I am simply loving the fact I get to see so many mature babies in this forum. I have a question, do any of y'all have the hands from Dream Valley 1/6ths to try on the Myou body? I know it's a bit of a long shot but I love the body so much. Also if you have the special body with 3 parts could you see if they will curl forward and if so how far? I've a picture in mind that is the start of my girls story but wanted to make sure the doll will be able to do what I need before I buy her. Thank you everyone for showing your lovely babies. I'm even more determined to get a girl now.
Hi everyone! I ordered my first bjd mid January. It’s a Vieruodis from MYou. I’m expecting to receive her soon. I’m so excited! I want to dress her up like a custom character from one of my favorite games, Dragon Age, but since I can’t make clothes (yet) I’m looking for someone who does commissions for MYou adult minis. Someone who can either make renaissance-like dresses, mage robes or armor. Does anyone here know someone who can do that?
I don't think I ever shared pics of my Aubrey here after I painted him? Not the greatest face up but it was my first time doing anime style one so I was learning as I went. Hoping to redo it once the weather is warm enough here.
Willow and those daisies are gorgeous! I have a half done face up on my Rod right now, we ran into a humidity issue after I scratched his first face up, but….someday I’ll have time and dry weather at the same time! Ooh let’s see if I can post from Flickr on an iPad cannot wait to re-do the faceup! by daisydayes, on Flickr
Beautiful dolls everyone, thanks for sharing your lovely MYous! I repainted my Ken Kaneki fan-art doll (Bettina male) recently, and I had to spam him everywhere! I suck at painting hair strokes on larger dolls, so on him they are particularly painful to look at, but I am sitll super happy with how he looks. I feel like I like the heavy-handedness of the brows, but I wish I had done a cleaner job. NUDE MALE UPPER TORSO! Spoiler: Few extreme close ups
Hey friends!! I have a close friend considering a Doudou as her first doll but she's trying to find as many pics as possible to cement her decision. Could any folks who have the Doudou sculpt post pics of her? Much appreciated!
Willow has a sister now, meet Catkins The two of them are Tree Folk. Sculpts are Rod and Gina, painted and dressed by me.
Thank you! It's a pity that all these tiny sculpts look pretty similar. There is an event at the moment, and I am very tempted.
@ResinRapture They are tempting! Here's all three of my girls. I think Vieroudis is the one that looks different! Bettina, Gina and Vieruodis
Hey y'all! I received my first Myou Doll, a secondhand 30cm Delia, who's going to be my first project doll. She's in rough shape with heavy yellowing, cut eyelashes, a smudge on the lip of her face-up, uneven yellowing sealant, damaged eyes, a cut-up and damaged wig she came with that doesn't fit her properly and is cut in random places, scuffs and scratches everywhere... I've got my work cut out for me but I'm going to work on her bit by bit and hopefully one day I can show you a fully transformed doll. Everyone here has gorgeous tinies, so I have a lot of inspiration. This is how she arrived! Hopefully, I can get working on her soon.
Everyone dolls are so wonderfully styled - it's so lovely to see! I was wondering if anyone could help. I have a Gina, and I'd love to get her some boots. I had thought Ken boots might work, and they look like they're roughly the right size, but I worry that her feet will get stuck in them due to the harder plastic used. I was wondering what boots people use for those dolls? If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated.
Look for Taeyang boots, the more mature looking male of the Pullip line. The link I supplied here are a pair I had gotten for a boy I sold but they should be fairly similar.
Does anybody know if Myou darker colors (Coffee/Tan) match what is usually called "SOOM light tan"? I have a floating head in "SOOM light tan" from BirdCube and I am looking for a YoSD body. Comparison photos are very welcome! Thanks for your help!
I have a few questions... I have DuDu and Feng Linger in Normal, but would really prefer them in the coffee colour. - I think. Does anyone own any coffee coloured dolls they could post a photo of? And does Myou ever offer a sale around this time of year? And what are their waiting times like?
I have a Myou doll in coffee colour. It is a beautiful light tan, compared to the normal colour it's much more lifelike. I added a couple of pictures in the spoiler tag below. The picture with the hoodie on her head is probably the closest to how it looks in real life. Spoiler: large images of Myou Tuotuo in coffee skin They often have sales, I think it has just ended yesterday. But a new one will probably start soon for the Christmas period. They are rather quick too, I think my Tuotuo was ready in three months? I'm not sure now.
Thanks for the quick reply. I had ordered my two dolls quite some time ago to become toddlers for a Fashion sized couple, and the normal resin colour is just too pale. I thought the coffee colour would match the parents way better, and from your photos I'm thinking it would be way more lifelike. I'm not in a huge hurry, since the children they will become are just babies at the moment. So I'll wait to see when they start a Christmas sale. With the way our dollar is compared to the US dollar these days, every saving helps.
