Mystic Kids 1/3 doll discussion

I want to spam my Eileen, Yaazi. She's my lynaari girl (based on Acorna books) and was upgraded from a DZ Shoyu. I so love her in SD form! I love the MK resin, and she's just gorgeous. Her head is a weird size, though - slightly too big for 7/8, but slightly too small for 8/9. Currently she's wearing a 7/8 Monique Elodie. Undecided if she wants to change hair to a darker rose color, but so far I like how she's come out. Working on a dress for her, but Christmas kind of halted the project.

 

I haven't heard of those books but she's looooovely!

Since my partner hasn't really taken any pictures of her Elisa Elf, I decided to do it for her and post her with my Miri.

 

Oh, the Elisa elf is so pretty! I wish I had the ability to buy her right now, JunkySpot has a sale going on for their instock Mystic Dolls and Elisa elf is in stock. *wails* Sadly, I spent money I technically didn't have for a different doll, so that's not going to happen. lol I am absolutely in love with her, though. Still love my Eileen, of course. I need to take some pictures of her out in the snow, she'd look so pretty in the snow.

 

I can't decide between all all the boys! But wow Milo is a real cutie...

 

Does anyone know what companies have a similar white to Mystic Kids?

And also, I would like to second the notion asking for a review of the girl body

That's brilliant, I think Alice Collection would be the easiest one for me because I have ordered through them before!! I really like Miri - I've bumped her way high up on my wishlist!!

Oh man! Love all these MKs!! I am a newbie to bjds...but have 2 MKs on order, one of which is Eileen (and then a Christina). I fell in love with Eileen...but now I may need a Mira too :-)

Have few questions though....
Do people usually order 'full sets' or is it more common for all of you to buy a 'blank' doll? With or without a faceup? And does it matter who make the wigs? (I saw a couple of wigs on DDE and assuming they are the right size could they be used for MKs?

Sorry for all the questions...just trying to learn while I wait for my girl to arrive ;-)

 

Ordering fullset is a preference. Sometimes a fullset will include an outfit(or wig/eyes/etc.) that you just have to have. Same with faceup'd versus blank. Some people like the way the company painted the doll and sometimes they would rather paint the doll themselves to be sure they get that perfect look or they commission the talented people around the web offering their services. No, it doesn't matter who makes the wig, as long as it's in the right size range and it's what you like. I think the SD MK's are 8/9 in wigs.

Does anyone know if the MK white skin is anywhere close to Luts ws?

I have my eye on Milo right now, but the 1/3 body is also very tempting as i've been looking to get a new body for one of my boys.

 

I have a ws Miri and my sister has a ws event head from 2012, I can take a pic or two when I have some free time.

If it is not too much trouble, could you put the Luts head on your girl's body, or hold it up next you your girls head where we can see the shoulder proportions? I was also thinking of maybe using a MK girl body for a luts head.

I'm out of the weekend, but when I get home I'll try and get a shot of the head on my Miri's body.

 

if luts is a bit pinker than MK this is perfect! I don't even think you would be able to tell the difference with a faceup.

aww yeah that resin looks pretty durn similar to me in these pics! Or at least the match will be better than the body my boy is currently on >_>; stupid environmental resin doesn't match anything.

Milo is getting more and more tempting the more I look at him... I think I might reshell one of my other boys as his sculpt hmm... there's just something so adorable about his face ;-;

 

Koma: Ahhh, her neck looks a bit short and her head a bit big, gosh darnit DX Thank you SOOOOOO much though, I am glad to see it beforehand instead of trying out the combo myself and ending up with a failed hybrid. Too bad though since the white resins look so close. ;;

 

Does anyone know what size eyes MK Eileen and Christina have? I have tried looking but can't find eye size

 

sandyvern it's good to try a selection of different sizes anyway, to see which you prefer - it makes such a huge difference to the look of the doll! As the doll in my avatar takes 20mm eyes, I would guess Eileen (who is also on my wishlist!) will fit anything from 16 - 20mm, depending on how big you like the iris to be on a doll's eye. If you buy acrylic 'reborn eyes' from ebay, they are very cheap and will give you a good idea of what size eyes you like best

I wonder if MK Doll 1/3 normal skin would match Impldoll model skin in normal pink color due l want a Lawrence head in normal pink color. I was looking at the nick size and they would match but not sure on the skin color.

I know that MK NSP matches the Dollzone NSP from 2013, the really pale one.

Ah, Lawrence spam! This is my Crowley from the other day. I really like how he looks as a girl XD This sculpt is so versatile imo, even with the default faceup he looks so different!

 

Oh, wow! I would have never recognized that as being a Lawrence sculpt. I actually really like the way he looks in that style!

 

I'm waiting for a Doll Chateau body for my boy Noa (MK Miri). I got him a F60 white skin body a while ago and the skin match was perfect except for the fact that this head is extremely small for a regular SD body!! >_< the head size is in between of a MSD and a SD so it's been hard to find a body with good proportions....I love the Doll Chateau body because it is skinny and tall and my Noa's character is just like that =)

Poor boy, he's been bodyless for a long time got him new eyes though

 

I have the Carita dress from Dollheart and it fits but it is a bit baggy in the torso. I pin it in the back and it's not bad. I also have an Angell-Studio dress and it fits better. Also have a dress from Violet Fern that fits nicely... but it helps that it's super adjustable.

 

would it be possible to ask for more photo of MK's pink and white resin match to luts if possible? im trying to get a body for my floating head and replacing a head for my luts jdf in rsw coz i reallly like eileen's head : )

Wow, seeing all these owner photos is great! My first doll is going to be a Mystic Kids Lawrence, I just fell head-over-heels for his expression, I got him blank in normal pink resin and ordered him with his default wig as well (I'm a sucker for dark red hair). As soon as he arrives and is presentable, I'll take some pictures to post here too!

Speaking of the Lawrence, does anyone know what eye sizes would fit him best? Is there a range?

 

16mm is the size that fits him ^_^
