MYou tinies discussion - Part 2

So I can't remember where I originally posted about shoes for the Myoudoll tinies but I figured I could do it here and in the Myoudoll tinies thread. Someone at some point had mentioned that Tonner shoes fit them. I went looking and was immediately overwhelmed and didn't know how to find the right shoes. I never saw a response but I kept looking... and looking... and I think I figured it out!

I found this page that lists foot sizes.
Myoudoll's feet are close enough to 1 1/2" I think that they should be able to fit shoes from Tonner Tyler and anybody else with a 1 1/2" foot on that page. I think Socks/tight will help make up any extra room that might be too extra.

So I did a search on Etsy for 16" Tonner Tyler shoes and found all sorts of stuff. I'm not sure how well they will do in heel shoes but I think I may try picking up a heel and a flat soon.

Sorry if this is old new, but I'm sure it can't hurt to be repeated + I'm too tired to try to look.

 

@kittydorkdork Mature tinies can wear Taeyang boots, they fit perfectly. The boots in the picture below are self made, though.

 

Tyler shoes will be too big. I bought 5 pairs of shoes that were supposed to fit and they were ridiculously big. Tyler and a lot of those dolls also have heel feet so the measurement is not by a flat foot which skews it :/
I did buy "Marley Wentworth" size shoes on ebay from 2Debsadorables and those fit just about perfect, but I also ordered shoes from Facets that were listed to fit Marley and those were also way too big.

 

Imma bring 1/8 back in here. Coquelicot is supposed to be a garden fairy but I keep finding more casual clothes that fits her. Oh well~

Do you know how much darker the coffee resin is compared to the normals? I've always been buying normal skin dolls for lack of options and I was thinking I might change, but I'm worried because this is new to me.

May I also ask if you have dolls with default faceups on one of the darker resin shades? I was wondering how much it'll change how they look. I tried painting a faceup on a tiny once and I'm not sure I'm capable enough, don't want to repeat that.

 

I would love to know that as well! I have seen a few of Vieruodis in tan and I think the faceup looks amazing on that color and a lot different than the faceup on the very light skin tone. I would love to see her in coffee as I just ordered one from Alice Collections. I had a hard time choosing between coffee and tan.
I have hunted everywhere trying to get an idea of what the coffee vs tan is like. I feel like the stuff I have found the tan looks quite a bit...orange. I am not sure if that is just lighting or what, so I went with coffee and hope I made a good choice!

Thank you, I did see her, but they asked to have the lashes painted shorter so not sure if mine would look the same. I would really love to see coffee and tan side by side with company faceups. I have gone through all the pages and didn't see any. I am always looking for more photos, especially up close of the faceups.

Do you like the tan in person. A lot of the photos the tan seems a bit orange and I don't know if that is just my computer screen or the lighting. I would love to see the colors side by side when you get the chance

 

Well I just got a pair of Taeyang boots in the mail and I find them too big in the length. for the mature tinies.
So far a pair of plastic Ken doll loafers are what fits my Bettina. I ordered 2 wigs, I tried a 3-4 and a 4 size wig. The 4 fits but looks big the 3-4 was a tad too tight, so I put a slash in the back and secured it with thread, so increased by about 1/8 of an inch. I put a strip of Velcro on her head to keep it in place when I hot glue sueded her knees and hips. I think the volume of the smaller wig looks better than the larger wig. Keep in mind I opted for a shorter style wig. Also I found that patterns for Kitty Collier doll fits her from the mock ups I've made for fitting with just about 1/2 inch to length in pants, but the bodices and sleeves seem spot on.
Hope this helps someone in getting their mature tiny dressed.
I have tried a few pairs of cheaper eyes I had lying around, but they didn't work, need a very domed small iris to look right, so keeping her weird pink/ lavender looking eyes for now.
I am trying to decide if I want to makes a 1940's wardrobe or a 1960's for her. I think a 40's would be better for her figure since she has a large bust. I have an msd with a small bust that has more of the 60's vibe but I'm undecided. Being so small 60' would definitely be easier. What are some of you doing with your mature tiniest from MYou

 

All of this info was incredibly helpful, especially the wig, pattern, and eye notes. What size eyes were you trying? I have some 8mm eye molds; do those work?

