Here's another photo of Wally, as requested.
I took him outside for a little bit over the weekend to enjoy the lovely dappled light. Hehe. His smile kills me. And his nooooooose!

 

Pardon me for being late to the party, but I love his little button nose & philtrum. he's so beautiful! the lighting makes him look even more realistic. I'm so happy you received him, he's going to have a lovely home.

@Lady Ravenswood A million belated congratulations! That is the nigh-impossible dream, and you've styled him appropriately. I can't wait to learn more about him. It's marvelous seeing this thread come to life once again.

They do have a deep gaze, don't they? It gives them life and character. I'm consistently amazed at how nobody in this thread owns a doll that isn't...distinct. You can't mistake any of them for another. They're individuals.

Speaking of impossible grails, I had the impossible happen this year also. First things first: I was second-in-line for a Har. Granted, the first buyer followed through. But that's the closest I've ever come. Maybe one day.

But then, I did manage to be first not only on a Yakumo, but a Cyril as well. Both of their owners were patient and kind. After years of thinking I'd never see one in person, two of Nabarro's sculpts live here now.





It's a lot to take in.

I'm still working on styling Wally, he was such an unexpected, super amazing thing that I don't have much for him yet.
I'm trying this and that. The wig is actually for my Cyril! Hehe, it's a lovely hardcap wig, but it doesn't quite fit since it was made on Cyril. Very close though! I wanted him to have blonde hair, so it suits him for now. I think I'll have to find/make him something similar!

 

Anyone else seen the new head pictures on Nabarro's Flickr? Thoughts?

I'm hoping it might be smaller, require a slightly smaller body. Those big guys are too heavy for me. I love that mouth!

Yes, I'd also love it if it was slightly smaller, haha. I think his features aren't as prominent/stylised as their previous sculpts; do you think he will be altered a little more before he's finished? I don't know a lot about the process of sculpting, from photos

I took a photo of my Wally today. I decided to try out the wig that came with him and I actually really like it! Hehe, somehow I always make plans to make my dolls blonde...but then they end up with dark hair. Hehe, anyway!

I´m happy I checked this thread after an absense of the whole community/hobby. Otherwise I wouldn´t have known Nabarro sculpted a new head! It ´s looking good, it has somewhat of a cheeky flair to it. Such a shame her sculpts are limited. They are so beautiful.

 

Caught a couple of days last week with nice weather and finally got a chance to paint my Har!
He's a re-shell of a character of mine named Julien.



Anyone else get some nice weather for doll things?

 

Uwah your handsome Julien reminded me that I can finally contribute to this thread X) My Har is put together, painted, and has decent clothing, and yeah, I was able to take him outside and get some shots of him here and there this winter.

Aw, he's a cutie @ZennoSaji and the snow is so pretty! I don't get that much snow where I live so I always enjoy seeing it.

I keep looking at the head Nabarro was working on, and wondering if it will ever be available. Perhaps it was a private project.

I caught three of my boys hanging out over Easter
After I moved country I cannot find Khaos' (Yakumo) wig, so he has to use a stand-in until I find the old one or make him a new one. It is frustrating, but I rather lose a wig in a move than lose any of the dolls!

 

The newest Nabarro's Boys head, Kalan, is live~ He is lovely~

I guess it's all down to timing. No word yet for me. I've never even used flickr's pm system before. but, I do get notifications now and then when someone likes something. well, fingers crossed for us.

 

I haven't heard anything yet either. And I also never use the PMs on flickr! Hehe. Just keep telling myself to be patient.

Hehe, I was like :: gasp! :: when photos updated yesterday, but then they were not the new sculpt so I wasn't expecting it today! I was just enjoying the lovely photos.

 

yeah when I saw the head went live I pretty much went nuts! I'm so glad I'll be getting one, he'll be my first one from Nabarro~ and yes we all keep an eye out with enough eyes we cant miss anything right?

 

so excited! ordered 'oriental' ordinary pink with faceup. I have too many blank heads and figured I wanted the full-on Nabarro experience!
has anyone else ordered a faceup with their boy? does N. ask for what you want or paint in the moment, so to speak?

I want to be able to do his face up myself (even if I'm still learning). I wasn't aware that you could commission the faceup itself, though. ^^; It's fine though because I planned to do it myself.

Congrats everyone! I ordered mine in PS without a face-up So looking forward to him. He/she said theyshould be ready to be shipped in only 2 months! (pitty his Dollshe body will likely take forever )

Does anyone have an idea about bodies yet?

I think his size looks similar to Wally, Har, Cyril, Yakumo, so I am guesstimating he will fit similar bodies. If so I might get him a Universedoll body. I love that for Wally and Yakumo. But I think I’ll wait to order his body until the head arrives and I can try it on a few different bodies.

 

I really need to paint some heads. excited for how Nabarro will interpret. K.
smart idea @Prinsessen to wait until the head arrives to choose a body. I'm hoping he can share with someone here.
Hi @Cyador - 2 months with faceup was my estimate. very cool.

 

She (or he?) said two months - and my head is one without a face-up. Last time the heads with face-ups went out one at a time - the last a long time later. So if you choose a face -up - expect the head before Christmas, and hopefully much sooner. It will depend on how many she/ he has to do next to the normal job/ family/ live etc.

 

I was thinking that anything quicker than Dollshe is fine with me. but maybe there aren't a lot of face painting requests ahead of me.
For now, I'll focus on 2 months. Haitao is a man's name in Chinese. I always thought Nabarro was a man. It can be confusing to deal with people behind a nickname. When I used to sew and paint for clients, I always corresponded with my real name. It's more professional IMO if you're taking money from people. But, Paypal gives you a name for buyer or seller, so there's that. It's just not as personal.

 

It's so amazing to see everyone is ordering the new head. I just ordered one in fresh skin. This will be my first nabarro head too.I'm super excited to finally be able to get one in time.

@Prinsessen a universedoll body sounds like a really good option. I definitely want to see your hybrid when he comes in.

@Cyador that resin color should be pretty. I'm getting my head in fresh skin so for bodies I'm going to try him on my dollstown 17yr body when he arrives and see how that works. At least I know the resin will match.

 

Hehe, I think I am on the same track as a lot of you as well. I was thinking either a Universedoll body (because that's what I have my Wally and Har on) or maybe a Dollstown body.

This is so exciting! It's going to be amazing when they all start coming in!

 

I’m really excited to see how all our Kalans will look. Anyone have specific plans already for characters and styling?

@petiteballerine As far as I know Haitao is generally a male name, but can be used for females also. I guess depending on the specific characters used. In the end unless someone asks Nabarro directly I don’t think we will know for sure

 

I am pretty Sure Kalan doesn't have a plan right now for me, but I think I've established I only have three main OCs and anything else is built around them or I bought because I liked the sculpt and wanted to formulate a character around them~! So most likely I'm sure he'll come together once I have him.
