Mystic Kids 1/4 Discussion

They charge you paypal fees, huh?! How sneaakkkyyyy...I'd order her from Junky Spot, but I want to get her without a face up. So even WITH shipping from China, she's still cheaper from Alice's Collections. @_@;

Thank you for letting me know! That's all good info...I would have been put off by the paypal fees thing had I not known before hand. XD

 

I don't know how they get away with that, since it's against PayPal's TOS. In my case, I was trying to get a number of things from one place to save on shipping, so I still came out ahead. But it will cause me to shop around to make sure I can't find what I want elsewhere.

 

I bought my Lillian from Alice´s Collections. They charged PayPal´s fees and it was surprice for me. It was something like 10 dollars if I remember right. They had event for free Airmail shipping but I managed to choose wrong when I made my order and paid EMS. But EMS was fine because the doll came very quickly. Alice´s Collections has Lillian in stock but she has default face-up (same as Junky Spot but with mole).

But anyway, Lillian is a really cute doll! I love her face mold.

CornflowerBlue, She is! And nice to see one without a mole. She looks so fresh, springlike in brown hair and romantic outfit!

I also have a question for all doll owners. Where did you find shoes for your girls? Any tips? I have boots and sneakers for Lillian but I want also pretty shoes (heels, ballerinas, or something like that) to wear with dresses. It seems that her feet (5,5 x 2,3 cm) is too small for basic msd shoes and too big for minifee shoes. And most of the sellers don´t even have clear measurements on their listings. I already bought one pair that was too big.

 

I love that Junkyspot does a different face up...I think that's so cute. XD I'd order her from them, but I don't want to get her with a face up. ;_; I wish they carried dolls blank! I wonder why they don't...Maybe I'll shoot an email over to Emory and see if we can work something out. XD

I'm surprised Alice's Collections hasn't gotten in trouble about the seller fees...XD

Joining you with my Natalia and Illy (Dana and Dan at home). Natalia arrived on 24th, Illy - this morning, 29th. Ordered them in full-sets, NS.
Both very beautiful, Natalia gives off a very serious, thoughtful and romantic look. A bit arrogant at times as well. Illy surprised me: he looks like a little boy in promotion photos, but actually is very manly if he's dressed correctly. In girly frills he makes a very sexy girl. :3 More is in my blog, the link is in my signature (texts are in Russian though, ask if something's unclear).

 

They do make a wonderful couple! I think most of MK boys would make great girls. I'm thinking I'd like a Victor head on a girl body. He's so haughty I think that would work even better for a girl.

As far as shoes for girls goes, I'm afraid I'm no help. Mine's been running around barefoot.

 

Here are some photos of my Mystic Kids Lillian (I gave her the name Hyejoo) :3 She is seriously so beautiful.
I ordered her from an ebay seller and thus got the mole (which was one of her better appeal points for me honestly)
She arrived on the 16th of April (after I had ordered her in february T_T) So I was waiting a really long time for her to come...


However, I have another question...
Do any of you know a place that does layaway for mystic kids dolls??
I know Mint on Card doesnt have them and as far as I know AC doesnt do the layaway offer...

I'm glad I could be of any help, orangetarts. And I'd be happy to see other Natalias and Illys, what they can be styled into. Being practically the only one with their owner pics is a big responsibility, I guess. And I'm kinda slow working on my doll characters, too many other things to do.

 

So as a spur of the moment I decided to buy an Evelyn doll that a friend of mine is selling.
I changed my mind from Natalia because of her downcast eyes

 

So I'm planning on getting a Mystic Kids doll in the future, and was wondering about their posing, and standing abilities. Also, their overall abilities in comparison to other companies like Doll Leaves..

Orangetarts: Your Lillian is pretty! She looks great in dark hair. And congrats for Evelyn! It would be great to see Lillian and Evelyn in the same picture!

Kyavi: There are great comparison pictures at Flickr! Just seach "mystic kids msd" and you should find them easily. There are posing and standing comparisons with other companies dolls. I think that Doll Leaves is one of them. I was looking for them before I ordered my Lillian.

PositivelyThrifty, oh, I love comparison sets. Thank you! I was thinking about a Kid Delf a while ago, and although I've changed my mind, it's still nice to see the comparison photos.

 

PositivelyThrifty, thank you very much for the comparison photos, they were very helpful. And from what I gather, the Mystic Kids dolls seem to pose and stand really well. With that said, I can't wait until I can get a Mystic Kid.. Or three...

 

Kyavi, what I can say for sure, MK are very solid while standing and sitting. Sitting they do not fall back with time as some do. Dana (Natalia) has heels (not way too high, but still) on her full set shoes and general flat feet. Stands perfectly both ways, I can leave her standing and go to the next room to get the things I need for the photos without fearing she'll fall. Dan (Illy) had very loosely strung legs when he arrived and still could stand perfectly well without me convincing him to do so.
One other thing I like - physically MK MSD look more like teens and not like kids, which is great in my opinion.