 

I tried 8mm and 9mm. They both fit but without a very small dome iris they sit too far back in the eye socket and make a dark hole, lol. If the doll you are ordering has eyes take them out and look at them carefully before ordering any. This will hopefully save you time and money. The eyes Bettina came with are not bad, just not what I had envisioned. I'm going to wait on eyes for now and focus on the wardrobe, as I tend to get hyper-focused on one aspect and get paralyzed when forging ahead usually makes things fall in place. Professed perfectionist here, which can be unproductive.
I think I will make shoes so I can have what I want, I just like to have a complete outfit when trying to decide how to style my dolls.

 

I've been gradually building up my Vieruodis' wardrobe but there is one thing I am struggling with. Does anyone know where to find sweaters to fit? They can be oversized, but my frustration has been that the sleeves never seem long enough when they were made for barbie. I am a cozy sweater wearing gal, and my dolls tend to also wear a lot of cozy sweaters and I'm frustrated that I don't have even one for my myou girl. Any recommendations for stores that have sweaters to fit would be welcome!

My Vieruodis has 10mm eyes with a 3mm iris. I purchased them from BJDHolic on etsy and they fit her just about perfectly. I think the 3mm iris is key. Any bigger would have been too much in my opinion.

For wigs I ended up finding a maker on instagram that would let me commission one to fit. My girl's is from foxyboxesbjdstore on instagram. However, they don't have a myou head currently in their possession. They made the wig when a different commissioner had sent their myou head to the wig maker to create the wigs. I know that they did recently buy a Vieruodis from alice's collections though so they will have a Myou girl soon!

 

Thank you for these specific details, I really appreciate it. I want to go shop now, but promised myself she needs one complete outfit sewn by me before I spend anymore money. Not that I am limited in funds, but that I will continue to procrastinate if I don't set goals.
I am very happy with the wig I fixed to fit her and I have mohair to make a hard cap wig in the near future. I just hate naked, bald, shoeless dolls.

 

I just bought a second hand Alan from someone on Instagram couple days ago so joining the discussion here. He should arrive to me next week or the one after, my first mature tiny I'm already dreading painting his tiny face but I survived model delfs so maybe I'll survive him too?

 

Congratulations on your new doll. I really like Alan's face. I've been thinking about his head on a female body, I like his expression and I enjoy sewing for girls better than guys.

 

Thanks to the suggestion of @jenlovesdolls I ordered some Marley Wentworth shoes from 2debsadorables for my Vieruodis and they just arrived! I'm so happy to have shoes for my girl now! I ordered a pair of sandals, a pair of flats, and 2 pairs of boots. All fit!

The sandals I think fit the absolute best. The boots fit great but she sadly can't stand in them. Something about the way they are made has the foot kinda tilting a little so she'll need to sit while wearing those until I get a stand for her.

 

I just bought a ton of sandals and flats from her. Previously I only had black and white of each type. It is very nice to have shoes that fit, and they are not super expensive either!

I am not keen on the boots, they look ok from the front but from the side they look a bit odd, and I think that shape is why you are having issues with her standing in them possibly.

 

Yeah, off to order some sandals. Thanks for following through with the update on fit. I really appreciate it.

 

Sharing a picture I took tonight of my girl, Kerity, in her new sandals!

 

I love her!! Now I am wishing I got my Vieruodis in tan instead of coffee! Where did you get her wig? I have Atelier Momoni's Pitusas, which are pretty much the same measurments in a lot of areas but the heads on the Myou are a bit smaller so I think wigs might be my only issue. I have found that these small sizes a lot of company wigs I have tried look so bulky so I buy custom ones made for Popovy or Tender Creation as the fit is fine for my girls, but not sure how it will be for the Myou dolls.

Edited to add: I do not know how I missed these dolls on Junky Spot I could have had my doll already as what I wanted is in stock. I ordered coffee Vieruodis from Alice Collections but after seeing several in tan I thought maybe I should have gotten tan...so I bought tan from Junky Spot. I guess I will either keep both or pick which skin tone I like best and sell the other, unless I can cancel the order with Alice Collections. I will shoot them an email but I think it may be too late.