If you go the Myou website they list their legit stockists - including their taobao site which I’ve found is MUCH cheaper than Alice’s Collections, for example, even if they’re having a sale! Well, for shipping to Australia and in our currency anyway. Worth checking out! MYOU BJD娃娃
Thank you. That's the website I went to originally and where I discovered that the dolls can be ordered in different resin colours. I got my two little kids from Junky Spot almost two years ago, and didn't realize at the time that 'Normal' wasn't the only option.
I think when I ordered my other Myou doll back in 2017 the only options were normal, pink, and white. Maybe there was darker tan too but that cost extra. The light tan/coffee was introduced shortly before I ordered my Tuotuo in late 2021. If I buy another doll from this company, I'm definitely getting it in coffee colour. I'm really happy with it, especially as it's almost the same tone as my own skin
@MB Lilac, Coffee is a light tan, it’s such a pretty, smooth color. It is like a light, soft beige. I had one but sold it, the pictures I took did not show the true color though. I love that the color was the same price as normal and I bought mine from Alice’s at normal price for $160 with company faceup. Also if you want a boy sculpt on a girl body or the other way around you can message Alice and she will order it how you want. My doll was ready in 3 months but there was a shipping delay, not Myou or Alice’s problem. The light was bad that day but here were arrival pictures of mine /threads/myou-rourou-finally-arrived.849465/
Thanks. The resin colour looks perfect, and I'm happy they don't charge extra for it. But I don't buy through dealers in the US since then I get slapped with huge Customs fees, so I prefer to order directly from the companies in Asia. Sometimes those come through for free. Now I'm just going to wait to see if Myou has a Christmas sale.
I got my two dolls in coffee as well. They're in the middle of my collection photo here: I got Vieruodis and Reid (the ones with a flower crown and a silver cape in the photo) and while the lighting isn't optimal you can see how their skin tone is darker than the normal/cream white skins in the rest of my collection. I love the color though I do think their blond wigs might be washing them out. It's a lovely skin tone color!
Alice’s is in China, not the US, and has free airmail shipping. Promotions : BJD - Alice's Collections - BJD Dolls, BJD Accessories
@NineOneThree - I didn't know Alice's was in China. Free Shipping would definitely be worth ordering from her.
The Taobao store also has free express shipping worldwide, and it looks like Fenglinger, for example, is 690 yuan with free shipping, which works out to... $97 USD?! (If the currency converter I used is right!) https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z10.5-c.w4002-12588166079.15.14fc46feQsXzcO&id=733984358980 That's the link if you want to check with your currency, it should work it out for you if you put in your location. So like I said - the Taobao store is DEFINITELY the best value and has free worldwide shipping all the time, as far as I can tell, not only sometimes like Alice's Collections. One of these days I'll get another of the 1/6 mature tinies, I love them so much...
Alice's free shipping offer is always there. There's just a price/size requirement but I think full dolls always qualify. There's BJDbehiner, a taobao proxy. Afaik, ordering from/ making an account directly with Tao requires a Chinese address. Alice's would be the same price as using a proxi with their fees, though.
Well said. Besides that if you wait for a Myou event, Alice’s will have event pricing and it is an even better deal, and very simple to order. Even the regular price is a really good price for a full doll.
Myou also tends to have the same sale each time; 15% off all full dolls. So if you miss one sale, the next will be just as good.
I bought mine through Alice - she was very helpful in making sure I could get my dolls exactly the way I wanted them.
Okay. so I thought I'd pose one of my little Myou dolls with the two Fashion size dolls that are going to be his parents, just to see how the resin colours looked together. I was surprised that it was better than I thought. Now I don't think it's even worth it to order new tinies in a slightly darker resin colour.
Adorable family! Is the dad an Iplehouse in SRS? If so, I have Iplehouse SRS and Myou Coffee (and tan) so can show ya those compared if you'd like. :>
Yes, he's an Iplehouse FID in Special Real Skin. And she's Peach/Cream from SartoriaJ. I'd been looking around for affordable toddlers, and the choice was between the Myou tinies and the Supia Babies. But neither company shows those dolls in the colours I'd be interested in. Yes, I would appreciate seeing the Myou Coffee with the SRS. Then just watch me change my mind yet again. I'm so indecisive!
Dudes I need help. I have 3 myou mature tinies, an NONE of them have shoes!! I've bought shoes. I've bought a lot of shoes. It's always either too big or too small. Where are you guys buying shoes these guys?? I'm desperate please!!
