Got to take some nice photos of Kaine! His wig still won't let me style it the same way twice, but we've just come to accept his hair's eccentricity.

@xyuemoto It's the strangest wig, but it does look good! I purchased it years ago on Ebay for a completely different doll, but it suited Kaine so well that it stayed with him! It always seems to rearrange itself in strange ways everytime I take it off to dress him.

 

An autumn day.

 

I bought a Mystic Kids Nicole on a whim last week from the Junkyspot, and she came today. I usually do all of my dolls’ faceups myself, so I was initially planning on wiping her. But I totally fell in love today when I opened her, so it looks like her company faceup will be staying until it chips or something and I have to redo it. Really loving her so far, and the undies she came in was such a cute touch.

 

Replaced Kaine's eyes today! I loved the old pair, but the irises were just too big.

 

@Magnus Vale - Cool eyes. They look like they have swirls of colours in them.

 

@xyuemoto They're a really pretty pair that has both shades of blue and violet in them.

Kaine wants to know if anyone notices anything new? XD

 

@Magnus Vale - He didn't have the arm design before, haha. Really cool. I'm waiting for the body for my floating kdf head, and I'm going to be painting his arms.

 

@xyuemoto It was my first time sealing a doll and applying a tattoo, so I was super nervous.. I'm glad it came out as well as it did! Unlike the other tattoo that I tried to do with my watercolor pencils on another doll, haha...

 

@Magnus Vale - I'm going to use acrylic paint and hope I don't make any mistakes, haha.

 

@xyuemoto Well, I wish you luck, be sure to show off the results! As for me, I'm investing in a better set of pencils and going to try my luck again when they arrive. I also want to start trying face-ups eventually, so it's an investment. Today I learned sealing and removing, so that's a start at least!

I might end up giving Kai a few more tattoos eventually, maybe on his lower arms in gold to match the upper arm. I also want to do something on Meta's chest to highlight his pearl, but that's later when I get more practice. In the meantime, I have all of these pretty foil tattoos I bought like the one on Kai, so definitely want to figure out who I want to wear them!

 

It's been an exciting week for Meta - not only did he get his new custom horns, but I also body blushed him and gave him a manicure and pedicure! I'll have to show off some pictures of the magic tattoo I did on his chest later.

 

@Magnus Vale - He looks cool. I want to try hand blushing sometime but I should get better at faceups first, haha.

 

@xyuemoto Thanks! Hand blushing isn't too bad, actually, most of the blushing is just pastel, then I used paints for the nails. I actually had some pearlescent white paint, which was perfect for Meta's pearl theme. The art shop near where I work also has some really nice soft pastels for sale too, so I've been picking up some that are prefect for blushing.

I'm looking to get a mini girl who will wear pretty dresses (as opposed to the hoodie gremlin I have now, lol), and I think she's going to ve an Evelyn! I was torn between her and Caroline, but this thread reminded me to check instagram for owner photos! Thanks guys ❤

 

I've been wanting to add a Mystic Kids Lillian to my collection for quite some time now, and I'm thinking this October sale might be the time to do it.... Anyone have any pictures of their Lillians to sway me?

My Kaine is the latest victim of my body blushing and tattooing spree, so here he is hanging out in my kitchen. I also finally fixed the wrecked sealing that I tried to turn into a scar.

Thanks! This was my first time trying to paint something so complex, not to mention that most of my previous tattoos were premade ones that I just applied (like the bracelet tattoos on Kai here).

Glade and Beryl

 

I got my Beth that I ordered back in May from Alice’s Collections last week. Even after doing her faceup, I’m unsure if I’m going to keep her or not. Her head looks ginormous next to the Minifees I have here at my fiancé’s with me now. I’m going to bring her home tomorrow and see how she fits in with the rest of my collection... idk, kinda disappointed atm.

Gosh, she's so pretty! I feel like I never noticed how nice this sculpt is because I was distracted by that weird wig they put on her in the stock photos.

 

Anyone have a Romeo X? I love the sculpt and the faceup except for the weird barcode face tattoo and the name on the collarbone, does that come with the default faceup? If so, is there a way to remove them without ruining the rest of the faceup/the body resin? I want to know before I consider buying.

 

Anyone have any photos of this doll at all? I can't seem to find any and I'd love to have some references besides the stock photos

 

I love your Beth, dxgirly! It was actually seeing her pics on your Insta that made me decide to get my own. I get that her proportions are different from a minifee’s, but she’s so pretty in her own right. Maybe she needs a story or character of her own, separate from your other dolls? You can also try different wigs and eyes to see if that changes your opinion. Sometimes it just takes time to bond. I started with 43 cm dolls and when I got my first SD size I was shocked, and at first was not a fan. Then I fell in love... it just took a while. In any case, she is truly lovely!

 

There were some on Junkyspot's facebook... it seems the doll does come with the face barcode, but not the tattoo on the collarbone. I'm a little disappointed, I LOVE the sculpt otherwise but the barcode is throwing me off (even though I could easily come up with a reason for it in the backstory).

If you ordered direct from the company (or possibly a preorder through one of their dealers) you might be able to ask them to not include the barcode on his faceup. I don't know for sure, because I've never ordered from them, but most companies will allow things like this in my experience. But otherwise, it's right on his cheek blush, so you probably wouldn't be able to remove it without ruining the blushing.

@Magnus Vale - Haha, yeah Glade has always been a Tremmel sculpt, his wig just hides his ears all the time. Really detailed outfit you put together, nice matching socks/leggings.

 

Hello! Finally thought to come and find the MK thread to show off my boy, Kitten. He's a Francis, and I have the foxy sp head as well - but not quite the right clothes to show that version of him off in all his glory yet haha. I love him even in his street clothes! (excuse the clearly just-on-my-desk photo, space is at a premium around here right now)

I have a question about resin. Their image of "normal pink" looks VERY pink and prior posts make no mention of the colour they now list as "normal". Which one would match the very pale skin of a doll leaves doll?
I'm awfully confused.

 

I broke my "no secondhand international" rule and bought a Francis on facebook. The waiting is already driving me nuts.

 

This is from a while back but I can confirm the pink is very pink next to doll leaves' normal resin color. I have an Evelyn in normal pink resin and a normal resin color Muxue head on order and can add comparison photos when it arrives.

edited to add: Mystic kids normal pink resin on the left, "normal" MK resin on an AoD 1/4 body color normal pink from 2020 on the right. The "normal" is a good match to a very slightly mellowed 2 or three years old Doll Leaves normal.

I'm thinking about getting a Francis SP, can owners here tell me how you like his posing? Maybe especially compared to a 1/6 Mystic Kids?

I ended up getting Kaine a new wig and changing out his eyes, and now he is being very dramatic.

Does anybody know what size wig fits mystic kids 1/4 dolls best? They have "7" listed on their site but would 6-7 or 7-8 fit better? My mom's mystic kid Lillian's wig gave up the ghost and it's been so long since I bought her one Ive forgotten the what size fits best!

the 7-8 in ones have been fine for me- they don't slide off super easily but they're not difficult to get on.