 

I received my Alan today and oh gosh how small he is! I had imagined he'd be tiny but somehow he's even smaller than what I imagined and so cute

Anyway, as I was toying with him his elastic accidentally slipped from the s-hook and he fell apart. Not a big deal, I know how to put him back together but thought that actually since he's already in pieces I'll give him a bath and restring him since he was bit too floppy for my taste, only I'm not sure what size I should get for him? Does anyone know? The ones in him seem to be about 1mm - 2mm, maybe 1.5mm? I don't have good enough ruler to be sure I'll take the string with me to store to compare what's the closest one tomorrow but figured that asking here first in case someone already knows better won't hurt ^_^

 

I love the tan but I will say it is hard to photograph! To be fair my background color choice probably didn't help any but I wanted it to be a little but Valentine's day-y. I also don't know if it is just my girl, or the tan resin, or just bad luck, but the sealant on her faceup is a mess! She arrived to me with a white cast over parts of her face. Kinda like what you get when you clean off a faceup and miss a little sealant. It looks awful and ruins her faceup in my opinion. You can't tell from a distance but zooming in for face pictures it becomes really clear and just looks terrible. So, because of that I don't think I would order tan from myou again if I was getting a default faceup. I'm probably going to have to send her out to someone to be redone soon because I can't deal with the white cast haha.

Her wig is one that I commissioned from foxyboxesbjdstore on instagram! They don't currently have any myou dolls they can make wigs for but they also ordered one from Alice's Collections so I expect they will be selling wigs for the size once their Vieruodis arrives to them.

Oh wow, I would have thought it was shimmer or something if you hadn't mentioned it. I will post when mine arrives and let you know if mine is the same. One of the things I was iffy about with her is the lower lashes, they seem to be quite a bit below the lash line, which I feel the darker resin tone makes it less obvious.
I did email Alice Collections and I could cancel but would only get back $150 of the $215 so I opted not to cancel the order.

 

They are painted pretty low but that doesn't bother me too much. It just felt like a stylistic choice to me. I think I would have kept her faceup longer if it wasn't for the white cast. As it stands though I think I'm going to be trying to get a slot with Komorebi Dolls for her next month when she opens up. Sad since it means she only had this faceup for the few months since she arrived.

 

You don't have to replace the elastic, just tighten it, unless the elastic itself is already worn. I haven't received my boy yet (probably won't until sometime in Apri, I'm guessing), so I can't help you with elastic sizes. However, you don't have to replace it, unless it is actually no longer able to hold the tension you need to hold any poses. I had most of my dolls for longer than fifteen years, and I never needed to replace any of their elastics until just a few years ago (which I still haven't done, due to me being a bit of a nut job). Most of mine are larger however, so maybe that also helped in addition to me not playing with them often and leaving them in their boxes all the time. Regardless, elastic doesn't need to be replaced jsut because the doll feels loose, you can always just try tighting it, and if that doesn't work, then you can certainly replace it. Hope that helps, and good luck learning which size string you need, in case you do need to replace yours. (:

 

Thanks for the reply, to me the elastic feels kind of loose but it's also a lot thinner than the ones I'm used to so maybe I just don't understand how it should feel. I'll buy new one just in case + I want to change it to be two separate strings for the legs, I don't like them being strung together.

Edit: one elastic hunt later, I think it's 2mm, 1.5mm is way too thin. 2mm looks bit thicker than what my boy has (maybe it has stretched?) but since there's not like 1.8-1.9mm available it's what I'm going to use. I'll try putting him back together later tonight so we'll see then.