 

Riin I agree with what you said about the MSDs looking more like 'teens' and not kids! I really like that too :3 Also, I left my Hyejoo standing on my dresser for a whole 2 days and she didn't move an inch, whereas Rei my bobobie doesnt stand for more than a few moments

 

Riin That's very reassuring to hear, since with the Doll Leaves boy I have, I do sometimes have to 'convince' him to stand... Though, once he is standing, I don't have to worry about him falling over.. So knowing that the MK dolls have no issues with being made to stand is a definite positive.

 

MK are one of those dolls you can just plonk down and they're good to stand =)

 

PositivelyThriftyIf that is the case, MK might just take the spot as my most preferred doll company. Now I can't wait to get some MK dolls of my own, getting used to the height difference, when placed next to my Doll Leaves boy, might be interesting though..

 

I just happen to have an MK girl and DL boy. I agree that Lauren, my Lillian, is much better at standing than Dev, my Maya. Trying to get them to stand together was a trip, with him taking her down with him over and over again. His orangey tan makes her pink skintone look white as a sheet and she looks like an amazon next to him while he looks like a young boy.

 

That's it, I've decided, I'm getting an MK doll. Not sure whether it will be Francis, Evelyn, Gene, or Caroline... Maybe Victor..? I don't know, I will get them all eventually though.. I have a problem.

I've ordered in a Mystic Kids 1/4 boy body for the 5th anniversary of my first dolls arriving. I love my boy's current body but I've been looking for an upgrade and the glowing reviews I've read and seen online for Mystic Kids have only made me more certain it's the right thing to do. Especially since my MSD girl hasn't been right since I tried to coat her for blushing. Seeing how well it turns out for Vee will determine whether she'll get a matching female body in the near future.

My sister still owes me money so hopefully I might see some of that in the coming months.

I ordered mine from Alice´s Collections. Lillian was in stock so it took only processing and shipping time. Two weeks after ordering she was home at Finland. Ok, after one week because Finish duty took some time. But if you order non stock doll it takes some time from the dealer to order and the company to make it. I don´t know how long that will be. Maybe you could ask from Alice´s Collections?

They did not send a wig cap with the doll.

It'd be cool to have an MSD or SD from Mystic Kids I only have tiny yosd Cris. It's fun to handle a MK MSD, Francis poses the best of most of the dolls between my friend and siblings and he is not sueded or anything. I will agree that they stand very well too, and don't flop backwards when you sit them down.
I feel that the MK boys work pretty well as girls, half the time my friend's Francis is dressed in girls' clothes because he looks pretty good in almost anything.

Haha, MK boys turning into girls so easily is the reason why I'm currently pondering on Dan's dressing style. Want him to keep looking like a guy next to his sister. Otherwise Dana might get jealous. ^^

Oh it might not be too long! Besides, it gives you time to collect/make them clothes and things to wear. You have two coming, then? Ohhh double the fun!

Also, in stock ordering often comes with a price.. I rarely find the skin tone I want in stock (as I prefer white skin, often, and normal skin seems to be what is in stock anywhere 9 for 10 times) and I have more than one normal skin doll because of it :P the price of impatience!

 

Yes I ordered two! I couldn't choose between them! And you have a point about waiting. My dolls shall have a big wardrobe to look forward to when they arrive
I've never ordered in stock dolls before, but I can tell it must be tiring to find the perfect doll.
Do you have any other dolls besides Lillian? And are you planning to name her something different? I picked out a name for mine, which is Chibi Valshe-San, named after my favorite singer, but I haven't decided what to name Natalia...

My Lillian's name is Chandler. She's probably my 'cutest' doll, wig and clothes and such, or that's the plan anyway!

8 dolls, wow! My mother freaked out when she found out I ordered mine, but then I had to go through the process of explaining why they cost so much and she understood, which was a relief
Chandler is an adorable name!!I love it very much! I think my Lillian will also be my "cutesy" doll...
I first thought that my Lillian's name was too long, but I decided I would either just call her Chibi Val, or Valshe-San.
For Natalia, I thought a romantic name would suit her, seeing as she is the perfect embodiment of romance and passion. What do you think? I value your opinion ^_^

 

Oh yes it makes sense I think what one considers a romantic name is rather individual though so I'm not sure how helpful suggestions would be x.o
there's shakespeare esque names (Juliet, Ophelia, Rosalind, Valentine ) which seem to be commonly esteemed for their romantic feel I think Natalia is absolutely romantic a name in it's own right, as for the sculpt name.

Aha the 8 came over a couple years and I'm quite grown now so all was well with my family It's cool you got your parents on board sometimes they get into it a bit when they realize how creative and involved the dolls can be, that it's not just buying an expensive object to do nothing but stare at if that makes sense.

What clothes brands fit the MSD guys the best? Any suggestions? I wish this guy came with a fullset because I love that white suit.

On a random note, does anyone have a Mystic Kids in the Normal Yellow color? I think if I got a 1/4 from them I'd go for something not -pink, since my Cris is pink.
