sale this winter. I still cannot afford both a body in white and full doll in tan So maybe get Panya full doll in Light tan which is lesser possibility to afford at regular price... Invest in other heads another time (or Black Friday next year. lol)

And that's great news about the resin color actually matching Volks white! I'd like to get one of the lovely heads (Yvonne is high on my list) for my Maskcat body. I believe Maskcat said their white is also meant to match Volks white, so that gives me a lot of hope that they will be compatible.

 

That's assuring to hear about the resin colour! I got new white body for my Erato head in Volks White! I regret not getting sisca with the body during the sale! I would love to see any photo of her soon regardless how good the photo itself might be!

 

My Nakana doll head is a self portrait but alas, I think she will be at the bottom fo the list when it comes to getting her faceup, as I have prior commitments on my dolly-time. So it might be a while before I can show y'all how she looks.

 

@vermaxen I see her eyes are much smaller to compare to older scalps. It's interesting they kept the eye socket as big as bigger eyed heads. And I love your picture of Sisca. It is raw and real. I love promotional photos but yours shows more of what I wanted to see

 

I know this is a very (very) long shot, but any chance anyone has a resin comparison for Nakana's new tan and Fairyland's tan? :') I know they mention them as a comparison, but sometimes its hard to tell what color a tan actually is in company photos!

Have you tried to purchase spare parts from both companies?? That’s what I’m thinking about doing pretty soon with Maskcat and Nakana. It’s a little investment but I’m thinking that’s going to be the most reliable way to compare

 

I’ve been dreaming of owning SD size elder doll. And I’ve been thinking turning Panya older with faceup…. (Potentially add some sagging around her checks and eyes. But I’ll first try with just faceup) Has anyone got any experience with Nakana or any other company? (I’ve only seen Antique Lilac with iplehouse.)

 

Hooray!! I received 56 body in light white today!!
I got this for Zee's Doll Erato in Volks White. Despite the head being close to a year old, the matching is lovely!! I wish I had the head in NS tho...I am not a big fun of white skin when it comes to dolls but the sculpt makes it lovely. I received SartorialJ flat shoes at the same time. It is tiny bit tight but fits great! Not saggy like in iplehouse flat shoes! I will be posing unasked photo update soon LOL