Alright so after some hot glue sueding and new strings Alan's no longer like a wet noodle and can actually hold different poses without folding over one way or another. Evening well spent on doll maintenance I'd say

Thank you! ^^ the wig was included by his previous owner and since it's the only one small enough for him I didn't exactly have a lot of choices (it was either this wig or bald head) but I actually really like the blue on him and chances are that when I'll make him a new wig it might turn out to be blue too, or maybe I'll just give him blue streak(s) or something. He's so small that making wigs for him will only take couple hours (+how long ever the glue takes to dry) so I kind of foresee making multiple

Anyway, I'm eyeballing Feng Linger, but my last adventure with a tiny was... not awesome. We didn't bond? (Which is why @Mamo has a DouDou now, ha!) I would love to see more owner pics of the 17cm (specifically Feng Linger) from the com if y'all have them! Esp in comparison to your bigger dolls! Esp esp your like... BIGGER dolls. I, uh, may have a knack for picking up them 70cm boys. 0w0;

My Vieruodis arrived today and WOW I love her! I still have the coffee one coming from Alice Collections, she also has the small bust. I don't mind the big bust, she fits in Barbie stuff better than my Atelier Momoni girls because of the bust size so it works out
I have to say I was worried about the lower lashes because on the pale doll in the stock photos they look to be very long and lower than the lash line, but in person I don't see that at all. I was also worried the tan might be too orangey but it is a very nice shade! I can't wait for my coffee girl to arrive. I am debating on getting Gina now too hahaha

Does anybody know if Barbie wigs would fit the 27cm dolls? I’m away from home for a few days and can’t compare head sizes and I have scoured the internet looking for Barbie’s head size but have found NOTHING.

 

I will get my mature tiny from the USA Postal Service sometime next week (it's been in transit from China since the 10th), I own one barbie sized wig (4" Monique I believe, it's quite old so I forget the brand). So, if you haven't found out by then, I can certainly post about its fit on my Myou if you are still looking to find out by that time and no one else has answered it yet. (:

 

So I'm finally home and I eyeballed the heads of 27cm Gina and a Barbie extra and they both seem pretty dang close in size so I ordered a wig for Barbie from Etsy. I'll report back on the fit!

 

Good luck! My mature Myou tiny is still not here yet, but I am hoping he'll be here by Wednesday. I haven't measured a Barbie head in decades, but if they are all still around the same size as the older ones, their head should be 4" in circumference -- which is how doll wigs are sized (I misplaced my measuring tape and don't normally unbox fashion dolls). I will still try my old Barbie wig on my mature tiny, just for kicks as his hair will definitely not be the color of wig I own, but it will be similar in length. I don't mind making tiny wigs myself, but if I can find an already made Barbie sized one in the style and color that works, then I'll be glad to pay for one readymade. I hate double posting, but I finally picked up my Bettina from my local PO, and I have to say that my Barbie sized wig doesn't fit. I know I purchased it from an eBay seller and it was listed as Barbie sized, but I don't know the exact measurement they listed it as -- when I measured it is 3", with little to no stretch at all. If I measured my Bettina's head correctly, the circumference is closer to 4 1/4", so a wig sized 4-5" will probably work better. I don't own any other Barbie sized wigs, so I don't know how big they tend to be, but mine is certainly not going to stretch to 4". Having said that, a line of hot glue might help keep the wig in place, because it is a stretchy cap wig, but I don't intend to use the wig on my Bettina, so I didn't try doing that. I hope that helps, and helps others thinking of using Barbie sized wigs on their mature MYou tinies. (:

I can't remember if I ever shared my little lady! 17cm Nuannuan. I got her from FabricFriends awhile back.
Wig from Leekeworld, outfit from KamiliaCrafts on etsy. It's meant for pukifee/lati yellow but it fits her pretty well but a little short!
I've had my eye on some shoes from DenverDoll that I think would fit but I don't mind her being barefoot for now.
I don't mind the eyes she came with but I'm thinking I'd like to switch them out with something a bit darker than her hair. I like to match eyes to hair sometimes.

Was wondering if anyone has found a doll stand that works well for the mature tinies? I think my girl needs a bit of stability to stand up long enough for me to get the photos I want and was browsing stands and don't know if one made for barbie will work or not. Anyone have success with a doll stand from Amazon or elsewhere?

They are 1/6 scale action figure shoes I got on ebay. I got these specific ones from worldshopgoco for $18.99 + $1.99 shipping to the USA from Hong Kong, and they arrived pretty quickly.