I only own one male mature tiny, and I can say definitely 1:6 hollow male shoes are too big on the male mature tinies, female ones might work if they are made out of fabric and meant to go on feet. However, I don't own that many female action figure shoes (just a few that are not meant to go on feet, so I can't try). The one pair of hollow 1:6 female action figure plastic molded shoes I did try on my male, didn't work -- they are too tight and might scratch the resin with overuse/removal. The Real Littles shoes seem to work on females, judging from owner photos of them on the female's a few posts back. I haven't tried my second repeated pair on my male (would have to slice the back open, and I'm lazy to switch my x-acto blade to do so), so I can't say if they do work on the male feet for sure -- which are supposed to only be a bit wider than the females, if my brain doesn't completely fail me. Ken shoes are too small, from what I remember, but I don't own too many of those loose, either (I am a MISB Barbie/mass-produced-fashion-doll hoarder, so...) An old photo of my male Bettina, who's supposed to be my Ken Kaneki fan-art doll, but still remains nude because i am a lazy old fart and haven't gotten any #0 white nylon zippers for his awakened outfit yet (as an excuse to remain a procrastinator for eternity). I'm planning on repainting him soon, but I keep hesitating because I kind of regret not having taken many photos of his previously enhanced fist face up, but I also didn't love it enough to want him to keep it, nor do I want to attempt recreating it (it was a hot mess). And because I am such an amazing face up artist, I know I can do so much better on my next try (old-person daily dosage of bitter sarcasm, please ignore me)! Spoiler: Previously enhanced 1st face up
yah I also only own boys. I bought shoes for a male 1/6 model and as you stated they're too big. I bought expensive SK house ones for blythe and they ended up being too small (just barley). I have some monster high shoes and tried them on for fun. The actual fit was good, BUT because the outside is way bigger then the inside, they looked insane... tragic
I just straight up ordered the shoes from the full sets when I ordered my boys since I feared I'd never find suitable ones for them. I still struggle to even get those on and off them though so my boys tend to hang out shoeless. I also have a pair of Ken's sandals that stay on with little blue tack at the bottom of the feet but they're not exactly the greatest visually since obviously they're cheap ugly plastic. I think I read that Pullip TaeYang shoes should be pretty good fit but I don't have any so I can't vouch for them. The measurements seem to be bigger than the feet on these dolls is but at least they'd be easier to get on than the teeny tiny Myou shoes I guess...
I own a Taeyang MIO that wears Taeyang sized boots, but they are laced up boots and they would be a royal pain in the gut to remove to try on my Bettina. I feel like they are too big for Myou mature tiny male feet, but then I am a bit particular about proportions and shoes, and probably fit. Despite the doll not giving a crap about any of that...Lol! Not going to help most people, probably, but I shared a tutorial for fashion doll sized sneakers on a few threads on here, by YouTube crafter BijouTV. They are super easy to make since everything is glued together. I was able to make a semi-not-too-crappy pair of sneakers on my first try. I feel that if I had sewed everything instead of being a lazy bum and using glue for all, when I don't have the skills to be using glue. I would have gotten a better or at least cleaner result. The tutorial can be seen on YouTube here, the pattern is free and super easy to resize. I resized it in Photoshop to be slightly longer than the male foot size. Hope it helps people who can't find any other alternatives for Myou mature tiny male shoes. (:
Thanks for sharing! I was going try to avoid it, but its looking more and more likely that making the shoes yourself is the only way haha. Oh well, who doesn't love a challenge.
Well, I myself am not a crafty person, yet I was able to make the shoes (they could be cleaner for sure!). The biggest problem for most will probably be not finding all the tools and materials. However, I feel like they are all easy to swap for different alternatives. I even made a pair of pvc boots, but I don't like the fit. I will have to modify some parts of the pattern to make it work for boots tgat are to my liking. Otherwise, it's a rather easy tutorial to follow and mod to most anyone's needs. (:
I got into the hobby to do faceups and make wigs, so I love arts and crafts! But shoe making just seemed so daunting, you know? The tutorial doesn't seem too hard though, so thanks again for sharing.
I completely understand! I've been a traditionally trained artist all my life, I always wanted to customize my own dolls, and even "learned" very basic sewing basics, but shoe making is definitely something I never even thought about. I found Bijou's tutorial quite a few years ago, and always thought about trying it for my 1:6 action figures, but I am a lazy procrastinator. However, there are shoe alternatives for 1:6 action figures even I can deal with, so I kind of didn't mind not making my own for those figures. For my one and only mature tiny BJD so far, it is kind of annoying not finding anything that seems to work well enough for me. I am picky about proportions however, I could probably get away with male action figure shoes, but I know it's going to bother me. Female action figure shoes are kind of limited in variety, I know I wouldn't be able to find much, even if some might fit. So, I better get to learning some shoe making skills fast. Lo! Good luck with your shoe hunting or shoe making adventures! (:
Haha are we the same person? This is everything I've tried/ thought, even being a lazy procrastinator. I guess this is what we get for choosing unique sized doll.
Well, I finally made up my mind, and ordered Dudu and Feng Linger in coffee. I was surprised that there was an Event going on, so they were 15% off. In the meantime I'll use my normal resin ones as costume models while I wait for their 'healthier' looking versions to arrive.
I received a shipping notice for my DuDu and Feng Linger this morning! I ordered them in coffee, to replace the same two in normal resin that I already had, so I've been able to prepare an entire medieval wardrobe for both of them while I waited.
